I've never been much of a salt adder, but I am using sea salt now. And there are good for you oils, just remember they still are high in calorie. I go crazy with the garlic. If a recipe calls for 1 or 2 cloves, I add 4 or 5 (ok, a lot of the time I add a whole head). Onions, peppers, ginger. Just use fresh when you can instead of dried - you'll get more flavor. Any spices that you can handle are great. And a lot of them have a lot of health benefits! (garlic will keep fleas away! lol)
