Hi everyone,
Boy do I have a lt of posts to catch up on. I have been so busy with the mess going on in the house and helping my granddaughter get moved I just haven't had time to post for about a week I think.

I am sorry for all of you that are under the weather. It is definitely that time of year when there are so many bugs going around.

Tomorrow I am going to be gone all day helping my dgd again. she has such a heavy load with her dh gone.

It is supposed to rain tomorrow. I will believe it when I see it. I love to bake in the rain but won't be able to tomorrow,

I have lots of recipes to make from our Dec. book. I am looking forward to us all sharing our recipes and what we think of them.

I have Stew on for tonight it is going to taste real good because it is colder than it has been.

The snow sounds so pretty. If we have a snow year, it usually only lasts a day or two. I know some of you have it forever in the winter.

Paulissa, Ginger tea will warm you up. I hope you have something on hand. Also chicken broth with garlic.

Christmas will be leaner here, too. We have no grandchildren so we give gifts to our children, dil will be included this year, and I send something to Mom. Many years ago when our kids were little my sister suggested we not exchange. I have two friends I like to give a little something to and that is taken care of. About 3 years ago we started a new tradition. On Christmas Eve one of us reads a short story or an excerpt from a Christmas-related story. This year it's DS#1s turn, next year is my turn.

My honey of a husband did all my Monday house blessing! I walked him through some of it, but he did it. I was able to start the turkey brine and that's all set up. I'm doing some laundry, he'll help fold.

Praying for the ladies that are ill. Thats no fun. Paulissa, hope you can warm up soon. Come on over to our house, we have the wood stove going, and its WARM...lol

Is there any way that we can see in our personal emails if a message has been posted here on the group? Or do we just have to check in every day?

We are only buying for the grand kids this year. Well, we have done that for a few years. Times are hard, and it just makes the holiday season that much nicer, to not be shopping, shopping shopping, and worrying about all the money we are spending.

Lets see. We went to senior center for lunch, I shoveled out a path to the burning barrel, and burned papers, I brought in 2 wheelbarrel loads of wood for the stove, and I washed a load of clothes, and will hang them in the room by the fire before we go to bed. Thats about it for me today.

I have been really achy all over lately. I think the cold and fibro do not get along very well...

I did make a recipe out of that cookbook. But I will not tell you until Dec. sorry...

Have a great evening all.

David has pledged his help in the kitchen for which I am quite thankful. I just can't get warm to save my soul!!!

Hi all,
Just wanted to pop in and say hello. You all seem so busy and Vicki I must say you certainly are organized. I have a few presents bought for my daughter and that's about it. I do a lot of online shopping. I hate to shop especially in crowds.
Jan and Paulissa I hope you both get to feeling better. I loved the pot holders Paulissa. I too want to get my tree up but will wait now until Fri. I wanted to get it up this weekend but we were so busy cutting and splitting wood that I just didn't have time. Plus I decorate my kitchen and dining room also so it takes me about 2 or 3 days to finish.
It's very cold and gloomy here today. Woke up to freezing rain.
Well back to my little ones. Everyone have a nice evening!!!

It started out nice and sunny but here at noon time it is clouding up. They say rain later tonight and for the next few days. I'll believe it when I see it.

I read the paper and headed out for lab work. Saw the sitting room was full and said I don't need that. Stopped at a WalMart that is further away and then came home. I took DH advice and made a lab app't. They just started doing the app't thing. We'll see how well it works on Wed. morning. At least that will be before Thanksgiving day.

Last night I watched a 4 hour movie on LMN while DH and DD watched football. The movie was about Coco Chanel. I really liked it. Tonight they are running The Thorn Birds. It will come on early before DWTS begins.

I shall do some early cooking on Wed. I'll make my Crustless Pumpkin pie, cook up my butternut squash and make my jello salad. Dh can have the kitchen on Thur. for the turkey. That is his job. Last year I told DD she was in charge of mashed potatoes. I guess she didn't take me seriously as we were just about ready to eat and no potatoes. She is no teeny bopper but a mature adult.

I hope everyone that is under the weather feels better soon. No fun facing the holidays and not feeling well.

Paulissa, hope you can kick whatever has taken you over by turkey day. Not feeling well makes everything we do seem harder and like more work than it really is. You will have to get David in the kitchen to help you out!

Enjoy your time before classes start again.
Loved the potholders!

I put the tree up yesterday; I bought a new one and didn't want to drag the box downstairs only to bring it back up at the end of the week so it is sitting in my living room, undecorated at the moment.

I am home sick today; my head is splitting, I have a fever, the stomach is blah and I can't warm up to save my soul. I figured it would be better for me to stay home and try to fight it today than to be sick later in the week esp. since I'm the one hosting dinner!!!

I'm glad you liked my potholders; I had lots of fun with them. Classes begin again for me next Monday so I'm trying to enjoy my time while I have it.

Got to get the dust off the skillet and the cobwebs out of the sauce pans. I'm going to start cooking - Fire Department is on standby.

No, it's not quite that bad, but I felt that everyone needed a chuckle. I'm looking forward to this new adventure. I've already marked a few recipes to try, now I've got to type them up and make my shopping list.

It's a grey, snowy day here in southeast MI. The weather people are saying possible 2-3 inches by rush hour tomorrow morning. YUCK ! ! ! Of course, I've got a Dr's appointment at 11:30. Hopefully the roads will be clear.

No classes this week due to the holiday. So I get to clean the house and brush up on the terminology.

If I don't get a chance I hope everyone has a healthy and happy Thanksgiving.

Jan, hope you are feeling better real soon. It is no fun being sick, especially at holiday times. Congrats on the keychain. I won a T-shirt about a year or so ago. Nice!

Woke up to a few inches of wet heat snow this morning. Shoveled part of the driveway and then a day care child came and we built a snowman. Not a real big one but it has arms and a carrot nose! Then a neighbor came over and plowed out the rest of the driveway. He almost plowed over the snowman.

I got LOTS of the wrapping done yesterday. I refused to take the gifts back into the bedroom so just kept wrapping till it was done. Just a few things left to do. Did get to listen to a little Christmas music too!

Looking forward to the cooking Club.

I am feeling a bit better today and have plans for Monday House Blessing (Flylady getting the house basics done on Monday) and Thanksgiving prep. emoticon

Yesterday I took out the tablecloth liner and figured out which tablecloth to use. I also made some potent garlic/onion/chicken broth soup and drank lemon ginger tea all day. I felt like I could breathe fire emoticon One good thing was I decided if I was still sick I could turn over the cooking to my son. I think he's roasted a turkey before. I know he loves to make gravy and carve. My youngest son is great to peel potatoes and help clear the table.

Hey, this morning when I logged in and spun the wheel I won a Sparkpeople keychain!! They said it will be 3 or 4 weeks to arrive. emoticon

Did you see Paulissa's post with pics of her potholders? Talk about cute!

Guess what? It's only one more week before Heather's Cooking Club starts (Make A Healthy Table) and everyone can join in because she has recipes from that book posted. Check out the Recipe section on this team. emoticon

What's going on in your neck of the woods?
