I was checked 3 different times today for my B.P., and cardiologist was happy that my bp has gone down to 145/84, and at times lower, as when I gave blood today it was 125/80. Nice news on one's 65th birthday.
93/67 I've been on BP meds for years, not even sure how many now. After joining Spark People and slowly getting healthy. I exercise daily, no excuses, and eat healthier. 6 weeks today, 19 lbs lighter since starting, 25lbs lost total. I see my dr. in 2 1/2 weeks. I am hoping to get off the meds completely.

I was line dancing in the humid and 83 degree weather for 105 minutes this evening and felt great but 30 minutes later when checking my pm blood pressure, it was 146/96, so I am wondering if others in this group have found after long cardio exercise, do you have higher blood pressures?

Went to the walk-in clinic this morning to get a cut finger checked out and they got a reading of 110/77 (which is really good for me with my 'white coat' syndrome). I was surprised (especially with the bleeding finger and the dread of the tetanus shot!)
'Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- WOW -- what a ride!

I took my blood pressure monitor OMRON ,which is supposed to be the best to my pharmacist to check and see if a similar reading would come up on the stores model and on my own. My blood pressure read 157/88 on mine, and the stores read 145/80, so not sure if that means my monitor is not accurate or what? Anyone have any ideas?

hi SALLYCECILIA, Do you have your thoughts or reasons why your blood pressure was the way it was ? Sorry to see your face image that way. I was asking the group members similar questions when I asked if higher blood pressure can be attributed to higher salt intake the day before or not, or many factors. I never heard from anyone.
My blood pressure is up to 161/98, and still taking two medications, but do not see my cardiologist until late June. Could this elevation be due to too much salt today? I ate out at TGIF, MAYBE NOT A GREAT CHOICE? Guess I should call for an earlier appointment.
