No -- one cup of chopped celery has 81 mg of sodium which would be considered low. It also has almost three times the amount of potassium for a great ratio of potassium to sodium that help promote blood pressure regulation. You can share the nutrient info with your friend from this link of the USDA.

I love celery but because of my plate find it hard to eat raw. I cut up a lot of it and cook it in chicken broth for about 10 mins. and then drain it and add tomato sc. and cook it for about 4-5mins. This is a constant veggie for meals here.

emoticon I feel that if there is anything bad about celery, the good out weights the bad. It's full of fiber and a great finger food to go with dip and peanut butter (omitting the chips and crackers)

1 medium stalk only has 32mg. It also has a lot of good nutrients.

My friend told me that celery is full of sodium, even if you don't salt it. Can this be true? Has anyone else heard about this?
