Hey Thomas My name is also Thomas. It is amazing how sodium can affect BP. my BP 5 month ago was 180/140 or at higher. After BP meds and heart surgery plus watching my diet for sodium and other things it now runs an Avg of 117/69. Weight loss can also help with BP. It is nice to take BP and have it be low.

In GOD We Trust Choose To Lose "If you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired." -General George S Patton, U.S.Army, 1912 Olympian
Have you been diagnosed with diabetes? When are you checking your blood sugar (for example...first thing in morning, 30 minutes after you eat, 2 hours after you eat...)? Depending on when you are checking your blood sugar, 200 isn't normal for no one. Everyones blood sugar will go up some after eating but goes back down to a normal range...if it's not then that raises some red flags.

God is my strength!
NOTE: My weight loss ticker is done up for shorter goals and once reached will change goal weight again.
My boss and best friend recently reached her goal weight, she lost over 60 pounds and looks wonderful! I listen to her talk about how she feels. This along with my brother in law recently suffering a heart attack and myself wanting to feel better I decided I am going to eat better and cut out ramen soup and soda. After only 2 days I feel awesome! Is that normal? But more to this team topic. My blood Pressure when taken at doctors office has been 140/100 and 130/100 the last two times. But, prior to last time i checked it at home and it was 120-130/80-85 so they figure its the fact that I was sick and being at the doctors office, this was 2 weeks ago.
Today I wake and take my BP and it was 117/73 - I still took my pills and while at work about 6 hours later I checked my BP and it was 106/68 - this is not usual for me, but all the other BPs i was not monitoring my food intake and drinking regular soda and salt intake was more than likely through the roof. So is this Normal? Does food and drink affect it that much? A note my blood sugar was normal to be over 200. but today it never touched 200, lowest so far is 107. If this is all because of food intake and eating healthy I stand amazed and wished I would have done this earlier. I am very interested to have clarification on this. It is always good to get a friends opinion, plus it makes you feel better :-)
I also want to be in better health because I want to honor God my Creator and take full advantage from now on of the life He has given me.
Be blessed everyone, cant wait to hear from you.
