I am glad that the doctor is getting your meds fixed so you feel better My husband has anxiety really bad and when the meds are not right he is really hard to deal with. I feel bad because I do not really know anxiety like he does, so it's hard to relate to, but I do know it is really hard on him and makes life hard also.

Sounds like a fun weekend...having a free weekend. I've been chilling this weekend for the most part. Got some things taken care of yesterday. I will start some laundry here shortly. In the meantime I'm catching up on email and watching fast and furious...the first original one.

I wish I could take the drivers test on a course. It's hard enough driving while knowing you're being evaluated without being on the actual roads. At least if I get so anxious I bump something, it'd be a traffic cone.

Turns out my medication levels were pretty darn low. My psych called me at 6:30 the other day, which is two hours after they close, just to get me situated with a new dosage. Picked it up yesterday, and hopefully I'll be feeling better again within a week or so. :) I'm so grateful, I did not like the reminder of what it was like without the right meds. So much anxiety over every little thing, ugh no thanks.

We were in VT over the weekend, and despite trying to cut down, I had a whole cheat weekend. No regrets, lol. Seemed like every restaurant had calorie counts on their menus. Some people say it won't make a difference, people will eat whatever anyway, and while that may be true in some cases, it does make you think twice. I knew I was having a free weekend, but was still ordering the less high choices (so much was over 1000 cals, wow!), even ordered lighter cocktails! Haha.

Our hotel had an indoor pool though, so I got in some extra cardio. Had to wear the swimsuit I'm least comfortable in, because it was the only one with strings so it'd fit me at my current weight. I actually handled it pretty well, and realized I'm just equally self conscious in any swimwear, lol. I'm working on it though, so I may as well have fun in the meantime.

It also had a pretty nice gym setup for a hotel. Got to test my one rep max on the basic lifts, even bench press which I haven't been able to test out yet. I beat all my short term strength goals! These are my numbers.

Deadlift (Sumo): 155lbs
Overhead Press: 65lbs
Squat: 105lbs
Bench Press: 85lbs

I was surprised I got that much, but I've studied the form so much so I'd have it down when I tried. Now I have new goals to beat, and I'm really glad I had the chance to test myself.

Highest: 178lbs Current: 130-145lbs (Depends)
Goal: Bulk, cut, repeat until desired level of muscle is built. Then maintenance.

In TX to get your drivers license, if you are under 18 (my daughter will be 16 in June). We have to either put her a driving course or we can do it ourselves. We can order the book and put her through so many hours of courses as soon as they turn 14. At age 15, they can have so many hours, then take the written test at the DMV and get their permit. A permit allows them to drive with a licensed adult. Then you can teach them to drive in the vehicle. She has to have so many hours behind the wheel, and pass the courses that we give her or the class gives her, then we turn in the paperwork to the state and the issue her a drivers license. I might have missed a step or two in there, but that is the gist of it. I plan to order the material this week and get her started.

How was your weekend? I hope it was well. Mine was pretty relaxing. My last day at the old job was Friday, I start my new job this morning. I'm nervous and excited at the same time!

Just got the call saying my medication levels are low! I'm seriously so relieved. All I need is to have them adjusted, and I'll be back to functioning much more normally, with significantly less anxiety. :D
He should make sure he doesn't have any contributing illness, if he hasn't already. Depression, bipolar disorder, stuff like that can cause more anxiety, and treatment can go a long way in helping manage it.

My parents never taught me to drive. My mom can't,and my dad didn't really think about it I guess, and it would have been too intimidating anyway. So Jay's been the one to help with that. :)

What stuff would you need to order? I don't know about TX, but all I needed was the book to get my permit, which could be picked up at the DMV. Honestly, I didn't even read it, the questions were multiple choice, and really easy. lol.

I'm sorry to hear about the anxiety. Anxiety can really set someone back, my hubby has anxiety really bad, to where he doesn't want to even leave the house some days. He is medicated for it, and they finally have him on one that seems to be helping. It doesn't take it away completely, but he is where he can at least function throughout the day.
I don't have much anxiety, I'm that hey everything is cool kind of person. I only experience anxiety when things could be bad, like a review with the boss, or something happening with the kid, stuff like that. I guess that is more of a normal anxiety.

I need to order the stuff to start teaching the kid to drive. She will be 16 in 6 months!

I just saw the goals thread when I clicked on this one, and I'm not sure if I have much to post. lol. I guess my goal is to just keep doing what I'm doing, as far as fitness, and cycling between gaining muscle, and losing fat. I started doing sumo deadlifts today, and absolutely love them, they're great for tall people. So I'm excited to get up to 100lbs on that lift.

I'm also getting strings and bridge pins for this beat up acoustic I have. I'd rather do that than get a new one since I'm not sure if I'll be motivated to stick with it yet. Only about $10 for those, and it'll be good enough to start with. Just gonna learn through internet videos, and whatnot. See how it goes. I was going to try when I was younger, but I didn't end up getting one, and it was harder with smaller hands anyway. It'll be something else to keep me busy anyway.

I do need to work on driving more. My mindset is getting there, but the anxiety still gets bad sometimes. Waiting for an upcoming appt so I can make sure my medication levels are still ok in case that's an issue. To be honest, I hope they're low, that means I can get a new dosage and feel better about it. If not it means I've gotta deal with it as is. I guess I'll find out, either way I really need to step up. I've let myself get in a comfortable rut for way too long, and if I don't get out of it soon, I'm worried it'll ruin my life. Can't get a home/property or anything else without money, can't get without a job, can't get a job without a license, can't get a license if I don't drive.

I'm both excited, and anxious about 2016. lol

Happy New Year!

It's always good to see people happy together. My mom had some shady boyfriends in the past too. The ones that even as a kid give you bad vibes and you don't want to be anywhere near them. I was so glad when she found my step dad Bill.

So got any goals for 2016?

That's so sad, but at least she got to enjoy the time she had with him. My mom's been with some abusive, chitty people. The last guy she met turned out to have a really shady recent history, he was recognized by someone at her house who said the guy was no good. Much better feeling about this one though, they were so adorable cooking together, and you could see they were happy. I'm hoping the best for them.

It does give me a small raise, but it will mostly improve my sanity!

I'm glad you had a nice Christmas. I was always weary of my mom's boyfriends growing up (my dad left when I was 4). Then she finally found her soul mate when I was in high school, married him and he died during heart surgery. She was devastated and never really dated or anything ever again. He died in May 2002.

Christmas was fun, hung out with Jay's family, played with the niece and nephews. Jay's brother in law brought over his handgun so we could try shooting it (not with the niece and nephews of course, lol). Then later we stopped by my dad's place, and yesterday we saw my mom and brothers. Met her new boyfriend, and I'm usually wary given her history, but he seemed like a nice, genuine person, so I'm happy to see her so happy.

That's great you have an offer for a new job. Will it help more financially, or mostly help your sanity? lol.

I hope your Christmas was awesome, enjoying it with family is what it is all about.

For new years, we don't really have any plans either. Usually a few friends come over and we just hang out, not really the party type any more either.

Things are ok financially, just learning to adjust to having extra bills is all. Also I've been offered another job, so pending my background check and such, I will finally be away from the jerk boss I have.

I'm sorry you're feeling out of the spirit, holidays are hard when you've suffered a loss. As material as it can seem sometimes, family is still the focus for the holidays. I hope you still have a very Merry Christmas.

I'm sorry your financial situation gets better. I'm sorry you're shouldered with so much. :(

I'm on the weight loss wagon again after my mom's Christmas dinner on Sunday. It's shorter than I planned for a building cycle, but Jay mentioned of going to FL in Feb, and if there's a chance of it happening, I want to get down to comfortable again... plus my clothes aren't fitting too well. lol.
If we do go, at least I'll be at a comfortable weight, if not I still get to see how much muscle I built, and continue to lean out until I'm ready to build up again. I'm going to miss eating so much, lol.

We don't really have plans for New Years either. Usually we have a couple drinks or something. Not big partiers. Hope that you enjoy your New Years, whatever you decide to do. :)

I haven't felt in the holiday spirit much this year. Finally just put up a tree this last weekend. We didn't do any other decorations, it is just not the same without my mom this year.

I've been working on my eating habits again, jump starting the weight loss again. I'd gained a little with emotional eating when mom died. I'm trying to budget better as well, now that I have two houses to take care of financially. My siblings are not in a place to help me keep the AZ house running right now.

I don't have anything planned for new years yet either. Haven't thought that much about it.

Sorry! I haven't been on in so long! Between the holidays, not being online as much, and generally being forgetful it kinda got away from me.

Classes can be a great way to stick with a routine. I'm more solo myself, but a lot of people benefit from a group setting. :)

My Thanksgiving was good, had dinner on the day with Jay's family, then again the following Sunday with my mom. Then yesterday we had dinner with Jay's family as a holiday thing because his sister is up from FL for a few days. Sunday my mom's doing one as well. No complaints here, I'm loving all the food. lol. Nothing planned for New Years, probably just end up having a few drinks together at home.

I'm sure I will find my routine again. In the past I really enjoyed classes, but I definitely want to get into weights again, I need to build back up this muscle and burn all this fat lol.

That's awesome. :) I find working out has become a huge stress reliever/mood booster too, once you're in the habit of it, it does good for you physically, and mentally. Of course, it has to be something you enjoy too. Some people prefer weights, some prefer cardio, some like classes, I'm sure you'll find something you like sticking with.

After Thanksgiving, I'm getting more serious about getting healthy again. I made a promise to my mum before she died that I would do better about getting healthy and take care of myself for her.
I re-activated my gym membership and when I get back from AZ I plan to start using it.

I'm glad you were able to raise the money to achieve your fundraising goal. It's great that you have such supportive people to join you during the breast cancer walk. Your mom would be proud indeed.

Thanks.
I just feel lost right now without her. I'm used to calling her a couple days a week, telling her about my day. She'd be so excited to know I achieved my fundraising goal for my breast cancer walk this weekend. She was originally supposed to be waiting at that finish line for us. Instead it is now in honor of her. Two of my sisters, my husband, and a few friends are all doing this in her honor. Starting Friday morning we being walking 60 miles for breast cancer.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Chrimson. As you said, she's no longer in pain, but loss is still painful. My thoughts go out to you, and yours during this time.

Mom passed away Monday October 26,2015 at 6:50 AM (Arizona Time).
It was a long hard battle, but her body could not take any more treatment. She is no longer suffering or in pain. I am devastated and miss her so much, but I am glad she is no longer suffering.

I'm very sorry to hear. I pray that what you try does help her and believe that a miraculous recovery is possible. Don't give up on her or her chances for recovery and hopefully she'll catch some of that from you and not give up either.

I am in Prescott with my mum, I took an emergency flight here last Monday.
She has taken turn for the worse, is now on hospice and they say it could be days, weeks...it's up to her and if she will eat or drink anything. She hardly eats or drinks and her body is nothing left but a skeleton. It's so hard seeing her like this. Mentally she is all here, she is mum, but she doesn't look like mum any more. She is so weak that I lift and carry her onto her bedside bathroom chair and back to either her bed or her chair.

I hope it helps, like you said it doesn't hurt to try. It really sucks that the only treatments we have for cancer are so dangerous themselves. Wishing you both the best.

Her body is so weak and wanting to give up, any more poison in her body at this point could kill her. So no chemo as an option right now.
I am taking a holistic route and going to try some stuff, it won't hurt her any more, but it might make her feel better for awhile, doesn't hurt to try.

I'm glad she's well enough to be home. I understand her wanting to stop because it really is a lot for the body to take, but is it possible to slow it down instead? Like could she still get treatments with more recovery time in between treatments, and have it be effective?

I'm sorry she's having to go through all this. :(

Glad you are having fun with your new bar.

It's a really good price. The one I found on amazon was 55, but had a lower weight capacity. Dick's has a bar of the same length 300lb capacity for $135, but another brand 7ft bar for $80. So for a cheaper brand barbell it's a good price, and for barbells in general it's a great price. lol
It came in the mail and I've been having fun playing with it, and practicing deadlift form. :D

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom, and I hope she gets well soon. I understand how hard it must be to not be able to be there. :(

Sweet! Is that a good price for a barbell? I've never priced them before, but that seems reasonable.

Mom was admitted back to the hospital on Monday, she has pneumonia again. I'm said that I am not there with her and she is in the hospital all alone :(

Ouch, sounds like you need to get the hubby to give you a foot massage. It was nice of him to at least start the laundry though. :) Hope your feet feel better soon.

Oh, and I'm finally getting m barbell. Order it on ebay for $50, and has a 500lb weight capacity, which is impressive for a 6ft bar (standard length is 7ft, but I don't need it for a bench, and it'll be easier to balance).

Oh how my feet hurt!
I walked over 10 miles yesterday, so far the body is doing ok, but the balls of my feet are pissed off at me. I did manage to get the laundry done, and actually when I got home from my 9.4 mile walk he had already started laundry and had one load in the dryer and another in the washing machine. At least he started it for me. Of course I had to fold and put it all away though lol.

Today is about surviving how tired I am, drinking my water and watching what I eat!

Jay has work all weekend, even so the car's still crapped up so we wouldn't be doing much. Plus I just got out of a bought of depression that kicked my arse for a few days. Feeling better though, so I can get back on track.

Two weeks of laundry is unacceptable! He need a butt kicking, lol. At least he didn't burn the place down though. :D

Got anything fun planned for the weekend? I will probably catch up on my chores and such that didn't get done last weekend while in Oklahoma. You don't think the hubby would actually do laundry while I was gone....nope now I have 2 weeks of laundry to do this week.

Yeah, it sucks because it's like "I want 'x' equipment, but i also want supps, but I kinda want to get my hair done..." Lol. Priorities though, muscle will last longer than getting my hair done will.

Foam rollers are awesome. I have yet to get one *adds to long list* but everyone I talk to absolutely loves them!

Hey I think it's awesome that you save up to get things to help your health and strength goals, there is nothing wrong with that. Workout equipment and weights stuff can be super expensive. My next purchase, I want a foam roller. My PT group showed me how to use one Monday and it's amazing what it can do for sore muscles!

Great job with the water, and step goals. :) Every little step is a big step in the right direction.

Sorry work is so frustrating, hopefully things get sorted out, and calm down soon. Sounds like a real pain in the arse.

I'm finally saving up for a bar, and plates! I wanted to get more preworkout powder, but since I'm building muscle now I should start seeing strength increases. A bar is cheaper in the long run, because getting a couple plates here and there is cheaper than buying new pairs of dumbbells each time. Plus it'll help with a well rounded routine. I'm still bummed though because I really like using preworkout supps for the energy boost, and extra reps.

#brokelifterproblems lol. I'm halfway to the cost of the bar though, so that makes me happy. :D All in all it'll benefit me a lot more to have a great routine, than a little extra energy will.

What you say makes so much sense!
I did better with water and my step goal yesterday, plan to keep the momentum up today and drink even more water and hopefully take even more steps! It seems like we have issues at work constantly with our new portal. I don't know if our testers are not testing very well or what, but they told us we were good to push to production last night, then turn around and say there is problems with stuff we just fixed. I don't know if it is because the things do not work in the production environment or if it is because they are not testing well before saying we can make a release. It's frustrating.

It'll be seven years this December. :)
I guess we kind of get used to whatever situation we're in at the time. You spend enough time in a certain place, looking a certain way, around certain people, that's just what you become accustomed to. Not only do you think less and less about when things were not that way, but it may make it harder to make changes too because you get in a routine, and aren't used to thinking "ok, this is the new thing I have to do today." That's why having some sort of support, or community (online or otherwise) helps because it helps you actively think about those things.

Hope you had a good weekend.

Sounds like you guys have been together a long time. Yeah I've been overweight a long time, I don't remember the thinner me, so the opposite of you haha. My brothers I swear are taller every time I see them, although they haven't changed. They are both in the 6'4 range. I have a picture in high school with my younger brother shorter than me, such a strange concept, he was only 7th grade at that time. Then I have one when he is a freshman in high school and he has me on his shoulders carrying me like I am nothing. Good times.

Hope your Saturday morning is starting off well, mine includes taking my Lexus in for her 25k service here shortly.

I'm going through my photobucket this morning. Almost out of space so I'm trying to this it out a little. A lot of not great photos and videos that can go. I don't have a lot from when I was heavier, but the ones I do have are kind of surprising. It's weird that I spend most of my life overweight, but it's still a bit of a shock to see myself like that again. Lol.

Also surprising how young my little brothers are/looked when me and Jay first started dating. One of them is going to be 18 this year, so he would have been 12 back then. He was so little! Time flies.

If I can fit it into my budget, I am going to try and go to OKC and see her for at least the day this weekend.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's hard when you want to be there to support someone, but close or far she knows you have her back. Hopefully the drama gets sorted out, and you get to see her, and your niece soon. :(

Cool video, I started watching but haven't finished, I will finish it tonight after work.

I did not get to see my sister and niece, they did not come, and when I said I would come there she told me not to. There is a lot of drama right now with her and her husband. I wish I would have come though, it sounds like she really needs me. I hate living 5 hours away from her.

Well, I must have gained 5lbs this weekend, lol. My birthday's today, but since it's a weekday, and Jay has work we had some drinks, and junk over the weekend. It was fun though, no regrets. :D

Not me. Jay's working so I'm doing the same old things. Which is basically nothing, lol.

I hope you do get to see your sister, and niece. It'll give you something fun to do over your extended weekend. Even if it doesn't work out, I hope you have a fun, relaxing weekend. You need a little time off. :)

*Edit* Oops, almost forgot. I have a video to share that I found quite interesting. It explains why it's better to weigh foods in most cases as opposed to using measuring spoons/cups because of how inaccurate those can be. It's good to know when trying to lose weight since a lot of mistracked small amounts can be the difference between a deficit, and maintenance.
Of course it doesn't work with liquids, but for solids it's good info.
