This DASH diet is great but there are things I know we could not manage. One of them is the amount of juice they require you to drink. I have revised the diet to something we can manage and the juice is being replaced with fresh fruit. That is doable. Here in the north we can always buy apples for a decent price and often we can buy grapes and oranges for a decent price as well. I am going over the diet with a fine tooth comb and am still on Day 3 so it will be a long haul. But it has to be doable for us. The things that are painstaking is the food that I have to enter in the food list as food that is not in the 10,000 item list already. That comes from living in Canada and in the north at that. This is a research project I am definitely getting my teeth into and then I hope to maybe eventually manage to lose that last 20 lbs. and get off the BP meds I am on. I prefer this to studying Spanish but I'll do that too. I don't work and am so busy I can hardly stand it. I managed to buy 4 turkeys the other day for 96cents a lb. how great is that?

I couldn't follow strictly all requirements but just the principal ones and think it's good for both overall health and the heart especially.

I just used up a lot of printer ink printing off that DASH diet booklet. Very interesting. I really need to get less sodium and more potassium into our diets and that will do it.

Has anyone tried the DASH Diet? I was curious as to whether it helped to lower your blood pressure. Did you lose weight with it too? emoticon
