I'm new to this clean eating this, just starting to do it this week, but I'm a longtime vegetarian, mostly vegan at home.
We avoid a lot of the processed stuff already, once you try to avoid milk, cheese, eggs and nuts (son has allergy issues) there aren't many processed foods left!
For protein, read the label on pasta, it's higher in protein than you'd think! Beans are also great, seeds (hemp seed, sunflower seed) are other good options, and lentils and some grains like quinoa are good, too. We use soy, so soymilk and tofu make up a portion of our protein, as well.
Hi everyone! So, I'm going through our kitchen, tossing stuff to make room for grocery shopping tomorrow, and I was wondering, do any of you follow a vegetarian diet while still eating clean? Vegetarian diets aren't new to me, but usually involve a LOT of processed...mess. And I want to get rid of all of that. Plus, I have to take it easy on soy for health reasons. How do you do it? What are some sources of lean protien that aren't meat. (BTW, it's not so much a belief thing, as meat's WAY expensive, and we've just gotten used not to buying it so much. We still eat dairy and eggs, and meat, when I can get it on sale or something.) Also, is this addressed in the Diet book? Thanks!
