Migraine was my first thought, also.

I had this happen. My doctor suggested I see my eye doctor. Eye doctor did a bunch of tests and finally pronounced it as an "ophtalmic migraine." No treatment, nothing to fear.

I sent the link above, as it was one of the only ones I could find about the problem. One other place indicated that you could be a little anemic. Do ask your DR. and let us know what he says.

Ok, what I'm seeing are stars. They're little bright "lights". And it only happens every once in while, but it's scary nonetheless. I'll definitely ask a doctor.

I use to have floaters all of the time, but I have not noticed any now. I did have a laser procedure last fall maybe that got rid of them.

I have floaters. I think they are fairly common as we age.

There is a difference between seeing stars and floaters. Stars can be when you stand up quickly and may even feel faint.

Floaters are suspended in the vitreous humour. They generally follow the rapid motions of the eye, while drifting slowly within the fluid.

I've had those very small floaters. Last fall I developed a larger one in one eye. I got it checked out by my eye dr.

These may or may not be related to your htn. The really small floaters are fairly common. Definitely tell your primary dr & your eye dr - if you have an optometrist or ophthamologist, doesn't matter, just tell them.

I'm not sure what causes them but I get those also. I would ask your dr.

The last few times I've gotten my blood pressure taken, I started to see stars. And then over the weekend, I was getting out of the car and started to see them again. What causes this?
