I have a lot of hair, but it is very thin strands (my hair stylist says). It is very frizzy and living in TX with the humidity, it stays that way. I was told I should stop washing it every day, try to go every other day or even every two days for optimal results. Problem is it's so oily if I do that, but then he said, it's oily because it's too dry from washing it too much, the oil production slows if you stop washing it so much. So I got a dry shampoo for the in between days and I'm going to try it and see how it works...

A couple of my coworkers want me to join the gym across the street with them (the hotel gym) and go swimming on my lunch break. Not sure how I feel about being a beached whale in a suit around all my male co-workers...

@Almisse - The supplement I took was from GNC and it says Hair, Skin, and Nails. I ran out a month ago and need to get another bottle. It has a lot of vitamin Bs and if you are interested in foods that have these vitamins as well and other nutrients that help with hair skin and nails Ive listed them at the bottom of my post.

HAIR
My hair is terrible it is dry, thin, and frizzy and I have a sensitive scalp that itches whenever I try to use an anti-frizz cream or oil.

So when I went on vacation with my husband and met one of my husband's aunts who has worked in the hair industry for YEARS I asked her for some recommendations because she works in high end salons and gives classes and what not so I can share what she gave me but I haven't tried them yet.

This is what I have in my notes

Pureology - hydration
Naturally based oil not silicone - tamanu
Biolage - natural
Smooth infusion oil
Need hydration not protein

So yep that's what she was telling me for my hair type. I'm going to look them up and pick one or two to try on my hair.

She also said Sally's was crap and stay away from them.

I've read deep conditioning your hair once a week with coconut oil should benefit but I always forget when the weekend comes or I'm busy doing other things that I haven't tried it yet.

@Christine No one should make comments on anyones body ever. Unless its something like I like your hair style. That goal is very achievable and I believe you can reach it. Your plan sounds great, make sure to keep us updated.

I want to reach my goal weight before Christmas, I should have reached it in August but I havent been as consistent or disciplined as I want to be.

Here are foods that contain nutrients/vitamins that help with hair, skin and nails

B1
-Nutritional yeast, pine nuts, soymilk, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green peas, asparagus, most beans, rice bran, watermelon, whole grains, macadamia nuts, artichokes, coriander.
B2
-Whole grains, almonds, sesame seeds, spinach, fortified soy milk, mushrooms, quinoa, buckwheat and prunes.
B3
-Chili powder, peanuts, peanut butter, rice bran, mushrooms, barley, potatoes, tomatoes, millet, chia seeds, whole grains, wild rice, buckwheat, green peas, avocados, and sunflower seeds.
B5
-Nutritional yeast, paprika, mushrooms, sunflower seeds, whole grains, broccoli, avocados, tomatoes, soy milk, rice bran and sweet potatoes.

Vitamin A
- All leafy greens, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, carrots, winter squash, wheatgrass, grapefruit, cantaloupe, red bell peppers, orange bell peppers, and goji berries.

Vitamin E
- All nuts, all seeds, avocado, spinach, rice bran, wheat germ, whole grains, broccoli, mango, tomatoes, kiwi fruit, swiss chard, olives, mustard greens and asparagus.

Zinc
-Beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, oats, wheat germ, and nutritional yeast.

Call me Sandy. My goals are performing 50 regular push-ups in 1 minute, doing a 5 minute plank, being able to do a pull-up, run for 2 miles and and reaching 130 pounds.

I guess I've never lost enough weight or inches to notice a change in my boobs. I'd be ok with losing some though, I'm very top heavy. Most of my weight is in my stomach though. When you have hormone issues that is where it tends to gather the most. I've been asked many times when my baby is due because I am not that big all over, just in the middle. I get really offended sometimes and don't mean to be mean, but will reply, I'm not, I'm just fat, some of us can't have kids even if we really want them. :(

I'm ready to start back on my weight loss journey for real this time. This Sunday I plan to jump back in full throttle. Exercise, food prep, all of it. I have a goal to be under 200 by January 1st, 2017. I weighed in this morning at 238.4.

The body can be so weird when it comes to fat loss, I envy women who lose from their chest last. T_T Though to be fair, I didn't have much more when I was heavier than I do now, lol. My tummy, and hips are the spots I carry it most.

What do you use for hair, skin, and nails, Sparrow? I don't pay much attention to my nails, because I'm still working on the biting issue, and most of my skin issue is how easily I get moles, but if I could find something that actually worked for hair I'd be happy. Not that I can afford it at the moment, but I can note it somewhere for later. :)

I workout at home, so I'm fortunate to not have to get up motivation to go all the way to a gym. However, I tend to procrastinate so I've found that I'll give myself a time I want to get started (usually 9am) and a time I absolutely have to get started, just stop what I'm doing and get it done (usually 10am). I tend to get to it around 9:30 this way, so it works out better than it did when I just said I'd do it at 10.

I'm going to get a foam roller, and lacrosse ball so I can work on my mobility more. I have tight hips, and hamstrings so my lower back can act up pretty bad. (Weird how that stuff works.) The pain throws off my deadlift form sometimes, which will only lead to more issues if I don't get on it now. There's a routine called "Limber 11" which is supposed to be a bit of stretching combined with a dash of torture, and I want to give it a shot. Along with my usual stretches.

Does that mean certain areas have shrunk? My boobs have shrunk so I went bra shopping and got 2 bras for $20!!! They were in the clearance section yess and so pretty.

My lower half remains mostly the same I believe. I haven't done measurements yet to compare. I shall try this weekend or tonight.

Great job on the productivity! I wish I could focus right now but my mind is all over the place. I hope your headache goes away.

Making it like an appointment or having a reward for going may help in the motivation.

Some of my clothes feel baggier, and some of them do not.

I was very productive at work today. I now have a headache lol.

Yay on the work stuff going through ok. Minor hiccups always seem to happen no matter how much you test.

A good thing about knowing where the stairs are is if there s a fire or the power is out.

You can do it! Get thee butt to el gym. Pack your stuff and put in the car, set yourself an appointment to go. Pre-pick an award for going.

I need to find where the stairs are, and if they have floor access since we have to have a badge to get into our suites. I will look into this week though.

The weekend was ok, we got a lot done. My stuff went live Sunday night. We had a few minor hiccups yesterday, but nothing show stopping. It looks like everything has run correctly this morning, so that is great!

I still find myself procrastinating getting my butt into the gym.

Hey everyone! I'm back from vacation! Had a great time but it was quite busy.
We caught a bit of the Houston rain when we stayed there for the night before heading over to Calgary and I was reading the news on Louisiana just wow lots of rain.

@Katrick - Sorry the move hasn't been going great I hope the rest of it is a lot better and I hope your calves feel better now.

@Almisse - You have reminded me that I need to restock on my vitamins and my hair/nail/skin supplements.

@Christine - How was the busy weekend? I hope it was good. Taking the stairs would be a good daily exercise even if you just take the first few and then the elevator the rest of the way.

Thank you Almisse.

My friends are horrible at painting, but we got the place primed. I got all the spilled paint cleaned up and hired someone for the rest of the apartment cleaning.

Now to unpack. I have 1 week to unpack because next week I have game commitments lol

Chrimson - I don't typically use a lot of supps, aside from creatine, and vitamins, and sometimes preworkout to give me that extra boost when I'm feeling lazy. I'll also make stuff with protein powder sometimes, like coffee, french toast, oatmeal, etc. However, if I have the chance to try some for free, I'm not passing that up either. :D

Looked like TX is getting more rain today, hope you're ok in your area.

Kat - Holy stairs! Gonna have calves of steel with all that stair climbing.
Sorry to hear the move has been such a challenge though. :(

Yeah this year the flooding has been Houston for the TX area, Dallas had all the flooding last year.
Wow, that is a lot of stairs! You go girl. I am on the 18th floor of my building. I'm not sure I could make all 18 floors, but maybe I should start with a couple and work my way up?

I don't take any workout supplements, I need to just work out more, I slack off a lot lately.

My area is not getting a lot of rain, just some here and there.
I hope things get better for Louisiana and the places that are flooding.

I am SORE!!!
67 flights on stairs Friday, 61 Saturday, 11 Sunday, and already 29 today.
Sunday, when I got out of bed I practically fell down immediately because my calves yelling at me "no, not today". At least I know my legs are getting a bit of a workout with this move.

The one was a preworkout supplement, I'm pretty caffeine tolerant so it wasn't much of an energy boost, but it more than made up for it in improving focus (which I can use considering how often I need to slow myself down and pay attention to form, lol).

The other is protein powder, plus some recovery-based supps. While I don't think my recovery is all that bad, I'm interested to see how it works. If I don't feel the need to deload after the six weeks it'll run for, then I'll know it made a significant difference.

I know we haven't gotten it as bad as the southern states, but this system is still kicking our behinds up here. There's still a tree down on this road, from Sat night. We went out the morning after (to find something to do because the power was off all night, and it was way too hot), and there were a lot of trees, and lines down. I was surprised we even got power back yesterday. Supposed to get more rain tomorrow, just hope it's not so bad.

I leave for my trip tomorrow. Yessss. I'm just counting down the clock now so I can escape.

But I'm going to finish cleaning tonight and packing.

I have been packing, and cleaning.

I had a fun weekend with my niece this past weekend. I got her into Pokemon.
It was hilarious because Sat night she was running around and said "I am Pikachu, you are Pikachu's human".

I begin moving this weekend... oh I hate moving but it is a must.

Ugh crowds I hate crowds. That's a reason I could never live in New York, I like to visit but would never want to stay.

I've never been to Joe's Crab Shack but my friend Mel loves it and says it's better than Red Lobster (which I love) so I'm going to see how they compare.

I lived in Houston for 7 years. It's an ok place to visit, but I wouldn't live there again if I had choice. Extremely crowded, hot and muggy and just wasn't a fan. There are also cool places though. I definitely like Joe's crab shack.

@Christine - August is testing us. We can defeat it!

Happy Monday everyone! My vacation is coming up!! I go off to Calgary, Alberta, Canada via Houston, TX this Saturday. We reach Houston Saturday, spend the night and then early morning we continue to Calgary.

Plans for Houston are Joe's Crab Shack, Walmart and maybe a gun range.

My lack of motivation and exercise this week was bad. Honestly I just didn't have the want to do anything. Been a bit unmotivated and under the weather. I'm trying to get back on track today though. I'm planning out my meals for the week while I catch up on email and spark. I'm also cooking breakfast for the family, even though it is after 10 and they are still asleep. I've been up since 7.

I've lived here all my life so I'm used to storms but we're also lucky as we don't get hit nearly as hard as other places. Hopefully I haven't jinxed it.

I haven't been active this week. I was feeling very down for most of the week so that affected my fitness. I think I'm finally getting back to normal today though did some strength training this morning working with dumbbells for about 10 minutes.

I'm going to save up for adjustable weights because if I get the various sizes the prices are going to be about the same but adjustable weights take up less space.

Call me Sandy. My goals are performing 50 regular push-ups in 1 minute, doing a 5 minute plank, being able to do a pull-up, run for 2 miles and and reaching 130 pounds.

The electricity came back up in the evening. We of course had to leave work early which meant staying late wednesday and yesterday in order to still have my 1/2 day today.

It was warm in the offices on wednesday due to no AC for several hours, but it is back to normal.

I wouldn't want to live on a coast because of the various kinds of storms you can get, but I would like a pretty beach view too lol. I think I could settle for a nice lake property with pretty water in place of a beach.

I have not been walking this week. I have strictly been cleaning and organizing after work, and doing projects (like organizing clothes and taking pictures of all clothes for a closet/outfit app).

This weekend, I have my niece, and will also be packing and such while she is at my place.

Ah yes water quality/prettiness would be a big factor for me.

Oh, I'm definitely a beach bum, I just don't want to live near the gulf of Mexico, the water isn't very pretty there anyway. I'm more of a west coast/cold water girl, or put me in the Caribbean, I'd be willing to take on some storms to live on a beautiful tropical island. For now I will live the 4 hours inland that I do and have less chance of issues. Might not be so bad if I lived in smaller town instead of 4th largest city in US at the time.

This week is soooo long. I just want to sleep. The kiddo starts school on Tuesday. I still cannot believe she is an 11th grader.

@Almisse - The storm moved more south so we just got some rain and it's windy right now.

Woohoo on getting the promos. What do the supplements target?

@Katrick - Glad to know no one was hurt in the accident and only the power was affected. I hope it's back up now as I can guess no ac in this heat would be awful.

@Christine - It's wasn't a hurricane just a tropical storm (thankfully) and it went far south of us so no direct hit. I'm so glad you weren't stranded with a hurricane bearing down on you as well but sucks about the gas issue. I can't see myself living far from the sea despite hurricane season being half of the year, I just love the beach and swimming. I've been through one hurricane so far and that was a category 5 (Ivan).

Make sure to rest up and drink lots of water! I hope you get better soon.

Hope you were not hit too hard by the hurricane @Sparrow. I left Houston after Rita hit with no intention of living anywhere near the gulf ever again. I was one of the millions trying to evacuate (I was mandatory zone) and never got out of the city. Like thousands of others, I ran out of gas, with none left in the city, and it took me 14 hours to go 45 miles. Even though the storm turned at the last minute and hit Louisiana, it was enough reality check for me.

I've been a little under the weather the last few days. The stomach is not happy and I'm very fatigued. I guess I've got a small tummy bug. Sorry I've been absent lately, working a lot of hours right now.

I haven't caught many new pokemon. I have hatched a few though.

I have been focusing on my place and getting things ready for moving, plus babysitting my 4 yr old niece this weekend.

Yesterday, on the way back to work after lunch, we couldn't drive our normal route because right before the parking lot to our building there was a fire truck and police making the entire street turn around. While my coworker drove, I noticed a cop and ambulance at the parking lot across the street (and I dont mean across the street we were uturning onto). It turns out some guy had hit the transformer for our building, continued to drive past our parking lot, across a street, and finally stop in the other parking lot (the street he was on has a 35 mph speed limit). He somehow made it past the sign for our building, between 2 trees, and past the sign for the other parking lot without hitting anything else or getting hurt. It however meant our power was down.

I did get a lot done while home yesterday though. My bathroom is in order and my clothes are sorted. Now to just do my kitchen and living room areas.

@Sparrow - Home phone, just no cell/smartphone. Made one on my boyfriend's phone so I could use it here and there. Caught an abra in a waiting room, lol. We live in the middle of nowhere, so it's not like there's a lot of anything, and no pokestops, but I can still play sometimes.
Glad you shouldn't get too severe of weather, hopefully no power outages to worry about. Fingers crossed.

So I applied for two promos on bodybuilding.com's forums and won both. One's a preworkout that I just have to do a review for, the other is a whole stack of supplements that I'll be logging for the next six weeks. Logging just means journaling my workouts (which I do) on the sponsor forums, and noting how the supps work. Reviews aren't required, but I'm doing those too, after all it's a bunch of free stuff, and supps are pricey. A friend got in it too, and she's done stuff like this before, so I feel better knowing I can ask her if I have any stupid questions, lol.
So yeah, pretty excited about it, but the hard part is waiting patiently for them to get here.

Ok got the flashlights!

Tropical Storm Earl should be passing south of us tonight. We've been getting bouts of heavy rain and wind every few hours and should be having a lot more tonight. Don't know what hour (as in before or after my bedtime) but husband and I brought in things that could possibly blow away or put them in spaces to keep them from blowing away.

Ok thankfully its more a tropical wave/storm and it's going south of us (hopefully it doesn't shift north) but that is still lots of rain and wind. Power will most likely be cut so I need a flashlight and need to charge the electronics.

Finished Finding Audrey and am back to reading an anthology called Zombies vs Unicorns :D. It's short stories about zombies and short stories about unicorns.

I finally after 2-3 weeks made it to the beach yesterday. I am so out of swimming shape I was mostly floundering, it was very hard to get my flow/rhythm on but I stuck it out for 35 minutes. The water was so warm. My plan was to use this swim to gauge if I could handle next week's sea swim and run and I don't think I can.

I know someone who lives in Addison, and they swear by Addison Circle and Bethany Park for Pokemon. He definitely has more than me. I told him when they go Pokemon hunting that I could come join them.

I have seen several good places for pokemon. I just haven't had the time to go there for extended periods of time.

Yeah I find that my Pokemon app crashes a lot during the day in downtown Fort Worth. I think there is just a lot of people connecting and all the buildings effects the GPS signal. I've caught a couple new ones I didn't have down here though.

I heard Addison circle, which is usually busy is REALLY busy now with people there trying to catch Pokemon. It's funny the things people are posting about it. On facebook there is actually a DFW community Pokemon group.

I found a Reddit post where people are keeping track of where certain pokemon nests are located. I have a list of place I want to go walking around DFW. Like there is a park that regularly spawn Charmander, a different park for Growlithes, another for Ghastly, another for vulpix, and so on.

Also, apparently Ft Worth Botanical Gardens has Drowzee..... oh if only my PTC account could log in while I was there for a baby shower, but PTC (pokemon trainer club) was down the day I was there.

@Katrick - Thanks for the tip I just told my husband about it :D. Oh yay on the date going well your feelings about your next one sounds right haha. I'm going on vacation in a little over 2 weeks I can't wait for cheap clothes and food! Which reminds me I need to look up a Joe's Crab Shack.

@Christine - Our pokestops seem to be monuments and statues. There are a lot in the downtown area here too :).

I'm almost done reading Finding Audrey, I tried to finish it htis morning but I was close to being late to work I only have a few pages to go! If you like light funny reads I recommend it. I could actually relate to the character very much which makes me wonder if I suffer from anxiety though not as severely as she does.

I am now up to trainer lvl 18. I have hatched 54 eggs (at least thats what my Breeder badge says).

If you need help finding Pokemon, there is a website that sparses pokemon go information, it is called pokevision. You can see what pokemon are up, and how long they will be there. I got home from work, ate dinner, looked at the website and saw a Seaking at my apartment mailbox. It had a 2min timer on it for it's despawn time. I went and got it!!! The area I normally walk is constantly bare on that website, but is where I have caught several pokemon. So it is not the most reliable, but if it shows something I know it is there. It just doesn't show everything.

I have not been tracking anything except my walks. I did go to a mall on Saturday for pokemon. Found out that Forever 21 is selling Cami's for $1.90 a piece!!! I totally bought a ton of new cami's.

Oh, and I had a date on Saturday night that went really well. We are supposed to go out again this upcoming weekend. I am incredibly excited and scared.

You both are higher levels than my husband I think he's an 8 my friend is at 10. There is someone in my department who is 21 o.o.

A bookstore here had a special here last Saturday. Catch a pokemon in the store, screencapp it and show it to them to get 10% off. My friend caught one so I got a book :D. Picked up Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella. I love this author her books are always hilarious and this one does not disappoint.

We too have issues at lunch time with the app freezing and then we cannot get back in. I constantly get the all servers are busy, please try again later screen. Wow, a level 16? I'm only a level 13, almost 14 and I started playing as soon as the game was put in the app store. That's pretty impressive. I hatched a 5k egg with a squirtle the other day.

I walk a lot but it is not enough. I need to really get in the gym, in a pool or a dance class or something. I feel so icky and fat.

I will do Pokemon Go in the car, but not while on a street. I have circled parking lots and will pull into a parking spot or be stopped at a parking lot stop sign for a few seconds in order to get pokemon or pokestops. My car is stopped while doing pokemon Go.

There are some parking lots that usually spawn a good amount of pokemon.

There is a walking trail I have learned of that I might drive to in order to try. I also may go try a few malls.

Sorry I've been gone for a bit. I picked up a book from the library Saturday and started reading it yesterday. It's called The Humming Room by Ellen Potter and it's inspired by The Secret Garden. I am liking it so far. I started working on pull ups Sunday and my arms and shoulders are still sore two days later. I hope they are better tomorrow so I can continue working on my pull ups. I haven't gone swimmng for over a week :(. I miss it and the beach but this week's going to be busy poo. Oh I finally started tidying the bedroom! I still have ways to go but it looks a lot less cluttered now. I need to get my husband to sort through his stuff.

@Katrick! - That's great! See that's one of the things I like about this app it gets people moving. You know the same friend who thought the game was stupid? She's playing it now lol. And she's used it in the car! I told her not to do that because it's dangerous and illegal, I hope she listens to me. Sorry you couldn't catch any at the gardens, the game still has some kinks to work out but that's expected with new things.

@Christine - That's great you and your coworkers are doing this together :D.

I started Pokemon go on Thursday and I am now lvl 16. My highest is a 1016cp Flareon, but my 2nd highest is only in the 500's.

I was so bummed. Yesterday I was at the Ft Worth Botanical Gardens for a baby shower, and I could not log into Pokemon Go. I even got there early to walk around a bit... I got to see other people stop and catch pokemon while I kept getting "unable to authenticate."

My apartment area is a dead zone. I have been going to a creek with paved walking trail to catch pokemon.

Sorry I've been MIA for a few days. Been putting in some crazy hours at work. I've been playing Pokemon go after work and on my lunch break. A bunch of my coworkers and I walk around downtown catching Pokemon. I am a level 11, but my highest level Pokemon is only 754. Most of the gyms in the area to fight have much higher defending them. I am on team Mystic, my daughter chose team Valor.

It sounds like you got a lot done around your home. I really need to do that but I've just been way too lazy lately.

Yeah I read it like the kitties had been locked up for a week. Sorry for the misunderstanding. My 3 kitties are somewhat separated at night because they like to fight also. One is kind of mean, she's old and cranky.

The things that are happening to people like walking off cliffs, or walking into a street is the person's fault not the app. Everytime I see a loading screen, it says be aware of your surroundings.
The apartment place I am moving to in August is right across the street of a creek with walking trail and children playground. I went walking around there last night, and found a basketball court, and 5 pokestops on the trail. It took 1.2miles to go around the whole walking trail. I went around it about 3 times last night... I think I have become pokeobsessed lol. I got in 15k steps by the time I went to bed (10k was done after work for the pokemon).
I am also sticking with places I know.

They are somewhere in the home. Somewhere. I hate when I lose things and then they turn up later when I'm not looking for them. Hopefully you can find them soon :).

On Pokemon Go when were getting dinner my husband discovered there were a bunch in the area but we didn't go get them. He did get one in the parking lot I think he's up to 3 or 4. My friend who was with us thinks the whole thing is stupid, she had to deal with her son being obsessed with it when he was a kid and she was not impressed with the low graphics of the game back then or the show. She shared a video of a girl getting hit with a car after walking into an intersection trying to catch a Pokemon.

I don't think it's the game's fault, people should still use common sense and not forget about their surroundings and general safety or the law!

Call me Sandy. My goals are performing 50 regular push-ups in 1 minute, doing a 5 minute plank, being able to do a pull-up, run for 2 miles and and reaching 130 pounds.

I have started Pokemon Go, but I do not have many... I am only 30min into it lol.

I like puzzles. Maybe I should do a blog post with images of some puzzles I have put together.

I went to label and organize various containers yesterday, and I could not find my stickers that are black chalkboard. I could find my liquid chalk markers but not my label stickers that are chalkboard. emoticon

@ALMISSE - You don't have a phone at all or you don't have a smart phone?

I'm kind of tempted to get Pokemon Go but I was more of a Yu-Gi-Oh! fan back in those days. Don't know what I'll do if they make an augmented reality game for that o.o.

And speaking of cats. My husband and I were house/pet sitting so his parents were watching our cat. We finally get her back tonight the little terror. She can be sweet but she has a bratty side.

Chrimson - Oh wow, my post sounded awful. I didn't mean they were locked up in a room the whole week. They're put in there at night because the dogs don't care for them (aren't violent, but don't care for them), so this way the dogs can come in at night, and feel relaxed, comfortable, and happy. They prefer to be outside during the day, so that's when the kitties are downstairs and have free roam. My dad being at work meant that even when they were downstairs, they weren't seeing people as much, which backtracked them on socializing a bit.
Lol, didn't mean to make it sound like they were abandoned kitty prisoners.

Kat - Sounds busy. Hope you have fun at the baby shower. I miss puzzles, but it's never something I remember to get. I should put a couple on my amazon wishlist, it's the only way I remember random stuff I want to buy, lol.

I want Pokemon go SO bad. All the ones I see people catching are the original 151 I grew up with, and I want my own Eevee! :D Unfortunately I don't have a phone, and Jay already let me put another game on his to play with. He'd probably not care if I asked to add it, but I wouldn't have it on hand to play much anyway, most of the time I play the other game is when we're in a waiting room, or long car trips. There'd be so many grass types out here in the sticks though, lol.
