Aww, sorry to hear about your mom. Hope she gets well soon.
At least you get to be home with her for awhile, and not lose out on work. I'm sure she'll be happy to have your support, and care.

Glad to hear you had a great time.
I will be headed home to AZ next week for awhile and working remotely. My mom is sick and work is going to let me be there for her and work offsite.

Trips are fun, but they sure do take a lot out of you. I came back, and the next day I had a cold, it's starting to go now, but geez. At least it waited until right after the trip I suppose, lol.

We had fun, spent a lot of time on the beach, went para-sailing, visited the aquarium. Gained a bit, but I have plenty of time to bounce back. At least it wasn't as bad as I feared. It's a little hard to get back on track, but I'm working on it. Gonna miss it, the weather was great, and there was so much more to do.

Belated, but hope you had a great time at the beach. I just returned from a mini-vacation/anniversary trip to Gatlinburg. It was great weather and just a nice trip all around. Glad to be back though!

Whoop, whoop! Lol. Sorry, I'm excited. We're leaving tonight, everything's just about packed. Long ride ahead, but it's going to be an interesting experience. I have to take a lot more pictures this time, I tend to bring my camera everywhere with me and rarely use it. This time I want so many pictures that uploading them to facebook becomes a headache! XD

I don't know how much I'll be on the computer in general, let alone on SP. If I don't pop on, I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend, and wonderful week! Stay positive!

I love swimming, which is a lovely segway into telling you guys that my boyfriend and I are going to Virginia Beach for a week. We're leaving Friday night, like midnight. It's a nine hour drive, and we don't want nine hours of traffic so that's why we're leaving so late/early. I'm just regretting not starting a better strength training regimen earlier. emoticon

Bringing my yoga mat, and kettlebell, because this will not be like last vacation where I didn't workout the whole week. Turns out the place we're in is one of the few without a gym, lol. It pays to be prepared!

I used to love to go hiking, but living in a concrete jungle now, there isn't really anywhere to do it at. Besides it is also flat and there are no mountains for hours.

I really need to get into the pool again. With my back issues and the amount of pain I've been having lately, it seems like my best option to get some exercise in

When it comes to bored and emotional eating I try to distract myself. I'll workout (which also helps with improving mood), or play boggle online (since it's online you can't just step away for a snack unless you don't mind getting kicked), or in the case of emotional eating I'll just go in my room and rant/cry it out depending on the emotion at hand. It may not work for everyone, but it has for me.

Hiking sounds so fun. I'd love to find some good trails but nothing's close. There's a ton of woods around here, but it's all personal property, and not as safe as real trails since if something happens your chances of being found would be bleak at best.

I definitely do the bored eating as well. I just like to eat. No lying about it or denying it...I love food lol.

That is my problem, food. I can exercise all I want, but without my portion control I'm never going to get anywhere.

Had a great weekend. Did alot of hiking over a couple days. Can't say that we did a bunch of eating. I guess that's a good thing. We really don't have any friends around so we just hang out with each other. We did go to a birthday party for my husband's grandfather, so that was nice.

I ordered Les Mills Combat on ebay and got it for a fantastic price. I'm a little worried about starting it just yet. It seems like it could be harder than Turbo Fire. I think I'm going to finish out this first month of the combo I'm doing with TJ and Chalean Extreme. That takes me to August 1st. Then I'll decide what I want to tackle next.

I think On-Demand has free workout stuff on there. At least it used to. You should check that out.

Emotional eating I'm not really sure about.Thinking through it, it might be a good starting point to think about triggers and maybe alternative things that you can do when you have a trigger. I don't know....was just trying to offer a suggestion. I'm sure you have already tried that. I find I eat when I'm bored. Like mindless eating.

I ate way too much this weekend. I am feeling it this week, and my sciatic pain is bothering me this week as well. I guess I did too much at the lake house on Saturday.

Anyone got any pointers on how to fix emotional eating? I've been doing a lot of it lately :(

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Spent some time with the family myself, ate a lot of crap, drank a lot of crap, lol. Been getting back on track though, and won't touch the scale until I've been on track for awhile too. I won't lie, I'm scared of what that number would be. Plus it's a lot of extra food weight, and water retention so no need to get myself worked up over that. After a few days of drinking a lot of water, and getting back to normal, then I'll see where I'm at again.

Nah, I get a good workout from dancing, yoga, and kettlebell training as it is. I am working on adding some extra strength throughout the week because increasing my muscle mass, and improving strength are my two main goals. :) I see it as if I can lose 50lbs without the gym in the first place, I don't really need it now.

Happy July everyone, and if I'm not on tomorrow, happy 4th! It's going to be BBQ weekend so good luck to everyone, lol.

Glad you had a good time, it may have been pricey, but it's ok, it's a special occasion. :)
I wish I could get to a gym, but it's too far, and I can't drive. I have to be my own gym, lol. It sucks because I would easily qualify for low income payments at the YMCA, and be able to go anytime for about $10 a month. Then I could use the gym, the cardio room, the pool, the courts.
Oh well, I have my mat, my kettlebell, and my body ball. I also have dumbells and resistance bands, but they're from when I first started working out, and are kind of below my level now. The dumbells are 5lbs, and good for certain workouts like bent over chest flies but that's the only one I can think of.

I gained more weight than I care to admit over the weekend (most yesterday) which is bumming me out. I know it's mostly food weight, and water retention, but it still sucks, you know? It'll balance out in the next few days, then I'll know where I'm at. Trying to stay positive, I'm back on track today, and that's what matters.

sometimes getting away from bad influences and choices is a great way to start over...no matter what it is.

I plan to get back into the gym full force in the morning. We are celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary today, since our anniversary is Monday. We have a couples massage set up for 3pm and then reservations for dinner tonight :)

Welcome back! Vacations are fun, and I'm so up for one. It'll be awhile though, buying some property is top priority for this year.

I've never been to a concert! Hope you have a blast. I'm sure you will, Katy Perry's pretty amazing, and seems like she'd be fun to watch on stage.

My week is uneventful, kind of gave myself a cheat day at the Chinese Buffet, but I had been doing well for weeks, and plan to continue to do so. One day can't mess you up when you're consistent the rest of the time.
Tomorrow my boyfriend, and his brother are starting my mom's roof which means I can help my mom around the house, and spend time with my youngest brother. It also means I can teach my mom, a little about healthier eating (since she is interested in it, just doesn't know where to start), and I can get the youngest helping in the kitchen.

The second to youngest won't be there. He kind of needs to get away from the town, and the influences right now. It's complicated.

I'm sorry you had a frustrating time at the doctors. Sometimes doctors do not have a good bed side manner. Hang in there! I see all these minutes you log in. That's hard to do and you are doing great. I am trying to get pregnant, and it's not an easy thing, as much as some people will tell you. I've learned quite a lot about my body though. I actually got pregnant at the beginning of this month and immediately lost it, so at least I know my body knows what it's doing. Age is part of it, for fertility at least, but you are certainly not old. I'm way older than you! Hope you are doing better after a rest this weekend. Hugs!

I got back in touch with a friend today! She disappeared from facebook, and I was pretty worried. She had talked about suicide because she was tired of the pain of living with HIV. I went to her blog, and left a comment in case she was still around. Well, turned out she just wanted off of facebook, and she was really happy when she saw I reached out to her.

She messaged me with a friend's account so I would be able to contact here easier, and linked me to her new blog where I found out she's having a baby boy! She seems happier again, and I just wanted to share hoe thrilled I was to get in touch with her again. :)

I'm sorry. :(
"You're not fat, you have fat.
You have fingernails, you aren't fingernails."
:) Saw that on the main message boards in a sig, and love it because it's true. You're working on it, so don't let yourself get down. Be proud of your progress, and just keep doing what you need to. You'll reach your goals, I know you will.

As for the fertility part, both you, and the hubby should both see a fertility doctor. You're not old, at least not by my standards, so fertility relating to age might be a small factor, or it might not even play a part. It doesn't hurt to get you both checked out, hell, even younger couples can benefit from a fertility specialist when they're trying. You can find out the dates you're most fertile, to give yourself better chances. It doesn't have to be a bad thing, and if there is a problem on either end, at least you know about it, and can get advice from the doctor on where to go from there. :)

Just keep focused on the positive sides, and don't let this visit bring you down!
Fight! Fight! Fight!

Basically my Endo told me you're fat and getting old. If you want a child you need to go to a fertility doctor.

Bad news medically? Or just rough dealing with the appt itself?

Hopefully it was nothing too bad. Sorry I haven't responded in awhile. I wasn't on much the past four or five days, mostly just long enough to track, give team points, and maybe skim some articles.

Cooked dinner for my dad, chicken, peppers, and onion in sauce over pasta for father's day. :) Not super healthy, but it happens.

Well that was fun, but now I feel all lazy. lol. Always hard to get back on track after a drinking weekend. Doesn't help that I didn't get much sleep last night so I'm tired too which makes me wants to exercise less, and eat more. Hopefully a healthy breakfast, and some cardio is enough to kick my butt into gear for the day.

My hubby is a whiskey drinker as well. He loves his Crown and Sprite or his Jameson. You can usually find some Crown or Jameson for less than 40.

Hope you guys have fun, conventions seem fun (aside from knowing I'd have a panic attack if I went to one, lol) just watch out for the grown men in Sailor Moon costumes. xD

My boyfriend's birthday was yesterday, but since he works all week, I'm getting his gift tomorrow when we go out, and picking up some whiskey (hopefully). He's a whiskey drinker, but he never buys it because vodka's cheaper. I don't have a lot of cash, but hopefully after gift buying I have enough for a decent bottle. Rather not go with the cheap stuff if I don't have to.

Hubby had it rough I take it?

My Tuesday was better. Just a normal day of working out, and playing online. It was raining on and off so I had to keep letting the dogs in and out. They're usually out for most of the day because they hate being in when it's nice, but it was both nice and rainy. I have to brush the girl out today, probably after this post so I don't forget. Her son always has a thin coat, but she's always fluffy, and it's getting too warm for all that fuzz.

Anyone else having an awful Monday? I think it's about time for my time of the month to come and go. I tried to make breakfast, and it didn't go over well. I was already tired from little sleep, and frustrated about other things, and when I cracked the last egg we have here (forgot to bring my egg whites over from my boyfriend's) it falls into the pan with a half dozen pieces of shell. So I'm more ticked off at this point, but try to scoop out the parts with shell. As I'm lifting up the chunk of egg with eggshell in it, it pops right back down on what's left of my egg. I just got so upset I threw the whole pan in the sink, and tossed my toast outside. Then I sat crying over breakfast for a minute, because I was then tired, frustrated, AND hungry.

At least I have my coffee I guess. I think I'm going to workout in a minute to burn off some of this stress, and improve my mood. Maybe afterward I'll be able to whip up something to eat without having a meltdown. Lol.

Hello all! Sorry if I fell off the face of the earth! Can't believe it's almost June! Went out of town and have been off the working out wagon for about 2 weeks now, although I feel walking counts, and we have been doing quite a bit of that. Tonight I"m going to try to do a Turbo Jam video. We shall see!

Hope all are well!

You should. :) It just takes away everything fun about being social when everyone is too busy being virtually social. What's the point of constantly texting friends when you never communicate properly outside technology? Furthermore, what's the point of paying to go out when you're not going to enjoy it? Movies, dinners, things like that are usually pretty pricey. Why let the money go to waste? If you want to take a few quick pictures, and don't have a regular camera, I get that, but then the phone should go right back off.

In other news I thought I broke my dad's new lawnmower, and almost had a heart attack. It kept bogging down because of built up grass clippings so I flipped it to scrape it, and when I put it right side up, I noticed a bit of gas leaked from somewhere (not the cap, that was tight). So I try to start it, and get nothing. No pull start, and electric start just sounded screwed up. Left it alone for awhile, went back at it, and after a dozen tries (because it was acting like it wanted to start this time) it went. Smoked for a bit, but it went, then after a minute it was fine.

I was going to tell him... but naw. What he doesn't know won't hurt me, lol. Plus it is working fine now, so it'd be making something over nothing.

some friends of mine one night decided they were tired of it too. So the rule was to eat with everyone at the restaurant, you had to turn the phone off and everyone placed them in the middle of the table.

It was AWESOME, people actually talked and had fun. I almost want to say to do this any time we sit down to eat, with friends or family.

Yeah, it's a good thing to have when you have kids. Especially if the school needs to get a hold of you, or there's an emergency. :)

Whenever I bring my brother's out to eat anywhere they know to turn off their phones first thing. I told them already that it's not ok, that we're spending time as a family, and it's generally poor manners. The sixteen year old is actually proud of himself for it too, he'll turn it off and wave it at me so I see before putting it on the table. Times may be changing, but common courtesy should never leave us.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with not having a cell phone.
People are so attached to their phones now days that there is no face to face communication any more. I go out with friends and they sit at the table on their phones the whole time, no one talks.

I've thought about giving up my phone, but I don't have a home phone and the kiddo has to be able to get ahold of me.

Happy belated Memorial Day. :) Had a good weekend, and even tracked all weekend including my bad day.

I would, but I'm far too anxious to do a buddy system type thing. Plus the computer is the only thing I have for staying in touch with anything. Yep, talking to the only 23 year old without a cellphone right here. XD

That's cool that there I've found another fan of anime :)
I'm newer to being a fan, but my hubby has been a HUGE fan for years. We have 3 days VIP passes to A-con the first weekend in June, the first day of it actually is the kiddo's birthday so it works out perfectly for a birthday present. Saturday they are dressing up as Asana and Kiriko from Sword Art Online (might have misspelled those names). I don't have a costume, the one the hubby bought me is too small :(

Really? I thought the Alberon (sp) part was the second season. Lol.That's cool there's more though, I wonder if it'll be back on AS.

I haven't seen Rosario, but I own almost all of Moon Phase. I missed DVD 3 when they were actually being sold, and now I have to find it online at some point. It's a cute anime, I really need to watch it again. I need to re-watch Black Cat too. The manga was better, but both are great.

The kiddo will be 14 in less than 2 weeks.

The end of the season one when they are in the fairy world I think I know what you speak of. When the evil king chains her arms up and starts tearing off her close and such...yeah that was terrible. The second season will be released in early July I believe. The hubby and kiddo are hug into anime. Other than a couple things, like that one episode I found it to be a really good series.

Have you seen Rosario + Vampire or Moon Phase?

How old is said kiddo? I've completed that series, and the second season gets a little "rapey" in a few episodes, especially towards the end. Nothing graphic of course, it was ok enough to be on Adult Swim. Just something I thought I'd give you a heads up about. I wish they hadn't added that kind of thing, that aside it was a good anime.
I like Attack on Titan too, more gore and violence, if you're good with that sort of thing.
Blue Exorcist is another I'm watching now, and that's definitely family safe, at least as far as I've gotten. Though one character that just joined is quite busty (if you've seen Bleach, think Rangiku), and likes to wear bikini tops. Just some heavy side boob when she's on, but all in all it's a good anime.

The past two days, and today I've been doing morning workouts, and thus doubling my workout minutes. I have to get used to adding more calories to breakfast and lunch though if I continue to do it. Went under yesterday and the day before, but I'm working up to it.

I didn't get in a workout yesterday. Instead I plopped my butt on the couch and watched some anime with my hubby and kiddo. They got me sucked into a series called Sword Art Online. Great story line IMO.

I plan to get my butt in the gym tonight though. I NEED TO DO IT!

The dinner we took them to was a Chinese buffet, which is a free for all for me. I've had binging tendency since I can remember so buffets are my downfall. Fortunately even Jay doesn't care for them anymore so we don't go as much as we used to. I guess I figured I may not have Chinese for a long time so better fill up on that chicken and broccoli. Lol.

That said, I'm up to 50mins of cardio with another 10 planned in ten minutes. I've been breaking it into 10-20min segments so I can get plenty of it done today. I already know what's for dinner, so I'm prepping for it now. Lol.

I didn't eat too terrible over the weekend, probably only Saturday night when I stuffed my face with Mexican food. Sunday we went to Texoma for a bbq with another car club chapter, and I only ate one hamburger and some potato salad. For dinner that night I ate light because I had to jump on the computer and do some work from home.

Well I didn't have anything planned, but then it kind of happened. To say I fell off the wagon would be an understatement, but I had a good time. Friday night I babysat my brothers for my mom. My boyfriend and I took them out to dinner, rented a couple movies (Grown Ups 2 for the younger one, The Purge for the rest of us when he went to bed), and bought some junk food. Next morning I got to make them breakfast, and I did some yoga to loosen up after sleeping on an air mattress all night.

The rest of the weekend was pretty uneventful, aside from going to my dad's on Sunday for lunch like we usually do.

Now I'm just focused on getting back on track so I can work on the damage done over the weekend. XD

If you let my hubby...he will sleep like 11 hours. I just can't do it, when I sleep that much I feel like I have a sleep hangover the rest of the day and I'm useless.
Got any fun things planned for the weekend?

My sleep problems come and go as well. I agree that everyone has a number that works for them. I've spoken to people who can't sleep more than four hours or they feel more tired than when they went to sleep, thought it's more uncommon for someone to only require that much. Most adults need 6-8. I don't like when I sleep more than eight hours, eight is already a third of the day so I don't wan to waste anymore time with sleep I don't even need.

I have times where sleep is difficult for me, but the last couple of weeks I've actually been sleeping pretty well.
I feel my best with about 6.5 hours of sleep. I find if I sleep more I actually feel like I have less energy. I wonder if this is because I was so used to sleeping less hours all through high school and college and even for awhile the first few years of working out of college (2 jobs). Either way I think everyone has a sweet spot when it comes to how much sleep they need.

Maybe it's just an off day, if you feel the same tomorrow, it might be workout related though.
Stretching in the morning usually helps, though I usually move around for a minute to warm my muscles enough to avoid injury. My morning coffee helps too of course. emoticon

Funny enough I feel more tired today than yesterday. Yesterday I got six hours of sleep, with interruptions, today I got eight, again with interruptions. Usually I'm good to go with eight hours whether it's interrupted or not. I feel sleepy, but energetic, and that's why I think I'm hitting a hypomanic cycle. Having energy and not sleeping well are big signs of it.

I'm living on the Claritin, over the counter stuff. It helps some. Man I'm having a hard time getting out of bed lately though. I just want to sleep. I am not sure if that is a getting used to working out thing or I'm just being lazy thing. I'm usually a morning person.

Sorry to hear about the allergies, I hope your meds straighten them out though.

I did have a pretty awesome day. Still on track with doing yoga, which I notice is effecting my muscles too. emoticon
