I am crawling back to better health I knew today was going to be better as I drank a mug of tea early I had been right off tea everything tasted odd,
I have been eating what I felt I could cope with But now I need to get back to my planned healthy meals, fish I think may suit me,
I hate wasting time so now want to start catching up gradually.
I hope our new team members are watching reading and learning more of this team and ready to give us their updates? Ree emoticon

Ouch Elizabeth! hard to move the mouse with your left...lol, I tried emoticon Hope your finger heals fast, try rubbing lavender/peppermint/eucalyptus essential oils on if you have any. Of course these types of injuries takes much longer to sort it self out as we get older, don't you just hate it...

All good on my side, enjoying the weather(no wind!) got up early to water the garden, the birds was singing and dogs playing. Noticed the pool was full of dirt caused by the strong winds blowing from Monday, hard to believe there is so must dust in the air, no wonder everybody here are suffering with sinus problems.

Sending you well-wishes, Ree! Hope your tummy settles down, and
you're back in digestive balance soon! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I had a painful night with my hand - I bent back my right ring finger weeks ago, and caused nerve damage - and finally got out of bed. Surprisingly, that seemed to relieve some of the pressure, and I was able to massage my hand until the worst of the pain eased.

If this is going to be the "new normal" for my hand, it's going to be a real B-I-T-C-H! Typing isn't much of a problem, but using the computer mouse somehow sets it off. I tried to use my left hand, but I was such a spazzzz... guess I need to practice, practice, practice!

Wishing you all a great week! ~ XOXOXO, Elizabeth emoticon

It was a slow start, but I am working my way through the long list of household chores. Unfortunately, we are suffering through a highly unusual heat wave. By November, our weather is usually consistently cool and pleasant. It's even been cold enough some nights to put a blanket on our bed, and close some of the windows. I don't know why the weather has changed so drastically - it was in the 100's yesterday and "cooled down" into the 90's today.

The heat makes it difficult for me to be physically active... I get overheated so easily - I'm up and down, go for a bit and then rest. It also makes more intense cardio out of the question; but I started writing down the blocks of time I WAS able to sustain measurable activity, and was pleasantly surprised by how many minutes (hours!) I was able to accumulate over the last three days.

My time on computer is limited by recent hand injury - gotta go!
Hope you all are well! Take care, Elizabeth ~ emoticon emoticon

That sounds lovely, Hannah... so often we forget to take that beat, and just STOP and recognize the good in our lives.

Today, my first priority is to get up and out for Kaile's soccer game. emoticon

Second, do the shopping at CVS - short list, and last day for sales there - and MAYBE go to Von's too - gotta work on that list and the online coupons.

Third, get laundry started, catch up in the kitchen and other cleaning tasks, and MAYBE, finally clean DH's bathroom (it's on the verge of disgusting).

This doesn't have to be an overwhelming list... I'll just take it
ONE AT A TIME... emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I am in love with this thread emoticon and so very blessed emoticon to have YOU emoticon helping me to look inward.
YES! I agree...."to give myself time to achieve, and especially to be kind to myself." is the key! so often we get caught up with our routine and busy lives we loose perspective. The slightest strain/stress then put us into that downward spiral....
My "moment" happened Sunday evening when putting my birds to bed, the house felt peaceful with hubby & dogs outside, a gospel song was playing on the radio - the words just touched my heart and I started singing along. That action felt as if I was clearing my soul of all those blocked energies(not sure if I;m making ant sense here), I felt "alive/brave" again.

I'm beginning to think feeling stuck and/or overwhelmed and/or inadequate
IS the NORMAL state for human beings! I look back to what I used to do when I was younger - kids, stepkids, household, difficult husband, job, volunteer work - and KNOW I couldn't do it again no matter how hard I tried.

I have been very blessed to have a life with my now-DH that is financially comfortable. Money may not "buy happiness," but having enough to ensure your basic needs are covered relieves a lot of stress! Having lived hand-to- mouth often enough in my life, I fully appreciate my good circumstances.

However, even more important than the assurance I'll have a roof over my head and healthy food to eat - no matter what happens in the future - is knowing that I am accepted JUST the way I am. My family treasures and cherishes me, despite my faults and weaknesses, and obvious failings.

I think the hardest thing I'VE ever done is to ACCEPT me as me - to forgive myself, to give myself time to achieve, and especially to be kind to myself. (That's the best advice I can give anyone.)

I am once again feeling STUCK - STUCK - STUCK... no shower in days, erratic exercise, housework piling up again. I've been eating exactly as planned - not to say there hasn't been a lot of temptations, but I've stayed on track - so that is helping me to stay motivated for "the next day..."

I have GOT to stock up on fresh fruit and veggies! We're down to bare crispers and counters - thank goodness for frozen freggies, but they're running low too. (I can't believe I forgot to ask DH to shop at Sprouts when he went out today.) So, first up tonight is a shower; then tomorrow is "get out of the house" day!

Why is it that I can function on high revs most of the time-working full time, long hours in traffic, do my own housework, cook daily balanced meals for 2 humans+2parrots+2dogs, maintain a big garden and vegetable patch, deal with (grumpy)husband's health issues, shop, entertain friends, get up daily at 4.30am to walk the dogs, do my pilates, cope with my own health issues - It feels as if everybody and everything is just sapping my life force out of me, promised myself 2 days off to rest! Definitely taking a couples days leave next month! Must get my priorities sorted and make time for me, myself and I.

Wow! I see light in the tunnel! Thank you for this!

Hannah and Ree ~ I think what you're describing is Normal Life!

At least it's become the norm for me too... I'm not sure why I seemed to have more time to Spark before, but feel like I'm constantly scrambling to catch up now. I always wish I had longer to post on message boards and to read more. My trackers are first priority, especially getting my food entered and figured for the day; after that, I do whatever.

I guess a big difference is DH home full-time, after working long hours for many years. We're STILL working out a harmonious "schedule," balancing privacy with "our" time. When DH was gone for a guaranteed 10 hours a day, and then to bed by 8pm, I had set blocks of "ME" time. I can't seem to get adjusted to him being up late, and in and out all day.

Today's appointment was stressful - the whole situation is nerve-wracking! The person I met with didn't even remember my case or talking to me before, OR what he said he was going to do...!?! That's why I wanted to make the drive and meet, rather than fax and email again. Maybe now there's someone who will follow-up and do the paperwork I need.

After that, DH and I came back to town and ran errands; then picked up
GD Kaile after school, and had a fun visit - we're doing homework together again. I think getting past the stress of the appointment triggered a crash in me, because before long I was falling asleep... Nap, a late dinner, a long cuddle with DH, and it's time to SPARK!

Let me start by saying, I REALLLLLY HATE THE SCALE!

I hate that, even though it's the easiest way to keep track of changes in our weight, it's also far too easy to get sucked in and negatively affected by those numbers. I'd like to repeat my take on our team's philosophy about The Scale.

Let me clarify: our team philosophy ISN'T that we DON'T weigh in...
It's how we USE what the scale shows, and how we LET it affect us.

It's important to understand how incredibly volatile our body weights are, and how easy it is for it to change; not just day to day, but hour to hour. To name just a few influences: the weather, your sleep schedule, if you have any inflammation or injuries; how much fiber and water, and when you ate them; your digestive process, your body's glucose reserves. The list goes on...

Depending on the circumstances, a person can weigh either up OR down as much as several pounds from what would be considered their "real" weight. Fact is, that number on the scale is only true for that ONE moment of time; that's why depending so much on what the scale says can be frustrating, and really IS misleading. I always weigh-in two or three days in a row, then average the numbers to get my "official weight."

How often you weigh is up to you - whatever works for you, and that can change as your needs or wants change. Some people are more comfortable with getting on a scale once a month, but others weigh every day. I only weigh in at a specific time (for example, weekly) if I'm in a challenge that requires it. Otherwise, I don't worry about it. I'll also only weigh in if I've had a good night's sleep - sleep makes a HUGE difference.

I'm like most people - some times I feel like I'm being pulled in ten different directions - so my main goal every day is to aim for stability, and work for consistency. What happens with me physically is closely tied to my emotions, which are often difficult to process and handle. So I focus first on mental stability, and push that forward into being more consistent with my food and exercise goals. Food-wise I'm doing okay... Exercise, not so much!

I'm all about the LONG TERM... I'm glad I've lost about 50#, and I can finally feel and see the difference; however, it's been a long time coming, and there's been countless ups and downs (for example, the death of my son). I've been on Spark almost continuously since April 2007 - yes, over five years - but as slow as I'm losing, I ALSO know if I wasn't on Spark, I'd probably be that 50# (or even 100+) heavier... So I'm a Spark Believer!!!

Today it's time to meet with the lawyer for DH's union and get their help fighting Social Security for my Medicare benefits... LONG story. This situation has been stressing me beyond my limit for months. I dropped it two weeks ago, because it was just too much; time now to pick it back up and FIGHT!

How's YOUR week going?!
