I have a great way to fix asparagus, Wrap 4 stalks in a piece of bacon and use a toothpick, lay in the bottom of a sprayed cake pan. Drizzle a 1/2 brown sugar and stick of margarine over it and bake it in the oven 10-15 minutes on 350 until the bacon is somewhat cooked. It is delicious!

Pam - don't you live up north. Fig trees only grow down south. My in-laws had a huge tree in their yard and we would enjoy a huge crop every year. But now that I live in Idaho I can't get them either. They just don't ship certain foods into this out of the way place.

On the other hand I am eagerly awaiting our irrigation being turned on because asparagus grows wild and we pick it fresh until mid June. I count the picking as exercise because of all the stooping, bending and walking to get a mess for dinner. LOL

Love the supper foods. Not crazy about the artichokes but there are 9 other choices.

I wish I knew anybody with a fig tree I could kiss up to! I totally love fresh figs but they're so expensive.

I'm good with all but the artichokes. And fresh figs...I don't know if I can get them here. I ate them one after another, right off the tree in Italy, though. SO delicious!
