Ty Claire hope your husband feels better. I saw a new broccoli recipe I may try when better.

Note- -when sewing buttons on a leather coat a small needle works better.

Feel better Joanie - the hubby is home sick again today. Had to nag him into drinking some Powerade, but he finally started it this morning.

Joanie - in regard to your dream, I got a sense that things are just on the verge, but need just a little more time and patience. You've done all you can do and now it's up to nature to do the rest, but things are going to be terrific.

No new recipes, but I ate an acorn squash over the weekend that was quite delicious. I love eating them, but rarely take the time to cook them, even though it's just 8 minutes in the microwave. I'm the only one at home who eats them, so it would be better for lunch.

Have a great week all!

CMBELISLE - Wow! You are proof of what a good night's rest can do for a body. That is a lot to accomplish in the first two hours of the day. I am not a morning person, so I always make sure to load my washing machine the night before so I can get up, make the bed, and start the washer on my way to stumble for coffee (and in winter I drink it with my SAD light). That way, by the time I am fully awake after my first cup I feel like I already did something - the bed is made and a load of laundry is going.

MARYLEEV - Thank you for sharing that. I watched an introductory video and the rooms were so lovely. I generally don't have a lot of "stuff" sitting around, and feel my main living area is similarly simple and soothing. I think I'm going to order her book. It's not that expensive, and DS needs a little help with clutter. I homeschool him and his desk makes me crazy. I'm pretty good at donating and purging. DH was one to keep boxes and boxes of junk, but he's really made an effort the past few years and made huge gains in decluttering. And funnily enough, he's had a number of successes over the past few years, too.

Happy Sunday!

I'm couching it today catching up on work. It's tourist season here, and a friend has been trying to convince me to rent out my guest room on AirBnB. I'm considering it. I've never done this but apparently people are getting large amounts of for nightly stays and there's a shortage of places to stay in town. I took some time to empty out the closet of the room yesterday and plan on working on it till the room is more presentable in the week ahead. I'm trying to fix up the back yard, too.

Yesterday was very productive and also really fun. I think I'd been in quite a slump since the holidays. I'm feeling like I have a little more time right now to create more balance, and have been building in more opportunities for self care.

Now I need to focus more energy on my health again. My weight's slipped up and I'm feeling it in my clothes. I've set an intention and will realize it in the week ahead.

Onward and Upward. Jetta, I loved your reading so much. Thanks for doing that for me. It is truly a gift.

Charlene

Helllo! I've had the bug and been home on the couch sick. Not at 100% but have to go work tomorrow.

Cleaning out feels great and in a way shows new beginings.

Jetta for class what about how to like yourself, how to let go of the past etc. and move on?Like how to get in touch with yourself?

Hope everyone feels better!

As for keeping and ex's stuff, I did that to as he left all his tools at my place bc he moved to an apartment and had no room for them. Then he would as to come by the house and get some or work on his car but wouldn't show. Needless to say most of those tools my sons sold for drug money, they took stuff when I wasn't around. Once he died, I discovered this. While he was alive, they didn't take the stuff.

Ok so here's my dream...I have my own thoughts but really want yours:

I had a wonderful vegetable garden at my former home. It's a sunny beautiful summer day.The tomato plants were huge as if for a giant. They were tree size but the fruits were ripening at the top. A girl went to pick my cucumbers and I said no they aren't ready let them grow but she picked one. DH came saw the tomatoes and picked a ripe one for me-they were the size of basketballs- yet it wasn't fully ripe. I showed him where I had more cucumber plants that were growing well. I took the tomato to give to my parents in their basement as a friend (the one who got my son on heroin)& his mom of my son whos in jail stopped and asked to see him, my mom shook her head no so I told them he's not here. That boys mom knew he had a court date and wasn't back yet. Then I am out in the garden again and found some flowers that weren't doing well. I took them in my moms basement to replant and knew they would thrive.I saw like a tiger lilly grow and bloom so big and wide. As I was planting a repair man passed behind me. Then I woke up.

Please tell me what you think this dream is.

Thanks ladies! The hubby is still sick but I slept hard last night even without being very active yesterday. I do have to admit that I took a Benadryl before going to bed, but I slept hard long after it wore off. I feel well-rested and have already fed the cats, been on my elliptical for 47 minutes, loaded the dishwasher, folded a load of laundry (from last weekend), and washed a load of jeans. They are in the dryer now and I've only been awake a little over two hours. I should have a productive day in preparation for the week ahead - I just need to prioritize what I want to get done, then work my list.

Have a great day!

It is so important bewellmom3 to take those days as needed!!! It's hard when you are fighting it for so long and trying to get well. But herbs and honey and cinnamin and extra nutrients do help! Sleep for me has been most important.

Enjoy the foods you are making in moderation and if it doesn't "hit the spot" don't finish it. Just save it for something that does satisfy you!

I am also in clean out mode and I found a woman on youtube. She is japanese Marie Kondo and I love her approach. You might want to check her out and see if she resonates with you as well.

Have a wonderful Sunday. emoticon

I've spent all day getting ready for a dinner party tomorrow. I am making some favorite foods, but I know I can eat them if I watch the portions. And I've been making sure to allow extra calories all this week to have a little wiggle room. I also will be burning calories with shoveling and snow blowing on Monday because we are supposed to get another snowstorm.

I agree - cleaning out clutter feels so good! I spent last year concentrating on cleaning out, organizing, and painting/decorating 2 extra bedrooms (now a den/library and a workout/yoga/extra TV room), and painting our master bedroom and bathroom. This year I need to clean out and organize my closet, the kitchen cupboards/island, and get going on the basement. Clearing clutter is supposed to be good Feng Shui, and I can say that has generally been my experience.

I was fighting off a sore throat/fever this week, for about 3 days. It was the three busiest days of my week, when I couldn't really take the time I needed to just take my herbs and vitamins and homeopathy and sleep it away. I have learned over the years that illness means "slow down" and "care for yourself" and I try to listen to that. This time, I had an exceptional circumstance on the day I woke up not feeling well, and had no choice but to muscle through on almost no sleep. I think that's why it lasted three days.

So taking an easy "lazy" day when you feel you need it - that is illness prevention. You know best when your energy is depleted and you need rest. That is different than just not being motivated. That is self care. Too many times we don't honor that, and end up sick. I say Great Job!

Hi all. Jetta - you are so busy! Wow!

The hubby went home early from work yesterday and seems to have the flu. I've been a couch potato, watching Netflix all day. Not a bad day - just lazy. I kinda needed it too.

Well, have a great day!

Amy,WOW, I am so impressed. GOOD for you! Keep up the good work, I am sure you will finish it too. I honestly wonder just how much clutter we have coincides with our weight, that is something to really think about. My weight is not going down right now for some reason.

Today I spent helping my SIL clean out a room that her late husband hoarded, man, he didn't get rid of anything. Boxes of just trash and about 6 or more of just empty old candle jars. I filled up a dumpster full of junk and put aside a whole lot of stuff for a yard sale. I was so beat that I took a nap when I got home. Yesterday I cleaned out my garage and arranged my 2 sheds putting all the empty boxes (for packing and moving) in one shed and the boxes I have already packed in another shed. I was beat and sore last night. I forgot to put my abdominal binder on (I had taken if off after my run) and was really hurting last night. I guess I still have to be careful after my surgery huh!

Tomorrow I am taking a 4 hour class learning how to use my Ipad better. Just for fun. I also signed up for a Mexican cooking class with hubby for next month and an exercise class oh and a photoshop 12 class too so will be busy the next couple months learning more.

Sunday is our cleaning and laundry day and I have a reading scheduled too so will relax the rest of the weekend.

We are hoping to get some more rain next week. How is everyone else?

Blessings & Love, Jetta :-)

Congrats on the cleaning! You've done great and should be proud of yourself.

As for your ex's stuff, I'm not sure why you have to keep it unless things aren't quite final or there's something in your decree. My ex and I exchanged stuff at the lawyer's office. Maybe you should tell your lawyer that since he thinks it should be kept for your ex, then he can keep it for him at his office. emoticon Your lawyer might then charge your ex for storage too.

What's everyone doing this weekend? It's supposed to rain here so I'll be inside doing paperwork most likely.

Hello All!

I managed to meet a goal and cleaned out my room, closet, and 1 of my daughters rooms! I'm working to finish the rest of the house by Spring. I got rid of so many clothes it was crazy. I even went through some of the ones I kept because memories were attached ( my ex used to throw away pictures, film, and journals, so sometimes the clothes were all I had to remember things by) but I ended up keeping those. I condensed them into a smaller storage place.

Unfortunately my ex still has stuff stored in my place, and my lawyer says I can't get rid of it yet. Bleah emoticon

One of the things that made it easier was remembering that when I left him, my girls and I literally had nothing but the clothes on our backs and the contents of my purse. We survived it without stuff, and I had promised myself at that time that I wouldn't let myself get bogged down by stuff I didn't really want. Ironically, when I began getting bogged down again by material possessions, I also got weighted down by an extra 60 pounds. I can't help wondering if there is a link.

Jetta, your granddaughter is such a cutie! Her picture makes me wish I had a little one to play peekaboo with!

Yoga, walking and meditation sessions? Foods that are good for the soul? (These just came to mind, not sure if they apply.)

Yes, sometimes the body just needs to rest and activities that require deep thought are just as taxing as exercise can be.

Yes, I like your way of thinking Claire. I don't know what was in the air yesterday but I am sure glad it is over and I am back happy me. I think it had to do with my 3 day intensive training over the weekend and my body needed to crash to get caught up.

Any suggestions as to what you would do or teach for a women's retreat? I have never done this, so far I want to do a 2 day training of Akashic Records. Any ideas?

Have a most wonderful rest of your day. Love you all!

I haven't weighed in months except to join a weight loss challenge at work or when I go to the doctor. As long as I'm exercising, feel healthy and don't gain weight, I'm happy. My clothes are generally looser too. When I weighed regularly, I would get really frustrated. I'd be thrilled to lose more, but as long as I don't gain, it's OK.

Good Morning.
Well said BEWELLMOM3. We forget how evil a scale can be. Better to go by how we feel and clothes fit.

I stuck to all my goals today for wellness/health/weight loss today, but what I'm most proud of is that I resisted the temptation to get on the scale. I have been jumping on it first thing everything morning, and it has been fun because I've been really sticking to my plan and the pounds have come right off, so far. But I know that quick start never lasts, and then when the scale doesn't move I think "Why bother?", and quit trying. That is not smart or helpful. So finally I figured out that I need to be proud of myself for my efforts (they create health in the long run, even if I never lose another pound), and not be so results oriented. So now, I am applying that, and today was the first day I said "NO" and did not start my day by judging myself based on whether or not the scale moved. As long as I stick to my plan, eventually my clothing will be too big and that's much better than any number on the scale! I'll still weigh in from time to time, but that number is not going to determine my mood, my actions, or my joy.

I like that Peaches, thank you! For some reason I was feeling very down today, I make myself go walk/run then took a shower with epsom salt and Lavender oil but still slept most of the day, maybe my body needed it after all that training not sure. Processing a lot I think.

Hope you all got my message (taking the Christmas note off lol) about writing your abundance checks. I am going to go do mine right now.

Have a good evening everyone. Love you!

I was motivated to do the gazelle this morning. Hope to keep motivated. I have a hair appointment after work today.

It's brisk with a few flurries here. Back to work.

Peace and blessings to all!

Good morning all! The house is so quiet and calm when we get home from work now. The oldest has moved back out and the youngest is back at college. I also left work early enough to enjoy being able to walk outside in the sunlight (no rain!) - I had a few things to take to the compost bin too. After dinner, I did a little vegging too. Sometimes it is needed and it helped me get back on the elliptical this morning. I'm off to a good start today. I hope you are too!

I'm working today too. I haven't had today off as an option in years.

Jetta - Peaches is right. Putting things into practice helps them stick better and make more sense.

Alicia - rest, yes. See if stretching helps too. It sounds like something in your low back my be causing the leg pain, but I'm not a doctor.

Yesterday was a productive day for me. I made Orange Marmalade, did my grocery shopping and washed clothes. I even managed to clean the kitchen after I canned the marmalade, but I still have a load of laundry to fold.

Have a great week all!

Good Monday Morning!
We have snow again, just a trace but accidents I heard. Whenever schools are closed, they don't treat the roads as quickly.
Got a lot accomplished yesterday. Today, cooking and doing things I want to.

Has anyone heard of gacinia for weight loss?

I am working today. I'm not a federal or state employee. I could have taken the day off, but I lost track and figured it was just another Monday to get some work done. I will have a busy day,

Jetta - maybe once you start practicing the knowledge will stick. Its one thing to read and study, but another entirely to put it into practice where your other body senses can engage to own the new knowledge. Just something to think about.

Have a great day everyone.

We have painters coming tomorrow to finish what I couldn't reach in the 2 story stairway. It has been along time to get it done so hope it all works out.

Today wasn't any better for my training, I still have to test out and am so brain fried. I don't know if I can make it through year 2. So much to learn and remember.

Hubby and son off tomorrow too so will see how it goes.

Who else is off tomorrow?

Hello!

Hang in there with the studying Jetta.
Claire, glad moving is done.
Peaches wonderful to go out on a 'date' each weekend to dine.
Alicia take care of your leg.

I too am in a bit of a funk. Is it the alignment of the planets or something?

Yesterday was productive. Today I have more chores. DH shoulder/rotator cuff is feeling better. He goes to dr. 2/4.

I just can't seem to get motivated today. Thinking bc I've overwhelmed. With the chores, how I feel and just can't find me time. I know I need to make it.

Who else is off work tomorrow? I enjoy 3 day weekends!

Good Morning All -

I really love sharing your day with you in your posts. This week I seemed to have injuried my left thigh and have been in a lot of pain. I have tried to do a few gentle walks trying to ease it but today I am just going to rest it. It seems to be getting better for a bit and then it flares up again like a dull ache from my hip to mid-thigh. Well, enough of the complaining, it doesn't do much to do that. All in all here a cold, quiet week.

Hugs to all.

Hugs - Alicia

emoticon Jetta.

Oldest is moved, mostly. She doesn't have room for everything but we met her roommate and are pretty pleased with the situation. It is a gated condo community in one of the nicer areas of town. Lots of dogs and they are next to a golf course on one side of the very large complex. The house is definitely calmer.

Have a great evening.

I like that you go out every weekend. a date sort of.

Joanie, I hope to skype with her soon. I told her as a baby to remind mommy to skype with grandma lol. She is just so busy and all.

Today was a REALLY busy but good day in training. It is just so much to learn and I get overwhelmed trying to remember it all. All the source points, meridians etc. is a lot of memorization. Have 2 more days then I am done with year 1. Feeling like I am not sure of going on to year 2 even if I get the scholarship. it is so much for me to remember. I am just leaving it up to Spirit.

Tired of studying, maybe I will do a couple more readings. Love you!

I have no plans either except to handle a few household chores ... and try to avoid opening my work laptop so that I can decompress.

My husband and I always go out to lunch on one of the weekend days. Otherwise, we almost never eat out so it is our treat. We'll probably go to lunch on Saturday.

Otherwise, it is a football weekend. Not as exciting as when your team is in it, but I'm a football fan.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

interesting weekend plans! Me, none as usual. Household stuff.
Jetta-can you skype with them to see her? I know it's not the same.

I overinduldged today. The tension at work did it. and boredom.

Going to crochet a bit now....

Have a peaceful evening everyone!

Feeling great this morning. Got to sleep a little later and have some time to catch up on some things in the office. Tomorrow I plan to go to a big Kirtan event in my town. Kirtan is singing in Sanskrit and is a kind of contemplative practice. It always raises my energy and I leave feeling wonderful! We usually have it every other weekend. This one will be a fundraiser for a wonderful community center in town. Happy Friday to all!

Weekend plans - our oldest is moving back out. She finally found a roommate who already has a place where she can live with her dog, Thor. The new roomie also has Thor's brother. YAY! We will be helping tomorrow.

Not anywhere close to Sedona. I bet it will be beautiful there - a different kind of landscape from where I live. I do love the vast differences in different parts of the US.

YAY on the wedding. Enjoy! I think you'll be fine with the weather.

Thanks Joanie, that is one of her first smiles. LOVE her soo much, hard to stay away, she lives 9 hours away and I haven't seen her since she was 2 weeks old.

Have Donna Eden Energy Medicine training for the next 3 days, the final part of the year end then the test and certificate. I love this work so much but a lot to learn and take in plus really understand.

Anyone have plans on the weekend?

Does anyone live near Sedona Arizona? I am putting together a "Women's retreat" in May.

OOOO I just found out my daughter is getting married November 7th, I have to pray for no rain or snow since it is up in the mountains and outside. I am so happy, more reason to loose another 20 or 30 pounds. YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Blessings & Love, Jetta :-)

Good morning all! I worked almost 2 extra hours yesterday and I'm still behind at work, so I don't have long.

Charlene - even if you don't track it in SP, keep a journal of what you eat. I think WW suggests - "if you bite it, you write it." I lost a lot of weight LONG before online tracking became available just by writing down what I ate at every meal. It kept me aware and accountable.

Jetta - I still have my wedding dress and my mom's wedding dress. Mine has been worn 3 times. My mom's was tea length so she was able to wear it for more than just her wedding. One day, I might have her dress cleaned so it can be worn again. My dress may be taken apart and made into things for my future granddaughters - not sure yet. I made my dress for my sister's first wedding, then wore it for my first wedding then my SIL wore it. I also have my second wedding dress which I had shortened to tea length and altered (I lost weight after) so I could wear it to a Christmas party. Wedding dresses tend to be so expensive which is another reason we hold onto them.

Alicia - I kinda like your idea about scanning, but I still have a thing about holding books when I read, so I'm not sure it would work for me.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

I caught "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead 2" this morning. I loved it! I love how they expand on how good health also includes a good support system and healthy thought. Excellent information. Also some really beautiful moments. I caught it on Netflix. :)

One concept that I really liked is this: It's not so much that "bad food" is so bad for you, but that if you eat it, you're not eating food that can provide all the micronutrients you need to build good health. I suppose the point could be argued, but I think it's a helpful concept to help one embrace changing thought patterns.

Happy Humpday.

Charlene

Morning everyone!

Sometimes it is hard to get rid of things as it reminds us of happy times or a loved one. Material things come and go but what we feel inside never leaves. Sometimes it's hard to get rid of stuff emotionally as it is a kinda safety zone. I can toss a lot out and still be where I am and feel what I feel but there's that old thing, what if I need it? When the mood is right I can do a thorough cleaning out. lol

Wednesday, I woke thinking it was THursday lol Wishful thinking?

Claire--hope you feel better. I have a mini stepper but you can't adjust the tension and I feel it in my knee today. I only do a minute or two on it bc of the knee but better than nothing. THe tension on my xl glider is too tough and I found online how to use bungee cords to add tension. It's been working great!

Let's make it a good positive day friends!!!

All great ideas, Claire, I still have both of my wedding dresses, the first one was made my a close friend who passed and the veil was from my ex's grandmother who I was really close to. The current one was made my my favorite auntie who has passed so. I know I need to give them up but the emotional stuff is VERY hard.

Charlene, make sure you sign up for a 2015 reading. I got a little more than half done so go read yours so far. I left off with Peaches next.

I have a healing class tomorrow night, I have 8 signed up, will see how many come. I am retired but still am so very busy. Hmmmmmm how did I do it working???

You all have a wonderful evening. Going to go in my little sauna and shower. Hugs, Jetta

Hello All!

Well, I've made it through the craziness of the holidays with all the extra demands at my office. I have a bit more time in my schedule now, and hopefully that will allow me to remain caught up on things around here. And I'm still in a holding pattern on my big (work related) life transition. I guess that seems to be true for so many right now.

Though I did well health/diet-wise over the holidays, I've been struggling a bit this week and am back up several pounds. I had been doing so well maintaining awareness of my hunger levels and recognizing when I felt full, but yesterday I was still hungry after eating a normal size dinner, so I did eat some more. I need to refocus. Maybe tracking food again would be a good idea. I had been doing that a few months ago on Spark People and it did help me increase my awareness of emotional eating. I had also decreased my opportunities of meditation through Kirtan or Kundalini while working so many hours. I have started that back up, so hopefully I'll be back on track soon.

Meanwhile I'm wearing snug clothes- something that bugs me, but a good reminder to pay attention!

CMBELISLE - we scanned all my mother's journals and put them in folders by year on an external hard drive, then we toss them. I know there is a worry about the external hard drive but if it is not thrown about it should be just fine. I only want it to last until my daughters get it upon my passing, then they could transfer the stuff to whatever new storage thing is out there. I am going to be working on the love letters and other mementos in the future after sorting all the photos, and finishing up the journals. Don't know if that would work for you dear friend but it is what we did.

Emotional attachment? Like keeping your mom's college notes? Or letters written between your grandparents (that you've never read)? Or gift tags from the wedding presents of a failed marriage? Some things are harder to figure out what to do with them because some of them carry some historical significance. My mom's notes from college show some dramatic differences in the way some things are taught in history classes. I even have agricultural notes/receipts that were my grandfather's (somewhere). I have some strange things.

Strength training yesterday has my arms sore today but I did manage to get on the elliptical this morning - first time since last week. I went for a run/walk Friday night and overdid it. My back/hip really don't like the high impact stuff right now - need to work up to it more.

Have a great day!

Morning everyone!
Some great ideas on here lately! WOO HOO
One thing that makes it hard to get rid of things are the emotions we attach with them. Have to find out why, what is the underlying cause of this, then we can clean out more.
Yesterday I felt energized, hoping to keep that going today!

Off to get ready for work!

Ooo, designer handbags ... nice! I could use one of those.

I think you want to appear gracious when people want to give you things or help you out. It makes them feel good. But I think it is completely fair to pass those things on then to others who are less fortunate and will use them. I'm all about things being used.

We just replaced our refrigerator. There was really nothing wrong with our old one, we had just replaced other appliances and my husband wanted everything to match. We offered our neighbor, a single dad, our old refrigerator and he was thrilled. Our old refrigerator was 10 years old, but it turns out his was 20 years old. Ours had an ice maker and in-door. It made us feel so good that someone could make use of the perfectly good refrigerator. But then we found out that his daughter was thrilled to be able to get filtered, cold water from the door and we were over-the-moon with happiness that it made her that happy.

I donate like crazy (my kids have huge growth spurts. Darn them for growing up so quickly!). My biggest problem is that so many people love to give me stuff, simply because they know I can't afford a lot for myself. I have a hard time saying no, especially since it is given with such love and kindness. But I get overwhelmed by the amount of stuff, especially clothes.

I do enjoy the designer purses, though. That is the benefit of knowing a lot of people who like to invest in quality emoticon

I love cinnamon in coffee, and have tried other spices. I miss creamer, though. I know it's laden with chemicals, but I miss how smooth it made my coffee. I have found, however, that since I started drinking a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water every morning, that I don't crave coffee as much throughout the day, and I have a lot more sustained energy.

What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals. Henry David Thoreau

One way to look at cleaning ... if you haven't used it in 6 months you probably aren't going to need it. Another way to look at it is that if you give something away you make room for something new to come into your life.

With clothes I turn all my hangers facing the wrong direction. When I wear a piece of clothing I replace it with the hanger facing the right way. After six months or in some cases a year I look at my closet to see how many hangers are still facing the wrong way and those are candidates to donate.

Hope everyone has a great week I'll stop by when I can. I don't really disappear - I just read everyone's posts and sometimes don't have anything to say.

Cleaning is definitely tough - especially for those of us with pack rat tendencies. I've gotten a little better over the years, but still have difficulty parting with some things. Salam - you might try thinking about someone else who may need those items you're hanging onto because someone else gave them to you. You no longer have a use for them, so think about them going to someone who can use them - someone who may have been through some things in life like yourself. That has helped me get rid of some things (not all, but some).

Joanie - cinnamon I have done. I'm not sure about the ginger although I have some tasty pumpkin spice flavored coffee that's really good. I still use a combination of Splenda and Stevia though. I have cut back on the Splenda, but have realized it adds a creamy texture to my coffee so still use one packet per cup with Stevia (or Monkfruit) added for any extra sweetening needed.

Good Morning All emoticon

Slow start for me this morning and my ears are being a bit of stuffed trouble which means I am fighting a cold. Ahh well, this too will pass, anyway we had snow through the night so we will be off to shovel at Mom's today.

Peaches - Yes, it sure is amazing how different places make the temperature so different. In Ottawa it was so cold and yet same temperatures here are really not so bad, although they don't stay like there.

Joanie - I never thought of cinnamon and ginger in my coffee emoticon sounds nice, I just drink mine plain and black but that sounds like something I would try. Thanks!

Hi Jetta and SALAM have a great day.

Time to get a move on.

morning all.

I have been trying to get away from sugar. Now in my coffee I am using some ginger, cinnamon and a bit of milk. Much better than creamer and sugar. I had read how cinnamon will jump start your metabolism.

Wonderful idea to take a drawer at a time. I will consider this. I get scattered when cleaning out. Still hard to get away from 'keep it you may need it sometime' mentality.

Trying to get into a new routine at home. Too cold in basement currently to exercise in morning-shifting that to after work.

Have a great day everyone!!!!!!

That is really cool too and PERFECT for you.. It also helps to do a "Crown Pull" you can look it up on U-tube from Donna Eden. It is really helping me. And Yes, one room a day is too much, I was told to do just 1 drawer at a time, by breaking it down that way, it at least gets done. I have been lowly going through things as we are getting ready to move at the end of this year!

We are getting a lot of rain, at least it is a lot for us here in San Diego. I am LOVING it too.

Drugs and alcohol are like the scourge of the American continents. So much wonder and good have been lost to those in the thrall of drugs. I've been clean 23 years, but there are still days when I feel them beckon.

My cousin was a wonderful person before she started drinking. Now she alternates between a wonderful person and a controlling, manipulative shrew.

My ex, when drunk, was not safe to be around. Period. I used to pray that if he couldn't stop drinking, could he please die before he killed someone else.

On a more positive note...

Jetta, I really liked the last Daily Om. I laughed when it said we should sort through 1 room a day. I'm a single working mom. I would be lucky to get through a room in a week! I think it's partly because I feel like I have to hold onto things that others gave me. I know it's a mindset I have to change, but my natural packrat tendencies were sent into overdrive a few years ago when I lost nearly everything. The problem with taking a week, though, is that it gives me too much time to change my mind about what to get rid of. Still, it's a goal to work toward.

Yesterday I had my martial arts lesson. My Sensei wasn't able to come in, so one of the black belts covered the class. When I admitted that I have issues with short term memory the black belt told me "That's okay, most of my students have memory issues." Turns out that he is a high school teacher for kids with learning issues. He was able to give me a lot of visual and verbal cues to help me remember moves and translations. I sort of feel like the Universe sent him in my direction because I finally started to admit that I have an issue.

What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals. Henry David Thoreau

my sister was clean for 6 months and was supposed to graduate from her court ordered drug program, she was doing well and looking for a place to live in order to get her 4 children back. but was found outside in the dirt on her 42nd birthday at someone's back yard with a meth OD. I still miss her but glad she is free from that addiction.

My brother when not drunk or high is the sweetest person in the world but that I have not seen him in years because of this.

Drugs fried my other sisters mind and my eldest brother is an alcoholic and drugs too. I don't have anything to do with them, not healthy. I have made my own family.

They are wonderful people when in their right mind, so sad when things like this happen.

God Bless their families! Love you all, Jetta

Good to see so many participating in our conversations.

Peaches - that's awesome with the tomatoes. I think our hard freeze last week finally did in our fall garden.

Joanie - I'm still sending hugs. I've had too much experience with friends overdosing or having cancer.

Have a great week. I've been doing paperwork.
