The food went over wonderful, didn't have to bring anything home. The dessert was ate up! lol Every one loved it!
I had BBQ chicken, for dinner, and baked chicken at lunch. There was chicken and turkey all over the place! lol The turkey was dry though so I stayed with the chicken.
It rained and rained hard, but thankfully we had tent things, so we huddled under those, kept the food under one, and every one who could fit tried to stay in the house! lol I stayed outside most the time though, as it never got cold, just rained hard!
Heather, the things you are bringing to the potluck sound good. I hope you got your lean protein.
Louise, Sorry you had the asthma problem but I hope it all turned out good today. Small children can sure change in just a six month span. I'm glad you're enjoying teaching.
Ann, I try to keep the big turkey dinners to Thanksgiving but DS#2 brings us one every Thanksgiving from his employer and I got one free so I needed to use it up. Also works well since DS#1 is eating mostly chicken, turkey, fish and fresh fruits & veggies. This will keep him busy this week. The book and a movie sounds good. I rented Night in Rodanthe- will probably watch it tomorrow because it has to go back Tuesday.
Vicki, There's nothing like sitting in a hot tub and watching the weather go by. When I lived in a big city and worked I went to a massage lady who always put me in her hot tub in the back yard first thing. I remember sitting there under the trees watching the snow flakes come down one day.
Sarah, thank you for the recipe ideas. I love beets! I've been getting golden beets from the CSI but there weren't any in my box today.
Well, I'm really excited there's a new series of Agatha Christie shows on Mystery/Masterpiece Theater.
I took some pictures of my son's trail in the woods. He made the arches by fastening elderberry trees together and then reinforcing them with twigs and branches. Then he puts interesting little objects around - there's a gate of driftwood. One day when he went down there to work on his trail he discovered someone else made an arch and contributed some things to the "found objects". We don't know who it is but we think maybe either an older man who walks by occasionally or a young teen. I don't know if we'll ever know. I'll add some of the pics to my Sparkpage.
We are having really hot weather here in Florida, humidity is terrible.
The turkey sounds great. I love roasted turkey, so versatile. The Turkey Tetrazzini in Man in Mind cookbook is really good...5*'s. Also the Chicken Spaghetti (I sub turkey when I have it) is another 5* recipe. I'm sorry I forget which book it is from.
I have Harvard Beets in the crockpot, having it with chicken breast and corn on the cob for dinner.
Happy Father's Day to all of the Hubby/Father's out there! Turkey sounds good! We have one in the freezer to make one of these days. We are having T-Bones grilled by Hubby, garden salad, and a potato. I'll probably also cook up some onions and mushrooms to put over the steaks. Later our daughter and family will come over.
We were going to go in the hot tub last night but never got there so we went in this morning and sat on the patio for awhile. Nice overcast day, makes it feel not quite as warm as it is - 80.
Louise, sorry to hear you are having trouble with your asthma. Lots of people here are now with all of the pollens and the humidity. Not a good combination.
Enjoy your day! Vicki

Gee, you ladies are nice to fix your DH breakfast and turkey. My DD and DH always fix Sunday breakfast for themselves. I don't eat biscuits and gravy. The two of them are off to pick up DS and GS and go to a Padre's baseball game. I could have gone but rather stay home. I'll enjoy a movie or a book.
The weather isn't too great but maybe it will be partially sunny.

Good Morning! I love Roasted Turkey! I was going to make my husband a wonderful Father's Day Dinner but I had a really bad asthma attack yesterday and it is continuing today. I am going to have my daughter go and buy three nice meals at a good resturant and bring them to our townhome. She wanted to take him and buy him new shoes at little later today. We were going to have my father-in-law here and also my mother-in-law (she can go on short rides from the hospice home she is in) but my dear mother-in-law is not feeling well so my father-in-law decided to stay with her. My husband will take his dad out to diner sometimes this week for a present. I am really glad I am back teaching again, however, my class is really young, young two year olds. Infact, one little boy is not two yet. So I have to gear my lesson plans and my projects really down from what I had them. Enjoy The Day! GOD BLESS! Louise
Hmm can't think of a favorite recipe, I just love roasted turkey. However, I always want to try one of her Turkey Tetrazini's.
I made Daddy's deviled eggs, (from a June newsletter), Layered Party Pea Salad, from Splenda, and a strawberry trifle I make, using Jo's Tiramisu recipe from Diabetic Desserts/Dessert Every night, I just don't use coffee, and I use 1 lb of strawberries in the layers.
We are going to my inlaws house, because my husband's grandmother just got out of the hospital. So...the whole family is going there, to welcome her home and bringing a dish, I'm brining the above three, and hoping there will be some form of lean protein for me to eat there. There usually is. I'm betting some one is bringing a turkey!
