Good evening Ladies. This morning I went to Publix to get steaks for dinner. After I got it home I put the top and 2 shelves on the Microwave table. It's all finished and ready for delivery on Christmas Day. I've been working so much on it I've pushed myself to the point that I got over tired. This afternoon I just rested. Heather and Ethan showed up for dinner and I grilled steaks and roasted Potatoes. Sara made a Tomato and Cucumber salad with Italian dressing. Dinner went great and we enjoyed their company until 8:30. They left as the hard rain started. It's supposed to end overnight and then we have one cool day and back to spring like temperatures.

Marsha, I guess you're at your granddaughter's tonight.

Have a very blessed and merry Christmas.

Good afternoon Ladies. Today I worked on the final finish on the microwave cart. I only worked about an hour with 2 hour wait time between each step and that was to let the Polyurethane cure for the next step. Sara and I went to lunch and I completed the last Poly application at 3. Right now I have a pork steak slow cooking on the grill. It will be ready in an hour and a half. Other than treating Sara to dinner I'm relaxing the rest of the day.

Marsh, I had to change plans for the delivery. We have a 70% chance of rain tomorrow and I don't want to take a chance on the rain. The cart will have to be in the bed of my pickup and if it rains I just won't be happy. We're delivering it on Christmas Day. That works for everyone. Other than that trip we'll probably stay home for Christmas. Enjoy your 2 days with family. Irene has been posting the devotional but apparently she isn't up to too much time on the computer. I think of her several times every day.

Have a great day everyone.

Lew, I got tired just reading about your day yesterday. Glad you are going to be able to deliver it Christmas Eve. What a job, and hope the receiver appreciates all the hard wark that you both have done. Glad your day turned out great.

I go to my Granddaughters Christmas Eve, and my Son's Christmas Day.

I cooked the eggs today for deviled eggs, and when I get home tomorrow from the beauty shop I will devil them. Got everything else already.

The sun has been out, then goes back in, and then comes back out. No rain today so far. A little nip in the air. Supposed to be colder Christmas Day.

Hope everyone has a good evening. Don't think much on TV tonight.

Have been kinda relaxing today, I did do some mopping, etc.

Good afternoon Ladies. Yesterday was the busiest day of the week. Josh showed up at 10 and started doing the finish sanding on the Microwave cart. Once he finished it he put the stain on the base, 2 shelves and the top and I would go out on a regular basis to give him moral support and check on his progress. It took 3 hours for him to do all the sanding to our standards While he worked I roasted the chilis and put the Posoli together. Sara made up the things she was making and I finally took a shower at 3. People started showing up at 2 and we ate at 5:30. After dinner we all assembled in the living room and passed out presents. Then we had dessert. It was a great family day. I slept for 10 hours last night. This morning I picked up Josh and we picked up some stuff at Home Depot and stained the bottoms of the 3 flat parts and then put a coat of Polyurethane on the base. After the stain dried we turned the flat parts over and put our first coat of Poly on them and waited 2 hours and put on a second coat. We're waiting for the second coat to dry and then we'll put the final coat on and we'll take Josh home. Tomorrow I'll put the finishing touches on the cart and we'll deliver it on Christmas Eve.

Marsha, I know what you mean about the holidays being over. I enjoy the season but there's so much hustle and bustle that it's nice when we can kick back and relax.

Have a great day everyone.

Lew, you have been busy, and so have I......I was ready to lay down on the couch and rest my back standing wrapping presents. Got them all done but one, and have to pick up something else to put in it hopefullytomorrow.

I personally will be glad when the holidays are over. I hate being out on the road for one thing, and I will be out Christmas Eve, as my Granddaughters hubby is picking me up, then Geo. Jr. will pick me up Christmas Day.

Enjoy your time tomorrow, and I know the food will be delicious. I have to make a couple banana cakes after I get home from church tomorrow. I will make deviled eggs Tues. to take Wed. to Geo. Jr.'s.

Hope everyone has a great evening (what is left of it), and a wonderful tomorrow. GO BUCS (please). :)

Irene posted on Facebook, and she drove today, so she is doing ok. I was worried as we hadn't heard from her.

Good evening Ladies. Today I had 3 things to accomplish and I got them all finished.
This morning I cut up the pork and took the fat off so it's ready for browning and into the Posole tomorrow. I wanted to finish putting the wood together so we could do the finish sanding and stain the table tomorrow. I needed to go pick up some hardware for it at Ace Hardware. This afternoon I finished up the woodwork so it's ready for Josh when he gets here in the morning. Then I came inside and wrapped the last 10 presents. I'm relaxing and watching NFL football right now. Sara fixed me dinner and I'll do the dishes after I rest my back for a while. Tomorrow is the Christmas dinner.at our house.

Marsha, we've both been busy. I got into woodworking seriously when we lived in Missouri - about 20 years ago. I built the tables in our living room and did a lot of other projects. I used to go to the same Church as Josh and his family and while I was there I suggested to the Pastor that he needed a real podium for his church that didn't have a church building. He liked the idea and I built it to his specifications with my design ideas. At Thanksgiving dinner he told me that it has held up to the wear and tear of 10 years of use. Have fun wrapping those gifts.

Have a great day everyone.

Good evening to all. Praying that Irene is OK. Haven't heard anything, or saw anything on her. Please keep her in prayer.

Lew it sounds like you have been a busy beaver. All your running around, and doing wood working. Both of my late Brothers did a lot of wood projects and were really good at it. I have a wall shelf one made, and a quilt holder, floor 3 tier candle holder, etc. They are priceless to me. I have a wooden Christmas Wreath on the front door made out of wood that one made.

Hope everyone has a good evening, and a good night's rest. ai have to get to wrapping gifts tomorrow.

Hugs and prayers to all.

Good afternoon Ladies. I made a run to WalMart and Publix to finish up my grocery shopping for Thursday. I had to go to WalMart because they carry the right kind of Chilis for the Posoli. Then I had to go to Publix because they carry the kind of Coleslaw dressing for a dish that Sara's making. Publix is on the way home from WalMart. Heather and Ethan showed up at 1 PM and I ran down to Sanford to pick up my cell phone. I must have dropped it in the parking lot last night and a Good Samaritan used my phonebook to call a friend to let me know it was a Michaels. One thing I learned about a dumb phone. No one steals it. emoticon After I got home I went out in the garage and worked on Josh's project. I finished what I wanted to do in about an hour. Tomorrow I'll put in a little more time on it and he can start the finishing on Sunday. I'm pushing hard to meet the 25th deadline.

Marsha, it's that time of year where we push ourselves to get everything accomplished. And the we collapse. hehehe

Irene, you are in my prayers dear Lady.

Good evening Ladies. Josh showed up at 10 AM and he and I worked on his Microwave stand project. I kept altering the plan and that slowed us down but we did start assembly. My back started acting up so by 4 PM we called it a day. I'm going to do a little bit tomorrow and Saturday and he'll be out on Sunday. I hope to have it ready for final sanding and stain. If we get the stain on then he can take it home and put the Polyurethane on it. Maybe it will be ready by the 25th. After we took him home Sara and I went out to dinner and the finished up our shopping. I'll have it all wrapped by Sunday.

I hope everyone is doing OK.

Good evening Ladies. Today made a trip to Deland, 20 minutes, to get a supplement for Heather. It helps her digestion and she ran out. After we picked it up we ran down to her place and delivered it. Then we stopped at Sam's Club to pick up stuff for Sunday's Christmas dinner. After we got home I glued up some wood for Josh's current project. He'll be out in the morning to work on it. We're building a Microwave stand for his assistant Pastor's wife. We're going to try to finish it by Christmas Day. It's pretty ambitious but we'll try.

Marsha, you are staying very busy and I understand how tiring it can be. We have avoided the thick fog and didn't have any this morning.

Irene, try to eat even if it's just a small snack every few hours. You need it for strength.

Have a great day everyone.

Good night all. I am tired, and just too tired to do much reading, or typing. Tomorrow is going to be another busy day. Baking, wrapping gifts, cleaning, etc. Thurs I have a follow-up appt with my doctor to check my BP. Hoping it is better, I get mixed readings here at home.

Lew, you really had a good day, and know you enjoyed it even if no bites. It was awful frogging here this morning, took until close to close to burn off.

Going to turn in, so hope everyone has a good night's rest. Irene, I am praying that you get to feeling good. Please eat. You need the strengh.

Good evening Ladies. I went fishing today but we decided not to go early in the morning. It's just too cold to be on the water and the big fish hold up in deep water until the Sun warms up the water on the flats. I picked up Dumont at 10 and we were on the water at 11. The water level was up and we tried several spots but never got a strike. Running down to our second spot we saw a young Bald Eagle chasing an Osprey trying to steal the Osprey's fish that it was holding in it's talons. They osprey outmaneuvered the Eagle. We then fished a large flat where the water is about 18 inches deep. Although we saw several large fish and cast to them we couldn't entice any strikes. As we moved along the West bank we saw a well nourished Raccoon probing the waters edge for lunch. As we got nearer he moved towards us and showed no fear. That led us to believe that bait fishermen have been giving him tidbits and he was looking for a handout. When we didn't feed him he moved along the bank away from us. After 3 hours without any action we headed back to the ramp and came home. It was a beautiful day and the temperature was quite comfortable.

Irene, I know you're feeling poorly but I'm praying for you and wish you a quick return to good health.

Marsha, I suspect that you're worn out from all you did on Sunday.

Good afternoon Ladies. Wow Marsha, you had a very full Sunday. Today we finished our shopping for the whole family and picked up Christmas cards for our Son and his family in Colorado. I went grocery shopping and got most of the stuff for Sunday's Christmas dinner. I'll get my pork and fresh Chilis on Friday. I've been checking over my boat and charging the battery so Dumont and I can go fishing tomorrow. We're going midday because it's too cold in the morning for us old guys to be on the water. It would be nice to find a lot of fish.

Have a great day everyone.

Lew, glad you had a good day with your Grandson Josh. Good medicine for the back it sounds.
I had a busy, busy day also. Geo. Jr. came this mornng at 9:00 and edged the whole yard. I left for church at 10:30 and he was hard at work. Help set up for coffee hour, church, then another lady and myself counted the money and got it ready for deposit. Took a plate of homemade goodies for coffee hour, and then fixed a container for a man that does a lot of volunteer work at the church. Judy had an Elders meeting after coffee hour, I came home after counting the oney, and addressed some more cards.

Then Judy came home and we took off to visit a dear friend of over 30 years in a nursing home, stayed a couple hours with her, then went to visit another dear friend in the hospital that just lost her daughter. She is 93 and going to be moved to a nursing home maybe tomorrow. Then Judy and I left there and went to Family Dollar, then to KFC (which wasn't the healthiest mail, brought it home and we enoyed. Tomorrow is another day. :)

The afternoon turned to be really nice, and of course you know about the BUCS losing again

Hope everyone has a great evening, a good nights rest.

Hugs and prayers to all.

Marsha

Good evening Ladies. I hope you're all doing OK. My Grandson Josh came out today and we did about 5 hours of woodworking. He applied stain to his longboard and the first coat of polyurethane. I sent him hope with the can and tools he needed to finish it. Now he waits for his Christmas presents and that will be his axles and wheels. Then it's finished. We started altering plans for a Microwave cart he's making for a mutual friend. She knows he's making it and I'm going to work hard to get it ready by Christmas Day. That's a tight timeline. We did get some of the wood cut and I hope we can assemble it on Thursday when he comes out again. I don't hurt as much as I did last week after we worked so it's helping my back.

Have a great day everyone.

Good evening Ladies. Today I finished wrapping presents and they are all under the tree. Heather returned from her business trip to Boulder Co. and came out at noon to visit. She picked up Charlie at the boarding facility and brought him with her. She said that as soon as she pulled into our driveway Charlie got very excited. He came in and quickly said hello to Sara and me. Then he settled into his old home. Heather told me that my son, in Colorado, told her he wanted my Posole recipe so I emailed it to him right away. In Colorado he can get all of the ingredients for any Mexican dish so he'll make the recipe his own after trying mine.

Marsha, I'm not the only one getting stuff done. It sounds like you're keeping busy. We really like the level floor in the living room/foyer. By replacing the large coffee table with a smaller one, using a sofa table that was in the room as a TV stand, and setting the recliners backing on the open foyer gives us a lot more open floor space and the room feels bigger.

Have a great day everyone.

Good evening to all. Hope everyone is staying warm and well.

Lew, you got a lot done, and tomorrow I know you will enjoy the woodworking again.
How do you like the raised living area?

I baked some cookies today, will go to church in the morning. Geo. Jr. will be here around 9:00 to pickup Spade. Judy is going to take me to visit this friend that is in a nursing home after church. We will probably stop somewhere and get a little bite to eat.

Hope everyone has a good night's rest. Hugs and prayers to all.

Good evening Ladies. I've been wrapping presents all afternoon and then we went shopping after dinner. I'm tired and my back is sore but I'm feeling good about where our preparations for Christmas are. I should finish the wrapping in the morning and Sunday Josh will be out for some woodworking. I'm slowly acclimating to our winter temperatures and do enjoy the cooler days.

Marsha, the problem with her eyes isn't serious for the time being. It is annoying and can improve or it can get worse. I'm voting for improvement. It's good that you have someone to drive you at night. Sara rarely drives at night now.

Good evening to all. Tired tonight, went to Publix and got groceries, got them unloaded and put away, made a cassarole for supper. Had some for Judy when she got home from work at 9:00. I made cole slaw also.

Going to the funeral tomorrow evening for my friend's daughter. Not looking forward to it,, but feel I need to do this. Judy will pick me up after work, and then we will pick up another member of our church. I told her to use my car as her car has a lot of mileage on it, and she will drive since I don't drive after dark. Viewing is from 5-7 and funeral at 7. We will make it for the funeral. Geo. Jr. and Karen called me tonight. Tomorrow is their 2nd wedding anniversary, and they are in Suvannah, GA. They will be back Saturday.

Want to finish my cards tomorrow, and bake some more cookies.

Hope that nothing serious with Sara's eyes Lew. Will keep her in prayer. Prayers going up for Irene also.

Hugs and prayers to all. Going to turn in as soon as I watch the 10:00 news.

Good evening Ladies. Today I finished our shopping for our oldest daughter and her family. I took Sara in for an eye examination to check on a problem she's been having. The Dr. said he will just monitor it and see if it progresses. I dropped her off and 90 minutes later I was back to pick her up. As I walked into the waiting room she came out of the exam.

Marsha, I checked out that site and added it to my favorites. I usually just do a general search for a specific recipe and after I've read a few decide on the one to try but I can also search this site for recipes that look interesting.

Irene, if you make three meals out of a Cracker Barrel dinner then you probably aren't eating enough. I sure don't have that problem.

Have a great day everyone.

Lew, sounds like you are getting things accomplished. I cleaned house today, tomorrow I need to go to the store. Have some cards to stil do locally. Don't have any gifts wrapped. Have a friend, her daughter, and Son coming either the 19th or 20th. They come each year to exchange gifts, books, and plants. They live in Lutz. We have either hot tea, iced tea, or coffee and dessert when they come. I got to get things together for them.

Yes, it is to be colder here tonight, supposed to be cool all week, but we can't complain. The sun came out today and not much wind so that was good.

Irene, I wish you had someone living with you. I hate to think you are alone and not feeling good.
Please be careful, and call someone if you begin to feel bad.

Hugs and prayers to all.

Good afternoon Ladies. We just back from day two of our Christmas shopping. We are literally shopping until Sara drops and that doesn't take too long. However, we're operating with a list and know where to go to find what we want so our time is used efficiently. And then Sara sees something that strikes her fancy and we deviate from our list a tad. emoticon It's all good. This morning our temperature was in the mid 40s. Tonight it goes down to the high 30s. I'm adapting to the cool weather.

Marsha, That's very thoughtful of you to bake cookies for the man at church. That's something good for him to look forward to. My Publix is also one mile from the house. That's convenient.

Irene, I keep praying that you will get your Ammonia levels down. I know that can be worrisome. I like Cracker Barrel food but their meals can be big.

Have a great day everyone.

Brian called and told me that my ammonia levels were 135. That is what sent me to the hospital the last time and caused the hallucinations. I had been doing BM a lot which is supposed to make the levels go down. As far as I know this is the highest they have been unless they were higher been in the highest. I just hadn't been feeling good

Lew, I am about through with my shopping, mostly what I have left to do is going to be money to the Grand Children, and Great Grandchildren. I took the easy way out this year, I went to Publix and they have a large assortment of Gift Cards, I made a list of names and GC's I wanted to purchase for them, and so easy. :) I like getting GC's as after Christmas you get a lot on sale, and get what you really need, or want.

I got my cards about done, mailed the out of state today, and tomorrow will mail local ones that I have addressed.

Baked cookies tonight again, I will take the man at church Sunday a container of them. He works so hard, does the bulletin as we don't have, and can't afford a Secretary anymore, gets very little thank yous. He always looks forward to my baking goodies. :)

I am going to turn in. Feeling better tonight, hope I sleep good. Need to go to Publix tomorrow sometime. Glad it is only a mile away. :)

Nighty Night to all, Have a good night's rest, stay warm and well.

MY DAY

Last week friends from another church came to bring me water.

Today Brian came over before going hunting and filled my pill boxes and did a bit on my computer.

Today An elder and his wife came from our church and brought me a meal from The Cracker Barrel, enough for 3 meals and wouldn't even charge me.

As soon as they left a man came to draw blood to check my blood the ammonia levels.

Then I ate and took a nap.

When I got up I sat on the edge of the bed and fell back on the bed which I think is what happened to me when I fell in the floor and broke my vertebrae. It is like I fall back real hard.

I have felt bad Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and even today.

So I am Up and down

Irene

Good evening Ladies. We got our Christmas shopping started in earnest today. First we determined what we would order online and I did that just after noon. Then we did a circuit hitting different stores and finished phases one. Tomorrow some sales start at 2 different stores and we'll hit them and be close to finishing our shopping if we find what we're looking for. I plan on getting a haircut before Sara gets up.

Marsha, let me echo Irene's sentiment. I'm delighted that you're feeling better.

Computer's actng up.

Have a great day.

Thanks Irene, I kept busy yesterday and today. Got some peanut butter cookies in the oven. Just feed the dogs, and they are happy campers.

Going to be down in the 40's tonight. Got the heat on low.

Hugs and prayers too all.

finally able to get on line.

wish I could get back to my old PC with Vista - since you can only get the 8 it doesn't work the same. thought the old 7 would work but SP not like before. tried deleting SPprogram and then reinstalling but that isn't helping either.

for ex, - now I am on Letschat - if I want to go to a different team I have to go back to main SP page and click on another team. t all is very annoying.

anyway - or weather hs not been good. yesterday good and was able to do some food shopping today very cold - under 70 - and nasty. so stayed home watching FOX news -

with what is going on these days I am glad I am not younger.

Lew - ignore my comments about food etc. living in this area has definitely affected my opinion on food. down here eating at home is a novelty - I am talking about Century Village. don't think ANYONE COOKS even the Canadians. it is like living in a foreign country trying to figure out where to eat and when shopping trying to figure out if the item is the same as you are use to.

many times thought I would return north but weather conditions and all people I knew not the same.
you all seem to be doing well and living normally. I lived in many areas but believe me living here in Century and shopping here plus people from all over US and other countries is a learning experience.

even the people from NY come from NYC areas I never even heard or knew when I lived there -

oh well - I think I am getting tired - need A CUP OF TEA.

take care everyone. will turn on TV and see if anything has changed and then figure out what to have for dinner.

JO - must figure out where to place PC - kitchen table not good. affects the typing too level and high

Just checking in. Got a perm this morning, went to PO, got 2 pkgs in the mail. Mixed up a peanut butter cookie recipe and put in frig. Will bake later. I am doing better, Judy came downstairs yesterday evening, and we had a cup of hot chocolate, and a cookie and visited, and felt better. I have to stop worrying so much. Easy to say I know. I never will get the blood pressure down if I don't practice it.

Hope everyone had a great day so far. The peanut butter cookie recipe is so good, and easy only 3 ingredients. No flour. :)

I will try to post more later.

Hope everyone has a great rest of the day, and miss you all.

Just wanted to say that I won't be online for a few days. My dear friend's daughter passed away, and Lew is in the hospital with pnemonia, and will be transferred to a nursing home probably tues or wed. It just makes me too nervous to be online. I know that Pam was in no condition to live. We never know when the Good Lord will call us home, so it is so important to be ready. Anyone that wants to write me can at mbashline31@aol.com I will check email off and on as I have family up North, and my Sister - in - Law was just moved from her house to a nursing home yesterday. Have a lot on my mind.

Hugs and prayers to all.

Lew, sorry that you woke up with chest pains. That is scary. I have used the coke also to break up an air bubble. I had a boss when working, and he thought he was having a heart attack. I went and got a coke and told him to drink it down fast what he could. He purped, and no pain. He was so thankful I knew to do that. Of course if you don't get relief, take an asprin and go to the emergency room.

I haven't felt too swift today. I did get to church, and to the ladies luncheon, but came home and stomach was upset. Better now. Glad you felt like doing the woodwork as I know he would have been disappointed.

Hope everyone has a good night's rest. I am going to turn in shortly. I never bothered to watch the game, I turned it on when I got home, and saw the score and said forget it. Hoping next year will be better. My late DH's Seminoles pulled theirs off.

Good evening Ladies. We had a cold front go through this afternoon early and it's chilly and misting rain. I awoke at 5:30 AM with chest pains and got dressed and drank part of a Diet Coke. That got the gas bubbles moving and my pain was gone in 15 minutes. I stayed up and ate breakfast and then laid down in the guest room. After what seemed like a short time I heard voices and got out of bed. Laura and arrived at 9:30 bringing Josh out for woodworking. I couldn't believe I slept that long. Josh and I worked for 7 hours and I was standing most of the time. My back is a little sore but I need to push myself more and this helped. Josh almost finished 2 projects and took them home with some of my tools to finish them. Because of the leftover wood he chose I had the opportunity to teach him some neat tricks with the table saw and 2 different ways of joining wood. It was a great day and the time flew by.

Irene, hope you get to feeling better. Sometimes rest is the only cure.

Marsha, I didn't watch football today but I did see the scores this evening. Next year for both of our teams.

Good evening Ladies. Sara and I just got home from my fishing club's Christmas party. I haven't been to a club function in over a year and it was great seeing old friends. Dinner was a buffet and the food was really good. I ate too much but I don't feel stuffed. We left early because my back was giving me problems. Heather came over at noon and visited with us about 3 hours. Tomorrow morning our daughter Laura is bringing our grandson Josh out so he and I can do some woodworking.

Irene, I read your blog and glad to hear you got your computer back. Hope you get your Ammonia levels down.

Marsha, I had no idea your blood pressure was that high but it's good that it's coming down. I admire you for being a pet sitter. I did too much of that for the last 6 years and now Heather puts Charlie in a kennel he loves. Sara is not trying Gluten free but I can work around that.

Have a great day everyone.

I got up at 10:30 this morning and didn't feel well (negative). I had the nurse coming and a hair appointment but decided to cancel the hair and it is a good thing I did as I wouldn't have had time. When I have too much to do I don't take my medication as I should to keep my ammonia levels down so decided I am not going to go to church tomorrow so I can get back where I should be.

I wrote a blog about my computer, home phone and TV yesterday and also reported on the doctor's visit and what the outcome was.

Good evening and Lew, it has been an overcast here also. I have the AC going. I like the bedroom cool even in cool weather. There was a time when you could leave your windows open, but not anymore.

I went and got my other injection, and BP checked and it was down to 143. Better than 170 something. Then I walked over to the chiropractor to get my leverlizers they are called. She scanned my feet, and they are personally made from that. I could only wear for 3 hours today, and increase the time by one hour each day until I am wearing them all day. I went to Publix and walked around and felt like I had good support in my flat arches. Hope they work out. I have to go back to the doctor in 2 months for another checkup. I am to take my blood pressure at home both morning and night and take in when I see the doctor.

I will be pet sitting next week with Spade, Geo. Jr. and Karen are going on an Anniversary trip for almost a week. They were married on 12/12/12, 2 years ago.

Nice to have Judy here in the house with me, she is gone a lot with working, and doing errands for older people, and her church work.

Glad that you are catching right on the Gluten Free way of eating. Is Sara getting into it any better?

Going to turn in early, want to address some Christmas cards tomorrow, as I am beginning to receive them, and also wrap some gifts. Bought two more today at Publix. Gift Cards. :) they sure have an assortment, and makes it so easy.

Hope everyone has a good night's rest. Glad that everyone has their computer, electric, etc. up and running.

Good evening Ladies. We had another comfortable day but it was overcast all day. I kept thinking it would rain but it never did. Heather was going to go to a concert in St. Petersburg after a midday visit but her back was hurting so much she cancelled the trip and stayed with us all afternoon. I picked up Ethan from school and brought him to our house. I fired up the grill and slow cooked Bratwurst and did some baked French fries. Add in some Applesauce and we had a Gluten free dinner. Heather went home and Ethan is spending the night and tomorrow. His Dad will pick him up tomorrow at 5 and Ethan will spend a week with him. Heather leaves Sunday for a business trip to Boulder Colorado.

Marsha, I'm trying to get back up to Hope you get some rest.

Jo, I have a couple of kids and a little sister who are Gluten free experts. I don't have a problem figuring that out. Telling me I don't need a slow cooker book is like Sara telling to just put a little of this and a little of that in a dish I'm preparing. I always start with a cookbook and then once I figure it out I start to freelance.

Have a great day everyone.

well I read quickly all the posts.

from what I read, you all sem to be doing better thsn me.

still having triouble walking. in fact not doing well at all. driving is OK but the walking not good. people have been wonderful. srangers, very helpful. thinking about hiring getting someone at home except at home I do OK it is having to go out to stores etc. well so much not good for me and you all have your own problems just wish I did not outlive everybody - being alone is the pits.

this time of year not happy times. I lost all my loved ones from Thanksgiving to mid Jan.

well enough of my troublrs too much anyway.

Lew - just want to say, youn don't need a book for slow cooker. I use one since they first came out. everything you do you can use the slow cooker except for frying of course but you can do that too and then slow cooker tocomplete meal.

also, SP and google slow cooker meals and you will get many also just adjust your meal times. I still use mine and since way back I think more than 30 years. they were great when I was working. put on low and meal ready when I got home from work.

Lew - also check out WebMD and Mayo - I believe I read they had alternatives for gluten.

Thank GOD my health is good it is the little things to continue to take care of myself that I have trouble with.

such as trying to get my car serviced. turns out the garage I used recently closed.

if I could walk better it would help. must use walker and when necessary cane but not too well with it.

getting late so willclose.

hope all are feeling better - from what you all write about your food problems I consider myself fortunate in that since childhood I always liked veggies, plain just herbs no salt etc.

when people tell me I look good I reply 'it is my life style.' I use to walk a mile at lunchtime to get to a restaurant that served plain veggies.

will end this. happy PC is working - this is the first time I got on it and it was repaired 2 days ago. thankfully repairman is good so I think all will be well.

take care

JO

FINALLY - THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO USE PC.

short info installand then will try to catch up.

DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING I LOST THE INTERNET.

due to holiday week I had to wait 6 days for Comcast to come and reinstall internet.

what a job he had to do. as I had complained when Century did all the changes to wiring, Comcast repair men did not know how to install the equipment. had many problems at that time.

I LUCKED OUT WITH THIS REPAIR MAN -HE HAD TO INSTALL ALL NEW EQUIPMENT.

he really was good and did a great job. I tested everything before he left. he came at 5:30 pm and 2 hours later I was back in business.

think I was lucky as the Canadians are coming back and busygetting their TV and whatever reinstalled.

wonder what I will be charged for the repair but it is worth it as he knew just what to do and I have all new connection equipment.

will try to read some posts and it is about dinner time so will hopefully get back on at least tomorrow.

our weather not good and I have other problems such as car so this old lady is trying to stay calm and well.

talk later - hope all have been well. did not have any phone numbers so could not let you all nknow that I was still alive.

JO

Good evening Ladies. This morning I took Sara in for here eye check. While she was in there I made a quick run to Walmart to get a few things. That only took 20 minutes and I had time to have the technician adjust the earpiece on my new eyeglasses. This time seems to have finally gotten it right - it's not bothering my ear. I laid down this afternoon as I'm still under the weather. Tomorrow afternoon I'll pick up Ethan from middle school and he'll spend Friday night and Saturday with us. This was his choice and we feel good about it.

Marsha, I wear a cheap support in my left shoe but I remember how much inserts cost when our Son need them.

Lew, sorry you had a reaction to the flu shot. I get one every year, and never have. (going to knock on wood). My late dear husband got sick one time, and refused them after that.

I go back tomorrow for another injection, and then to the chiropractor for my shoe insoles that came in. Hope they work. :) at the price I had to pay.

Just kinda taking it easy today, did go up to Family Dollar to get a few things. Always try to rest after getting an injection. It seems to have helped, and hope it continues.

Hope everyone has a great evening. Thanks Irene for your postings, and do enjoy.

Good evening Ladies. I got my Flu shot earlier this week and finally figured out that it is affecting me like it does every year. I finally figured out why I've been feeling poorly. It should pass soon. I did managed to get the empty Christmas decoration boxes back in the attic. Tomorrow I'll put them on the shelves I built up there. Our weather has been beautiful. We had a few small showers yesterday but nothing today.

Marsha, I Googled Chrismons and our daughter Laura decorates their tree with those. I didn't know they had a special name.

Irene, "On Your Knees" is super. I didn't know about that small Cathedral.

Have a great day everyone.

Just wanted to say good night, and praying that everyone will have a good night's rest. Our family doesn't make Christmas commericallized. We try to remember the true meaning of Christmas. When you get a change search for Chrismons and it will explain our Church Christmas tree.

Nighty night. May God bless each and every one of you.

LEW when we get older and in my case have no children and no grandchildren things change.
When I was a kid mom had 50 cents to spend for 5 kids and the church candy which I wouldn't want now, the peanuts and an orange were a real treat.
Take care of you.

Good evening Ladies. I didn't do a lot today. I think I've finished with the Christmas decorations are complete. The cable guy came out this afternoon to put a cable outlet in the living room behind where the TV is now sitting. After he left I laid down for an hour and I felt better when I got up.

Irene, I decorate because that's what Sara wants. I also hate the commercialism of Christmas but I have never been able to get that across to my family. They don't see it as a bad thing but I do. OK, I've vented. I like today's word.

Marsha, I know what you mean about unpacking the Christmas decorations. In my case it's positive memories because many of our ornaments have pictures of Grandkids in them. It's funny to look at the picture of a young teen and realize he's now a college grad, married, and expecting his first child. He sure has changed.

Have a great day everyone.

Remain in Him

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
(John 15:7, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

In life, we all have ups and downs. This time of year can be especially trying for some. There are seasons that are more difficult when our character is being developed and our faith in God is being strengthened. Sometimes it can feel like you are taking two steps forward and three steps backward. If we’re not careful, we’ll start thinking that life is always going to be this way.

God doesn’t want us to live life like a roller coaster. He wants to bring us to a place of stability so we can remain strong in Him. Jesus said, “I am the vine. You are the branches. If you abide in me, you will bear much fruit and your fruit will remain.” The word “remain” means “to be fixed, immovable, not affected by circumstances.” In other words, if you will just keep abiding in Him, just keep meditating on His Word, He’ll bring you through. He’ll make you strong; He’ll keep you stable, and you’ll embrace the life of blessing He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, today I set my heart and mind on You knowing that You are good and faithful. I trust that as I seek You and put You first, You will direct my steps. I choose to remain in You and follow Your leading in everything I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.

— Joel & Victoria Osteen

Lew, sounds like you have got it just about wrapped up for Christmas. This is my favorite time of the year. It is hard in some ways because my Mother passed on the week before Christmas, but I know she would want me to not associate that with Christmas. It is hard without loved ones, and when I unpacked the trees, and ornaments so much reminding me what Brooks used to do. I know he too wants it to be a happy time for family and all. I know I would, and will.

Sorry Sara is having problems with her eye, hope it isn't anything serious. Keep us posted.

Have a good night's rest everyone.

Good evening Ladies. I'm enjoying Autumn and still wearing shorts and a Polo shirt during the day. I did a little work in the yard, and finished the outdoor decorations. This afternoon I decorated the tree and got most of the stuff in place inside the house. It's looking rather festive around here. Tomorrow I'll be putting the empty boxes back in the attic and climbing in and out of the attic will wear me out. Sara is having trouble with her left eye and I'll be taking her in to get it checked on Thursday.

Marsha, sorry to hear about your friend. I know it's weighing heavily on our mind. Good luck finding her.

Irene, we were all concerned about Mani and at least now we know what has happened. All we can do is keep her in our prayers.

Have a great day everyone.

Ok I found it all Marsha and will go to Mani's page. I did not post yesterday. As You see I slept most of the day and went to church. I had asked someone from the family to please write if she couldn't so they did. I am so glad they did.

Lew I had a lot of pain today and was so sleep tonight and went to bed to bed tonight at 8:00 just got up. I had slept afternoon for several hours also. I don't eat right either as I don't feel like standing up and cooking and have no appetite and no hunger. I don't do much either.
I am anxious to see what Marsha says about Mani. I have written so many times.

Lew, no problem on Mani, I have been so concerned about her. I just got a phone call that a dear friend (the one I drive to the doctors that is 93) had a stroke today. Trying to find out what hospital she is in We just never know.

I am going to try to get some rest, as if I find out where she is I will go visit her either before, or after I go to the chiropractor.

Good night to all.

Good evening Ladies. It was another beautiful day and the temp got up in the high 70s today. My younger neighbor helped me get the artificial Christmas tree out of the attic and then this afternoon my SIL and grandson came out to put up the outside lights for me. I'll put up the tree tomorrow in the daylight and finish the decorations for the house. Heather and Ethan stopped my for a short visit and everyone really likes the new living room arrangement, carpet, and raised floor.

Marsha, thanks for the information on Mani. I will keep her in my prayers. Hope you sleep better tonight.

Irene, you have a lot of healing to do before you get too feisty. emoticon It's amazing to me that you accomplish what you do.

Have a great day everyone.

I went in to Mani's Spark page, but I am coping and pasting it as I know you all have been as concerned about her as I have been.

Sunday, November 30, 2014

Dear friends of Ammamma,

This is Anitha her Grand Daughter. Just to give you all a heads up, Ammamma had a Cardiac arrest on the 11th of October, after which we had to do an emergency bypass surgery for her. She is recuperating well but at 87 it will take a while till she gets back to her old self.

She has been remembering all of you a helluva lot and remembers all your names...Callie, Nora, Dot, Irene, Pat, Marsha....the list is endless.

I am the culprit for not informing you'll earlier....

Appappan too is fine, but his dementia has worsened, ever since Ammamma went into hospital. He hates to see her confined to the bed & the wheel chair. She would have loved to write to all of you but her essential tremors have gotten worse so she is unable to type.

Please keep Ammamma in your prayers for her to get back to her normal self.

She sends her hugs, prayers & blessings to all of you.

PS: I spent my entire Sunday reading all your notes to her....Needless to say I am touched as much as she is.

Lew, glad you are happy with the new living room, and will be so nice for Christmas. No, I didn't make the banana bread today, maybe tomorrow. I didn't sleep well last night, woke up at 3:30 wide awake, couldn't go back to sleep so got up at 5:30, and been going all day. Judy came down for a visit, always look forward to our time together. She is busy working part-time at the Library, and drives some elderly people that don't drive to doctor appts, groceries, etc.

Wish that Sara lived closer and she sure could have some banana bread when I bake.:)

Hope everyone has a good evening, not much on TV tonight. Hope the BUCS do better tomorrow. Geo. Jr. is taking his one Granddaughter. She is 10 and loves sports, really a good pitcher on a team here.
