Good morning Louise & everyone else,
It's a foggy, foggy morning here and looks like it will be cooler (57). We should see some sunshine when the fog burns off. We want to go to the state park and some other trails today.
Yesterday we went to a park we don't know so well. It was a good time of year because it wasn't soggy, muddy or flooded. We heard the same birds (nuthatch) we hear in our own back yard but did see a tiny, brown bird - I can't remember what we thought it was. We did see a bounty of porcinis and other mushrooms. The trails were marked for miles but it was hard to tell because we can usually walk that distance in much shorter time. In all we were out there for 3 hours. Some sections were just like walking in the forest, others were thickly brushed trails with a canopy of tree branches overhead, eventually we came out to grassland and then the ocean. Walked back along the bay (1.8 miles) - which went much faster than the first section so I tend to think we walked farther than 1.1 miles in that first section. Unfortunately after that we were all hungry and I didn't have a plan so DH wanted to go to a burger place. I hope I didn't undo the benefit of the walk but it's clear to me I need to plan better.
Louise, I hope you were able to go to the new church and all went well. It sounds involved to do assessments on the two year olds. When my kids were that age I really enjoyed hearing how they were coming along.
