You know what really grosses me out is thinking about what I USED to order when I went out for chinese...Crab rangoon, boneless spare ribs, egg rolls, fried rice. BLECK.
My fiance loves chinese, so whenever we go I just order the steamed shrimp and vegetables. It's just that-shrimp and veggies! And I do eat some rice with it-sometimes they'll make you plain brown rice if you ask!
I'm always the one who orders funny, but I don't care, they're usually more than happy to accomodate at good restaurants-I always ask for dressing on the side, no sauce, no cheese and salad or extra veggie instead of fries

It gets better! The next night my husband and his friend went out to the Chinese place down the road and asked if I wanted to come. I promptly doubled over and started making gagging noises. um...no thanks! Never, ever again!!!!
chinese food is the one restaurant i have managed to stay away from, everything is so greasy and salty. i make my own stirfry at home and season it my way to satisfy the craving for it. i can't think of anything on the menu good to order in case i'm ever in your situation, i'll have to research that!

I relish in making my meals from scratch. The guys my husband works with marvel at the food he brings for lunch. I find it very satisfying. I never cook "out of a box". The only boxed stuff I have is my dry goods.
There are times where I don't mind eating out as long its a place I know and am familiar with. So maybe twice a month I'll go out for dinner.
Your headache might have been from the MSG that is often used in Chinese restaurants. Like you, I find it too salty and greasy. However, I wish I had your distaste for eating out. It's actually one of the reasons I became overweight to begin with. Now, I spend so much time working at home (writing, researching) that I cherish the chance to go out for some lunch.
I can usually eat out pretty healthy,(I travel for my job) you just need to make sure they don't add sauce, butter or dressing to your chicken or steak, but Chinese food is the worse. I hate going to a Chinese Restaurant.
Goals: Decrease Body Fat percentage. I will do this by eating clean and cardio cardio cardio, I must not forget strength training, my goal is to strength train 4 days a week!
Went out to a Chinese restaurant yesterday for an office party. Really didn't want to go because I hate going out to eat. But didn't want to feel left-out. Ordered off the menu as opposed to the buffet (double yuck).
Thought I was doing good by ordering garlic chicken, no rice and double veggies. Well the "brown sauce" was nothing but oil and salt. And since I don't eat salt I could taste it ten-fold. And I don't eat oily food because it does bad things to me.
So to conclude it was very disgusting and afterward I got a searing headache that lasted all day and I felt awful. My head still hurts. This is why I hate going out to eat. I would rather make my own food and be happy and not yucky.
