Today I sat with a local lawyer and signed all of the purchase and mortgage documents for the house. Now I'm one step closer to being a home-owner! A week from today I take possession, and then my life changes in a big way. Tomorrow and Wednesday the movers come to pack my stuff (thanks to my company!) and on Thursday they're loading the moving truck. On Saturday I drive down the highway towards my new home, dogs and important documents in tow.
Sorry I haven't been on for a while. Leslie and I have a houseful of people staying with us for the next 3 weeks. My adopted neice and her family have moved in with while waiting for their house to close on. So our two bedroom house is packed with 7 people, 4 adults and 3 childre, 4 cats, and two dogs. The place that they were living in a/c went out. Since they were living out on an acreage with Crys's sister. Well just to suffice it to stay it was easier to come stay with us till their home is ready.
Kelley, good luck with your up coming move.
Kim, poor Murphy I hope he gets rid of the ear infection quickly.
Everyone have a great weekend!

We had tornado warnings yesterday and a funnel cloud touched down but it was just wind and hail in my neighbourhood. The schools were locked down in St.Albert and Fort Saskatchewan got it bad Kelly.

We had a tornado warming about midnight last night. Woke me up, but the severe weather was to south and moving to the east, so I went back to bed. I am not getting a great night's sleep at all. I do a lot of tossing and turning. I would love to have one night of no interruptions. Can't wait to see how training will go next week while the trainer is going on vacation, but it will be nice to see how everything ties together and how a biller's day goes.

The first couple of months on a new job can be overwhelming, because there's so darned much to learn. I bet you're sleeping REALLY well at night, because your brain is so tired.
Poor Murphy . . . you're right, he's not going to be a very happy camper for the next while.
Cheri, how did you guys do with the severe weather last night? We've had tons of rain (and flooding in the valley areas of the city) but thankfully no severe weather warnings.

Job is going ok. Still quite overwhelming as there is so much to learn and I still need to learn how it all works together. My training is going to be on vaca next week, so I will be shadowing the girl that I will be taking over her accounts. I will be allowed to work somethings while she watches and helps me.
Murphy's surgery was postponed until next Weds because he has a major ear infection. I did notice him scratching his ear the other day. Poor dog. He had his ears flushed and lots of meds put in them today at the vets. It is going to be a rough several wks for him.

The inspection went well, and the mortgage documents have been signed, so as of June 24th I'll be a homeowner. Wow! It seems like everything is just flying by at the speed of light.

Yeah, there are a couple of parks nearby, so that's very convenient. Jack Jack and I will definitely be doing a fair bit of exploring once we're in the house.
Today is the house inspection, so I'll be waiting on pins and needles to get the report from that. My realtor is attending on my behalf, bless her heart. She's gone way above and beyond for me. I need to find a way to thank her for it.

I wasn't feeling well today but it always cheers me up to come here and have news to read.I am glad you are enjoying watching the agility training Debbie and so pleased Murphy is feeling better Kim.
We got home from the agility trials about an hour ago. It was fun. The dogs were as much fun to watch as the handlers. This has been a 3 day trial. The handlers were more than happy to talk to us and explain how things worked. We also got meet most of the dogs competing in the trials. I will chat later.

Hi Debbie,
Thanks for checking in with the team. Sounds like you've had a busy week.
Will give Murphy a hug. He seems to be doing better than when he first tore his ACL, but he is on pain and anti-imflamatory meds.
Sorry it has been awhile since I have been in here. I just saw my oldest sister off from our place at 9am this morning. I have been busy with catching up laundry and getting the dogs walked. Then Leslie and I went over to visit a friend. While they did Japenese embroidery. I spent time in a recliner reading. Our friend has a lovely house with a beautiful view of woods. We thought about taking Josh and Katie with us. After some thought decided against it.
Josh is doing great in obedience. Kathy, our trainer, really has impressed us with the way she teaches her class. I was talking to her about giving Katie a refresher course. She asked me to bring her in next class to see what class she should be placed in. She is encouraging Leslie about thinking of agility for Josh. They are only 3 weeks into class. Kathy told Leslie that Josh won't have a problem with moving into the next level. We are going to an agility trial tomorrow that is being held at the place where our classes are held. I have only seen agility on tv. I look forward to watching it live.
Kim, give Murphy a hug for me. I hope all goes well with the surgery.
Kelley, I hope your move goes well to Calgary.
Cheri, hope you, Lacey and Al are doing well.
Well it is past midnight and church comes early in the morning.

I take possession of the new house on June 24th - not sure when the movers will arrive with my stuff. It hasn't been packed up on this end yet. I have to be at the office in Calgary on July 2nd. There is SO much to do between now and then!
Poor Murphy . . . Cockers really seem prone to ACL tears. I hope the surgery goes well and that he recovers well.

Just got back from the vet's office. Murphy was limping big time last night. He tore his right ACL on his hind leg somehow sometime after just seeing him walking normally. He will be having surgery on Weds. I hate the thought of having to have him crated again as he wasn't crazy about it. Also he will have to wear the cone of shame again. Poor boy!!

Job training is going well, but still overwhelming. I am mentally tired when I get home, besides physically tired. I am not used to get up so early!! Probably be in bed early tonight.
Just dropping in to say hi. I am leaving tomorrow to go to my family reunion and shoulr be back sometime Sunday. Have a great weekend!

Guess I forgot to post yesterday. Very tiring day, mentally, but I survived. Learned to do some reports today and was told to pull them tomorrow when I get in. Should be interesting if I get them right.
The women in the building and dept are pretty friendly, unlike the last job I had!! I was invited to lunch with a couple of them, so I felt good about that. Also at least I don't have constant calls coming in with complaints like the last job. I think I will like this job once I get going.
I heard they have a gym on the first floor, so I am going to ask about that during orientation on Monday. Parking is expensive where I have parked, so I need to park at the one I used to when I worked downtown a couple of years ago, it is about half the price. Also it is about a block walk to the building I work in. That would be getting some exercise in that way.
It has been a busy weekend with helping tornado cleanup. I hope help my church with office work tomorrow filling out with the neccessary paperwork for getting out and helping the tornado victims. Next weekend is my family reunion in Davis OK. It will be a time to see family members I haven't seen in a year.

Haven't done anything exciting for my last day of freedom. It is gray and wet today, same as yesterday, but today is warm. Getting a little nervous about tomorrow. Need to figure out what I am going to wear. I hate this kind of weather, because you never know what to wear.

Happy Memorial Day! Not much of a holiday as it is raining. Guess I will start cleaning out my drawers in my bedroom. Get rid of some clothes that don't fit. Did my closet the other day.
It has been a busy week weekend with my great nephew graduating from high school. He starts college in the Fall. I am so proud of him. He got a full ride scholarship.
Kim, I am sure you will do fine with your new job. I sure hope it is better than the last one.

Hi Debbie! I am getting a little nervous as I start my new job this coming Wed. I sure hope it is better than the last one I had back at the beginning of the year. That was the worst job I ever had and I am hoping this will be my last job ever!!
I am going to the Farmers' Market this morning for their flower sale. Going to have to take the long way to get there as they are closing the streets for the Memorial Day parade.
Murphy and Sophie think I have been getting up to early for their liking. I have been setting my clock to get up early since I need to get on an earlier schedule for my new job. I have been sleeping through my alarm. Don't need to be doing that on Wed!!
Congrats, Kelley on the new job. Good luck with the moving part. When do you start the moving process?
Kim, how are things going with you?
Cheri, how is Lacey doing. Josh started obedience two weeks ago. His third class is Wed. He is very smart and learning quickly. He and Katie walk together now with no pulling.
Well I need to go for now I am going to try to get to zumba in the morning.

I saw that interview on Facebook the other day Kim. Isn't it incredible?
This is the same job, just a transfer to a new location. Driving to the mountains will be about 90 minutes, but on a clear, sunny day they'll be visible from my office. I'm VERY fortunate and very excited!

Debbie, thanks for updating us and to hear that you and Leslie are ok. Sorry to hear your aunt lost her house. I can't even imagine what that would be like, but at least she is ok.
I have been back online since Tuesday full time. Sorry this is the first chance I have had to get on in here. There was a tornado that came through Norman, Sunday that missed our house by about 3 miles. It hit Shawnee pretty hard. On Sunday also a tornado hit Carney OK. I aunt and two cousins live there. My aunts house actually sits on highway 177/ She lost her house and a barn because of that tornado. They all made it through though because they were in the storm shelter. The big two mile wide tornado that hit Moore, OK, destroyed two grade school, many houses and did a lot of damage. They had to shut down I35 till they could clear debris. Both my church and American Legion and the ALA are doing as much as they can for the victoms.
I do appreciate all of yours concern. Leslie and I feel we have been very blessed over the past several days. I hope all of you are doing well.

I woke up with a jolt this morning, suddenly remembering a friend that was supposed to be travelling to OKC yesterday to visit her sister. I sent her a text message first thing this morning and she told me that she'd been re-routed to Dallas and had spent the night there. She was driving to OKC. The news here reported up to 51 deaths this morning. So much loss :(

So, I took Jack Jack for a walk in the forest - the same path we've been following for ages. I wasn't really thinking about it being spring. It was nice and quiet for the first 1.5km, but then as we came around a corner, I saw a BEAR cross the path (far enough away that he didn't smell us or he didn't care about us). I had Jack Jack off leash, so I called him to me and we made our way out of the forest. Holy cow, that scared me! I know there are bears back there . . . it's THEIR forest . . . but I sure wasn't expect to come upon one in such close quarters. Thank God Jack Jack didn't catch wind and decide to chase it or something stupid like that.

Farley sleeps hard too . . . and with his hearing loss, it's tough to wake him up. But he does have moments of being frisky too, particularly around meal times.
The weather is gorgeous here . . . last night I put together my parents' new BBQ, and today I'm running errands and then definitely going for a nice long walk. It's way too nice outside to be sitting in the house!

I slept today, no getting up at 4:30am!! Now I feel tired. Took my first boat ride of the season yesterday evening. It was so nice on the water. I took pictures with my phone but can't get on my computer for some reason. May go fishing on Saturday.

I was up to early this morning (4:20am). I could not fall back to sleep after about 45 minutes. My mind kept wandering and was thinking about planting my veggie plants today. I made french toast at 5:30am and sat outside to watch the sunrise. The temp is fairly decent this morning and will get up to about 80. We reached 87 yesterday. I don't think Murphy and Sophie appreciated me getting up so early.
Cheri, Josh and Katie always come to me if Leslie yells at them. Katie will go as far as to avoid Leslie. Katie has always been that way. I had to tell Ray not to yell at Katie then expect her to come to him afterwards. He finally learned and so will Leslie. It is raining here today. I am wondering if they will be canceling obedience class tonight.

Yes Lacey loves to chew but she is so sweet otherwise and the truth came out afterwards AL had yelled at her for being in the garden and I was really sick yesterday my rheumatoid arthritis was acting up so even though she came to see me I was not really available to console her so she chewed on my shoe .I am her go to for comfort and if all else fails chew and get my scent !
I just let Katie and Josh outside with new chews from Denta Sticks. They are set for awhile. Tomorrow is Josh's first day of class. Leslie and I found the school last night so we can't get lost.
Cheri, I can sympathize about Lacey. Josh chews up anything he can get his teeth on, especially if it is paper.
I need to go for now and get the dishes done. Then Leslie and I are going to Wally World to do some shopping.
