Today was such a contrast to yesterday .Hot and sunny I'm sure it was about 88 F.

Thanks Mel, we're quite safe so far.We do have earth tremors in the dry season which last just a few seconds though.

My computer is working like a dream this evening.I'm so pleased.

My class is conducting Service at church this Sunday and I've completed preparing the order of Service as I'm the Leader.

Mel ------Hope your granddaughter has a safe delivery. It brings out the midwife in me when I hear about a pregnancy. Imagine some of the babies I have delivered now have their own babies!.That's life!

Have a blessed weekend everyone!
Much Love,
Roz.

Roz, Glad to hear you don't usually get the full brunt of the storms. They are really talking about Hurricane Matthew today and it does sound rather ominous. Stay safe!

This morning Katie the gardener comes to give us some outdoor help. I need to make my list for her. There's so much that need doing. Also, Ashley, a granddaughter comes on Fridays and does three hours of cleaning for us indoors. Her baby is due October 12 and we told her to do only what she feels like doing. They have a little girl and this one is a girl also. Ashley and her husband both have jobs but still struggle to make ends meet. Ashley will go back to work at her job after a few weeks at home with the baby, as I understand it. Not sure what the child care arrangements will be but her husband's mother may help some. Wish we could help more but really I am beyond that stage of life. Have done a lot of it in prior years, but at 75 it is just too much.

Happy weekend, Mel

Kayne----------Glad you are out of that slump and for. quite. a long time too.

Mel----------Going vegan could be quite challenging indeed.I have two siblings and a sil who are vegans but they eat fish.
Yes the sea is quite warm and usually calm but with the various storms in nearby areas it was very rough yesterday .
.
We are usually not directly affected by the storms but we get the rains and flash flooding in some areas.

Karen----------Ican only imagine the joy seeing that photo brought to that lady. That was such a kind gesture on your part that's what life is about.

My desk top seems to be giving up on me so have to resort to tablet which I' m not as comfortable with.
Have a blessed evening everyone !

Karen, The Amy's mac n cheese I picked up at the little store down the street was in a box similar in size to the standard Kraft Mac and Cheese. The advantage was supposed to be that it has no bad for you stuff added to it and it is made with real cheddar. It also calls for only two tablespoons of butter instead of a quarter cup (which is three Tbs. I think) I think I could have boiled the macaroni just a little longer but otherwise it was pretty O.K. Turned out the great grandaughter opted to spend the night at home so DH and I ate the mac n cheese and chile con carne ourselves. Harrumph!

Waving to everyone else,
Mel

Mel.. I do not usually read political books but Armageddon is very interesting & much easier to read than I thought it would be.

The resident was really happy with picture of her brother. He had eye surgery so doesn't wear glasses that was a big change. She hadn't seen him for about 30 years.

You mentioned Amy's Mac & cheese? Is that the frozen product? I have tried several of Amy's products available in Ohio & really like them.

Karen, how are you liking the book, Armageddon by now? I kinda hate it when I am pressed with a library due date and sometimes I just have to give up on the book. Sounds like you are having a busy interesting day. How did yr resident like seeing the photo? I would think she would feel a lot of things.

Roz, Is your sea water fairly warm? Good for you swimming and getting some walk time in.

Marsha, How are things going with you today?

Kayne, if you are reading, could you tell us (or me, anyway) how long you had envisioned the About Me exercise to continue? It'd be helpful to me to have a finish date to it, rather than keep going on indefinitely. I have been thinking about you and hope you are coming out of the slump. emoticon

I am working on my transition to Veganism, or Plant-Based eating. It is a challenge for sure.
Great Grand daughter 12 is coming for the night. Just making chile with crackers and Amy's real cheddar mac and cheese which I hope is better for her than Kraft Mac'nCheese. Should make the real home made but don't want to drive to the market for ingredients.

Mel

Slept late again so will need to head out to pick up my GGS from bus stop soon. I need to pick up some movies at the library & then plan to visit the nursing home. Time to do the on line training again. I also have copy of picture to share with a resident. She has not seen her brother for many years. He lives in Florida & she is in Ohio. I found a FB picture of him so will surprise her with it

Have a good day!

Marsha... I am so sorry you are not feeling well & did not make it to church.

I went to my daughters last night & we watched the debate together. It was more fun that way.

I need to get off & read before I call it a day. I checked the book ARMAGEDAN from the library & it is due back Saturday. There are many others wanting to read it so I cannot renew it.

Good night

Hello Classies! It is another beautiful sunny morning in northern California. Yesterday was hot all day and into the evening and I think this may repeat today. Yesterday I had my physical therapy on left arm for an hour. It wears me out so I skipped my walk afterward. I had to pick up supper things and then prep supper. Made a tasty zucchini casserole for supper and we also ate leftovers and baked potatoes. We ate supper on the sofa while watching the first U.S. presidential debate of the US 2016 election cycle. Eldest daughter dropped in for a visit and ate with us and watched the debate too. She rarely drops by so we were pleased to spend time with her.

This evening the family celebrates the birthday of daughter number two who turns 52. We'll gather at our local ice-cream parlor for the festivities. I don't suppose she is very excited about turning 52 but is gracious to allow us all to have a little family party for the occasion.

My most important goal today is to get a good long walk done with little Rokki dog. I walked 3 and a half miles Sunday and want to improve on that. Trying to build up to five miles a day but I am a slow walker at 30 minutes per mile.

Peace be with all the Classy 70s today! Mel

ps: I am adding to Kayle's About Me exercise each day. Hope other will keep adding also. It's kinda fun and I like reading all of them.

I didn't get to church yesterday, and my week will be way off. Haven't felt too good, and haven't been on the computer that much.

Hope everyone has a great day, I guess everyone will be tuned in to the Debate tonight.

Until later, have a great day and every.

Marsha

Had a good weekend.

Only three of us were able to come for dinner on Friday but we had a great time just yakking away.

Had a problem with the tshirt the church bought us greeters. It was too small. Fortunately my friend found the last extra large and it fit. Apparently the shirts came in extremely small. It was our church's 15th anniversary in our city and we had a great service on outreach followed by cake in the lobby. Exciting things are happening for us. We have been meeting in a school but are in the process of getting our own building. We take possession in December and the renovations should start shortly after that. We hope to have everything completed before next September.

DH got home from his weekend away with the guys and our niece gave birth yesterday morning to a beautiful 8 lb 14 oz baby girl who they named Samantha Lynn. Mom and baby are both doing well.

Getting ready for my TOPS meeting this morning. Not sure that my weight is down though.

Have a great Monday.

Hey folks! I have spent some time and got caught up to date with our All About Me project. I plan to keep it going but I don't know what the ending date is set for. I will go look at the directions again and see what I can discover.

I hope some of the rest of you will join me in carrying on with this interesting exercise that was started by one of our leaders. Good Heavens, I have temporarily let her name slip my memory! So sorry about that.

mel
PS: Well, I found her way down the thread a 9-14-16 and of course her name is Kayne. Now what could have happened to Kayne? She went to a lot of trouble to figure out how to do the team leadership work and started that fun thing for us and then fell off the thread somehow. Maybe more computer issues caught up with her. Hope she can get back here once again.

Insomnia------Have been dealing with this for quite sometime--My problem is if I have a nap in the day I sleep for hours,or if I don't have a nap by 6pm ! cannot keep awake and would sleep soundly for at least 4 hours..
On Friday evening I went out and washed the car at 630pm so that I would not feel sleepy,but then I went to bed at 2.00am. so I slept for long periods on Saturday so now I'm up until;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
Have a great Sunday everyone!

Not sure where those night of insomnia come from but another one got me last night.

We are going to have a week of temps getting up to the 70's. Looking forward to it.

Think I will get a shower & try for a walk today.

I watched a movie last night. MIDNIGHT IN PARIS. It was good. I have checked out 2 others from the library. ALBERT NOBBS & DESCENDANTS. The War Room is at a local church tonight. I have it on my calendar so hope I go see it.

Enjoy your weekend.

Joyce-------Have a good rest and a good weekend too.

The battery in my pedometer died about ten days ago, so I'm missing out on recording all the walking I have been doing whilst running errands this past week.Even though I'm not doing any extra exercises I am doing a lot of walking.
I need to start back swimming soon..

Bought a new microwave this morning. The old one was about 10+ years old!!!
Much love,
Roz.

Am up early today but will head back to bed for a nap once DH leaves. Since he retired he has been working part time at a golf course, cutting fairways and rough. Once he is finished today, he has a two hour drive to Pigeon Lake where he will meet up with our son, his two brothers and a nephew for a guys golfing and card playing weekend. Once a year the guys get together without the girls and children just for some fun. Hubby is hoping not to golf as his back gets sore but will enjoy his time with the men.

It is 5.30 and he is getting ready to head out. Hope you have a great day.

Interesting weekend coming up. Since our anniversary is tomorrow and my DH will be away, we went out for dinner on Tuesday. Not good for my weight as we went to the Mandarin.

Yesterday we had a playdate with my DGS and the daughter of our Pastor and his wife. Both kids are three. My grandson gave her a huge hug and then they played really well together. We baked cookies and they each decorated some to take home, then the colouring books came out and then some outside play. We had lunch and then Emma's mom picked her up. By the end of the morning Emma was also calling me Grandma. It was so sweet. My grandson spent the rest of the day with me and his parents came over for awhile when the oldest was out of school. Great day but exhausting.

Tomorrow I have invited the ladies from our small group at church for dinner but not sure how many will make it. It looks like there may only be four of us but it will still be nice to have a girls night. I am the oldest and the others are in their late 30s to 60. It will be good company with Bill being away.

Have a wonderful day and a great weekend if I don't get back for a day or two.

Jane... I have never heard the song you mentioned.
How nice that your grandson is to be in the HS Hall of Fame.

I had a funeral this morning. Getting a massage here shortly & then going to nursing home to share words to a song that was part of the funeral service. It was written & sung by a blind lady & I think it is called The First Person I see will be Jesus.

Another hot day in Ohio. 10 degrees above normal temps.

I have Nat King Cole's Christmas Album. There are some beautiful songs on there. My favorite is A cradle in Bethlehem and I have never heard any other Artist sing it.

Sat evening our Grandson will be inducted into the H.S. all Athletics Hall of Fame. He did well in basketball and baseball. I wish Hubby could go since he went to more of Danny's games than I did. But he has to have professionals care for his transportation, etc.. That would be financially prohibitive.

Had a beautiful weekend as both my daughters and their families were here to celebrate my 72nd birthday.!!
It was lovely having all three grand girls here and they had so much fun playing with each other despite the difference in ages..
We all attended church and it was so great hearing their lovely singing voices.
I'm sure their dear deceased dad was there in spirit smiling down at us.
So thankful for life!
Have a good night everyone !
Much love,
Roz.

I'm so excited about today. So, today my Craft of Choice is KNITTING.

I am meeting a good friend at 2 pm for a late lunch at a knitting shop called Ewe & I. Yes, the knitting shop has a cafe inside with soup of the dy and a biscuit for $3.50. I love the picture of you and your DH. Today didn't go at all as planned. I got some work done on the looms, a friend got the shellac off the floor (my husband had tipped over a whole can of shellac on the floor and it dried on). Did you know alcohol (we used rubbing alcohol) will dissolve shellac? It didn't hurt the wood floor, either!

Patti, I am still going through my DH's tools. my Son has several that he wants as some were my Dad's as he was a mechanic. It is so many things that you have a hard time seperating with. My DH collected Eagles, and we have given so many away, and family members have take some, and I still have a china cabinet full.

Just take your time. I am headed to bed. Still not feeling up to par. Hope a good night's rest will help.

Another big day for me. I went to exercise with a friend and found out her Housemate was a Handyman. He came over on his bike an looked at all my tools, helping me separate out the ones I should keep and the ones to give first pick of to Ed's son. I'm SO VERY glad that is DONE.

Then my daughter came over and helped me get through more stuff. Getting there. Getting there...

Went into town again today, to visit my cousin who has been hospitalised for the past 16 months , he is recovering from being burnt in a house fire. Ha has one leg amputated and has about 50% function in his left leg but he is in good spirits and is doing fine..

Now that school has reopened I'm back to baby sitting the older granddaughters once a week from next week.

I got my hair cut today and also paid for my friend to get hers cut. It was way down her back and was giving her headaches.. My dear friend and stylist gave her a cut that took years off her looks. She was SO pleased.

Yesterday, I did not do much of anything. We moved into this house 3 years ago, and the basement is only partially finished. It lacks doors, window frames and a ceiling. The floor is terrible. They fastened the linoleum squares directly to the concrete floor, and they are all loose, or getting loose. As a result of this, when we moved in, we just dumped tubs and boxes all over the basement floor, and left a walk way in between everything. I did set up a little area down there with some organization for my crafting area. At that time I was a demonstrator for Stampin' Up, and I need the space ready for my various meetings. I've given that up now, so that are is really not what it should be anymore. Late last week, I went to look for something which I couldn't find, and ended up sorting some of the junk out down there out and stacking things more. It created a lot of space. I started thinking about where to put it all, and found a nice little cabinet on line, with doors, that I can put together myself, and can store some of the stuff in it. It came in yesterday. I plan on buying more of them and lining them up against a wall and using that for storage. It will all be easier to find, and it will look at least half way presentable. I also bought a caddy that is used for filing cabinets that will fit the cabinets and I'll get more of them so the cabinets can be easily moved. I'm not sure what I'll do about the floor yet. I may just buy some glue and fasten the tiles back down again for now. I know they will let loose again, but it may last for a couple of years. Some I will have to replace, but I will probably just go with a plain tile in a color that matches what is down there. At least I will be able to sweep and vacuum down there occasionally

More later.
Kayne

A lot of work ahead, but I'll keep you posted.

Big day. A doctor's appointment. Everything was fine. Got to have a colonoscopy, my last because of my age. Blood pressure was normal (due to losing the weight),

Waiting for the next appointment I got in a 40 minute walk. That was a big bonus!

Then an appointment with my counselor, the first since my husband died. She suggested I make an appointment with her once a month for a year. I don't mind; I like seeing her. I also found out the Air Force Clinic I go to has a special group holistic healthy living. I signed up for it. We made an appointment for one of the days I'll be coming to that.

Then home for a quick lunch and then to the Needlework Group. One of the new gals told me her husband had died 5 months ago. Another gal came over to see what we were doing, and she confided to us that HER husband died only two weeks before mine did. I invited her to go with me Thursday to the weekly Grief Group. I guess I was supposed to be there.

The weather was so mild today that my cat and I stared the area with a glider that I call my sanctuary. So nice to relax and knit in the quiet. Life is good.

Good morning Everyone,
Went to renew my driver's permit yesterday.
As a senior person you are required to have a medical before it is renewed.
My BP was slightly elevated but attested that to trying to get an available park.
Anyway I did get it and it is for free for seniors, and it is valid for 2 years.
Went to bed at 2AM because I had a nap between 9& 10 pm (not by choice!!) anyway I slept until 9AM.Rainy & overcast here today.
Have a good day all !
Roz.

Good afternoon. We had a great visit with BIL and SIL over the weekend. Ended up serving a roast of beef and fortunately it turned out nice and tender.

My daughter's family are still fighting some kind of an illness off. But I think they are slowly on the mend. DS and DGD dropped over Saturday for a quick visit so that was really nice. The kids grow up so quickly and our BIL hadn't seen her for awhile. He was amazed by the difference in her. At 14 she is now a young lady .

Loved our sermon at church yesterday morning. It was all about God's love and how we need to follow his example. Our church has purchased a building of our own but we don't get to move in until next September. Apparently the building is in an area where there are many homeless people who are struggling. It is hoped that as a church we may be able to reach out to them. Not sure what they need yet but I know the elders are looking to see what we can provide.

Was at TOPS this morning and I am back down 1.75 lbs. Still a long way to go but at least it is slowly going in the right direction.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good to see you are all enjoying each other. Somehow I haven't been getting the emails from this Team. I was, and then I wasn't...I didn;t do anything different. Anyway, it's good to be with you all.

I did the 5% Challenge last winter and it was fun. A lot of accountability, though, as I had to track different goals daily and watch what everyone else was doing besides me. It's just too much for me at this time...but when I hit my stride, I'll probably do another.

I'm really into knitting these days. I'm knitting a sheep (about 13 inches high, I think), gonna start some socks, and am working up to designing my first do-it-yourself sweater. Oh, yes, and I'm going to knit "A Week in the Life of a Knitter's Cat" (7 scarves) in honor of my cat Sweetheart.

Good Evening Everyone,
This week has flown by so quickly,.I was able to be with all three of my grands as i've been babysitting with both daughters these past two evenings.

On my way home this afternoon, the maxi--taxi I was travelling in had a flat tire,
then because of roadworks in another area we had to make a diversion and just as
we were on the main road again the vehicle shut down

Another woman and myself got a lift to our destination and I was so glad to be home again.

Looking forward to next weekend when both daughters and their families will be at my home.

Thankful for family indeed.!

Have a blessed night(or whatever time of day you see this)
Roz.

I am finally feeling less pain today & thankful for meds that help.

I got a call from utility office yesterday. They had to reread my electric usage after I complained that it was 3 times higher than previous month. It went from $270 to $135 so I am happy I complained. They have no idea where the first reading came from.

Sister & I plan to visit our Uncle Larry tomorrow. He is in a memory care unit in a nursing home about 75 miles from us. We try to visit him several times a year. He did remember us the last time & was still mobile. I think he is 79 years old & my mothers baby brother. He visited mom often when she was bed fast at my home. ALZ is a dreaded disease.

Good morning everyone. Today it is raining here in Barrie. Our grandson was supposed to start JK this morning but he has been sick all week so I don't know if he actually got to school or not.

We have a BIL and SIL coming for the weekend and are bringing their German Shepherd with them. Still trying to figure out what to serve for dinner. Our kids and their families might drop in as well for a visit with them so I am not sure how many we will end up with for dinner. Makes it hard to plan.

Also have to make up an evite for October. My Mother will be 95 and we are going to host an Open House at a nearby church for her. Hopefully a lot of people she knows will come. One problem is that at her age she has already lost most of her close friends.

Hope everyone has a great day. Joyce

Good morning!

Mel, I got an invitation to join a challenge team too but it involves so much, I know I wouldn't put the time into it. No idea which one you got invited to but boy, they sure can take up your time. As for being leader of a team, it does require that the leader show up on the threads and posts daily. A lot of responsibility and not very rewarding when you get a team that hardly responds. But, it's good to try. I lead several right now and have made most of the teams I lead too. I even started the Happy Healthy Sparker team, a couple of years ago, led till I couldn't anymore and gave up the leadership but I'm still a member.

Roz, so good that you have family come to visit and to stay for a while like yours does.

Another hot and humid day here, I am so tired of this weather and really look forward to the cooler days of Autumn!

Good morning, Everyone. I hope that you will enjoy the new challenge coming up next week. Iím looking forward to it myself.

Iím glad that you are having so much fun with Keneisha, Roz. Little ones give you a lot of exercise, even if you are not aware of it much. I love her name by the way. I had a friend years ago who had a little girl called Nyíree. I loved that name, too. Some of the new names that people are coming up with are so lyrical. Iím also very pleased to hear that she is making noticeable improvement. Yes, God is indeed great.

Mel, no problem about answering the question. It was my pleasure. Iím enjoying it, and will eventually create a team or two of my own. More about that at a later date. I have to get into the swing of things first.

Thanks also to everyone who responded to my email about the new challenge. Iím writing the outline for it now. That will be posted on Monday, then on Tuesday it will actually start. I think it will be interesting.

Have a great day, everyone!
Kayne

Have not been up to much but having fun with Keneisha who is enjoying her little vacation with grandmom. She sends kisses to her sister and parents on the phone,At least I did get some steps in running after her,and yesterday we had fun playing ball.outside but didn't today as it rained .
Since having stem cells therapy a year ago, I can see a great increase in her attention span and
in her ability to respond much quicker to simple commands.God is so good.!

Kayne, Thanks for the response to my question, Kayne. Team leader may not be difficult but it really is important in keeping a supportive groups together. Thank you muchly for your efforts!

Sounds like you got a lot done and it'll feel good to do the your bible study in a clean house.

I had a full day of getting ready for PT on my arm, going to it and then grocery shopping for lots of fruit and veg afterward and carrying it all in and storing it away. Don't know how much good that did for the injured arm situation. Was going steadily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and did get a little tired. Resting now with a big glass of iced cranberry tea.

See you again, Mel

Just checking in. Today is my day to concentrate on the team, so here I am.

Mel, there is not much involved in being a co-leader. The "studying" that I was talking about is really only some light reading., You get "assignments", too. This week I have to check in with the team three times minimum (I usually do that about 5 times a week or more) and send a goodie to 3 team members.

Roz, I know what you mean about "love", there seems to be less and less of it in the world in general.

Today I did heavy housework for two hours or more. Moved some furniture and vacuumed behind it, in the spare room (where I have my computer) and in the living room. Bedroom I moved the bed, but that was all. By the way, I have hardwood floors or linoleum through out the house, so moving furniture is very easy for me. I'm still doing laundry, but other than that I'm pretty much done for the day. Next I'll be doing some bible study.

Once I'm through with that, I'll either work on my current jigsaw puzzle, or on one of my cross stitch projects. Or maybe I'll just read! I have no idea yet, but something will come to me.

Have a good one everyone! I know I will.

Roz, I imagine the young ones each preach the story of "love" to you and your family every day!
Ours do the same. We just either are listening or we aren't listening on any given day.

Love on,

Had a beautiful Sunday always enjoy the fellowship at church. Our new minister preached about 'LOVE' which was interesting and a good reminder too!
Being the start of the new church year, we all wished each other 'A happy new church year!

My 6year old grand daughter who has Cerebral Palsy and is non verbal will be spending the next two days with me.
Although all schools reopen today, hers reopens next week.
Her older sister is 8 and goes into Standard 2 which is equivalent to Grade4 I think.
Stay blessed everyone!

Roz, Nothing quite like those hugs and kisses from our grandchildren. Our power can go out during the stormy season. Can cause a lot of damage and isolate us from being able to drive inland. Can be a real worry. Glad yours was over rather quickly.

I walked little Rokki dog and then stopped along the way and picked more blackberries. Some along the road and some in our yard. Thought it was about 2 cups and it turned out to be a quart. So wonderful to pop those into my mouth. A DGD was on sitting on the sofa when we got into the house. I cleaned the berries right away as I know she will want to have berries and ice cream later.

Having a quiet day just puttering around and soaking in the peacefulness. The worst of the Labor Day tourism is almost all in town about three miles from where we are.

Just rambling, so I'll close for now. Cheers, Mel

Jane.. so happy that your son will be visiting. I hear of more & more families being disconnected. I have a nephew that is not a part of family things even though he lives in same town as his mom, brother & daughter. They have never seen grandkids.

I am glad this team is active, too. I am on a few inactive teams. Nice to have friends sharing similar & different things.

Enjoy the holiday weekend. I hope Marsha is not underwater & has power. Not sure if anyone else is in the path of the hurricane.

Jane, What a great feeling to have your son coming home. This estrangement is fairly common I think, so you are not alone. Sometimes they just need time to work things out. I hope you have a lovely reunion. Life is short.

(Re the team volunteering I had mentioned, actually I asked out of curiosity. I would not be willing or able to do team leadership whether on a payed or a volunteer basis. I am walking on clouds. Our Son from Washington State is coming through for a week. He retired from the Army, but we haven't seen him for three years plus. He and his wife have been upset with me over something I said or did Oh my!. This may mean that at least he has gotten over it.

Mel, being a Team leader is strictly volunteer. People are grateful though to have someone that comes on consistently. I am on one Team that the Leader never comes on, but is still part of the Team. I find that strange. But thank you for being willing.

Marsha, did you get the storm? Rain isn't so bad without the wind and no flooding. I need to call my Kin; one in Fla and one in Virginia to see how they fared. It is so good to see this Team active. Hugs all around.

I hear you Kayne, about all of the computer woes and disruptions!!! I've been in similar circumstances with computer technology. I have often wonders why I am willing to pay so much to even have a computer and then for all the upkeep. And we have to pay for wireless out in our area as we are off the wireless grid.

By the way, what is it that one needs to study for being a leader? Is it a volunteer position or is there some kind of remuneration whether money or discounts or some other tangible reward?

Do not worry about catching up with us on an individual basis, Kayne. It will just add to your frustrations. Just jump in whenever you can and tell us how your life is going.

Happy Saturday, ...Mel

I'm so glad that everyone seems to be getting on with their lives. My own can start again, as all my computer woes from the last month have finally been laid to rest. I will catch up with everybody within the week.

I have been conspicuously absent, too. However, the frustration has kept me from functioning at my full level. Also having to sit here and let someone else take over my computer has not been all that easy. I've always had to concentrate on it, in case the "ghost" needed a password or something to continue. Also, having a phone plastered to my ear for hours on end, is not exactly conducive to getting other things done.

However, all that is behind me now, except for one minor glitch - Microsoft Solitaire. I can't seem to get it downloaded, and when it says it IS downloaded I can't find it anywhere to play it. Haven't decided if I'm even going to be bothered with it yet. I may just let it go and not worry about it anymore.

Now back to my studies, so I can be a better leader for all of you. That has fallen behind as well.

Kayne

Hi Gloria, they do have a room but it is too small. My sister was able to get a nice room nearby in the Baptist Church which will work out really well.

Good morning everyone!

Pattie, Iíve been MIA too, donít know how come. You certainly are keeping busy and thatís so good for you. Have a nice weekend at the retreat.

Mel, always great to see you on the same teams as me! I know what youíre saying about the exercises being added when we go to PT. Life happens and they always seem to go by the wayside! Lol, had to laugh at how smart Rokki is when your gr-granddaughter comes. Hmm, a chicken is on my grocery list, will get it tomorrow and yes, Iím going to make that recipe to go with the chicken on Sunday! Iíll be thinking of you!

Joyce, your husbands birthday party sounds like it will be a really nice one. My place is way too small to hold anything like that but Iíve been arranging a party on the 24th in a nice restaurant, for my daughterís 60th birthday. It will be buffet style and only 8 of us but it will be special. Thank you for asking about Peanut, I get times when I wonder if Iím too old to have a puppy to tend to, lol, but heís really doing well. Uses the training pads, is holding it when in crate at night, learning that Momís lap isnít for all day, lol, and he is now taking a toy and playing with it in his little bed in living room. Heís doing good for his age, now 3 months old.
OMG, your mother is doing well! For my 80th BD last year, my kids held a party in my buildingís common room. I, too, live in a seniorís apartment building. Does your motherís building have a room they would let you use for a party?? Would be wonderful and Happy Birthday ahead of time, to her!

Hello Karen and to everyone. This is kind of long and Iím going to go have my lunch now. Good to see the posts! Enjoy your Friday!

Somehow Classy 70s dropped off my email list; I must have been too harried one day to check out the Team and never got another email. Anyway, I am doing fantastic. Had tea with a friend this morning and another cup of tea with another friend in the afternoon. My letter asking for help has garnered great response, and the Masons are going to have a Work Party for me. They are deciding the date tonight. The blessings just keep coming.

Grief group tonight. Then tomorrow I take off with another friend to a long weekend retreat with my church friends. Don't know if we'll have internet access or even phone service there. I hope I can at least log in. I've almost a year of logging in every day and hate to break the streak.

Looking forward to the weekend, though. I'm all packed and have my spindles with me in case I find someone to teach how to spin. It sounds wonderful; communal meals and both alone and together time with friends.

Sorry I am missing in action so much. Have been so busy. Yesterday and today a great grand stayed overnight and I fed her breakfast and drove her to middle school both mornings.

Also, I have PT on my left arm again today. My doctor ordered a six week series of two sessions per week. Every session it seems like they add another exercise I am supposed to do at home. And I do try to take it seriously. If I get caught up in too many other distractions the exercises seem to fall by the wayside.

I have a granddaughter coming over today with her four year old daughter. She needs to use our washer and dryer but she likes to visit some too as she is home alone with the kids too much and doesn't drive. The little one is a darling but no other word for it, she's a "wild child." Little delicate Rokki dog sneaks off to my room to hide. lol

Just left for awhile and then came back to finish my post. DH and I went for coffee at the beach. We saw a whale going by. We didn't look through the binocs but it seemed more like a young one by itself as most of the spouts were quite small. Looked like it was heading the wrong way. We kept looking for the mother but didn't see her. Guess it will get straightened out.

I hear the washer-wimmin arriving in the hubby's car. Mother and child are being dropped off along with all their washing. The muscular hubby will hoist the heavy laden baskets on his shoulder and carry them into the house for DGD. Now I hear him driving off already, presumably on his way to work. I'm holed up in my room with Rokki at the moment. I guess I'd best go and greet them, then start to get myself ready for my PT session. Maybe I'll stop by the market and pick up a chicken to roast for later on case they stay for supper. My mind automatically goes to roast chicken because it's so easy and I can make a nice pot of rice and a salad. ...or Gloria's zucchini recipe looks fast and good to go with roast chicken and rice. hmm

Sorry no shout-outs today. I'll try another time.

Have a peaceful day for me!

Mel
