I also have a lot of respect for the doctors who have all spent a lot of years and money attending schools. But it's the same with mechanics and plumbers and lawyers; there are good ones and there are the other ones. We have to be vigilant about research and finding the good ones. They are not Gods, they are just folks, humans, like us, and as such they can and do make mistakes. So do we. No one can possibly know everything. But with lots of research we have that many more eyes and minds looking for solutions. New knowledge appears on a daily basis and neither the doctors nor us can stay on top of it all. But, we are concerned about OUR health and OUR bodies, so it behooves us to be the best advocates for ourselves. Then, the doctors are our teammates and together we get better results. All we have to do is find doctors who will work with us and not assume that they, alone, have all the answers. Arrogance, whether in doctors or presidents, is not attractive.

Occult..I think nearly everyone has a horror story or two they can tell about doctors and hospitals emoticon That is why it is so important to be your OWN advocate. There is NO excuse for not learning all you can about your body and your health, and whatever is entailed in keeping it at its best.
However..I have a lot of respect for those in the medical calling who DO have a calling for it, I appreciate all the years they spent getting an education for it, and I appreciate any help they give me in keeping healthy.

yeah I use to have stomach bleeding all the time and the idiot doctors who told me to take aspirin knew for 3 years while they ran up tens of thousands of dollars trying to figure it out, if just one of them idiots would have said stop taking the aspirin...the problem would have been solved.

I just went from the 325mg once a day to 81mg's 2X a day, and yes if you get generic aspirin and break up in water like they use to do for kids back in the old days the intensity and burn will be less ~smiles~

Since I started a high fiber diet, drank lots of water, I have never had any problem with aspirin since then.

Really, I have stories that would keep people from ever seeing doctors again, and they aren't just mine ~chuckles~. People die from MRSA every day from routine procedures in hospitals, if poeple only knew most would go back to homeopathic remedies for all but the most extreme things like cancers and stuff ~smiles~

Having already had an ulcer I am not too keen on taking chances on another one. Also, the big risk with aspirin is when it sits on your stomach lining, eventually eating a hole in it. Hence, an ulcer. It seems to me that if you were to break it down into a powder and mix it with an ample amount of water that it would be diluted enough that it wouldn't cause a problem. That's my theory, anyway. And to think I used to let full dose aspirins melt on my teeth, for tooth aches! That was a long time ago. Also, I have read that once you start taking baby aspirins, you don't want to EVER stop taking them. The risk then goes way up, for a heart attack or stroke. It might be better to just not start.

Interesting, but the vast majority of medical scientists are a bunch of idiots ~smiles~

I have very long stories of why and do not wish to go into this, let's just say I don't believe anything they say anymore!

I will continue to take my 81mg of aspirin twice a day, but thanks for the heads up ~smiles~

Thanks much for the info. So timely, since it's that TOM, cramps are bad, and I'm trying to figure out what pain reliever I can take without spiking the BP.
