Seriously, I imagine that "chemically" they're probably better than the grocery store plastic bags because they're not cheap. LOL.

I think it's like $10 and shipping for something like 20 bags and you can reuse them several times, so I think I'm gonna say screw it and give them a try. We'll see what happens!

Next step is the Sham-Wow (I'm SUCH an infomercial junkie, ughhhhh)

According to my websearch there is a natural mineral infused into the material of the bag that reduces the speed of the ripening process by absorbing the gasses produced by the produce. But how is that mineral infused into the material? Anyone figures that out I'd like to know, but I wouldn't let it keep me from using the bags. We are surrounded by processes of that sort anyway in everything we use.

according to the infomercial, they have something to do with the natural gasses that the fruits/veggies produce.... I forget exactly how it goes, but I'll post later when I have an extra minute :)

Now that you say there might be a chemical, I'm definitely going to do some research. That's the last thing I want to do - add something to all of my fresh fruits and veggies!

I was just given 2 bags over the weekend. My sil's sister bought some, she works at Bed, Bath and Beyond. I just put some banana's in the large bag...but we actually had to take them out because we ate all the other ones LOL...think I'm gonna put the tomatoes that are sitting on my counter in them!! I have them and forgot that I had them.

There is this fimly feeling on the bags...is there a chemical on the bags? I'm thinking there probably has to be some type of chemical on the bag to keep the veggies from going bad. I just want to know for sure what it is.

I haven't tried them yet, but I've heard good things about them and they're on my list to get when I go out to run errands today. I think Bed, Bath and Beyond carries them (and you can get a coupon online to use there). I've heard that they keep tomatoes fresh without wrinkling for about 3 weeks and lettuce 2-3 weeks. I've never seen the infomercial; my desire to get them is just based on a friend's personal experience with the.

Has anyone tried those vegetable keeping Green Bags? I'm sooooooooo skeptical of these Seen-On-Tv things, but it if they truly work like they say they do, it would save me a lot of money on produce.....
