I am just starting to explore this clean eating. I think I kind of do it- I make most lunches- salads, egg white omelettes, etc. Lots of veggies- raw, with hummus, oat bran pita. I am trying to read labels more, and trying to buy less of the frozen meals. I think those are too high in sodium so finishing up the ones I bought and I will not buy in the future.

I have had a couple of really bad weeks. I gained three pounds then stayed the same the next weeks then lost 4 pounds and now I am at a stand still despite increased exercise. My response this week has been frustrstion and pizza, bbq ribs, and whatever else looks good. I need to get back on track fast. Any words of encouragement would be appreciated.

LOL, I totally understand, I love all food! When I get cravings at night, which is usually sweets, I started popping grapes, or a couple of crackers with a tsp.of almond butter. If it's craving for salty foods at night how about try eating more lean proteins like chicken breasts? A few ounces with a veggie? Your doing good, keep up the good work!!!

Or how about eating only one slice, better yet cut the slice in half, throw the rest in the freezer. Save for the family to eat later.

Oh my! I'm a native New Yorker and pizza is like my middle name! LOL I totally feel ya, but remember your goals and how you want to see yourself. One time I had this sweet dessert that I made over the holidays and no one ate it, it was such a temptation, I kept eating it then I relized what am I doing and quickily threw the whole dessert dish in the trash, if that's what you need to do, than do it. I hate to waste food, but if means keeping focused than so be it.

Have you tried sipping on room temperature water? It's alot easier to drink. I love cold water... but for quantity's sake.. I drink room temp. Also, for not loosing weight.... it happens... no big deal. Just ramp up the workout and cut down a bit on the carbs (mostly towards the evening.)

Water drinking. I keep several bottle of water around me. One is on my side table by my bed. One on the coffee table where I watch tv. One at my desk at work. I pretty much carry a bottle of water around with me . You see me you see a bottle of water. So I have nothing to do but sip sip sip all day long
I am hitting the panic button because I didn't lose weight this week. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to drink more water when you don't feel thirsty?

I allow myself to eat some bad stuff , but in moderation. Best thing to do to avoid eating bad food.. is find a REAL satisfying solution. Like pizza.. I try to make my own with whole wheat dough, tons of veggies, low fat cheese...but when I can't I ask that we order from pizza hut (they have the new natural pizza...pretty clean ingredients) and for fried foods; try coating zucchini with eggwhites and dipping in whole wheat bread crumbs and baking until cooked. Serve with tomato sauce. So good with out the gross greasy feeling! Craving sweets? slowly eat some dark chocolate chocolate chips or chocolate Vitamuffin, or even better a piece of fruit like an orange or apple. I also realized sometimes when I have a craving, sometimes I'm just thirsty.. so try having a hot cup of tea before you give in to your craving.

I'm feeling awful today, nausea, headache, blah... This is my third day of eating clean. Is this normal?

I'm fairly new to clean eating, but what keeps me from eating bad stuff is reading the label. Now that I've excepted that some yummy foods are so bad for me, I don't want to do that to myself (I'm worth the good foods) I had to get to the place of "willing to be healthy". I was able to turn down a cupcake yesterday, and I really didn't want it (I couldn't believe it!) I wasn't being strong or anything, just knew what was in it and what it would do to me and I just really didn't want it! I was actually very surprised! I'm sure there will come a day that I just really want that cupcake and I'll have to decide then if I'm willing to be healthy or am I willing to sabotage myself. It's not like you messed up big time. So just start again, today, be willing to be healthy. Your worth it too!

I am pushing the panic button. What a horrible week for food!!! Yesterday I had pizza for lunch and then I ate a Little Debbie Nutter Bar. Yuck!!! I do love the pizza, but only very rarely and yesterday I ate three slices! I haven't felt well this week and have looked to food for comfort, but have obviously chosen the wrong foods. I have mostly been staying within my caloric intake, but I have become haphazard with my food choices. Please throw some motivation my way. I need to stick with the whole foods and healthy foods. I want to put myself in check before I gain all of my weight back!!!

I am so glad to have found this site! As I deal with my eating issues, I find that I have extreme anxiety and cravings for food. I have been looking for a place to go when I need someone to help me through the moment without me giving in to the anxiety and cravings. Now, I hope I can find this again! :) I have subscribed to your team- I love the concept. Soooo...I want to be sure I know how this works. For sure I don't want to be pesky! If I am about to give in or give up, do I come on here and post? Then, how will I know if someone responded? I sure appreciate this! I seem to have times of strength, and times of weakness. I am watching more of my triggers, but feel I need support. I want to be healthy and fit! Thanks for your help! Wendy
