Well, I enjoyed watching Valerie Parr Hill's show on QVC's Christmas in July. Didn't buy a thing - just got some ideas. The kickoff Christmas show had an amazing inflatable Santa sitting in an overstuffed chair. It looked so realistic! He sort of waved his arm and could say 14 things. I wonder if we'll see it in someone's yard when we drive around to look at Christmas lights this year.

Judy: I haven't seen Mama Mia and I know DH won't want to see it. Maybe a friend will want to go. My TOPS group is doing a walking challenge. I can't remember where we're going but we're only doing it for two more weeks and then we'll see who went the farthest. I do not like exercise and the only way I blasted out of my chair is when my doctor told me how important it was because diabetes fights weight loss. So it's a "I do it because it's good for me" thing. I love drying things on the clothesline. I'll wash and hang my bedding out there tomorrow.

Vicki: Sorry to hear the walking made your legs hurt. It's good not to overdo. That cat does look like Bobbi- how funny!

Ann: So the dental glue someone used isn't that great? Yikes! I hope it's not any I have in my mouth. That's so neat about having a quilt made of your baby clothes and also winning a quilt. So glad your passport came. Now you can relax and just get ready for the trip. Will you go to Buchart Gardens? I've walked through the Empress Hotel but never had tea there - if I ever go again I want to have tea.

Deb: I hope the NWLB training comes through soon. It's difficult when someone says "call every week" and then says "I'll call you". Leaves you not sure what to think about the organization of it. At least you had some nice sunny days.

WE've had a couple of beautiful days here in MI. They say nice until next week - with a chance of a shower on Sat.

Nothing new to report on the job search, but I did talke to my case worker for the NWLB training and one time see said to call her every week, now it's she'll call me. She's working on Dec clients, and I'm in March. She said that she's probably going thru 10 a week - - - - let's see 4 mos, equals 16 weeks, at 10 a week ? ? ? ? Maybe - who knows? I AM TIRED OF HURRYING UP TO WAIT ! ! ! ! ! Maybe, I'll qualify for medicare before I get the funds for training after all it's only 7 years away.

Ann, I hope your passport shows up soon. Are you goinng on a cruise? I've been to Victoria BC back in 86, when Vancouver hosted the Worlds Fair. Come to think of it, that was my first trip to the NW.

Hope everyone has a good evening and see ya all tomorrow.

Good Afternoon. We havne't heard from Heather in a few days, I hope she is on vacation or at least having a good time.

I had a dental check up late this morning. While he was cleaning my teeth he knocked out an inlay. He said he wasn't surprised as he quit using that glue 4 months ago. I think about 75% of the time when we travel I have had to have a dental app't in some state. Once in Prince Edward Island, Canada I'm laying in the dental chair and there is a TV in the ceiling to watch. I'm all glued back together again.

I wasn't very happy reading the paper this morning and seeing that Passport Cards won't start mailing right away. When I told DH, he says we have ours don't we? Now what does he think we're at home waiting on. I did go on line from a website on my application and it says I should receive my on or around Aug. 24th. We're suppose to be in a campground in Vancouver, B.C. on Aug. 27th.

Mary, I have a quit my grandmother made and the mateial in it is from fabric from my baby clothes. Did I tell you ladies about the quilt I won. One of our RV friends loves to make quilts. She has one of those long arm machines that does the quilting. Every year she donates one to be raffled off at an annual rally to raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation. This year she decided that maybe she could make more money if she sold chances on the quilt. She raised $3,200.00 plus some odd amount and with other fun raising at the rally they were able to give just over $6,000. to Make A Wish. AND my DH ticket won the quilt. It it queen size, has a cream colored back ground with a big start in the center in colors of maroon. The pattern is called Broken Star.

Jan, I can't even think of Christmas shopping. I do most of mine with the check book. I hate paying the cost of postage. Have you completed the four mile walking tape? I'm doing good to do the 2 mile one every once in a while. I'd rather do a one mile a couple of times.

Judy, we don't go to the movies very often but I too thought Mama Mia sounded good. I'm glad to hear you liked it.

I just brought the mail in and you can't believe what was in it. Our passport cards. DH will have me packing. I know he will say, I told you not to worry.

Jan, check out my friends on my SparkPage, the first one right next to yours. What do you think of the two pictures? Looks like the same kitty!

Have a good day!

Good morning,

Judy, isn't that the truth? Seems Christmas just was here. Just finished that shopping and now we are doing it again. The holidays come around faster each year. Enjoy your walk!

Got a walk in again last night but my legs really hurt. Going to take a break today.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Vicki

I just finished hanging laundry outside. One of the things I like about summer is that I don't have to use the dryer.

Hubby just left for work. He works part-time driving for Handi-Transit. Before he retired, he drove city bus. One would think he would want to try something different but he really likes what he does - much better than city bus. (Handi-Transit picks up people with mobility issues and takes them to appointments or dialysis. A few take it to work but most have medical problems and can no longer work.)

At TOPS yesterday, my weight stayed the same. Our leader read us the exercise challenge to get from Chicago to Orlando. (TOPS members will know what I am talking about. It is a challenge to get us moving more.)

I have a couple of Leslie Sansone's tapes. I use them more in the winter when I can't walk outside. They are very good.

Have you gone to see "Mama Mia" yet? My granddaughter and I went Tuesday afternoon. We both enjoyed it.

Now I have to walk to the library to return books my husband forgot to drop off yesterday. I should be upset with him because they are his books but I will be able to count my walking minutes so I didn't nag at him. emoticon

Christmas shopping... You mean I have to do that AGAIN. emoticon

Wow - did you realize we're just 5 months from Christmas Eve? emoticon

I know Vicki has started Christmas shopping, how about the rest of you? We've got all adults in the family (no grandchildren at least yet emoticon ) but we all enjoy surprises in our Christmas stockings and that is fun to shop for.

It's going to be a nice day here - blue sky and sunshine already so it will be another gardening day.

I've been doing Leslie Sansone's new Walk Slim dvds - 4 mile workouts. Today will be the third of the 10 day challenge. Something ought to give!

Come tell how your day is going!
