Thank you every one for your kind thoughts. Yes, we were up early this morning. Planned to get up at 4 am but got a call at 3 am from the nursing home where DH's mom is, that she was not doing well. She is an hour and a half away from here. We tried to sleep for the next hour but neither of us did. Got up at 4 and were out of the house by 4:40. Got to the hospital at 5:15, got checked in, did all the preliminary stuff and they took DH up at 7am. At 7:10 his brother called to tell us his mother passed away. So I had to tell him when he came out of surgery. She was 94 and lived a long good life till the last few in the nursing home but DH still took it pretty hard. His brother is coming here at 8 am tomorrow morning (so we figure we have to be up by 6:30 to get him ready and fed) with his son-in-laws van to pick him up in the wheelchair to take him the hour and a half there to make the final arrangements. Then he will be bringing him back and going back home. We think the funeral will be Monday so he will probably do the same on Monday to get him there.
I am exhausted and have some things do here yet tonight and don't know if I can sleep anyway but going to try to get something else done here. It might be next week before I really get back to SP but if I get a chance I will at least try to keep up with reading the posts. Don't want to get too far behind!
I appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers.

I'm taking it easy today. Too much hard work yesterday but I do have about 6 soups in the freezer. I did make a fruit whatever. Cranberries, apple, orange, golden raisins, and some dried apricot all mixed together and cooked on the stove. Not a HE recipe but from some magazine and it did call for Splenda. It is in refrig. cooling. The rest of the day has been lost.
I hope Vicki's DH is doing well. That has got to be hard of her with day care and a man to fetch for. My DH is not a good patient. A cold will send him to bed for two days.
Well let's see, have I been productive today? Not very. I have been working on my blogspot and it seems to be addicting.
I have been looking at newsletter. I want to make the oven bbq'd roast. I think I would add a little brown sugar twin or splenda. I probably won't make it for awhile though as my dh won't be home for dinner the next few nights.
We are still having hot weather here and I am so anxious for it to cool off.
What's cooking in your kitchens? I liked the recipes in October's newsletter better than November's. Maybe I just haven't looked at close enough yet. Sunday Swiss Steak sounds good.
I hope the shoulder surgery went well for Vicki's dh. I think that is who it was.
Good afternoon--we had our first winter storm Tuesday night (though it isn't even winter yet!) and our power just came back on. The snow was very heavy and wet with winds up to 40 mph, so there was a lot of damage to trees and power lines. We survived thank to my husband's ingenuity in keeping the fires going, but it was cold. It's great to be back on line!

It is a sunny day here in southern Ontario. You can see the leaves falling quickly now, especially whenever a slight breeze comes up. It is about 45*/7*C.
I got a haircut this morning. This afternoon I have a massage scheduled. Tonight is a ladies' meeting at the church. We will find out who our secret sister was for the past year. We usually have a gift for our secret sister when we do the 'reveal'. Mine was a young lady who got married this summer. I picked up some Christmas decorations for her since this will be their first Christmas together.
