hot cocoa sounds yummy right now. It's only 54 degrees here in Prescott right now.

Yeah I already checked on that. I'm trying to work things out with some people she knows to see if they could take turns taking her every week.

How is your week going?

Does the hospital she goes to have medical transportation? Most don't but it''s worth finding out.

Tea sounds great, I always mean to pick some up, but tend to forget. I should pick up diet hot cocoa come to think of it, 35 calories per packet, and not overly sweet like regular cocoa.

I guess I don't have that issue, I live in the south where it is usually always warm and sunny. the days do get a little shorter, but the average fall temperature is 70 and sunny.

I worry about finding someone to get my mom to her next 12 chemo treatments, she cannot drive her self there, they give her medications that make her sleepy.

This time of year is hard. It gets dark so early and the cold makes me want to just snuggle under blankets. But hot teas are so good. I don't add anything to mine so its hot and filling. emoticon

Good to hear from you, and glad to hear you're both doing well. :) It sucks you have to go back for work, but I'm sure someone will be able to check in soon.

Anyone else start feeling like crap this time of year? I love fall, but it makes me more depressed, and anxious than usual, and finding the motivation to work has been rough. I still do it, but it's because I know I have to. I just want to oversleep, overeat, and not give a darn. Lol.

Sorry I've been MIA for a couple weeks. A lot is going on, mostly to do with work. My mom is staying strong and is still kicking butt so far. I'm very proud of her. Work is making me come back and leave her on the 29th, I'm trying to work out someone staying with her.

Well my head hasn't started killing me yet, so that's good. What isn't good is the lack of food in this house (my dad's), and there's nothing I can do about it. As much as I love Honey Nut Cheerios, they aren't much of a filling breakfast, but I was saving the last two eggs for lunch. I crack them open, and go to pull out some bread for an egg sandwich, and it's all moldy. So I ended up eating a medium egg, with an added white for lunch.
Still starving, and there's nothing I can do about it. I could eat more cereal, but I'm already trying not to binge (more pms issues lol), so I know if I ate something like that, I'd eat a ton of it. On top of that, I have a workout to drag myself through. Guess it's a third cup of coffee kind of day.

At least my head's not hurting yet though, I can manage dealing with the rest. Lol.
I hope your allergies are better today. At least with fall coming so fast, it'll give the allergies a rest for awhile. Assuming you don't live somewhere with year round plant life. I try to work out earlier than I expect my migraines to kick in, but sometimes they surprise me early. I always do kettlebell training in the morning, so even if I can't get in my afternoon workout, at least I feel better knowing I did something for at least 10min.

Chrimson hasn't been on in awhile. I hope all is well with her, and her mom.

Happy belated birthday!

And I am sorry you were feeling so ill yesterday. Hate those hormone migraines! I have had a frustrating headache the past two days, but it was my allergies. Ragweed has been horrendous. Thankfully we are getting rain today so I feel better. I should have been working out most of this week, but when I feel like that, with headaches, I don't bother. Usually it makes them worse for me. Sometimes your body just needs to recover.

Hope you are doing better today!

Ugh, it's that time of the month, or in my case every three months, which means I get to enjoy a week of migraines! Joy! Usually they start in the late afternoon to evening time, but today it wanted to surprise me by showing up before 1.
On top of that I forgot to put more of the medication I have for it that has any chance of putting a dent in it at my boyfriend's house. I have Excedrin, and while it's great for headaches, it's no match for my migraines.
On top of ALL that, I still have a thirty minute strength workout I absolutely have to do. I need to stick with this new routine of 30min three days a week with recovery days in between. Since weekends are more difficult, that means Mon, Wed, and Fri are those three days. Hopefully since I follow that up with yoga, that'll help.

All I want to do, is make my room as dark as possible, curl up on my bed, and lie there. I guess I can be more disciplined than I realize sometimes though.

Yeah, I inspect all around the toilet when I go in there now. Lol.

Drank, and ate like crap this past weekend, lol. Birthday celebrating tends to go that way. Today is my actual birthday, and I'm spending it getting back on track. Big strength workout this afternoon, and I'm looking forward to it. :D

Good luck to you both. :)

I think I burned all the calories I need for this week. Might be tmi, but you never move as fast as you do when you're leaping off the toilet because you realized there was a huge flipping spider right above the TP. Max heart rate achieved, lol.
That aside it's been an ok morning. Kettlebell training done, yummy breakfast, and facebook bingo to kill some time.

Everything with his cleaning went well and no teeth pulled, so that's good. I can pick him up later this afternoon. They told me like three times I didn't need to bring anything for him because he probably wouldn't be eating. I took his food, glucose tester and insulin. Guess what? They needed it. I did find some treats that are supposed to clean teeth, but who knows if they really work.

Sounds fun. When Discovery Fit & Health was FitTV I loved the cardio kickboxing episode of All Star Workouts. :)

I can never finish programs either, even ones I design. I find I do my best when I just decide what I need for the day (strength, cardio, yoga or whatever combination of them) and go for it. I do use my kettlebell everyday though for at least five minutes. It's a great well rounded workout, but it burns calories so fast I had to cut back on it, lol.

Thanks, my mouth has been so much better since having them out. I used to have pain in the whole row of teeth because of the bigger one coming in. Though it's weird having an empty little pocket there now, lol.

Sorry to hear about your cat's health struggles. Hopefully the cleaning goes well, and helps a lot. I know they have dental chews for dogs, is there something like that for cats? Just to kill bacteria, and prevent tartar build up?

How's Turbo Fire going? When it first came out I was doing the program but I never finished it. I can't seem to finish these programs- they take so long! RIght now I'm doing a combo of Turbo Jam and Chalean Extreme. I like it ok I guess. I also couldn't get all the way through Chalean Extreme without getting bored. I guess I like variety! I'd like to get back into Turbo Fire though. I love her energy!

Glad the wisdom teeth are out! Hope you are feeling better!

I took tomorrow off, so I have a four day weekend. Nothing planned, but I'm ok with that. Tomorrow my cat goes in for a teeth cleaning, which I've never had done before. I normally wouldn't, but he has been getting alot of sores on his mouth, which become worse because he has diabetes. So I'm hoping for the best with that!

It is one of the beach body workouts from teambeachbody.com. They are the same people who make p90x, etc. This is more of a cardio kickboxing type workout. I think it's fun.

Yeah there is little to no humidity here, unless it is actually raining, which doesn't happen often. That is why this rain we've been getting is such a shock. The ground is so dry, it can't absorb it and it causes flash flooding.

I did day 1 of turbo fire last night.

It was alright. Same old, same old, except my boyfriend had to work Sunday. I ended up hanging out with my dad all day, we went out to lunch, and I helped him get the lawn mowed.

That doesn't sound too bad, mid 80s is about as much heat as I like to deal with. Lol. Humidity is definitely the main factor though.

We have flash flood warnings again tonight. My mom lives in the mountains of Arizona though, so it's not hot like people would imagine Phoenix. The highest temp since I've been here was 86 degrees so far. At night it drops to the 50s. It's actually quite beautiful compared to the hot humid Dallas weather I am used to.

I'm here, it was just an off couple days. How did your mom's blood test go? I hope you guys can get some rain that isn't too heavy, and causes flooding. I couldn't imagine living out where it gets so hot and dry, but I've never been one for high heat, lol.

Arizona definitely needs the rain, the problem is, it is so dry here, when it rains this much it causes flash flooding because the ground can't absorb it. I guess it's caused a lot of damage further south.

My mom has blood work done today to make sure her white blood cell count is high enough for her next chemo treatment tomorrow.

Yeah my mouth has been normal since yesterday. It feels good to have them out, and not have random mouth pain now.

Sorry to hear about the rain. We're about to get rain to, well, it's 50/50, but chances are the system on it's way is going to blow up by Michigan, and hit us good.

My hubby had his out not too long ago. He was eating normal and pretty much back to normal after about 3 days. So if you had no issues during extraction, I bet you will be back to normal by the weekend also.

I'm working from AZ right now, sitting in my mum's office. It's been raining here like crazy!

Thanks, and yeah, I just use a video to mp3 converter, and get the songs off youtube. Takes time, but it works.

Just got my wisdom teeth ripped out yesterday so I was on a soft food diet. Had broccoli cheddar soup for lunch, and some spinach, onion quiche I made from a spark recipe later on. Made up the rest of my calories in beverage form. Today I'm still keeping it relatively soft, I think my mouth hurts more from the dozen novacaine shots than the missing teeth, lol. Hopefully by Monday I'll be 100% back on track.

I hope she does, I worship my mom, she has always been my strength through everything, it's my turn to be there for her. She is absolutely amazing!

I hope you can find some surveys and such to help you out. I'm sorry to hear about your anxiety, my husband has anxiety, and it got worse after what happened to his kiddo. He is on medicine for it though, and it seems to be helping. Be careful with free downloads, they watch those sites like crazy nowadays.

Well I'm doing side work for my dad which gets me a little here, and there. Plus he lets me have the money from recycling his cans, and bottles since he just wants them out of the house. Things are kind of difficult with the combination of no car, no license, anxiety issues, living in the middle of nowhere, and whatnot. It's not the most optimal time to find a job. My focus is on working on driving without panicking so I can get my license.
I do have a website I can write articles on for a few bucks per article, but it's hard to think of topics that they'll want to pay for. I've tried to find survey sites but most are either scams, or want to pay you through a bank account, and I don't have one.

I have been working on re-downloading music for when I do get a new MP3, but I had so many songs it's going to be a long process. Frostwire isn't what it used to be either. The computer has crashed a few times in the last couple years, so what would have been a good collection is long gone. It's ok though, I can wait until after the wedding to save up for a new one, and in the meantime I have a plethora of songs to download.

Glad to hear your mother is doing so well! Sounds like she's a really tough woman, and I'm sure the support is what helps keep her so positive. :) Keep us updated.

My mom is an amazing woman, she is so strong I can't even explain it. She has had her first rough chemo treatment, 1 of 4 in the first round, and her white blood cell boost shot. The chemo was Thursday, the shot Friday, and she is sitting at the kitchen table eating some berries and pancakes I made her for breakfast. Other than some minor headaches, and a little less energy, the only thing she has complained about is some heartburn she has never had before. She is taking everything so well, I'm proud of her and hope she keeps positive through all of this!

How is your weekend?

How's your mom doing? Hope everyone is doing well! I am hanging in there - just waiting for the work day to be over. Your company's gig sounds pretty nice! I need to find something new soon. I start to look and then stop because it's just not the right time, and then I start again.

Do you not still have all that music on your computer that you can re-sync to your future mp3 player? I know you can earn money doing surveys online too, I do it sometimes, I can earn almost 30 bucks a week only doing 3-4 of them a week :) Just a thought for you.

Are you looking for work, or interested in anything? My company is looking for people in other states to go gather information and take pictures of properties for us. They pay pretty decently for it.

Well I can't really get anything right now that I don't really need. Though that is a great idea. We're going to Florida in October for my boyfriend's best friend's wedding, and I need to have every penny saved... which is hard when you're unemployed. Fortunately I use bing to get reward points that I use for amazon gift cards. It takes some time, but I'm able to get things I otherwise couldn't. I need hair dye, dry shampoo (My hair gets oily crazy fast, and washing everyday can be inconvenient), and new foundation because my skin's darker from the VB trip.

After I worry about the things I want to have before going down there, I hope to get a cheap MP3 to last me until I can get a nicer one. Unless it turns out to be nice. :D The big issue is remembering, and downloading the hundreds of songs I had. T_T

I'm sorry to hear about your mp3 player, that sucks. My hubby is refreshing all the music on my iPod for my road trip tomorrow. My iPod is like 3 generations old, but I'm fine with that, it works just fine. Have you ever thought of going up to a pawn shop? I can find 3rd gen nanos like mine for 49 bucks usually....don't know if that is out of your budget, but thought I'd suggest it.

They say menopause usually helps, so we just have to wait until we're about fifty. Lol.
Only 26 years of excruciating head pain for me, almost halfway there.

That said, I kind of want to, and kind of need to mow the lawn today, but my motivation is just gone. I miss my MP3 player, but it died, and I can't afford a new one. Well, it didn't die so much as fell off me somehow getting out of the car, and took a shower in a thunderstorm. XD

Gotta do it though, so I know I will.
Depending on the radar because it's cloudy and I want to make sure there's no rain nearby.

morning ladies! Hope everyone's Saturday is epic so far. I woke up with a terrible migraine, just took some ibuprofen and drinking some coffee (caffeine) to see if I can get it to go away. I've got a lot to do this weekend before I start driving to Arizona Wednesday.

Yeah, none of us kids live close, most of us have moved out of state, and none of us live closer than 4.5 hours away. I am the only one who would have the ability to work from home and I've worked something out with my job. I'm just going to play it a day at a time and hope for the best. She is all we have and I need to keep my spirits up for myself and for her, in case this is it.

I'm sorry to hear that, and I hope the treatment helps. It must be hard since she''s so far away while going through this, but some people are just content where they're at. It's sweet that you're willing to do so much to be there for her regardless.

Yeah she was diagnosed with stage 3 Inflammatory Breast Cancer a couple weeks ago. She had the chemo port put in yesterday (my sister is there this week). I will drive the 1100 miles to her on Thursday, her first chemo treatment is Friday. I'm going to use a week of vacation for the first week and then work remotely for a couple weeks and see how it goes. She is determined to go through treatment there, but I would rather come home with me and do treatment here :(

Trips are fun, but they sure do take a lot out of you. I came back, and the next day I had a cold, it's starting to go now, but geez. At least it waited until right after the trip I suppose, lol.

We had fun, spent a lot of time on the beach, went para-sailing, visited the aquarium. Gained a bit, but I have plenty of time to bounce back. At least it wasn't as bad as I feared. It's a little hard to get back on track, but I'm working on it. Gonna miss it, the weather was great, and there was so much more to do.

Whoop, whoop! Lol. Sorry, I'm excited. We're leaving tonight, everything's just about packed. Long ride ahead, but it's going to be an interesting experience. I have to take a lot more pictures this time, I tend to bring my camera everywhere with me and rarely use it. This time I want so many pictures that uploading them to facebook becomes a headache! XD

I don't know how much I'll be on the computer in general, let alone on SP. If I don't pop on, I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend, and wonderful week! Stay positive!

I love swimming, which is a lovely segway into telling you guys that my boyfriend and I are going to Virginia Beach for a week. We're leaving Friday night, like midnight. It's a nine hour drive, and we don't want nine hours of traffic so that's why we're leaving so late/early. I'm just regretting not starting a better strength training regimen earlier. emoticon

Bringing my yoga mat, and kettlebell, because this will not be like last vacation where I didn't workout the whole week. Turns out the place we're in is one of the few without a gym, lol. It pays to be prepared!

I used to love to go hiking, but living in a concrete jungle now, there isn't really anywhere to do it at. Besides it is also flat and there are no mountains for hours.

I really need to get into the pool again. With my back issues and the amount of pain I've been having lately, it seems like my best option to get some exercise in

When it comes to bored and emotional eating I try to distract myself. I'll workout (which also helps with improving mood), or play boggle online (since it's online you can't just step away for a snack unless you don't mind getting kicked), or in the case of emotional eating I'll just go in my room and rant/cry it out depending on the emotion at hand. It may not work for everyone, but it has for me.

Hiking sounds so fun. I'd love to find some good trails but nothing's close. There's a ton of woods around here, but it's all personal property, and not as safe as real trails since if something happens your chances of being found would be bleak at best.

I definitely do the bored eating as well. I just like to eat. No lying about it or denying it...I love food lol.

Had a great weekend. Did alot of hiking over a couple days. Can't say that we did a bunch of eating. I guess that's a good thing. We really don't have any friends around so we just hang out with each other. We did go to a birthday party for my husband's grandfather, so that was nice.

I ordered Les Mills Combat on ebay and got it for a fantastic price. I'm a little worried about starting it just yet. It seems like it could be harder than Turbo Fire. I think I'm going to finish out this first month of the combo I'm doing with TJ and Chalean Extreme. That takes me to August 1st. Then I'll decide what I want to tackle next.

I think On-Demand has free workout stuff on there. At least it used to. You should check that out.

Emotional eating I'm not really sure about.Thinking through it, it might be a good starting point to think about triggers and maybe alternative things that you can do when you have a trigger. I don't know....was just trying to offer a suggestion. I'm sure you have already tried that. I find I eat when I'm bored. Like mindless eating.

I ate way too much this weekend. I am feeling it this week, and my sciatic pain is bothering me this week as well. I guess I did too much at the lake house on Saturday.

Anyone got any pointers on how to fix emotional eating? I've been doing a lot of it lately :(

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Spent some time with the family myself, ate a lot of crap, drank a lot of crap, lol. Been getting back on track though, and won't touch the scale until I've been on track for awhile too. I won't lie, I'm scared of what that number would be. Plus it's a lot of extra food weight, and water retention so no need to get myself worked up over that. After a few days of drinking a lot of water, and getting back to normal, then I'll see where I'm at again.

Hope you had a great 4th!
Check out the website nerdfitness.com, there are some great blog and strength training there with using just your own weight. It's a fun site.

Nah, I get a good workout from dancing, yoga, and kettlebell training as it is. I am working on adding some extra strength throughout the week because increasing my muscle mass, and improving strength are my two main goals. :) I see it as if I can lose 50lbs without the gym in the first place, I don't really need it now.

Happy July everyone, and if I'm not on tomorrow, happy 4th! It's going to be BBQ weekend so good luck to everyone, lol.

Happy July to you as well...yay for today being my Friday!

I'm sorry to hear the gym is too far away. Have you ever looked into the beach body workouts that you can do at home?

Glad you had a good time, it may have been pricey, but it's ok, it's a special occasion. :)
I wish I could get to a gym, but it's too far, and I can't drive. I have to be my own gym, lol. It sucks because I would easily qualify for low income payments at the YMCA, and be able to go anytime for about $10 a month. Then I could use the gym, the cardio room, the pool, the courts.
Oh well, I have my mat, my kettlebell, and my body ball. I also have dumbells and resistance bands, but they're from when I first started working out, and are kind of below my level now. The dumbells are 5lbs, and good for certain workouts like bent over chest flies but that's the only one I can think of.

I gained more weight than I care to admit over the weekend (most yesterday) which is bumming me out. I know it's mostly food weight, and water retention, but it still sucks, you know? It'll balance out in the next few days, then I'll know where I'm at. Trying to stay positive, I'm back on track today, and that's what matters.

Thank you. Dinner was awesome, very expensive for my spending, but awesome :)

I think I'm going to start my day at the gym today. I'm going to finish my coffee and get my gym clothes on :)
