I try to avoid processed foods since they are higher in sodium. I also look for lower sodium varieties of my favorites. The no sodium is just too bland, but some of the lower sodium ones aren't so bad. I also cook with more garlic, onion, and herbs than I used to which also helps to lower the sodium yet still add lots of flavor. Just keep experimenting and you will find some favorites. My sodium levels were over 4000 and I have gotten it down to around 1600 in the last 7 months. I took my time making small changes. Going cold turkey on the salt would have just made me crave it more. Best wishes on your journey to a healthier you.
