Good afternoon Ladies. This morning I got a haircut and then ran a couple of errands before it got too hot. Not much going on today.

Mel, I'm ready for July. This is about the time Dumont and I take a break from fishing because of the heat. I'm like you. Haven't had much energy so I'm fiddling with my diet. .

Jo, sorry about the heat but all we can do is deal with it and that's not fun.

Have a great day everyone.

July 1 and I am thinking of Irene and wondering how she is doing after that fall she took.

Gloria, Happy Canada Day!

Lew, Hope all is well at your house today.

Just got back from, a nice walk but with one negative aspect which is that my pedometer, my Omron, fell out of my pocket where I failed to have it secured well enough. It's a goner. Hope someone finds it that can get some good out of it. Things continually flow from person to person and we just go with the flow if we are wise. I myself am only a little wise in that respect but I am learning to let go.

Happy new month to all, Mel

Lew, Good for you for making the doc happy with yr numbers. We are about to move into July. Are you ready for that?

Jo, Thanks for the nice long post today. I feel for you in all that ferocious heat!

Gloria, hope you are relaxing today.

I walked little Rokki today but only a half mile. Just have not been up to snuff for a few days, I guess. Went to the library to pick up four books and then stopped by the market for salad things. Oh and the feed store for dog food and a couple doggie toys. Rokki is a major chewing machine.

Night all, Mel

almost lost post.

will check in tomorrow I hope. even my PC did not like this heat.

hope Irene is OK - keep us posted. her area is hot too so I hope her A/C is working.

I know that even with A/C I sometimes get dizzy so I make sure walker is close. trying to improve my balance but differcult as my right leg is slightly shorter due to a severe car accident in Calif. everyone was surprised I survived the accident. did not notice it when I wore athletic shoes but since I am at home I wear slipper shoes.

must order my White tea today - almost out of it.

happy to read all the posts. glad all is well -

be careful with your meat. fish or whatever as I noticed even with A/C and stocking food etc in my car when I get home you can see the heat affecting the frozen food a little.

the freezer sections I noticed are not kept as cold as before. - guess they are concerned abt black outs - some even have them off and on so food is not as frozen as they should be.

I make sure all frozen items go together so I just threw all in freezer until I am ready to sort them.

keep safe everyone -

JO

MIA - finally said I must try and get on line.

this weather has been just terrible - the heat hasn't cooled down since May - we get the same temps 24/7 - they will give you a different temp just a block away - this has been the longest period of unbearable high temps - for the past few days noticed our electric going off for a few minutes - but thankfully we still have it.

Lew - sorry abt your eyes - sometimes the sun, light etc is strongest on the water. I found that to be true for me down here. I even wore sun glasses here in the pool. wished they had covers over the pool - I always went in the evenings for that reason. even early in the morning there always seemed to be some reflection.

love to hear about your fishing trips - some people go on the pier.

Gloria - envey your walking trips - wish we had sidewalks - would be able to walk, with a walker of course, to Target and WalMart and Publix within walking distance. some young people walk in the bike paths but that is dangerous as car too close.

have felt so miserable these last weeks - weather so hot that you pass out - had one good day and managed to go shopping - glad I bought everything I needed - so hot can't even go threw out the garbage.

better close before I lose this.

JO

Good evening Ladies. Today has been mostly cloudy with a couple of showers. That kept the temperature down at a real nice level. I saw my GP this morning and everything is pretty good. My cholesterol is a tad high but my BP, pulse, Vitamin D, and weight all made him happy. He checked a rash on my leg and told me he didn't think it's Eczema so I need to have the Dermatologist check it. I've been tired all day and my back's aching so I decided to just take it easy.. I appreciate the comments about our family. I am one truly blessed guy and my blessings started when I started dating Sara. She has made me better than I have any right to be. She kept our family going while I was overseas and it was her idea to move down here to be near Grandkids. We're a good team. She comes up with an idea and I implement the plan.

Gloria, glad to hear your weather cleared up. As far as needing a new back and a new leg - me too. However, I think we'll just have to adapt to the ones we have. emoticon

Mel, it really is cool that our daughters live so close to one another. I think that's good for both of their families.

Have a great day everyone.

Lew how cool that the cousins live so close to each other and also can spend the night with you. We have ours over for the night a fair amount also.

Gloria, our weather was extra summery here yesterday and looks like it will be again today. I will try to get outside for a walk and to work with my succulents a bit.

Hoping Irene is doing o.k.

emoticon Good morning everyone! Beautiful day here after a lousy weekend! Rained and was cold for those two days but we have a gorgeous sun and temps are going way up today! A great beginning to a great week!

Lew, your home is so family-oriented, it makes me wish my home was filled with my children, grandchildren and much laughter! So very quiet here.

I seldom have visits with my doctor but today is the day! Nothing wrong with me, it is a follow-up from when he put me on the meds for nerve pain. All is well with me, I just need a new leg and back!

Good evening Ladies. Ethan spent the night with us and I picked up Josh at 9 to do the yard work. We had our two youngest grandsons with us this morning. After Josh did the yard he used my tools to do some work on skateboards and then we took the 2 of them home. They live 2 doors apart so we got to visit with both of our daughters after we dropped them off. After that we just spent a quiet day in at home. It hit the high 90s so we didn't want to go anywhere..

Gloria, I think the conflict in the chili was the BBQ sauce. After a few bites it still had a bad aftertaste so I threw it out. If I won't eat something I guarantee you no one would want to eat it. Glad you had a good time with your sis and her hubby.

Have a great day everyone.

I went out with my sister & BIL yesterday, all afternoon, then had an early supper with them at a restaurant we like. My microwave had conked out on me so I got a small one in Walmarts, it's an RCA so should be okay. Had to do some banking and get in a few groceries too, while out. But it just teamed rain all the time! BIL let us out at doors so we were okay, he's in bed today with a cold and bad cough, poor guy.

Mel, you'll get your oomph back when you get out walking again. Just take care of any aches from that fall and be sure everything is okay before you take Rokki out for walks.

Lew, sure is odd how that chili didn't taste good till it cooled down! How about when you reheated it? Taste okay then? I think the 'meds' we'd buy in pharmacy for Rolly's Macular Degeneration were some kind of vitamins too, kind of special ones just for that. Yes, I'm backing off walking, will go 2 or 3 times on week days, I get in a lot of walking on weekend if I need to do some running around.

Tomorrow I go to the doctor's, it's just kind of a follow up from when he put me on pain meds for the nerve damage. I'd like something even stronger but I guess I can manage with what I'm on. Other than seeing him tomorrow, I won't need any appts with him till I feel I need him.

Still raining cats & dogs here! But tomorrow is to be a nice day. Got cool in my apt and was feeling damp so I thought I'd turn on the heat ... what a surprise when it wouldn't go on! I'm still learning about living in an apt building ... I guess they turn it off for the warm months!

Have a good week everyone!

Good evening Ladies. It's been an interesting day. I made a run to Publix for some groceries, worked on the boat a little, and made chili for dinner using leftover pork steak. It never tasted good so we went out for dinner. Ethan's spending the night with us so we had to get him something Gluten free. After we got home the Chili had cooled down and the taste had changed. Now it tastes good. I have no idea how that could happen and Sara is mystified.

Gloria, I didn't answer your question about eye medicine. No, I'm not. The doctor just recommended vitamins. With your legs hurting backing off is the right thing to do. Thanks from me too for the news about Irene.

Mel, I have the same problem getting started if I miss working out. I think it's normal.

Have a great day everyone.

Gloria, thanks for telling us about Irene's fall. Good that her ammonia levels are normal though.

Sorry to hear your legs negatively reacted to the walking you did. Maybe three times a week or something like that would be safer. I haven't ventured out since my fall the other day. Strangely enough it caused me to lose my oomph about my walks. Must push myself to get going again.

Glad you had a good day out in the boat and saw lots of good sights, Lew.

I can't stay on computer, just came in to tell you that Irene has had a fall and is in hospital. Her friend Marcy is waiting for more news before going up to visit her and she'll pass on any news. I'll keep you posted.

I had a difficult time sleeping, leg pain! Should not walk daily, will stagger my days from now on. Anyway, finally got to sleep and slept in till after 9 this morning. Been keeping me hopping, I'm soon getting picked up to do all my running around. Things like banking, groceries, pet store, pharmacy, etc.

Raining hard here and is to rain all weekend. Much cooler too, maybe around 60 degrees. I love it cooler but not with the added rain and dampness!

Be back later today. I'll pass on any news of Irene.

Good evening Ladies. My day started at 3:30 this morning. At 4:30 I picked up Dumont and we headed for the Lagoon and an early start to the fishing. We launched an hour before sunrise and I was surprised that there was enough light to vaguely see the channel markers as we headed north on the Intracoastal Waterway. The 3 mile run to our fishing spot took about 8 minutes on the glasslike surface. It was a little surreal After getting to our spot behind some islands we saw plenty of baitfish in the water and began casting our lures. After awhile the eastern sky began turning pink, orange, and gray with a layer of clouds a little above the horizon. Right on time, at 6:30 the blinding while ball that is the morning sun popped up. After 30 minutes it rose behind a line of clouds and the blue sky was bright to the east. There were only a few birds around and they were wading birds looking for a minnow near the islands. Dumont did most of the catching today and all were nice sized fish. I caught one aerobatic Ladyfish. After about 2 hours a Dolphin came with about 100' of us but it was interested in feeding on the bait schools and never interfered with us. By 9 AM it was getting hot and my back was hurting bad so we headed back to the ramp. On the drive home while still in the wildlife refuge we saw a beautiful healthy Buck trot across the road in front of us and about 1 minute later we saw a Turkey hen and 6 or 8 chicks with her on the side of the road. Fun day.,

Mel, when I was a pre teen I got into some of those Nettles. They're really a shock to the system. I hope you're doing OK with it.

Gloria, you're doing great with the walking and going at it carefully is a good idea. Don't forget, the TURTLE won the race.

Irene, my kids keep telling me to never grow up. I don't think I will.

Have a great day everyone.

Gloria, Yes! Pat yourself on the about the great walking you did this morning! It's good you know not to overdo a good thing. I hope you keep it up though as it's wonderful for the spirit as well as the bod! Thanks for commenting on the fall I took. It really was quite a shock to the system. And my right arm literally vibrated for a night and a day from the effect of the stinging nettles. I must walk more mindfully from now on.

Lew, cataract or no, we keep on truckin' don't we? And it won't keep you from yr fishing outings! emoticon emoticon

Hello Irene. Whatcha been up to so far today? Sometimes I ask my grandkids what the worst thing that happened at school that day was and how it made them feel and how they coped with it.. After I get that whole story, then I ask them what the best thing that happened that day was and how that felt and how they responded to that. Gets them thinking in a productive and balanced way.

Mel

Hi and good morning to everyone.

Lew, I'm sorry to hear about your eye problem. Are you on meds for the Macular Degeneration? My hubby has been on them for years and the meds seem to slow the disease down. Wish they could take the cataract off, that sure would help with your sight. Looking forward to hearing about the fishing trip.

I read and commented on your blog too Irene. It's so great to finally hear some good news about your health. Improving, no matter how slowly, is the best news we can get at our age!

Mel, your fall in an isolated spot is a scary thing to think of! Oh boy, is it ever difficult to get up once we get down!! I would have thought all the walking you do would strengthen your legs, wow, I learn something new every day! I should really get at the chair exercises for my legs! I won't say "take care" when you're out walking alone because I know you do, so I'll just say be extra vigilant on your walks. You and Rokki sure do rack up a lot of miles together.

I went out walking again this morning. Went early so as to beat the heat. I like multitasking so I put my laundry in the washers downstairs then headed out the door. Using my walker, of course. I not only walked out to the street but walked the long block down the street to get to the other side of my court, then came up to my building. Quite a walk actually, just can't explain it. Wow did I feel good by doing that! I won't venture out tomorrow because I'll be going to the bank and to get groceries and I walk around enough at the grocery store! I don't want to overdo it or then my leg pains me terrible. I just feel so proud of what I'm doing by myself, that's all.

Enjoy your day!

Great Grand and DH are getting ready to take Rokki and Juno on a walk together. Then he will drive her home. She is eleven and yes is very comfortable with us. She lived with us at one time for her 2nd yr of school. Her roller blading has improved a lot just today out in or driveway. She is determined to do things her way.

I am having a quiet day... feel a little tired anddown and have not walked today. I may let myself slide by without taking my walk til tomorrow. Yesterday Rokki and I finally got 3.5 miles and our 2nd walk was along the ocean's edge at sunset. On the first walk which was around the lake trail, I tripped on a tree root in the trail and fell into a patch of Stinging Nettle! Rokki was frightened and ran off and I had to coax her back to me so we could finish the walk. It was quite difficult to get up off the ground and I was reminded once again that I need to work harder on my leg strength. Apparently just daily walking isn't sufficient to develop the particular muscles needed in that circumstance. No one else was on the trail so I could conceivably have been stuck there for hours. There is more to the story but that is enough for this evening I guess.

Gloria, Lucky Canary at your place!
Lew, glad you got to the shooting range. Long drive though.

Good evening Ladies. I went for an eye exam this morning and it was a mix of good news and bad news. My left eye is unchanged but my right eye is getting worse. The cataract has grown and macular degeneration is a little worse. A new prescription will only help the right eye a little so I'm sticking with these glasses. He didn't recommend cataract surgery because of the condition of the Macula. Once my eyes returned to normal from the dilation I got the boat ready for fishing in the morning. Life goes on.

Irene, isn't one of life's rules "never grow up"? Glad you have your notes back.

Gloria, I think it's impressive that you got out for a walk. I know it's not easy but will help you a lot if you keep it up.

Well, I walked again today! Using my walker of course but I went out onto the next street and it was glorious to go even that far! Another great thing about it is that I grew up in this neighbourhood so it was heavenly to be walking the same street again. Hopefully the next time I go for another jaunt, I'll take my camera and turn around to snap my building from the front. So far, all my pics have been from my balcony or inside my apartment!

I can't describe the ecstatic feeling it gave me to be out on the street, alone, walking. I felt like a child who realized she has finally grown up, lol.

Stay tuned for more adventures & misadventures of Gloria!

emoticon Good afternoon! Sun is shining brightly, it is hard to believe weíre to have a thunderstorm later today so I'll just choose not to, lol.

I found the answer to my TV problem. My son has it working from two remotes, the one that came with the TV and one that came with the cable. I clicked wrong buttons when turning it off the other night, so it was my fault but when he comes back from his trailer in the fall, Iíll have him fix it all on the one remote!!

Birds? Problem solved, I am keeping them both! Will get my sisterís spare bird cage to put the yellow one in, all I have to buy for it is perches and seeds cups! Iím getting used to these little fellows and can see they are getting used to me, it happens! My sign is off the bulletin board board downstairs, they both have a forever home with me! The little white one is chirping a lot and making sounds like it is really trying to sing! I put a video on daily, of canaries singing, it helps them learn.

Microwave that conked out on me? I did a little online researching and found that Walmart has some small ones reasonably priced so Iíll get one on the weekend. So those were 3 worrisome problems to me, and each one has a happy ending!

How old is your granddaughter who is going to practice her roller blades, Mel? Sounds like she it totally comfortable around you, for her to do it there. Did you have salmon patties last night? Mine turned out okay but not as good as expected, the salmon from the tin looked brown instead of a bright pink. Iím wondering if it was tainted? I threw out the remaining patties, just in case. I love the long walks you take! Iím thinking of trying a walk outdoors again tomorrow, I use the walker cause it takes the weight off my bad leg and helps me a lot. I told my sister about my Ďwalkí and she is so encouraging, she said that in no time Iíll be walking the couple of blocks to my nearest grocery store, lol. I wish, but yet ... itís not an impossibility! Hmm.

Hi Lew! Great that you got back on the shooting range, I know how much you enjoy that. Might have tired you mainly because youíre not used to it, so keep on going, youíll be glad you did!

Hi to you too Irene and everyone that I havenít mentioned. Come on in and share your day, we may not answer each one individually but we read them all! Itís nice to know how youíre doing and what youíre up to!

Gloria sorry so many things happening at once. I have Time Warner and sometimes there is no picture on my screen. I call and usually they can fix it automatically.

Good evening Ladies. I went to the shooting range this morning and had a good time. I haven't been in 7 months so it was nice to get back. The 45 minute drive each way and all of the standing wore me out. After dinner it started to rain and then it became a full blown thunderstorm for an hour. For the next 2 hours we've had lightning around but light rain. I have an appointment with the eye doctor in the morning and held off taking a shower until the lightning moved away. I up very late for me.

Mel, your Great Granddaughter sounds a little self conscious. Inside a garage or in a basement are good places to learn to skate without people seeing you. I learned in my parents basement. emoticon

Gloria, you display a great attitude when life throws you a curve. I'm still hoping you find a home for the Canary.

Have a great day everyone..

I will go to the library to return six books today and then get at least two miles of a walk done with my pal Rokki. Great Grand stayed three nights now and plans to practice on her roller blades today. It is a new challenge for her and she won't practice anywhere she thinks others can see her. Guess she has her pride. She needs to learn to stand up and balance first of all.

Irene, Yes I do understand that you can't get out and preach any longer. So sorry you are struggling with your health.

Lew, it seems the elements are playing games with you! First the lightening comes along and mucks things up and then the rain comes along and gives your lawn a blessing. That's Mother Nature!

Gloria, Oh my! It does seem the smaller troubles can have the effect of putting us over the edge emotionally sometimes. But I wonder if there could be a connection between the microwave problem and the television problem somehow? Just seems strange they both acted up at the same time. And it hasn't been all that long since you had the flood in your apartment. What a drag!!! I'm glad you went outdoors at least for a little while. It always helps me, anyway, to connect with nature. I know it isn't the easiest for you to get out and walk though. The salmon cakes/patties sound like a good thing. Both DH and I do love salmon cakes and you gave me an idea for or supper tonight!

HELLO to Dee and the 4 Js: Joyce, Jo, Jen and Jude-- and any other Classies I have missed.

emoticon Hi, I'm having a quiet day. So many little things have been going wrong this week, I need to just stop thinking about them. My microwave is kaput: TV won't turn on today: can't even GIVE away a canary: daughter is really sick this morning.

Okay, my Pity Party is over!
emoticon

I cleaned apt, cleaned, fed & watered birds, took plastic containers downstairs to blue box, went outside and actually walked around out there for a while!!

I'm now going to make myself some salmon patties, will have one for lunch, freeze the others for other meals.

I didn't respond to individuals but did read all the posts and so happy about those who come in and share their day with us. Keep 'em coming, you can't know how reading them perks some of us up. Feels like we're having a real "chat!"

Good evening Ladies. I ran errands this morning and as soon as I got home the sprinkler repair man showed up to fix the sprinkler system. The lightning fried the controller in the house and one valve. He put everything in working order and left after about an hour. Right at dinner time the heavy rain started and lasted about an hour. It washed in the fertilizer we put on the lawn Sunday so that's great. We're spending a quiet evening at home.

Mel, I'm glad that Rokki still likes her walks but sorry she's still messed up. California Poppy in bloom are beautiful.

Jo, glad to hear you're slowly getting everything in order. The heat is definitely settling in.

Gloria, you're right about the little one. His favorite person is his uncle Cody. Cody is 22 and he can get Rusty smiling faster than anyone. If he's fussy, Cody just picks him up and all is OK.

Have a great day everyone.

Rokki is doing better but still on special food and meds. Her little bowels are still expelling some clumpy sandy dirt but are slowly improving. We just got back from a good two mile walk along the ocean bluffs. She still loves her walks and her impacted intestines don't seem to be slowing her down at all, so I am thankful we caught it in time.

Many fishing boats out lately and even a few motor boats which we have not seen up here before. And quite a few abalone divers this summer so far. So much beauty with the ocean sparking and the bluffs covered with wildflowers esp. the bright California Poppy which is on full show right now. I feel so thankful to live in such a wonderful place.

Jo nice to hear you are getting settled in finally.

Lew, The new television sounds good. I haven't seen that brand name before but I am sure there are many I have not heard of.

Gloria, please don't worry about the personal responses. I am just so pleased you are checking in here when you can. Love the pic of you and yr dear sister!

Marie, Happy to see a post from you. Congratulations on your first wedding performance after ordination. It sounds like you enjoyed doing it and I'm sure you were a big part of the successful experience for the couple!

Jude, Thank you for the update on Prem's condition. I know this is all very stressful for you and tiring. I hope you both get to go back home soon. Take care of yourself in all of this.

Irene, I commented on your blog about your father a day or so ago. Also, wanted to ask you if you wish you were still preaching sermons these days? I hope you are finding some improvement in your health, even if slowly.

Greetings to all Classies,

Mel

finally went to Dr. and was shocked to learn that they charge for every thing they do as Medicare pays very little to Drs. that is why many do not accept Medicare. she took BP, checked heart/lungs and the usual Dr visit. did not know this until I received her bill. all I went for was prescription renewal and she proceeded to check the usual way. thought nothing of this as it was usual type of visit. received a bill for $63. -

decided to leave Medicare and return to same as before. checked with NP at Target and he gave me the name of dR. WHO DOESN'T take any type of coverage. it is just like I had before I became a senior citizen. he said many seniors are changing as this way we will pay a Dr. for usual type of visit. thought it over and it is the best for me as I know I will get better care. hope this makes sense to all of you. i only visited a Dr. before as it was covered - the Dr. always laughed as she said i came only so she would not forget what i looked like. i really think i will be OK with all of this. i still have some Atenol pills - they are the lowest amt they come in. when i am close to finishing them will make aptmt with new Dr.

if any one can suggest anything, will appreciate your comments. hope and pray that this will all work out for me. from what i checked Medicare will not be the best option for seniors. i know that all te people i know on Medicare have supplemental insurance. my neighbor pays $312. A MONTH for her supplemental ins. she is with AARP. and she need the supplement as he is not in good health. checked with others and the same info. but they do have health problems. i still say my life style has kept me well.

Lew - as always love your informative posts. in many ways it reminds me of the times we had our own home and for us apt. living was best as DH not handy in any way.

we have bldg. problems here but nothing like owning own home. we did lose electricity and water also due to the storms - but all handled by CVE. living here is just like owning your apt. in the City - being a city gal I am use to it.

OUR WEATHER here very hot upper 90's every day. no cooling at any time. no rain daytimes some showers at nite but temp always the same very HIGH. ABSOLUTELY no movement outside - surprisingly we do have many people who stay all year. guess they don't have any homes to return to as they are from states with terrible conditions.

after 5 so almost time for dinner. have leftovers to heat but time for tea first.

tomorrow must order my WHITE tea - get it from Amazon.

take care everyone. hope i will soon get back to normal - never thought therould be so much to do when a bank closes a location. changing jobs was easier. of course though if i did not have a box there would be no work involved but i did not like keeping deeds, ins. policies etc. in apt/ felt it was safer there. i do keep copies however but originals of everything in box. do you all agree with my actions? suggestions welcome if others had similar problems.

JO

when i finally get everything settled will make comments. happy that most are doing well,

Irene - keep well

Gloria i wish my problems are like yours. in CA we had one of those birds -you know with the pretty feathers. it was a job cleaning out the cages.but then we had outside garden so it was easier.

take care everyone.

Lew - your fishing trips always great. lucky you caught a good one. is the water better where you are?

well read all the posts and happy I am in a complex like this one. while we own the apt. we do not have to take care of outside. each bldg. takes care of any problems and we vote on new board each year. they take care of problems. just like any co-op apt. we have in NYC for example. we did own our home in CA and vowed never again. too much work involved and my darling DH wasn't handy either -

Lew - we lost electric also a few times. lost internet connection a few times. PC OK but it affected printer so will wait til I buy new PC 10 but this time will not use Staples.

finally, I think I am catching up slowly with everything. everything finally set up with new bank location. so strange - although same BofA each location has different banking set up. I only needed a box as everything else same.

I am going to close and start new post.

JO

emoticon Good morning!

Wow, you are a real go-getter Lew! You had a real busy day and got so much done. And yes, technology improves constantly, sometimes it seems we can't keep up with it, lol. I'm glad you enjoyed your Fathers Day/Heather's birthday. Little ones grow so quickly and their smiles warm our hearts! It's nice that you have a young one in your family.

Got my bird notice put up on my building's bulletin board and hope for the best but I have a feeling it's here to stay! My sister offered to give me her extra cage if I have to keep him, so all I'd have to purchase is new perches and seed cups for it. But oh my, I really don't want two cages in my apt!! Well, life does hand us twists and turns and all we can do is go along with them. Might end up being fun!
emoticon

Enjoy your Tuesday everyone. Sorry I haven't been responding individually, I just seem to be so tired all the time anymore.

Good evening Ladies. It's been a productive day. I had a blood draw early and then went to Brighthouse Networks to turn in my cable box and get one that wasn't fried. I called the sprinkler company and I'm wait to find out when I'm on the maintenance schedule. I researched TVs and found a Vizio at Walmart that was well priced and the right size for the living room. Not too big and not too small. It's amazing how much technology has improved over the last 7 years and I had .everything up and working 30 minutes after I got it home. . Great picture.

Fathers Day and Heather's birthday get together went well. Our great grandson is starting to develop a personality and he did smile a lot. Of course he got a ton of attention.

Thank you all for your Fathers Day wishes.

Gloria, I hope you have good luck finding a home for your Canary. That would be better than having 2 cages in your apartment. Thanks for posting the picture of you and your sister.

Marie, WOW - your first wedding. Congratulations. Who was more nervous, the Groom or you? emoticon

Irene, I read your blog. That's a powerful story.

Jude, thanks for the update on Prem. He's a trooper and so are you. Best of luck.

emoticon Good morning everyone.

Congratulations Marie, on performing your first wedding, that is awesome and bet you felt wonderful!

Hi Irene, have not been reading blogs, will try to get to them today, sorry my friend.

Jude, I'm so sorry about all your dear husband has to go through and of course it has an impact on you too. But I so admire his smiling attitude, that makes it easier on both himself and you. I could take a lesson from him!

Mel, how is Rokki doing? Hope she is much better today.

I'm going out shopping soon with my brother-in-law. He takes me to get a few groceries when needed. Then I hope to put a note on our bulletin board down in the main lobby of the building, asking if anyone wants to give a little canary a home! I kind of feel he's here to stay but would really rather just have the one cage/bird. Time will tell.

Beautiful day here so I better get cracking. Enjoy your Monday everyone!

Hi all. Wish I had more time to chat but to involved with care for DH.
First, HAPPY FATHERS DAY to you Lew. A wonderful person. A small but great update on Prem. They have moved him from the I.C.U. to the cardiac floor. He will get much more rest and feels better without all the IV lines and machines hooked up to him. I have told him that he is going to have to go back on dialysis, at least for awhile. He, of course is VERY disappointed but his attitude is always the same and that is a smile, and telling me it will be okay...I am staying here at the hospital until I know he is stable in his new surroundings.
Hopefully one day soon, we will be able to go back to our home. I am trying my hardest to stay on a healthy eating pattern but it is really hard. But remember, we all want and have a certain goal and we shouldn't let obstacles get in the way. We can be strong if we choose to be.

Gloria, the pictures of you and your sister are beautiful and thank you for sharing.

Magee, poor little baby, it hurts you as much as them. I hope she is better soon.

Take care and,Lew what a terrible experience. I am glad it wasn't worse.
Until I can check in again, keep strong and stick too that plan. Hugs Jude

ďHappy Fathers DayĒ Lew! You are a very deserving father & grandfather and I wish you a wonderful day. What horrid weather you had! I hope everything will be fixed up properly, soon, and inexpensively! Happy Birthday to Heather too!

What an awful thing to happen to Rokki, Mel! Is it a habit, her eating sand? Some dogs have habits of eating forbidden things. I sure hope she recovers quickly.

That makes several of us who didnít sleep well last night Irene. I was awake at 4 this morning so I got up. Washed, dressed, made my bed, had breakfast and by 8:30 I thought it was noon, lol, sure felt like it! Iím napping on couch off and on today, just cannot stay awake!

Jen, Iím using Words to do my post, as Lew says. Lew told me about it a couple of years ago but I couldnít figure it out, Duh, takes me a while but eventually I get it ... lol. Very frustrating when we lose posts, I lost a blog this morning so Iím not going to blog at all for a while. I get so agitated with the site problems!

We had a wonderful reunion yesterday. First of all, the weather co-operated and gave us a sunny warm day, it was just right. Not as many showed up this year but those who came had a great time. We hold an auction ... we take things to auction off ... and we make several hundred dollars, which covers next yearís reunion nicely! That covers the rent of pavilion, prizes for games, tea/coffee/pop/water for meal, paper plates, etc., plus goodies for each person. This year we were all given a large jute bag with a fun saying about our family name (Kleinsteuber) on it. I got two and love them! Also pays for trophies for awards, etc. We had lots of visiting, gabbing, catching up, games for children, card games for adults, prizes, great pot luck late lunch! Many photos were taken and it was one super wonderful day! My sister and I are the two remaining Matriarchs of our family, the oldest and last of our Mom & Dadís kids. We are treated royally, lol. I put photos on face book wall but SP wonít let me put them on here, not on blogs or posts!

I didn't go down further to read but please know everyone that I care about you and think of you and wish you all a nice Sunday.

Good morning Ladies. I went out in the yard in the light of day and surveyed the damage. The lightning hit a tree in front of the garage. We have a quarter circle driveway because we're on an intersection. The tree is between the driveway and the street. We were in the house about 40 feet away. A dead branch is lying on the driveway and there is charring on the bark. We have a light at each end of the driveway and one of the fluorescent bulbs blew up. The other light is burned out. My TV is definitely burned out and the HDMI cable is also toast. The sprinkler system isn't working so I suspect wire damage at the valve boxes in the yard. Fortunately, we have a whole house surge protector and all TVs and Computers also have their own surge protector. We're OK, the house is OK, and the damage is manageable. It's going to be a busy but great day. Heather's birthday and Fathers Day today.

Mel, sorry to hear about Rokki's problems. Now that's stressful. Hope she gets better..

Irene, glad to hear you got your rest. You need that.

Have a great day everyone. .

What a day you and Sara had, Lew! I would be so frightened to see lightning and a fireball in the yard. Happy Father's Day! And do have a great family time. We will be meeting some of our kids for a father's day brunch down in the harbor for my dh. Hope the sun shines!

Irene, So sorry for your bad night last night but glad you slept in this morning. You and I both had a difficult night last night. In my case it was because Rokki was having a bout of vomiting and not being able to move her bowels properly. Turns ot she had eaten some of our sandy soil and had impacted her bowels. I was pretty scared for her. She is on a treatment course to help her clear her intestines. Several medications. It is hard to monitor her dirt and rock eating behaviors outdoors but I simply must do a better job than I have been doing so far! Poor little mite was really retching and strugging for hours.

Thinking of the missing Classys!
