I just made some Eat-Clean Hummus. I love to dip veggies into it or stuff a 1/2 whole wheat pita with cucumbers, lettuce and tomato. It works well in a flatout flatbred wrap too. I sometimes add red onion and sprouts for variety.

What are you eating? I have a 3 day rotation. Without boring you with all the specifics, included in those 3 days are tuna, salmon, avocado, almond butter and a little olive oil to cook with. These fulfill my fat quotas without a problem, but if you hate fish, that particular rotation would not work for you. If you give us an idea of what a normal day is for you, we might be able to give you some places to add in the healthy fats. :D

I'm not sure what types of things might be listed, but I know the shorter the ingredient list, the better off you are. My protein powder is a soy based formula and the ingredient list is "Soy Protein, can juice solids, IP soy fiber, Calcium Carbonate, guar gum, canola oil, cellulose gum and natural flavor". Obviously, this is not an ideal protein powder, but its what is in the cupboard, lol. Looking at this list, I would guess the *filler* is the guar gum and cellulose gum. Calcium carbonate is a preservative. Check your local health food store and just spend some time reading the ingredient lists on the back of all their protein powder choices. The one with the shortest list and the least sweetener, artificial or otherwise, will be the best choice. :)

Whey Protein Powder. If you are struggling to get the necessary protein in, try a fruit smoothie with soy and whey protein. As per the book, try to find one that has very little filler and is not presweetened in any way. A banana usually does a pretty good job of sweetening without any unnatural sugars. You can also add the whey protein powder to oatmeal.

Adding the protein powder in the morning will eliminate the need to use a *hard form* of protein later in the day, and hopefully help you over the boredom hump of meat products. And to be honest, since its a drink, it doesn't feel like you are eating MORE protein. :)

Another option is adding more soy. Soy milk, tofu, edamame ... plant based proteins. I don't know as much about them, in a Clean Eating context, but I do know there are some great alternatives out there.

Hope this helps some!

I'm struggling with this, I dont really like fish or tuna.

I've been doing eggs, beans, chicken, turkey, lean beef, pork tenderloin

My problem is the amount 5 oz at each meal (not counting dairy) is just too hard for me

I've been counting my dairy protein, I know she says not too but I CANNOT eat that much protien a day at this point

love wins :) VWS
