I make mine with 1 cup light Soy Milk, 1 scoop whey protein isolate, ice, 1/2 banana, and about 2 tbs banana smoothie mix. It is very low in fat and sugars, but high in protein. I usually double the recipe, blend and drink half for breakfast and bring half to work in a coffee cup and refrigerate. Trust me, you will not need any more because it is VERY filling. These count for two of my five small meals a day.

Thanks you both for the information and the url's. My goal is to learn something new every day so this was a nice surprise. :)

The mini blenders look really handy. I love small appliances. I'll have to see if they have them at our Walmart here. Hamilton Beach is a good brand.

I bought some protein powder to use in a recipe and didn't know what else to do with it so this sound like something worth trying for me. I'm not crazy about yogurt or milk so that works out okay. I love fresh fruit.

I have one that has traveled all over the US with me.. I bought it at Walmart for $14.99 3 years ago and it is still going strong. I just bought another one this weekend to take to work with me and the price had gone up to $17.99.. They are made by Hamilton beach.

I don't have many calories in my smoothies.. I use protein powder with fresh or frozen fruit and water.. I don't miss the yogurt or milk in them at all.. Best of all they are so filling.. and the mini blender is the cup you drink from. I do keep frozen fruit at work too.. i am lucky that we have a frig/ freezer. My boss wants us to eat healthy and she goes out of her way to make this easy for us.

I have started back here in Feb 2012 after putting some weight back on. I lost 114lbs here previously and I now know I need this community and the food tracker to keep me in check.

I've never seen a mini portable blender. Where do they sell them at?

I seldom use my blender. I hate to clean it.

I've never had a smoothie but am curious about them. I gave up drinking anything with calories other than occasionally milk, orange juice, or grape juice. But I usually just eat oranges and grapes instead. Are smoothies low in calories? They sound like they would be really refreshing in summer.

I have taken it with me when I travel, the harderst part is if you want to use forzen fruit, it is sometimes hard to keep the fruit frozen, otherwise it works out great. My husband loves his smoothies.

Just curious, what has your experience been with making smoothies on the go?
