We moved the furniture and it's so much better! Didn't pull a weed but I did get out in the yard. The doggone deer were in our yard again. More green tomatoes gone and all the spinach and swiss chard. Once again DH worked on getting the deer netting secure. We can't finish our fence where they are getting in until the neighbor puts in the bulkhead. There's a 4' dropoff and our land is eroding - caused by current owner removing a bulkhead frame the previous owner who cut into our land put in. How's that for a long tale of woe!
Now for the best part. My friend and I had the best time garage saling and came home with wonderful bargains. We went to about 5 sales and everything was reasonable to downright cheap. I got 6 beautiful tall glasses on a stem for twenty five cents each, a fleece hat to wear on hikes, 3 clear glass candleholders still in package, a small wall hanging quilt of a house and trees in autumny colors, new-looking shirt for DH, several good CDs.
Judy, I know what you mean about not getting too many groceries when you are walking. I had a friend once who told me she just couldn't manage with the groceries and had to hide a sack in the bushes on the way home. Lol.
Iris, it sounds like you are making progress! I'm glad you could take a break and do some crafts today.

It is 64* in southern Ontario. It looks like rain. I just got home from walking to the library. I stopped to get a couple groceries on my way by the store. When you are walking, you don't pick up a lot of extras because they can get mighty heavy by the time you get home.
By the end of the year I would like to be 10 pounds less but probably 5 is more realistic for me. I, too, will have to be careful over the holidays. I think it was almost June (this year) before the last of Christmas left.

It is going to be a hot one today. My patio is already 80.
I am going to work on crafts today. I want to make a wreath for the entry hall in blues and yellows and rusty reds. I have to go to Joann's and look for the flowers first.
When we finish painting the living room we have to skip over the dining room to doing the extra room where absolutely everything under the sun is stored. We are going to put the computer in there from where it is in the dining room now. but I have such a large computer hutch we have to clean that area and paint and lay the floor in there before it can go in there, I have to keep pushing my dh to keep at it. I can't say I blame him. Our sil is going to help us lay the flooring and with the new wall. I am trying to keep it organized as we go along. It will be worth it when everything is done.
By the end of this year I would like to have not been swept away with all the eating that goes on during the holidays. I would like to weigh 10 or 15 lbs less. I would like more energy. I really hope that by then we are farther along on the house.

It's just turning daylight here and I see some clouds but we're in for a nice weekend.
Today we move the living room furniture. The current arrangement seemed like a good idea - until we had company. Good grief we could hardly see each other - so time to change that!
Then I plan to spend time out in the garden. Weeding and tidying. My green beans are still growing. Raccoons or something ate my ripening tomato- so those are off my list next year. They are hard enough to grow anyway in this climate. Lots of spider webs out there this time of year.
Question: Where would you like to be by the end of this year?
I would like to be 10 lb. lighter, exercising every day and making wise food choices. I also hope my son is employed and back on his feet.
