I find it easier to ride the recumbent bike or go for a bike ride too. Aqua exercise is also easy on my chronic pain. Good luck! emoticon

Hello! I am new to this team. Chronic pain is my biggest issue now. I have fibromyalgia, arthritis . Bursitis in both hips, moderate arthritis & bone spurs in both knees & feet and spinal stenosis. If I stand or walk too long, my legs and feet become tingling and painful. Going to a grocery store is torture for me. I know I could do the wheel chairs but I am not ready to do that yet. (Pride can be painful. ) but, I can ride a bike. I have been going to the gym and riding a stationary or recumbent bike. I can do the weight machines because I sit while doing them. Getting this extra weight off is very important to me! It will make a huge difference in what I can do and my mobility now and later on. However, when the pain gets bad, I often crave the good ol comfort foods! Sugary, carby, high calorie stuff! Temporary fix for the mood but a big detriment to the body! Willpower can be hard to come by when you feel miserable! I look forward to meeting & learning from you!

Today I go to the doctor to see if he will release me for work. I am hoping he will and I am hoping that I will be able to tolerate a full 8 hr shift. I have been off work for the past 6 months and have been thinking lately that if I can deal with the pain and still function at home, why can't I deal with the pain and function at work. So keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

On a good note, with the help of my rollator walker I was able to do the laundry yesterday, the first time I have washed, dried, folded and put away the laundry in a year. GO ME!!!!

Hi all.
It's been awhile since I have posted here so now I am back.
Today I got up in a good mood with minimal pain so I am going to walk across the street and go to the store to get quarters to do laundry and then go to Goodwill to pick up a printer. I believe the printer will fit on my walker seat so I can get it back home., I can't wait until I have a printer, I really need one with all the communications I have been getting from my lawyers.
I just had a wonderful visit with my son and his fiancee earlier this week. I haven't seen him in 7 years, it was really nice to see him and meet his fiancee. The visit was not long enough, he was only in town for about 5 days because he was here more for business than for a vacation. Next time I see him I hope that it will be a vacation.
Tomorrow I have to go to the doctor to be examined by a workers comp claim, I hope for my sake I am not feeling this good or else I may lose my appeal with workers comp

Well gotta go do my errands. Hope everyone has a good day.

I been really busy doing yard work this week and my back is yelling at me for it. Was cutting the grass with an electric weed eater and only being able to do a little bit each day.

Did not get anything done in the house like I wanted to but feeling good about the yard. So trying to look at the accomplishments instead of what I have not accomplished and praise myself for what we have gotten done.

Bud my husband is going in for a sleep test sunday evening and been summens for jury duty on monday at 8am So Tim one of our sons is going to help me with the paper routes monday morning and hoping to get it totally done by the time Bud gets out of his test.

I went from 210 lbs to 205 lbs in one week. emoticon

Well I have been calling the neurologist that specializes in movement disorders for the last three weeks to try to get an appointment; they need the Doctor to review the records that were faxed from the first neuro before they can set one up. Finally I got word from them, even though they specialize in movements disorders they are unable to help me; they deal more with people with Parkinson Disease. So, they have called the first neuro and told them to refer me to another neurologist that specialized in movement disorders. I am now being referred to the neurologists at Barrows Neurological Institute and I know it is going to take forever to get an appointment to get in to see anyone.
My medical leave, short term disability and my insurance all end on 4/22 so I will be applying to the state for help. Since I live alone I am hoping that the state will help me by giving me money to help me pay my rent until I get SSDI (providing that I get approved).
This past year has been a trial on me, I have never hurt so much for so long. I just want someone to tell me why I have the uncontrollable leg shakes. I think it's the not knowing that is frustrating but being passed from one doctor to another is beyond frustrating.

Hope you all have a good week.

Hi everyone yesterday I went to the doctor just for my usual 3 month check in and found out that since the beginning of the year I have gained 13lbs back. I told him that I have cut down on what I been eating and said what is next on losing this weight. All he said to me is get up and move around a lot more but be careful.

I thought man that is so helpful so been looking up more chair exercises and found out there is a lot more out there then I thought there was.

Thinking I need to figure out how to get the umph up to get moving knowing that once I get started with a task I stay on it until it is done for that section at least. Then I need the umph to get up the next day to do the same thing.

I told dh that maybe I should just walk around the house a lot to get in 2 or 3 miles a day going in a circle until this rain stops. But that is boring to do that every day several times (I know excuses, excuses). When the weather is good enough to go outside I can take one dog to the corner and back, (since we have three dogs) that would be three trips to the corner and back. the round trip is about 1/2 mile so that would get me 1 1/2 miles a day as long as I keep it up.

Weather here in California is raining, in the summer time it can get up over 100 at times. So need some suggestions on how to make the exercise fun so it would be more like play time so to speak.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

Shirley

It sounds like things are moving along, Sindia, as you wisely keep a careful eye on your insurance - good for you! This must be such a stressful time for you, as if having to see this "new neuro" (little play on words there!) weren't enough to face. I have a feeling everything will ultimately work out to your benefit, but this "holding pattern" period sure is difficult... Keep us posted on how things are moving along for you... emoticon

Thanks Lola_Lala. I went to a neurologist on the 11th and they are referring me to another neurologist that specializes in movement disorder. It has been decided after talking with my PCP that I will not be going back to work and will be applying for SSDI. I am waiting until the last minute to tell my work that I won't be back, I cant lose my insurance quite yet.

emoticon to you, Sindia, and I'm sorry your neurosurgeon has been so completely unhelpful. You know what? As daunting and frustrating as it is, I might try another neurologist. I'd also talk to the pain-management doctor about this problem and ask for suggestions.

I feel so bad about your going back to work when you've got so very much to deal with... I feel they've let you down, and it makes me angry. Doctors can be so cold.

Okay, went to my neurosurgeon today about the uncontrollable muscle twitches and spasms and he told me there was nothing he could do and that I needed to see a psychiatrist. Really? That moron thinks its all in my head. He also suggested I go to a neurologist, I told him that I had already seen two neurologists and they told me they didn't know what was wrong with me and the other places I tried won't see me because my back surgery is not a year old. He said they are lying because they don't want to deal with it.
Man, I swear these doctors are not worth my time and money anymore. I am so frustrated I don't even know what to do anymore.
I think I am going to go to my pain management doctor and tell me to release me for work. I figure if I can deal with my pain and the uncontrollable muscle twitches and spasms at home I can deal with them at work and get paid for it instead of being paid two thirds of my pay from short term disability.

I hope everyone has a good week. I am expecting my week to get better. emoticon

Hi I lost track of me since the beginning of this year. Been going through a lot of things with going to doctors and finding out that on top of my back problems, I have OA in my knee and bone spurs in my left knee.

I been facing a lot of stress, dealing with my second daughter. She decided to move out in the middle of the night and only take what she could easily put in one suitcase, and move to her bf's which we got told is homeless. Plus she changes bf's at least once every 1 to 2 months.

I collapsed at my son's wedding on Jan 4th, while I was dancing with my 3 yr old grandson. after that is when I found out about my knee problem.

My oldest daughter that lives in WA state and I are making a goal to lose 20 lbs by May 26th to help both her and I to have better health. So I asked the dr what I can do and he said to walk, and very low impact aerobics to not put pressure on my knees/back, aqua exercises(I can not afford).

I decided with my health issues, (OA, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and stress) I am going to have a notebook with me and take notes throughout the day every day to keep track of my intake(food), and output (exercise) along with blood test, bp, and stress levels.

Need a drastic changes in my life.

hugs

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Everyone, I do not make resolutions I make goals. Resolutions to me is something that people do not stick up to for long. Goals on the other hand is something that a person strives to meet.

1. Of my goals this year is to get my dl back.
2. exercise on a regular basis even if that is a different kind of exercise each time
3. declutter my home to make it more liveable
4. get to know my new daughter in law (my son is getting married Jan 4, 2014)
5. learn more about my health issues and how to handle them better
6. get our online business making money and make things to put on the site more regularly
7. make healthier choices

those are my top seven goals.

The first one is getting worked on this month Monday Jan 6th I go see the doctor that took my dl for apparent no reason.

So we are already working on that.
The decluttering both dh and I are working daily on that one.

Hugs
Shirley

I have had migraines since I was a teenager (20+ yrs). Yesterday was by far the worst one I have ever had. I wanted so bad to go to the hospital to get some sort of relief but didn't. I know how hospital people think a lot of us are drug seeking - eventhough we are NOT! And I just did not have the energy to deal with it. I have never gone to the hospital either and did not know what to expect. I was not sure if I was going to make it through the night I hurt that bad.

my husband was wonderful and so helpful through it. Today is not so good. But I am battling through and made it to work. Not sure if I will stay though. My throat hurts from throwing up so much and the migraine made the area from mid scalp to mid back solid as a rock. I can barely turn my head it's so stiff. The pain in my head when I look down makes me want to throw up. I feel like I'm moving like a robot. Ughhh...sorry to complain. I just feel so sick today and know most of you can relate.

Good Monday afternoon to everyone, hope everyone is having a half way pain bearable day. I am new to this team but not to SP. I have Fibromyalgia and Migraines for about 4yrs now and some days get really tough to get up and do the right thing. Today is an okay day for me so far.

Welcome back Sheila, glad you are here, as you can see, things were quiet while you were gone.

I think we lost a lot of people while we were leaderless, but I think If we are perky and active, some of them will come back. I was glad to see some one step up as leader. Thank you Sheila!

I was sick for two weeks, and have gained back almost all of my weight, but I am determined to lose, so I am going acive on my program again.

"MCDIDDLYD" Update:

Hi team, sorry I have been away for so long. First my daughter from Washington D.C. came down to Georgia to my house for a visit. Well, she got so sick and in so much pain. Long story short she had to have surgery she had gall stones. I had to look after her for a month.

Then we had a dear friend to pass away. After that one of my husbands friend from Tennessee came down to visit for a few days.

Then while all this was going on, you know I was in so much pain. I had to go to the doctor with my back and neck. They put a shot in my neck and then they put one in my low back with an x-ray. I have been feeling like I was just going to die at times. All they do is keep upping my pain med, but I do understand that is all they can do for me. For those of you that don't know about my health problems just go to my home page and you can read about me there. Also my knee that I had surgery on months ago didn't help one little bit I'm still in pain with it. I'm so sorry for being gone so long, I have missed all of you so much. I'm still in a lot of pain everyday so I will get on-line as much as I can. I know it want be everyday like I use too. Please know all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Please I beg you to keep me in yours, for I don't know how much more I can take with this pain.

I had a harder time with the pain, the Dr increased my Norco from four times a day to every four hours. But now I must pay for some of it myself, as it is beyond the range of what the insurance will pay for. It'about $120 a month, and for me, that is a MAJOR percentage of my income. I am trying to work on diet management, decreasing my fat intake, which always helps my pain.

On the home front, my mom, who broke her back 7/30, will be coming home from the rehab on 10/21. Papi is undestandably very excited. I have the Stanley Steemer coming on the 18th, and I am going to make the whole house beautiful before she comes, It will be nice to have Mom home again, but it will mean a lot of extra work for me.

I am surprised that NOBODY has been posting here at all. Where did everybody go? How about one of you more experienced folks stepping up and acting as team leader?

I am just now getting going on my weight loss again, I had to defer it for a while, due to health issues. But I am feeling positive.

How is everyone doing?

I have had a few good days where the pain is not so intense. I love days like that. They make me feel like I have an actual life....and I get giddy knowing I can have good days!

Ah, there's the rub! I already take ativan--sister to valium- when I take norco, and I find myself needing more of it than I want to be taking. Ideally, my ativan dosing is one during the day and one at night (one milligram). But lately I have been needing to dose myself every time I take pain medication (four times a day) and it still isn't covering the symptoms!

I have consulted with a couple of doctors, and I might consult with the pain doctor to make it official, but I think I may be switching everything around. No more patch--there are a lot of sustained release medications. and for breakthrough--well either percocet or dilaudid were recommended for their having relatively little anxiety in the adverse effects department. Apparently the dilaudid means a longer wait time at the drugstore whole they do a ?Background check? against your ID. I don't know about this. It's a tricky area.

It always amazes me that we are all basically the same, but our reactions to medications can be sooo different. Some patients find the right pain med on the first try while others spend months or even years trying different formulations to get just the right amount of pain relieve without too many side effects. Yet medicine is considered a science!!! Coming from a medical family, I often think it's more guess work than anything else.
Margie have you thought about just adding a small amount of diazepam or some anti anxiety med to take with the Norco. If the Norco works for the pain, it might be easier to fix the side effects than start all over. I'm a classically trained chef so don't take my advice on anything more complex than Hollandaise. emoticon

I have been getting a lot of anxiety lately from my Norco--every time I take it I get anxious. So I am going to see if I can get by without it. If I can't I am going to have to switch to something else like percocet. I am just hoping that with diet management my pain will be less.

You must have been what the doctors call "opiate naive"--ie,. you had not ben exposed to the opiates before. I would tend to agree with you, Vicodin ER could be a lot for a first time dose, It has 7.5mg of hydrocodone in it. There is also a medication called Vicoprofen= hydrocodone and ibuprofen. Some find it more effective than vicodin. Medication administration for pain tends unfortunately to be a process of trial and error. It takes a lot of patience, and a lot of support. I understant the first dose gave you hallucinations. Oftentimes the first dose will give more extreme reactions than any susequent doses, it's a matter of the body getting use to the medicine.

Best wishes to you finding the most effective combination.

Much love,
Margie

Thank goodness, your brother is pitching in now. When my mom had terminal cancer, there were so many of us helping out that no one had to be there every day. I always tell people, helping a sick family member is something you'll never regret doing...ever.

My doctor gave me another prescription for Vicodin, this time the 5 mg...suggesting I take the higher dosage in the morning and the lower dosage in the evening. She also said the side effects will likely ease up after I've been on it for a few more days. I think it may already be easing up, no hallucinations last night...of course, it could have been the lower dosage too. At least it helps with the pain.

My brother is now quite helpful. when the fall first happened and everything was chaos (I took care of Mom at home for the first three days before she went back to the hospital) Bob stopped by to offer support, but after that there was a brief hiatus where he stepped back. He was under pressures of his own at the time, finishing up a job where he was being laid off, so he could get a bonus. As he is now unemplyed but looking, he steps in often and is most helpful, and I really appreciate it. Bob is 45, and I think the combination of his layoff, his age and seeing his Mom so vunerable may have sent him into a sort of mid-life self-evaluation.I don't think it is a crisis, but it seems to be a time where he is doing a lot of thinking about things. His son is 12, and his daughter, 5, and she just entered full-day kindergarten. There is something in the sending your youngest off to school. I guess it makes you ponder your own mortality.

Tonight we are all getting together-Mom, Dad, me, Bob, his wife Natalie and the 2 kids-to have a pizza birthday party at the rehab anniversary party for Mom and Dad--it is number 48 for them. At first I was very nervous abou making sure everything went right, but then I realized that what is most important is all of us getting together.

I have been diagnosed with toasted skin syndrome from using my heating pad too much-anyone else ever heard of it? I have to stop the heating pad and go to a dermatologist to get some special healing creams. I am dismayed, because the heating pad was a very effective tool for me.

In general, life is not too bad, with Mom progressing well and everyone else being generally healthy and happy, and I thank God for that. I thank you all as well for all your support.

Much Love,
Margie

Glad to hear that you have plan B figured out just in case, with your brother. My brother who is the oldest and still lives in CA where my parents lived couldn't seem to find any time to help with Mom or Dad. The rest of my siblings are spread out across the country, Denver, Dallas, Michigan and I live in Florida. Since I am the disabled one, and therefore don't have to be at a job everyday (like keeping my body functioning isn't a fulltime job itself) it fell to me to fly back and forth to CA.
My sisters helped out when they could get off but 2 are doctors and have schedule filled with patients weeks in advance. The other sister is just getting on her feet after the dissolution of a 40 year marriage. They did what they could do, when they could do it.
My brother never lifted a finger. Either to make a phone call or drive over and visit. Let alone grocery shopping, driving to dialysis, etc. After Mom died, it became apparent that Dad couldn't live on his own. He asked my brother if he could move into his "in law suite" so he could live out his days in CA where he was born .My brother denied my Dad's only request so we brought him here to FL (where he hated the weather and missed his mountains), where he died in 2 short months.
Be very grateful that you have a brother that you can count on. Tell him for me that he is a special person...just like his sister! I know this is going to be hard but could you please give yourself a good pat on the back from me? Caregiving is a tough job!

I am a religious person (I am Jewish, but raised Methodiist) and the good book tells us to Honor our Father and Mother. Where would I be if I did not fo for them as they did for me all the years when I was growing up and they took care of me?

Honestly, I love them dearly, from the whole of my heart. If it were not in me to take care of them, I would ask for the help from my brother, or from the numerous agencies that are available to the seniors who happen to have Medicare.

Mom has been with me all the last ten years of hospitalizations and home visits, for my own illness, now that my illness is under control, it's time that I should give back to her. I love her and I love my father as well.

Meanwhile, my home is orderly, all caught up on the housework, I did it myself, proud to say I got through the crisis on my own with support of our loving community of friends praying and visiting Mom. Hopefully within the next four to five weeks she will be back home and we will all be our little famly group again, only stronger and healthier.

Good Lord you have a lot of stress on your plate right now!!! I know what it's like taking care of sick parents, I did that for most of the last 4 years. But my parents took turns being sick at least! Mom first and then after she died, Dad went downhill so fast it was astounding. I really don't know how you are taking care of everyone at the same time.
Then of course, add in your own health issues and you are a walking, talking miracle! You had better be very careful with your own day to day health or your house of cards is going to fall all over your head. Low potassium levels can actually kill you because it's responsible for keeping your heart beating. I was very low earlier in the year and every time I bent over I would faint. What a pain in the butt. Real hard to get any work done when you keep fainting, ya know? Eat lots of potato skins, both white and sweet, avocados and tomato products. Potassium levels can be brought up quickly, within 2 weeks.
You impress me with your dedication to your family and their well being. Some children would just walk away and say they didn't have the time or the patience. You should be very proud of your efforts on behalf of your parents. emoticon

Fortunately for Me and my mother, it's a drug we CAN take. We take norco, which is like vicodin, but with less of the acetaminophen in it. Other pain relieving narcotics make us see bats (me) or cause paranoia (Mom). It's a good thing that there are several different strong pain releivers avaiable-and not all are even narcotic. Mom and I have found that the Tylenol in the Norco helps almost as much as the hydrocodone. But the combinaation of ingredients works well together. Lots of combination products out there, too. Best of luck to you in finding a mediction that works well for you with few to no side effects--it's a process of trial and error, and takes a little patience.

Sorry I've been away for so long...trying to work full time and deal with the pain of RA and OA is exhausting. Got a prescription for Vicodin last week....whew!! I never knew that stuff could cause hallucinations...like, major hallucinations. I see my regular doc in the morning...going to have to ask her if we can try something else. The Vicodin helped with the pain, but keeps me awake all night with nightmarish pictures flashing behind my eyes all night long...I don't need that!

Hi Sarah,
Sorry haven't been on, Mom fell and broke back 10 days ago, took care of her first 3 days at home! The we took her to er, and at ER I had an auto immune stroke, was on steroids for a week, fine now, but dealing with ongoing stress of trying to find right pain regimen for Mom--it took 4 tries!! We finally settled on 2 norco 5/325 every 4-6 hours with dilaudid for breakthrough pain. The dilaudid makes mom very loopy, so I try to discourage the staff from using too much of it.

I've had a lot of stress, lost 20 pounds in the last 2 weeks, due to malnutrition and the treatment for it-was on diuretics and steroids. Now trying to eat right, and wanting to start working out, but trying to find the time is hard, because I still have Dad here with Parkinson's to take care of a little bit.

So I have been using lots of supplements to get my nutrition on the right levels. Otherwise I get cramps from low K and MG.

So far, I have been manageing to hold up, due to good peer support, both here and another online site, as well as at my religious home base.

Sorry I haven't been here more often, I am sure you understand!

Thats a good deal that you get to stay with them for free....and I know they appreciate all the help you give them. I could have moved in with my parents but I decided I'd rather have a house of my own so I live alone with 2 yorkes.
My parents are both 86. My mom is blind and in a wheelchair...dad has glaucoma and is losing his vision. I take them for appointments but they care for themselves right now (My dad does it all) I know I will be helping them much more in the future.
I'm sure as your parents age you will have more and more responsibility. It is good that they have you.

Hi Sarah and all,
My agoraphobia keeps me from going anywhere fun, like everywhere, but I am working on it. I went to the pool run by our Park District last week for the first time in years. It really felt good, and reminded me of the days when I used to swim a lot
I live with my parents, who let me stay here rent free, and in exchange, I feel it only prudent that I help out around the house. I am 46, Mom is 70 and Dad is 74. I have been slacking lately, and it must stop.
Most Pain Specialists are anesthesiologists as well, at least as far I know.

Ayla...so sorry to hear about your issues. I had not heard of lymphangieclasia.
I don't have agoraphobia...but I often feel like a hermit. Do you go out to see your doctor or for appointments? Do you go out for anything? Just wondering.
Do you live alone? Just wondering since I HAVE to go out to get groceries and other things.
So you're saying a pain doctor is sorta a specialist on pain. I probably need to go and see what they say.
I know it will be hard for me to get the meds I am on now with another doctor. I use fentanyl patches which many doctors are afraid of. But they really help keep me from taking tons of narcotics.

Hi Sarah,
I have an unusual condition called lymphangiectasia, which causes benign tumors of the intestine. I have been to a pain doctor before, at various times when my pain was out of control and my primary doctor needed ideas about prescribing the best medication. My doctor originally felt skiddish about prescribing strong narcotics, but felt more comfortable after the pain doctor recommended them. Now I only go to the pain doctor when there is a problem with my regimen.
There are many good books out there about managing chronic pain, as well as support groups. I have agoraphobia and don't leave the house, but I belong to various groups online.

Best wishes to you with your new physician.

Hi, I just joined this team. I have fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease, RA and Graves disease. I see a specialist for my thyroid disorder on Wednesday for the first time.
My doctor just sold his practice and is retiring. Now I have to find another doc and the meds I am on are not ones most doctors want to prescribe.
Wondering if any of you guys go to a pain clinic and if so how you like it. I am considering that option.
Today my pain level is really high...but I felt good yesterday and really pushed myself to get chores done. Haven't quite figured out pacing myself.
I look forward to getting to know you all.
Gentle hugs,
Sarah

The last few days I have been using the max dose of my pain meds, with a side effect that I can't go to the bathroom. I guess I will have to cut back for a while, until things normalize a little bit. Not only do the fentanyl and Norco cause it, but so do the thorazine, cymbalta, and topamax (these three I take not only for pain but also for bipolar disorder). I need to also increase my fluid intake and and eat more fruit an veggies, and get more active. I think that if I do all of this, things should be back to normal in a few days.

Other than that, my life is getting pretty good. I am just starting to take a therapeutic dose of Abilify for depression, and after two weeks I can really feel it kicking in!

Woke up in increadable pain today. I have to admit that it took me longer to get going today, but I did get going. Did my Turbofire DVD for today. Still hurting though. I might have to take me nerve pain meds tonight. Haven't taken one in almost two weeks. I was starting to think that eatting right and exercising might be curing me. Maybe there is still hope?

Pain seems to be increasing. I am going to bed now, I hope I can sleep. I have fibro, arthritis, and neurapathy among others. Hope when I wake up the Dutchess of Cambridge has had her baby/babies. I'm still holding out hope she has twins.

Happiness grows inside me.

Hello there everyone, I guess this is the general discussion page. My name is Ayla, and I have a disease called lymphangietasia. My intestine can't absorb fat, and fat makes it swell and burts microscopically, but the swelling is general and I look like I am pregnant. I can only tolerate small amounts (about 30 grams) of fat from all sources per day. I use fentanyl and Norco. I was on Abilify last year, and it made me gain 50 pounds, which I am now trying to lose. Abilify helped the pain, but it made me very dopey, and inactive. And very hungry. I am glad not to take it anymore, even if it means more pain.

emoticon We had a death in my family, my cousin. He was only 51 years old and they don't know what happen to him. His wife found him in his bathroom floor that morning.

Also I have been in so much pain till I was at the point of no return. I just wanted to die for a whole week but thank God for my sister talking to me everyday. I would not be here now if it wasn't for her. I go to see my pain doctor tomorrow and I hope he can do something to help with all this pain I have been in with my back and knee. So please keep me in your prayers. I know I ask this of you all the time but I am in so much of need. Thank you and God bless each and everyone of you!

Managed to walk on treadmill for 20 minutes today...kept checking in with my body to see how I was feeling, focusing on keeping core tight seemed to help with my balance issues. Did some stretching when I finished, now to see how this affects my pain and stiffness later...

Rosy1326: I have been in and out of Physio since 2010. Your experience is not uncommon. I also got many exercises and tens and heat. I think the majority of the things can be done at home after getting proper techniques down. I did find traction helped a little, but 90% of the things I could do just as if not more comfortably at home! I got referred again post surgery and same deal....thankfully my physiotherapist finally got me a referral to an osteopath and told me there was no point in me coming in. She loaned me a tens unit and I am waiting for the osteopath appointment. I personally would not waste my money on Physio..... Maybe massage therapy or osteopath....not sure what you are dealing with. I will post after I see the osteopath to let you know what they do...I never heard of them until I got referred.
