My mentor gave me a $100 gift card for a congrats on your promotion and "thanks for being there with me while I have chemo and radiation" gift.

I made him a lapghan that he carries to treatment like Linus and pets the entire time while I hold his hand.
So I got some yummy yarn, some books,
and knitting needles. I am just so humbled. . .I will post pictures tomorrow. . .

Well, my midterm stuff is done and it is newstime so goodnight friends. I'll talk more tomorrow.

The ball is a bit ackward; it is very important to buy the correct size for your height. They come in 3 sizes 55, 65 and I believe 75 inch diameter. I'm 5'9" so I need the 65 in. There are balls you can buy that have a weighted bottom so they don't roll away so easily. I saw them at Wally world; they cost a little more but for those with balance problems it helps.

The recommendation my chiro made was to use the ball against a wall so there isn't far to go. My hubby also came up with this idea which works pretty well: When I told him about the base that was on the balls at Wallyworld, he suggested that I try turning my aerobic step upside down and sitting the ball inside that. That works pretty well too.

Iris, That's called "life ain't fair!" (you gained/dh lost). Hope the floor project goes smoothly. When we do something around the house it always seems like you have to go from plan A to plan B, C & sometimes D!

Ann, It must be good to be home. I hadn't thought about having to limit your shower time. I was out at Ft. Stevens but didn't notice if there were a lot of people camping.

Shar, Hope that headache went away. I know about the yuck feeling that comes with them.

Well, I felt better after lunch so we went out to walk on the trails again. You have to really watch your step for what the wild animals leave but it was very nice. You never know, along the river there can be a cold wind but it was really nice. I never had to wear my hat and took off my scarf an windbreaker. My weight is probably up this week so I need to do better. I'll be grocery shopping on Wednesday so need to make a list of good things to have in the house.

Hello,

I have been busy today had to do big big grocery shopping, came home and put a huge pot of stew in the crockpot to have tomorrow for dh and son in-law for their lunch. They are going to start laying the floor in the living room tomorrow.

We have been having so much warm weather here. I want it to rain again. Such weird weather for January.

Tonight I am making Belgian Waffles to freeze for dh. You know I have been cooking the regular way not HE way. My husband lost 3 lbs. I gained 7 lbs. go figure that. I have lost three of the seven though. I am just trying to eat in moderation. Groceries are getting so expensive, am trying to watch how much I spend.

Hope everyone who isn't feeling well will be feeling good real soon. Louise let us know how your arm is doing.

Have a nice evening

We are home and the motor home is unloaded and the washer and dryer are going. I woke up this morning at 3:45 a.m. and if I went back to sleep it was only cat naps. We hit the road at 7 a.m. and got home just before 1 p.m. Lots of RVers taking advantage of the three day week end. We drove through the dessert where are the sand dunes are that those with the sand toys just love. It was a busy place.

We were very lucky all week as we were blessed with warm weather in the day and cold nights. Last year it was so cold over there. Another year it rained before we got to the fairgrounds and it was so messy. Here at home it is quite warm but the sun is setting and it is fast cooling down. I've had the doors open until a little bit ago.

It is going to feel so good to take a loooooonnnnnnng
shower tonight and not have to skimp on water.

I will catch up on reading the back posts and be back tomorrow.

I am glad to see more posters back. It has been quiet. Our school was open today and everyone wondered why. The three two's classes (I teach one of them) had a lot of children. However, most of the others did not. They had to send teachers home.
Then in the early afternoon my director sent some of the two's teachers home. The funny thing is she sent
the younger ones not us older ones. I would have loved to have gone home. I did not think we should have been open anyway. Well, tomorrow is a regular day so back to having a lot of children. I am not feeling well either. I am not sure if it is because of the lump on my arm that the dermintologist lanced or just that it is cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon. Well, everyone, please have a GREAT rest of the day!
GOD BLESS!
Louise

Hi Everyone,
It was a beautiful day here in Ind. today but only 20 out but that is much better than the below zero of last week. I am always glad when Jan. is over just seems like a long cold month for around these parts.
Jan, I have not felt so well myself today. Kind of headache, and a little sick to my stomach. Just felt yucky all day but did manage to take a nap while the little ones were napping also. Only had 3 today thank goodness.
Paulissa keep us posted on how you do with the ball. I just feel I would be so ackward on it. I have watched some videos on how to use it here on spark. I may try it but just wonder how you are doing. Do you use it everyday?
Has anyone heard from GailM? I knew she joined us here at spark but haven't seen anything from her for sometime now.
Well I hope everyone has a good Mon.!!!

Shar

Good Morning: At 7:00 a.m. it was cold, foggy, and damp here in Springfield, OR. It is now 11:00; the fog has lifted, clouds are moving out, the sky is blue, and I see SUNSHINE!!! It is still cool, but that is ok...the sunshine really makes a big difference--makes me want to open the windows, and let that fresh air in; and even go for a walk this afternoon. The endorphins are really high this morning...Yahoo! emoticon

I wish I could put this kind of morning in a bottle and cork it to save for the rainy days that are still coming soon...!

Good morning,

It's late morning here in the Pacific NW and the sun is out like it has been for the past few days. It sure makes a person feel good - although not warm like some of you have (48 degrees right now).

I'm cooking a pot of black eyed peas to go with my dinner today. I woke up with a headache so I'm slow moving this morning. Headache is gone but the yuk feeling isn't.

What's going on in your part of the world?
