Well Lew I continue being busy doing nothing..... and yes am enjoying my great-great-grands. Today our other DGGD Tania spent the evening with her 4 year old Cyrus...who is such a bundle of energy. He wanted to show off his new somersaults to us but was disappointed that his partner in crime & cousin Zara wasn't here...but he entertained us all the same.

The weather here too is really dull and dreary has been raining inconsistently so can't even think of stepping out....so just doing what I'm getting to be really good at, rocking in my recliner and then a bit of reading...well that's about it.

Well it is my bed time so off I go....

Hugs & Prayers

Good night to all. I am headed to bed. Been a busy day, Judy brought another load of things to put upstairs. I get hair done in the morning, and then my handy man is coming to check on plumbing, and do some caulking around the tub and bathroom window for me. Had Brighthouse here this afternoon.

Hope everyone had a good day, it started raining here around 3:30, and was still sprinkling, and saying the same for tomorrow and Wed. We have had enough, they are saying this weekend the mornings will be in the low 70's I can take that. Get the flannel sheets out. LOL

Hugs and prayers to all.

LEW thanks for going to the devotionals. They still have Gloria's name but to change it I would have to start from 1.

Good afternoon Ladies. Yesterday I was busy all day long. I picked up my Grandson Josh early and he came out to do yard work for me. The first job was putting in 30 concrete blocks between the sidewalk and back of the sun porch. I explained how to level the block and get it looking right but he started off trying to do the job fast. After laying 6 blocks I looked at it and asked him if God wanted him to live a quality life or a fast life. He responded with, I"I understand what you're trying to teach me" and finished the job as well as I would have done it myself. After laying the blocks we moved on to tree trimming in the front yard. He's getting good with the chainsaw. He filled up all of my trash cans and I'll put them on the street tonight. After he completed I went back to preparing for the rest of the family to show up. I got the food all ready to go and when they arrived I started my charcoal and the cooked the meat. They stayed until about 9 PM and I went to bed soon after, I never got on the computer. Today I'll do a light workout but mostly rest.

Irene, thanks for the reminder. I went to the devotions thread and caught up on my reading. Some very good lessons there.

Mani, I love your statement. "I've been very busy doing nothing". I feel like I'm having more days like that.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Evening everyone...

Just realised I haven't been on Spark for 2 whole days....and as usual have been busy doing nothing. Well Friday we had bible study, but after an hour I was so tired that I excused myself from the class....Saturday was as usual evening with the grands, but chose to enjoy them from my recliner and happy rocking my twin great-great-grands, rather joining Zara & Cyrus. Today I dod make it to the church, but on my DGDIL's insistence I used the wheel chair and I was happy as I felt less tired by the end of it. Thampi did not join me to church as he simple slept all morning and we just decided not to disturb him. He had breakfast and went off to bed and woke up in time for lunch. Our DGSs kept him awake with a game of chess the entire evening as it was raining & we couldn't step out.

Hope all of you have a great Sunday....hope to catch up during the week

Hugs
Mani

Good evening Ladies. We had rain off and on for 6 hours this afternoon. At one point it got very heavy but after that it was mostly light rain. The temperature today only got up to 80. Sweet. Today I worked in the garage getting rid of stuff and straightening up other stuff. I didn't feel up to it but I just kept going back to it until I made some decent progress. Heather and Ethan stopped by and waited for Ethan's dad to pick him up for the weekend. I took the opportunity to give Heather my opinion of how hard she's working these days. She agreed and said she was taking time off this weekend. She does quality assurance on healthcare software and this is their panic time of year as they make changes to their software for enrollment season. In two weeks her workload should diminish greatly. She's loving this new job and has a great reputation with management.

Marsha, thanks for the compliment. I'm satisfied with the quality of my work and the headboard is very strong where I reattached the leg. Sara made that quilt and I gave her the Teddy Bear about 20 years ago. You're right. You and Sara do have the same taste.

Have a great day everyone.

Lew, you did a great job, and Sara and I have the same taste. Love the quilt and teddy bear. :)

It is hot here, rained during the night sometime. Looks like it might be getting a little cloudy.
I had to pickup some tests at the doctor's office, and then to Walgreens to PU a couple prescriptions.

Lew, sorry about the ice maker. I don't have one, just use the trays. :)

I take 2 HP pills in the morning, and 3 at night. All different ones. They have the BP regulated now, Don't know if she would change it or not. Kinda a worry. Went from a Stage 2 to stage 3 in 4 months. Sure don't want to keep going up. I put a call into her today, but haven't heard anything.

It has started to storm here, going to get a little rain I think.

Brighthouse comes tomorrow, I have a couple channels that arn't coming in right

Glad the carpenter came, and hope he does you a good job.

Going to call it a night soon. Kinda tired tonight.

Good evening Ladies. We had a cloudy but cool day. The remodeling contractor stopped by this morning to measure and talk to me about the project. He's really busy but told me he would work us into the schedule so that Sara won't fall again. He does good work, he cares about people, and that's why he gets my jobs. We have a wireless printer and it went offline yesterday and I've been researching and trying all kinds of fixes today. It still won't work but I'll keep trying it. Then, this afternoon the ice maker in our fridge stopped making ice. I tried to get it working and finally called for service. They can't get here until Tuesday so I broke out the ice trays and I'm making ice the old fashioned way. My weight dropped a half pound so my changed diet and exercise is starting to work.

Marsha, Sara has had some BP medicine that affected her Kidneys and the doctor changed the med. I hope they find the problem and can fix it. Glad to hear the rest turned out OK.

Have a great day everyone.

Lew, you are in for some remodeling it sounds like. I don't blame you for raising it, as we get older we seem to stumple a lot. I will catch my toe of shoe on the smallest things.

Went to doctor today, and I have #3 kidney disease. It goes from #1 through #5, and then kidney failure. She told me not to be too concerned as some failure goes with age. Thanks a lot. :) I am going to look up the foods I need to void. I joined a group here on Spark on Kidney Disease. My BD was excellent, and except for allergies, I am in good shape. I take several pills for HBP and I am going to see if any of them lead to kidney failure.

We didn't get any rain today, and how nice the breeze was around 7:00 when I took Ginger out by the pool. I felt fall in the air. :)

Sorry that the picture was fuzzy, but I do that also.

Hope everyone has a good night's rest, I have a ladies meeting in the morning at church. Fri. Brighthouse is coming as some of my TV channels arn't working right.

Hugs and prayers to all.

Good evening Ladies. We had a busy day. We have decided that we're going to make two improvements to our house. Our living room is sunken and a couple of weeks ago Sara tripped on the step up and fell forward on the tile floor. We're going to have the floor raised to the same level as the foyer and eliminate the trip hazard. I've been talking to the contractor that did our last work and he's coming out tomorrow to give us an estimate. Sara also wants to replace our 30 year old single pane windows with double pane. Today we went looking at windows at various places and gathered brochures. I should have checked Consumer Reports first because I did when we got home and their two best buy rated windows are 2 we looked at. Now we just have to decide. I was worn out when we got home.

Marsha, I did take a picture of the headboard but it's fuzzy. I guess I shook the camera. I'll take another tomorrow and post it. We didn't have any rain again today but the temp is staying in the 80s and I love it.

Mani, it sounds like you had a very busy day. I don't think I could sleep through traction. That's amazing.

Have a great day everyone.

Lew, did you get the headboard finished. If so, picture please. :) Have a great day, No rain this morning they are saying, maybe a few showers later in the day. The air was nice and cool when I took Ginger out this morning. Of course that won't last long. :)

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Evening everyone....

Today was a full day....left home at 7:30 for DH's check-up. We had our breakfast in the hospital. Our DGS Nathan and his wife Natasha accompanied us this time, of course Anita & Dan were at hand too. All well with Thampi....Neurologist, Orthopaedic, Nephrologist any GP all said he was doing brilliant 'for his age' and no major deterioration in his gait & balance or co-ordination & comprehension. Only the cardiologist had a problem with his cholesterol and an echo cardiogram revealed a slight thickening of the arteries. So he has 2 more pills to take. He also got to the dentist for his denture adjustments as his lowers had got a bit loose and he made a funny clicking sound when he spoke....That done and a thorough cleaning and hopefully Thampi goes back again next month only for his eye shots.

Got back by 12:30, had lunch and then in bed from 1:30 to 5:30 with my traction and slept through the better part of it. Didn't do any walking even at the hospital as I gladly accepted the offer to be wheeled around.... Right now, my post traction evening is generally in bed, so have comfortable propped myself up on my new cot and and enjoying the rains as I have a good excuse not to step out. Thampi is sulking as he has been forced to wear a sweater as it has got chill and he hates it.

Lew good luck with your weight hope you can break the plateau.....try altering your diet a bit, might help. Well Lew yes I have told Shana and have also told her cousin Lucas that he is my favourite great-nephew and Lucas' wife that she too is my favourite....what can I say when I have so many grands who dote on me need to keep all my children happy....

Marsha glad you had a great day and family and friends at hand to be with you.

Jo good to see you post and know that you are all well....

Have a great Wednesday....

Hugs & Prayers

Good evening Ladies. I've been doing a lot of odds and ends today but rested a fair bit after yesterdays workout. I had a few sore muscles but I stretched a fair amount and I'm feeling fine tonight. My weight is hovering and I'm trying to do more each day to get it moving down and I've cut back on my snacking. That's my weight control weakness. I'll get it moving in the right direction and my goal is to lose 10 lbs. by November 1.

Irene, I love fried fish but about 3 years ago I switched to broiled fish and I especially like Cajun broiled Catfish. Less calories and salt that fried. I also have essential tremors but it's not so bad that I can't do essential things and sometimes it's very minor. I find that my back exacerbates the tremor but I can adjust my posture and it helps. Weird.

Marsha, congrats on the "new house". Pressure washing has a dramatic impact on how things look. The rain completely missed us today but 10 miles south they had 4.5 inches today.

Jo, I'm glad you finally got everything taken care of with the insurance company. Your weather really sounds oppressive. 200 miles further north sure makes a difference. Don't you fret about my back. It only slows me down at times but it doesn't cause any real problems. I'm lucky.

Mani, really glad you're doing better. Do you ever tell Shana that she's your favorite. I kid with my grandkids and when one of them does something nice for someone I tell them they're my favorite and they all get a kick out of that. By the end of the year I've told all of them they're my favorite more than once.

Have a great day everyone

Mani, so glad you are feeling stronger today, and that some of your family came by to see you. Yes, always feel better when I get my hair done. I try to stay on the up path, doesn't do anyone good to always be on the down path. :)

I am blessed with dear family, and friends, and I am so thankful of that.

You are fortunate to have so many family members close by.

Hope everyone has a good evening, no much on TV. I want to change my shower curtain before supper.

Hugs and prayers to all.

back again - read and glanced at the older ones.

Lew -I know what you are going thru with back. since my last fall, cannot stand well or walk w/o help - when I go shopping always look for a spot with a shopping cart. very unstable walking with cane.

however I still try to do a little of everything. weights/ stretching etc. sitting down and when I try to do anything standing make sure I have my walker handy. all of this very difficult as I am use to much sports/weights/stretching etc. but age is creeping up - I think I must be the oldest.

OUR weather has been extremely hot - high humidity - in high 90's day and nite. even stores hot - you never see anyone walking outside - i think i am in the desert. suppose to be thunder storms all day today but all we have is heat.

Irene - wondered about you - happy you are home -just go slow - i lose my balance if i move fast so have to be very careful. i often wondered when all the different sports etc including dancing and down here advanced country dancing would catch up with me but i never expected to live this long. i outlived by many years all my family and friends. i think my Father's Mother was the only one lived to middle 90's but she was in Italy.

been sitting a long time at the PC so will close. now that i am back to normal i can concentrate on some normal activities.

happy everyone seems to be doing well - considering what so many are going thru out west and really surprised that much what they are experiencing is more our type of summer weather. no hurricanes expected but last nite we had a lightening storm but no rain.

time for my tea - love to have you all join me - gets lonsome here.

FINALLY -

last Fri - ended the mess created when I had that car accident. the paper work, phone calls etc was a nightmare - the new car insurance laws are a problem. I really thought just deleting collision coverage would be all but NO received a new policy covering the 2 months w/o collision - also refund. what a mess. State Farm was really great.

my health was affected by all this but THANK GOD I am slowly getting back to normal. so much was put on hold.

last Thursday I went to Dr. for results of my yearly checkup. all turned out well - my blood work was great - also rec'd the Flu shot which always affects me. you know with all the changes with Medicare I told the gals at the Dr's office just to tell me what I had to pay them for visit. seems they have to get all this from Medicare. Medicare now is very complicated with all these changes.

well anyway just wanted to check in - I was in no condition to handle PC so have to catch up.

will close this and hopefully catch up with all of you.

hope everyone is doing well - I Know many are in the locations with weather etc. problems.

now will quickly check posts. I missed so many.

talk soon.

JO

Good Evening everyone....

Feeling much stronger today and had a lovely evening with my favourite great-niece(My DB Francis' Grand Daughter) Shana who came to see me. She filled me in on all the news of her siblings and uncles and aunts and all the preparations happening for her eldest Grand-daughter's wedding. Yes my great-great-grand niece is getting married in November.

Irene good to know you have a friend who all come and do your nails for you...well I sail in the same boat...utterly helpless when it comes to doing my nails myself...completely dependent on either my nurse or the grands.
Thank you for the another good read Irene....full of hope and joy...especially as we know that our arrival is not too far...

Well Lew yes you do have quite a bunch of Spark Moms on this team my boy.... and enjoyed reading about your outing with your fishing buddy.

Marsha hope you have a great visit to your hairstylist always very uplifting to have someone pamper you with a good hair wash and a lovely blow dry.

Have a lovely Tuesday...

Hugs & Prayers to all

A friend is coming over to do my nails today.
Since I have essential tremor it is difficult to do my finger nails good and because of my back and the essential tremor can't cut my toe nails at all. This will be a blessing.
Then this afternoon I am to go to the doctor to get the results of my lab work.
PT just called and wanted to come today but had to tell him I had no time today. emoticon When it emoticon it emoticon

Thank you Lew for reading the devotionals. Sounds like good food. Catfish used to be my favorite but most of it is fried and salty and I'm not supposed to have either one.

Lew, yes we are to get rain through Fri. Really rain hard today. Had the house pressure washed this morning, and they just finished up when it started to rain. Looks like a new house. :) (I wish).

I get hair done in the morning, and if not raining I want to go to the Dollar Tree.

Hope everyone has a great night's rest. There was a nice cooler breeze when I took Ginger out for the last time tonight.

Good evening Ladies. Today was primarily a workout day. I did some core exercises, some stretching, 30 minutes on the treadmill, and dumbbell workout for my arms and shoulders. I spaced them out over 6 hours and got it all done. My fishing buddy, Dumont, and his wife picked us up at 3:30 and took us to dinner over on the Atlantic Coast. The restaurant had a strange name - Aunt Catfish's on The River. I couldn't believe how quickly they filled up after we ate. I had "Cat and Grits" (grilled Catfish on cheese Grits) and the salad bar. The food was outstanding and totally filled me up. That place is a keeper. Driving home we drove through a strong and noisy thunderstorm. I'm glad Dumont was driving. Monday Night Football is just starting and I'm planted in my recliner.

Jen, Sara and I went to Outback and I noticed that the prices have gone up. It's getting expensive. It's becoming a once a year place. The food is really good however.

Mani, I know it was your concern speaking up and I'm grateful. I just don't want to cause you Ladies any concern. A couple of years a go I commented on here about you Ladies mothering me. I feel like I have a group of wonderful Moms and I know Moms worry about their kids. I am enjoying the lower temperatures but they are still very warm for the fall.

Marsha, I don't know about the Tampa area but the next 4 days are supposed to be wet here. Hopefully it will be in the afternoon.

Irene, I really don't care where you post the devotionals. I'll find them and read them. I like "A vision of The Reward". All of these trials are just temporary and realizing that makes life a lot easier.

Have a great day everyone.

A Vision of the Reward

by Max Lucado

Paul said in II Corinthians 4:16-18, “We do not lose heart. . .for our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.” Hear what Paul called “light and momentary”—not what I’d have called them, and I think you’ll agree. Imprisoned. Beaten. Stoned. Shipwrecked three times. In constant danger. Hungry and thirsty. Light and momentary troubles? How could Paul describe endless trials with that phrase? He tells us. He could see “an eternal glory that far out-weighs them all.”

And you–you want to go on, but some days the road seems so long. Let me encourage you with this: God never said the journey would be easy, but he did say that the arrival would be worth it!

Mani, had a good night's rest, but still tired today. Probably take a little nap now that the workers have gone.

Sounds like you keep busy, and that is good.

GOOD MORNING ALL

Lew--you made me laugh--You a wimp? all that you do and you call you a wimp? never!!
You are like my DH--can't keep you down, even when something hurts--I guess that's from being a good 'soldier' - he was a marine a long ways back.

Irene--do what you are comfortable with. If you feel comfortable continuing to post your devo's here, that's fine with me...I just thought it would be more convenient to keep all of your stories together. But if you want to continue--that's working too. I just don't want to see the "devo " thread die out and also thought, as I said, it would be good to keep them all together. But I'm fine either way. Gloria's last post in the devo thread was last spring. I think she established it so we could go there and read our daily devo each day and know where to look for it....not have to search through the posts on the chat thread...but again, whatever works with everyone is ok by me.

Went to Outback last night as a treat of a friend from church who gave us a $50 gift card--great food and ambience but probably won't be back often. The servers were terrific, the owner came by and introduced herself, etc but the cost was a bit high for us LOL.

Gotta go....busy day ahead--it's Monday and I need to get moving...
OFF WE GO--

Lew I know you read the devotions I post on the chat. Jen suggested I post them on Devotions for dieters as no one has been doing this. If you would like to read them you will find them there.
All others who have been reading them I invite you there also.

Good evening Ladies. Carolyn, come on in and join us. I have had a busy weekend. This afternoon we went to our oldest daughter's house to join the celebration of our grandson Zach's birthday. We had a good time and came home tired.

Trust me, I understand what physical therapy is all about. I went through it the first time in 1963 and this is the 4th time since then. My goal in requesting PT was to learn some good exercises for my back. I had accomplished that and I wanted to shift the focus a little. I only have so much energy and I need to do some things to get my weight down. The intense workouts were stopping me for 3 days. Friday he put me through a slightly lighter workout and I've been able to exercise yesterday and today. That will get the weight off and I'll keep strengthening the muscles he was working on. I have lost 3 pounds in 2 weeks and I can do better than that if I control my exercise routine. I have 15 pounds to lose and that will also help my back. The pain is totally bearable so I just need to increase my endurance as I strengthen the muscles. Sean gave me a strength test as part of my last session and he told me I was stronger than most people he sees. He's happy with my strength. So, if I complain about my back I'm just being a wimp so don't worry about me - I'm fine. Tough as nails and twice as ugly. emoticon

Irene, those are some great reads. Moral Absolutes is spot on. The leaders of our country fail miserably in that area. Keep getting better dear friend. It's great to have you back. Oh yeah, your read from "Bedside Blessings", reminded me of a something I read or heard as a kid. "I cried because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet"

Jen, I would rather deal with a back problem than what you hubby has gone through. My Mom had that surgery in her sixties and the other knee in her seventies and she had a terrible time.

Marsha, like you we're getting a one day break from the rain but it's supposed to return next week. I'm enjoying these cooler temperatures.

Mani, sorry to hear you were ill. I agree with your doctors. You want a helping hand nearby when you do PT. It's so much safer for you and I don't want you to lose your balance and fall.

Have a great day everyone.

Well, hello to all,

Lots of stuff seems to be going onl

Welcome back Irene. You are a busy lady. You have so many devo's to post--and our daily devo thread has not had any posts in several weeks. Maybe you should post those Max Lucado pieces on the daily devo thread where they would have a 'special' place folk could go to and they would remain in a thread set apart for that purpose where we could refer back to them.

Lew--I sure hope you can keep up with the exercises so you will be back to 'near normal' quickly--I just can't imagine your life being inhibited by bone pain. My DH has had a horrible time getting his knee back since the replacement surgery--still going to rehab twice weekly and it still isn't right. Oh well, we 'ain't' 16 any more LOL.

You gals sure put me to shame--so organized--I try but just don't seem to get there. LOL

We plan to go to Outback after church this evening for dinner with DS Bud andhis wife and little 4 y/o Luke. Someone gave us a $50 gift card so that will help a lot emoticon can't wait.although I'm not eating much lately, tummy troubles emoticon .

Think I'll try for some emoticon this afternoon--so I'll close for now.

Till later

I know I posted a devotional today but this is so good and so many are going through so many things I thought we could all relate to it one way or another.

This is taken from Charles Swindoll's book "Bedside Blessings"

"As you read these words, you may find yourself in a situation that seems terribly unfair.
Your immediate circumstances are harsh and hard to handle.
Your heart aches as events beyond your control roll across your landscape like heavy boulders.
If that is your situation, I want you to take note: God knows, right down to the final nub, exactly where you are in life.
He sees.
He cares.
He is aware.
And best of all, He is touched by it."

Exodus 3:7 I have surely seen the affliction of my people....and have given heed to their cry.

Good Evening everyone....

Have been a bit under the weather and laid up in bed since Thursday night. Had keen throwing up all night on Thursday and then an injection helped control the nausea. But I am still weak and wobbly and as most say at my age it takes a while to recover from even a little tummy bug...
I was really upset with my condition on Friday and Saturday but by Sturday evening have been feeling much better...PTL.

Irene, love those beautiful reads of yours.... Thanks for posting them.

Marsha, happy to learn that your DGS gets custody of the child...but always sad when the little ones get caught between the parents.

Lew great news that you are unto doing the PT all by yourself...yes I agree with Irene it is all bout repetition...but my Orthopedic & Chiropractor insist that I do my PT under supervision for 2 reasons, one being my arthritis, osteoporosis and balance which makes it rather challenging and then the age factor just makes it more challenging.
Great that you were able to fix the boat loading issues...all the more reason to go fishing more often... and regale us with your stories.

Welcome to the team Carolyn....look forward to getting to know you batter.

Marsha hope the aching back gets rested and is as good as new for tomorrows church. Enjoy your Sunday with Judy....she sure is a lovely friend to have around.

Have a blessed Sunday
Mani

Moral Absolutes

by Max Lucado

When I was nine years old, I complimented a friend’s model airplane. He said, “I stole it!” He could tell I was stunned because he asked, “Do you think that was wrong?” When I told him I did, he answered simply, “It may be wrong for you, but it’s not wrong for me. I know the owner. He’s rich…I’m not.”

What do you say to that argument? If the majority opinion determines good and evil, what happens when the majority is wrong? A godly view of the world has something to say to my childhood thief. You may think it’s right. Society may think it’s okay. But the God who made you said, ‘You shall not steal’—and he wasn’t kidding. The hedonist’s world of no moral absolutes works fine on paper and sounds great in a college philosophy course, but in life? Paul described it best in Romans 1:21, “Their foolish minds were filled with darkness.”

Welcome Carolyn. jump right in. I have had a busy day, and am going to shut down soon.
I have my clothes laid out for church tomorrow morning. Judy and I will do something after church. She is off this Sunday, she works every other Sunday at the Library. She has to leave right after church on the Sundays she works.

It was nicer today than yesterday. Didn't get any rain today, supposed to rain tomorrow again.

I got a lot done today, grocery shopping, cleaned the sun room, and a lot of small things that I have been putting off.

Hope everyone has a great night's rest. Won't be able to answer all the postings as just too tired, and back hurting and not going to be able to sit at the computer any longer.

Peace with God

by Max Lucado

As a monk and his apprentice walked back to the abbey, the younger man was unusually quiet. But when asked if anything was wrong the student responded, “What business is it of yours?” When the abbey came in sight, the monk asked, “Tell me my son. What troubles your soul?” “I’ve sinned greatly,” he sobbed. I’m not worthy to enter the abbey at your side.” The teacher putting his arm around the student said, “We’ll enter the abbey together. And together we’ll confess your sin. No one but God will know which of the two of us fell.”

Doesn’t that describe what God has done for us? When we kept our silence, we withdrew from him. But our confession of faults alters our perception. Romans 5:1 says, “Since we have been made right with God by our faith, we have peace with God.” God is no longer a foe, but a friend!

Good evening Ladies. Today I had my last physical therapy session today. Sean had me fill out two questionnaires and he ran me through flexibility and strength tests. He said I did very good. I chose to end the sessions because I had learned all I needed to know and my sessions had just become more of the same but with more repetitions or weight. Now I just have to keep up the workouts.

We had a cold front go through yesterday and today has been really nice. Our temperature didn't get near 90 today. About 6 months ago I replaced the trailer for my fishing boat and didn't get out much until the last month. I was having a problem loading the boat after fishing. I took it back to the dealer and they fixed the problem and didn't charge me anything. That's why I keep going back when I need parts. Sara and I had rotisserie chicken for dinner and it was really good. I like it more than fried and it's healthier.

Marsha, as last nights game was unfolding I was thinking of you and hoping something had caused you to miss the broadcast. Watching the first half was so painful that I turned it off at halftime and went to bed. Sorry you had to go through that.

Irene, I'll be fine but thanks for your concern., Thanks for the excellent reminder of our debt.

Have a great day everyone.

Lew, sorry to say the press was right. What a horrible game. Thinking of all the money the players make, it sure isn't for us to enjoy. :) I turned it off right after half time. They are away 2 more weeks, and probably a good thing.

Sorry you are having back problems so bad, that is no fun. I buy the pain patches at Dollar Tree, and they do help some. (as good as the more expensive ones). I really need to go back to my chiropracctor, but I just over do, and back where I started. We that are active, and have been all our life are also hard heads. LOL

I enjoyed the story of your fishing trip, felt like I was right there. Take care of you, and Sara. We are here, miss when you can't post, put we all understand.

It has rained the whole day. My Grandson came to get a chest of drawers that I wanted to get rid of, but wouldn't fit in his car. He is getting custody of his little boy (6) next month. The Mother will only see him 1 Sunday a month. Sad, but best for the little one.

Hugs and prayers to all. I keep thinking that this is Sat. and tomorrow is church day.

How Much Do We Owe?

by Max Lucado

How do I deal with the debt I owe to God? Deny it? My conscience won’t let me. Find worse sins in others? God won’t fall for that. Try to pay it off? I could, but we don’t know the cost of sin. We don’t even know how much we owe. What do we do?

Listen to Paul’s answer in what one scholar says is possibly the single most important paragraph ever written. Romans 3:24-25 says, “All need to be made right with God by his grace, which is a free gift. They need to be made free from sin through Jesus Christ. God gave him as a way to forgive sin through faith in the blood of Jesus.”

Simply put. The cost of your sins is more than you can pay. The gift of your God is more than you can imagine. We are made right with God, by grace, through faith!

Good afternoon Ladies. I missed Wednesday. I went to the shooting range and after 2 hours there I spent the rest of the day icing my back. I've improved but I think I've been overworking myself the last 3 weeks and it caught up to me. At the range I had to take frequent breaks and get off my feet. It's time to ease up. However, I did go fishing this morning and spent most of the morning sitting and casting. We decided to try starting 30 minutes earlier than we did 2 weeks ago. That got us to the ramp more than an hour before sunup. The launch is located in a small cove off Haulover canal. It's called Bair's Cove. As soon as we left the ramp I noticed the fluorescence being stirred up by the scurrying baitfish. Looking behind the boat the motor was stirring it up and it looked like we had an underwater light shining back from the motor and the slight wake coming off the Bow of the boat also glowed. Later, as the eastern sky was getting lighter we saw a line of gray clouds about 20 miles out over the Atlantic. We were only 1 mile west of the shoreline. A huge Cumulo Nimbus cloud towered above the other and it had a perfect anvil top which indicates that it had topped out and would slowly decrease in height. Fishing was slow and we only caught one nice sized fish today. Just before we got off the water while drifting with the wind a large sea turtle surfaced right in front of us and seemed quite surprised by our presence. She made a loud splashy departure. We got of the water at about 10 and had an uneventful drive home. Good times with a good friend.

Marsha, the Bucs are on tonight and all of the ESPN talking heads a picking Atlanta to win. Won't they be surprised when the Bucs pull off the upset.

Irene, "The Universal Strategy of Impunity" is employed constantly by politicians. The sad part is that people fall for the scam.

Mani, there's always something going on at your house. It's so commonplace that when things are normal you say not much happening. I love it.

Have a great day everyone.

The Achievement of God

by Max Lucado • September 18

How can God punish the sin and love the sinner? Ponder the achievement of God. He doesn’t condone our sin, nor does he compromise his standard. He doesn’t ignore our rebellion, nor does he relax his demands. Rather than dismiss our sin, he assumes our sin and, incredibly, sentences himself. God’s holiness is honored. Our sin is punished. And we are redeemed.

Hebrews 10:14 explains, “With one sacrifice he made perfect forever those who are being made holy.” God does what we cannot do, so we can be what we dare not dream…perfect before him. He canceled our debt. He took away that record with its rules and nailed it to the cross. It was and is an unspeakable gift of grace!

Thank you Mani. I have heard personally from a gentleman in our church "It can't be wrong as others are doing it". I say I don't have to give account for them but I do have to give account for me.

Beautiful Irene and also a clear warning for all those who hide their faults in the garb of others' doing bigger crimes....just hope our politicians realise this and remember it.

HAve a great Wednesday
