Oh boy, I wish I could buy these products here in the deep south. They look delicious!

Thanks for the effort. I really appreciate it!

Oh CHRSTINAG, I like you! The one son that is in medical school is one of my husband's triplets, but my own biological children are 21 and 24 (25 next month!), so yes, I am old enough.

Thanks for the URL. I love the web site. It's going to help us fight our battle to eat clean!

There's a bunch of Albertsons. Maybe they just don't have this product listed. I've found that Albertson's store brands often don't have HFCS. Nabisco's "Original" Saltine Crackers had HFCS and the Albertson's Store Brand doesn't.

I look forward to reading the article!! I wrote my response this morning just before I ran out the door for church ... I wanted to send you the link to their website and everything too ... but am only just now getting to it.

http://www.foodforlife.com/index.html

They have a store finder and I put in a generic Baton Rouge zip code and found 12 locations ... Albertson's was not one of them, though. I used to buy it in San Diego at the Albertson's ... but we have lived in upstate NY for the past 4 years ... could be they stopped distributing to them. Anyway ... there is lots of other info on the website that I think you will find interesting. I hope you are able to find a location near you so you can check it out!

And ... you do NOT look old enough to have a son in Medical School!

Thanks for the reply, Christina. There is an Albertsons in Baton Rouge so I'll look for it when I'm down there.

Interestingly enough, the headline on SparkPeople's home page today is warning people that HFCS is a diet danger. I'm amazed at friends of mine that will work so hard trying to loose weight and will do anything to cut the word "sugar" off of their intake list, but yet will continue eating foods loaded with HFCS. I hope that article today will wake some people up to the danger of HFCS.

One of our sons is in medical school and when they covered HFCS he called us and told us to get off of it. It's metabolized only in the liver (that's bad) and it's got a ton of negative side effects that are more far reaching than what was discussed in the article.

Here's a link to the article:

Ezekiel 4:9 breads ... I don't have the sliced bread on me at the moment, but I just checked the label on the Hamburger buns and there is no sugar or corn syrup or any type listed. I know it can be hard to find, but the major markets in our area carry it (Wegman's in the health area and on the west coast I used to get it at Albertson's and Boney's). As it is a sprouted grain product, it will always be in a refrigerated section. Good luck!! (And it is AWESOME, btw, regular bread is to boring for me now!)

Hi,

I'm having trouble finding a commercially available sliced bread that does not contain HFCS. I know I could make some at home, but then again I'd have hot fresh bread in the house and that's not a good idea when I'm trying to live clean and loose weight. We don't eat sliced bread often, but I'd like to be able to buy some without HFCR without driving the 2.5 hours to get to Whole Foods Market.

Any suggestions?
