Good Evening, Too those of you that don't like day light saving time. Bah Humbug. Probably if I lived in Montana I wouldn't mind because it doesn't get dark so early. By 5 p.m. it will be dark here in So.Cal.
Deb, good job getting a great grade and having a hard course out of the way.
Louise, my DH and DD are big country western fans too.
Heather, my DD had some gadget change its own time a week early too.
Jan, everytime we have a big RV rally the ladies tie the knots in the fleece throws. Generally they will get at least 100 made and then they are donated to a childrens shelter or childrens hospital. I have to remember when I help not to wear black or navy pants.
Thanksgiving is generally an easy meal for me. The same thing every year. The bird and dressing are done by DH. The only thing he knows how to cook. I'll make mashed potatoes, butternut squash, green peas for some color, cranberry sauce, a fruit jello salad that has a custard topping and by request cheese biscuits. I generally make a crustless pumpkin pie but most of the time no one wants any but DH and I. I have no idea if DS plans to come or if he will take the long week end and take his motor home to the desert with the sand toys.
Hmmmmm thanksgiving. . .I was just thinking about that today.
I think it will be turkey, holiday scalloped potatoes (uses regular AND sweet for a savory feel), green bean casserole, a veggie salad, some fruit dish (not sure yet-maybe just a tossed fruit salad, crescent rolls, jellied cranberry sauce for me and David wants pumpkin-gingerbread cake. I'll let the guests bring pies and whatever else they want.
Working out teaches me about challenging, yet being patient with myself.

There are 1440 minutes in a day, set aside 30 for exercise.
Deb, Good going with the good grade! It's nice the next session will be less homework.
Iris, I'll be doing the usual turkey, dressing (or stuffing), mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry salad, sweet potatoes with the marshmallows on top and pumpkin dessert from HE.
Lynn, I'm so glad you joined right in. I really like the Boardinghouse Dilled Pea Salad. I haven't made the Chicken Pot Macaroni - let us know how you like it.
Well, I'm heading out for a walk. Check out my Spark page pics - I'm going to add one of that inflatable Halloween cats one of our neighbors had.
Here's an odd thing: our new nextdoor neighbors are renting the house. We saw some kind of velcro on the side of their house facing ours (they have no windows on that side). Then yesterday they put something on that which looks like a camera . Can't quite figure out why they would do that and don't know them well enough to ask.
It's a nice fall day here where I live. I love fall and the cool weather. This afternoon my family said that will be over. I never count on it but I sure hope they make it. I love seeing the little ones.
For lunch today I made:
Boardinghouse Dilled Pea Salad...yummy (From Easy and Economical)
also Chicken Pot Macaroni (From A Potful of Recipes)
This evening I think I am going to make hot dog chile. The kids like the little hot dog pieces and corn and no beans.
Hope everyone has a nice peacful Sunday afternoon. Lynn
I am not sure if I like the time change or not. I woke up at three and couldn't go back to sleep. I am dragging. One of my vcr's changed times on the 25th and I didn't know it so everything I thought I was recording this last week didn't record. GRRR!! Yes I do believe I do have the couch potato gene. I spend way too much time on computer. I have been working on my blogspot so much. I don't think I am much of a multi-tasker. I did get a beef stew on to cook this morning. I still have house to clean and do some laundry.
Thanksgiving is coming upon us. It will be here before we know it. What is everyone cooking for the holiday?
Gail, I am so sorry to hear that your husband had passed away. I didn't know.
It is much cooler here today. It feels nice.
Have a great day everyone and keep it a healthy one.
Did those of us who had to turn our clocks back survive this far? I feel more rested but hope I can go to bed in this different time frame tonight.
I will go to church this morning and then the afternoon is free. I like days with no claims on them. I hope to sit down with the November newsletter to see what looks good. I have to say I was a bit disappointed it did not have more of a Thanksgiving theme.
I was reading an article in Diabetes Forecast about a gene they are studying that makes some mice/rats/etc. less active. I think I have that gene. I do like walking outside in the neighborhood or, even better, the parks or trails but when rain hits that's a whole different ballgame. I'm working to get back to my exercise. How about you? Do you have that "couch potato" gene?
