Linda glad the soup is working! I would do the freezer thing too! :) So you don't get bored. I would make like 5 soups, and have one each day of the week. A lot of HE soups only serve 4 and at most 8. The 4 ones, would only last one month that way. :) So no chance of freezer burn. :)
Linda, Those glad freezer containers for individual portions are great for portioning out leftovers. If you have a microwave at work/school you can just bring a frozen one along.
Iris, I am pea green with envy, too, about no-cook nights. How are those pups?
Ann, Lol about the shopping. If I ever try something on and ask DH if he likes it and he says "Well, turn around...." as if the other side is going to make it look any better! Then I know to put it back.
Well, plan B for us tonight. DH was doing taxes today and went to look at a used car. Temptation hit and he went to KFC with a coupon. It was tasty and it's a good thing it's not something we commonly eat. I'll do better tomorrow.
Just finished supper here. It has been 70 today but as Iris said windy. Tonight will get cold.
Jan, I sure know what you mean about shopping with DH. I'd rather go by myself than either have DH get lost or have him follow me like a puppy. He's a label reader in the grocery store and I can be finished shopping 19 aisles at the military commissary and he's back on aisle 3 or 4 trying to decide which brand of whatever to buy. Drives me crazy. I never ever go clothes shopping with him. He can never make up his mind.
Iris, don't you love the nights you don't have to cook and can just open a can of soup. I'm apt to scramble myself an egg or two.
Linda, make yourself a menu for the week so one grocery trip will get everything you need. If DH wasn't off green vegetables my menu would be a lot easier. He takes blood thinners and green veg. have additional thining stuff in them. Makes it real difficult to plan. Even cabbage and cauliflower are high in that vitamin. We eat a lot of Yellow summer squash.
This week has been a good one for my supper meals. I'll see if I do as well next week. Some times I'm at a loss what to fix and can never think of anything interesting.
Well I wish I could say I was cooking something HE tonight, but alas I can't go shopping til tommorrow. But definately tommorrow night. I am enjoying the German Potato soup that I made for lunch this week. I've had it every day for 3 days and I'm not sick of it yet.
