OHHHHHHHHH honey I would call the state Medical Board and file a complaint. Get a 2nd opinion and don't wait for the HMO to take action; this is about your health not about THEM keeping $$$$$$$$ in their pockets. ((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))

Thanks Gals.

Well, my HMO makes you go to five hundred different people. Lela has to see a pediatrician, I see a MD, but right now I am dealing with a OB nurse. My MD really doesn't do much. Here in NYC doctors will not talk to you on the phone. :( There's no calling and them calling you back. My step mother didn't even know that existed in the USA! lol

Sorry you haven't been more updated Paulissa. So far the deal is, I was definitely pregnant with twins, and possibly triplets. Only one has survived. I possibly miscarried one on Thursday and maybe the other one too, right now there is still a empty placenta in my uterus with the thriving surviving baby. Which makes this a very high risk pregnancy, along with me being type 1 diabetic it's double reason for me to be seen by high risk doctors.

I agree nurses are very educated, my dad is a RN, and I trust him fully. But, this nurse is so incompetent. Not trying to down any LPN's, but she as far as I can tell doesn't even know as much as most LPN's I know, let alone RN's or drs. So it's very upsetting. Especially since my old OB sent me straight away to the high risk clinic, and all that was for was the diabetes, not for twins, possibly triplets, and one or two dying!

My step mother is very upset they aren't doing daily blood test to make sure what's left in there isn't causing infection or going septic.

Dear Heather, what a mess you are going through. Have you tried calling the Dr. office and leaving a message for a personal call from your doctor. Do you and Leila both see the same Dr? Maybe her dr. can get through to your Dr. for you and what about your Diabetic office. Your medical situation sounds nutty to me and I know my DH would be making a lot of phone calls. He's the one that handles our medical stuff as he has more patience than I have. Maybe you should just go to the hospital emergency room. Isn't this the time of year you can change your primary care doctor?

BIG emoticon from me too.

Heather, I hope you are getting some of your questions answered with a NEW Dr. This other one sounds very incompetent. I am wishing you well and sending lots of prayers and HUGS your way.

ok I'm just getting bits and pieces of the story; was there an update from Heather? I'm obviously missing something. The last I read Heather was meeting with a dr on the 15th to see what could be done but I haven't heard anything further about her since.

Heather, I too am very sorry for all you are going through. Is there any way you can go to another doctor who WILL see you and not leave you to a nurse.
I know nurses usually know a lot and sometimes more than the doctor but this one sounds as if she knows
NOTHING! I am so sorry you are going through this! I will still be praying for you. I am sure what you are going though does not help your diabetes any either. Please know that we love you and we are praying for you. GOD BLESS!

Heather, I'm so sorry to hear you're going through all this. You certainly don't need an incompetent nutty nurse to deal with at this time. Praying you get results (the care you need) this week and from here on out.

Heather:
I am so very sorry for all of your frustrations and grievances you have to experience, especially at this time of year. I can only imagine what it would be like, in fact, I would have to be drugged to try to cope. *big hugs*

I am wondering if you can phone your HMO's help line and speak to someone who could listen to your situation and try to give you the help you need? I would even be tempted to mention you will take legal action if you are not helped immediately and then phone the Bar Association and get a lawyer, who would see you at Pro Bono. your situation is just nuts and your nurse sounds arrogant and even nuttier, and that's a lot.

Let us know if you need anything at all. many prayers and thoughts of it all getting fixed in a compassionate sane way.

Sorry I haven't been able to get online much lately.

So far, we don't know much. I'm going through HMO heck to say the least.

I haven't even seen a doctor yet. Only his nurse, who thinks she can handle every thing, but is totally inept, and refusing to send me to the high risk clinic.

My step mother is a dr, if I don't get into the high risk clinic by the end of the week, she is going to pay for me a second opinion. As she says my care is not meeting the standards that federal law have set up. If the second opinion, agrees with my step mother, then my HMO can be sued if they don't go by the second opinion, and at least give me the basic care that the federal law requires.

My step mother says I should be seeing a dr daily and getting daily blood test to make sure the parts of the deceased baby left in there is not causing septic or infection. And yet I haven't even seen a dr yet. The nurse says I want things to happen to fast. And when ever I try to explain basic health issues with diabetes type 1 and pregnancy (like blood glucose rising at week 12 because of the hormones that placenta throws off), she says I am speaking over her head and need to slow down. Yet, in the next breath tells me she treats diabetics all the time, and is very capable of handling my care! I have very little trust in her care, since she doesn't even know as much about diabetes and pregnancy as I do, and I'm a layman.

She also couldn't comprehend me telling her 3 times slowly how to write prescriptions for me, as my insurance requires them wrote in a certain way. So of course my insurance wouldn't pay. I had to pay out of pocket. But, since I was crying at the pharmacy, cause I had went over it three times slowly with her, and she kept saying I was speaking over her head, even though I had even did the math and every thing, and told her word for word how to write the rx, she still didn't do it correctly. The pharmacist felt sorry for me, and told me not to worry about it, he would call her and work with her himself. *sigh* I am hoping he has more success with her then me. Cause she obviously has mental disabilities.

My step mother suspects the way she explodes with me, by screaming at me and demeaning me in the appointments, that she may be bi-polar and I need to get away from her asap.

The last I heard from her was last week saying she would know more on Monday, the 15th. I sent her an e-mail asking how she was, I think last Wednesday the 17th and haven't heard from that one yet. When I do hear from her, I'll post here.

Heather, let us know if you need anything. *Big Hugs*

Heather is on bedrest. Her good news is she is pregnant - the difficult news was she was expecting twins and one didn't survive so her doctors were deciding how to deal with removing the placenta from the baby who didn't survive without causing trauma to the surviving baby. I do hope I got that right.
Heather, her hubby and little Lela are in my thoughts and prayers.
