I'm new to this team. Do you count all sodium from fresh vegetables, fruit and spices? My husband has to keep his sodium below 2000 mg a day. I've been counting everything. How do you mange to stay below 1000?

I think that when I find a good homemade alternative to lite salad dressing (I use fat-free French or lite Ranch) I'll save some sodium (I have a large green salad almost every day, and even when I toss and toss in order to get that one serving distributed throughout the salad, it does add up over time). Also, although I don't eat a lot of meat, I think if I add in more meatless meals, I'll save as well.
I went over my allotment day before yesterday, but I made stir-fry and the 3T. of stir-fry sauce added too much sodium. I'll have to do some checking to see if I can find a good 'from scratch' sauce to add to my stir-fry.
I try to look at it as a game to see how much sodium I can eliminate from my diet!
