Irene, maybe we should try posting a question everyday - this normally wakes the team up. I know we had great success in the past but I just don't have the time to do it. Even big teams have problems with members posting, don't feel bad. This team is doing fairly okay, even with 3/4 people posting, remember we also keep in touch via the friend feed and blogs so the support is there and on going. I am convinced we have aided in motivating others and have helped them on this journey.

I am sorry all threads on this worthy team are so old. As a co leader I am as much to blame as anyone else.
Iam still here if anyone wants to help get this team back on its feet? I gather it can be wiped off the list if theres no activity in 3 months? Should we let that happen? Meld with another team? or try to improve this team? Irene

Ouch Elizabeth! hope you found a new place for the TP right away, lol just pile them into neat towers next to the toilet on the floor..hmm maybe not such a good idea because you will have to move them all again to mop the floor. Anyway, I feel for you my dear and yes the healing process seems to take forever as one gets older so you will have to ride it out.

My side all good, still walking every morning - loving our cooler weather after the hot spell. Caught up with all the indoors chores over the weekend and planning to tackle the garden next weekend. Oh dear my boring life! Work, exercise, housework & garden work emoticon

Hello Ladies ~ I've missed you! emoticon emoticon

I think I'll start a contest... but I already know I've got the winning entry...

"What's the Dumbest Way You've Ever Hurt Yourself?"

On Saturday morning, I turned to my right to reach the spare roll of TP on the back of the toilet and I sneezed, severely pulling a muscle in my back and right side. I've spent the last three days taking NSAIDs and resting on a heating pad.

Sunday, I was only able to be upright long enough to enter my food on the nutrition tracker, and go through a few emails. Today, I'm improved enough to try some posting and check emails, along with cuddling with Kaile to watch a movie.

Oh, BTW, no exercise to report... unless screaming in pain counts!

Hope to see you more this week ~ Take care! emoticon emoticon

Irene, hope you can keep warm enough, gosh your temps are way down again. Take care emoticon

You are so right about rewarding oneself, our weekend was very hot and the only way I managed to get through my chores was that carrot....a dip in the pool to cool down, relieve aching muscles and calm the temper. I accomplished much more by giving myself the mini pool breaks than on other weekends emoticon

As Quantum Leap's Sam Beckett always says, "Oh Boy...!" Today was NOT what I had planned; not "bad" per se, just not as posted on my agenda. First of all, I slept through the Super Bowl...! Luckily, DH realized I DID want to watch it, and recorded it from half-time on. (We watched it together tonight in bed.)

I'm up for a bit to Spark, and then back to bed. I'm thinking, what really matters - now at the end of the day - is this: I DIDN'T BINGE EAT.

I stuck to my food plan (minus the ice cream, plus a candy bar), instead of letting loose on any of the dozen comfort foods I was on guard against today. I said to myself over and over, "you will stay on track." I promised myself I could binge tomorrow, or later this week or sometime in the future - JUST NOT TODAY.

And now, to sleep!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I think all these boxes are ticked where it comes to exercise, what do you think?

Still maintaining the same level of activity as over the holidays, actually I think a bit more in a way. Just hope it will stay like this and I won't be tempted to slow down because I'm "tired", I tend to let stress take over and end up loosing the plot. The plan is to stay in my current Zen frame of mind and not let the doom and gloom of the financial world take a hold of me.

I did well fitness-wise at the beginning of the week, but REALLY slowed down at the end and over the weekend. I'm also sleeping more in the day and up most of the nights again. Tonight, I set to moving my legs more, so I did 45 minutes of chair exercises, and then cleaned up (walk walk walk) for 15 minutes.

It's a Start! ~ emoticon emoticon

Walked and walked and walked tonight! Same task - household and grocery shopping - and then 20 minutes of low-impact "aerobics" to really give my wobbly legs a workout. Talked to DH: he WILL drive me to the pool to swim tomorrow, NO MATTER WHAT, or else... Unfortunately, I have to make this short... "See" you soon! emoticon

Welcome to the land of the living again Elizabeth. I know exactly how you felt. My cold lingered on then when ever I thought I was getting better it kicked me in the butt again shouting. I am still here, you cant enjoy youself yet!
I did some food shopping today Walked miles round super markets so thats my exercise plus bending and stretching at home to find places to put all the food. We wont starve now for a month or so.Phew Irene

Hi Ladies! I am FINALLY getting better... this cold is really kicking my butt!
I cleaned today - finished the kitchen, did my entire my bathroom, scrubbed the floors, and got more laundry done. I made it into a sweaty, cardio workout - which surprisingly felt good!

Then later, DH and I took Kaile to Target for her Birthday "Shopping Spree" -
we had gotten her a gift card, and she could buy anything she wanted within its limit. The main part of the gift, of course, is spending the time together. I encouraged her to REALLY look and compare - "I'm following you, Kaile" - and ended up walking (or moving my legs) for 90 minutes!

I am tired but happy ~ emoticon

Tomorrow will most probably be a RECOVERY Day! If I'm up to it, DH will drive me to the pool to swim... now that I think about it, it's smarter for me to wait a day and rest. Then, when I go over the weekend, my workout will probably be more intense and productive.

P.S. Did I mention how HAPPY I am NOT to be SO sick anymore!!! emoticon

Hope you are feeling a little beater, it's sucks to feel lousy!

My knee is nearly back to normal, still doing short walks but at least there is no pain. Planning to spend hours in the pool over the weekend and make up for the week's lack of movement - looks like out heat wave is going to last until next week, so thankful for aircons and fans!...and cold showers and swimming pools!

DH is finally recovering from the bad cold he's been sick with all week.
I started sniffling and dripping and coughing, but not too bad; until I woke up Sunday morning, feeling like a truck had run me over. DH took care of me all day - soup and toast, keeping me company in bed, napping together... It was nice to be babied and pampered!

No exercise, and very little Sparking... Can't stay... I gotta go back to bed before my head explodes - and ask DH if we have anymore tissues
(I switched to toilet paper last night, and used an entire roll so far).

Ree, SO glad you're feeling better! Don't worry about not being able to exercise as much, even for awhile. Your body will let you know how much you can do; and if you over-exert too soon, you can relapse. Take care!

Okay, that's it... I can't breathe, I can't think, oh boy...
... drip sniffle drip drip sniffle cough cough SNEEZE! emoticon

Hi Hannah - remember to R.I.C.E.! It's not just for right after the injury, but for as long as the soreness remains. (*I believe once the swelling is completely gone, you switch to heat rather than cold - there should be a Spark article about it.) Hope you'll be back to 100% soon!

Happy to be back and it is so nice chatting to my friends again!

I fell on my bad knee on Saturday, it's been so hot here - came in from outside after watering the garden and didn't realize my crocs was all wet, slipped on the kitchen tiles and came down with a bang - shame my two dogs were so concerned, the boxer(Ninja) actually helped my up. Needless to say my exercise program is down the drain, the knee feels ok but sore when I put strain on it, only walked around the block this morning and that was all right - had problems getting up the stairs at work - ha ha hope I can get down this afternoon or I'll be camping here tonight!

Sorry to hear the dreadful flu has taken hold on your side, all I can say is cinnamon, ginger, honey & lemon mixed with a glass of warm water. Both DH and me were on numerous courses of antibiotics this pass winter but my concoction did the trick in the end.

Feeling fit and ready to take on another work year, hoping I can keep my newly acquired firm body at least for a while! Very proud of my legs, can't believe I managed to get muscle definition without help from a gym, did not think it was still possible at age 57!!! and all from walking and hiking in the mountains with the dogs and hubby.

Hope you feel better SOON, Ree!!! Right now, I'm nursing DH through a monster cold... He's been sick in bed since Tuesday - we even had to cancel getting Kaile on "our" Wednesday. Now it's almost 1 am, and I'm just getting online for the first time today - AGAIN.

DH isn't used to getting colds or the flu - he's had maybe three bad cases in the nearly 16 years I've known him. Normally he wouldn't be so knocked out physically; but with the kidney failure and dialysis, he's a lot more susceptible and fragile. It plays havoc with his blood sugars too - I just made him a sandwich after testing his blood sugar at 59.

I don't know how much time I'll have on Spark tonight either, but I'm trying to hang in there! First priority has to be my food tracker, so I got to get to it...

My exercise today was zilch - spent most of the day in bed with DH, cuddling, watching TV, laughing, napping together - but I needed to recover from the last few days! I went swimming, cleaned up a storm (kitchen, floors, laundry), and walked a lot while doing errands:

I earned my rest!!! Weigh-in for the Challenge I'm on is tomorrow, Saturday (ie. later today), so I also need to get a good night's sleep. Hopefully I'll "see" you soon!

Giving myself a pat on the back as I had my 1000 mins trophy today from Sp
I hope to keep going for the rest of this month. It is mild and dry weather so I am ok on walking. Today I took a bag of books for a walk! They were to go in the library but it was closed so back I walked with the bag. I am consoling myself saying I burnt up extra calories toting a bag of bvooks around.
Stay healthy and I send very good wishes to you all where ever you are . Irene emoticon

Hi Denestia ~ Welcome to our Scale threads!

The Cat Lover's Challenge sounds like great fun; and you can work on your flexibility too, by trying to get into the contortionist-like positions cats seem to favor!

I've been up and down all day, cleaning and exercising in spurts of 20-30 minutes each. Right now I'm trying to convince myself to take a shower before bed, even though I SHOULD be right back to cleaning and getting sweaty again in the morning.

Right now my main commitment is to stick to my daily challenge with cat lovers team to play with my cats for at least ten minutes a day. During that time I must stand, run, stretch, walk in place etc. not just sit in a chair and hold a kitty toy lol

My Challenge is going well - two weeks in and staying on track well enough to see some progress. Unfortunately, I did little exercise this week, and almost no "high" intensity cardio. On the plus side, on top of me going out yesterday - to have blood drawn for routine lab tests, and for lunch with a friend - I went out again today!

I went to DH this afternoon and asked him to come with me to the drugstore. I said I WANTED to go, but couldn't seem to find the motivation. However, instead of me asking him to go FOR me, as I often do, I wanted to shop myself... IF he could just kick my butt enough to get me out the door - AND keep me company too!

Well, DH pushed just right, I got ready immediately (where IS that bra?), and we left. I found almost everything I was looking for, even though it was the very end of the sale (Saturday at 6pm). I also got 50 good long minutes of activity - again, not cardio, but on my feet and moving consistently.
It's a good start... time to get on a roll!

P.S. Good Morning, Ree! We posted at the same time... emoticon

Elizabeth. Sorry you have had a bad cold. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak at times. So far so good with me. I am doing well in 6 weeks challenge. It started early Nov so should be coming to an end soon. I can then tell you how many minutes exercise I did. I hope to keep on walking and doing exercise at home. I will until the weather turns icy. I hibernate then.
Got a lot of pre Christmas fetivites now I am not worrying too much over calories at present but do want to keep up with exercise.

Ree - How is your six-week challenge going? emoticon emoticon

I started a new 5% Challenge on December 3rd, glad to get back to it before Christmas stuff gets much more overwhelming. I was doing well - that first week was while I was on my trip to Palm Springs - but I got sick with a bad cold almost as soon as I got home. The last few days I've mainly stayed in bed or on the couch.

Now I feel better, and my plan for tomorrow is to get to the physical tasks I'd hoped to do on Saturday, Sunday and Monday; including unpacking, doing laundry, and cleaning up the kitchen...

Woke up to a beautiful morning and decided to hit the road at 5.05 am with DH and dogs! What a fantastic walk we had for a whole hour, found a new route with a bit of a steep hill towards the end. Sitting at work now and feeling very proud of our accomplishment and planning tomorrows walk emoticon

Looking back at the last week record of excercises and weight. Its not too bad. I am sticking weight wise but am more relaxed about it. I am looking more at wha tI have achieved already and how much better I feel. I still use the scales too much but not letting it worry me if its a pound or two up. I know now my weiht flucutate madly.
Just reading an Sp article on how dieters lost more weight if they are in a club or organised group .I think we all know that.I am so glad of my team members and friends where we share ups and downs.
Thanks to all for the support. emoticon

Proud of the both of you! emoticon it is very rewarding to be focused and working towards a goal. On my side I am caught up with work again, very busy time now, got my company audit coming up next week, this will last for about three weeks and then we close for the builders holidays for 4 weeks! Difficult to concentrate on myself at the moment and I know it will get worse as December approaches, just so thank full I have Spark and you guys to remind my to get it together!
Still walking and playing with the dogs when I can, suppose all is not lost but I really do want to start doing pilates & Zumba again...and swimming!

I've been walking a lot - I've even left the house on four of the last five days! DH was very happy with me, that I went out with him yesterday. We ate out - like a real date - and did errands together afterwards. Also, a big push to clean up, after neglecting it for awhile. When there's so much to do, getting it done right is a good bit of cardio for this old lady!

Now again, it's too late and I've GOT to get to bed ASAP, so I can't stay and gab like I'd like... Take care & "see" you soon ~ emoticon emoticon

Had a wonderful weekend after a hectic work week, caught up with all my ironing again, sure my right bicep muscle looks biiger than the left, lol! Back at walking the dogs twice a day again, loving the late afternoon walk and I find I'm less hunger at dinner, working on making this habit not to be broken.

Today I had a change. I am new to this area but the local library had some info on walks. One sounded right for me, along side a canal over a bridge and back the othe side. Gave things to look out for on the way, wild life etc So I did that today The route directions said 1 mile. I dont know who measured it ,It certainly felt like a long mile but I did it! Resting on my laurels now, or my back side as have no laurels handy) emoticon

I have a new set-up for my computer, so I'm sitting up on a hard chair instead of back on cushions. Actually, this is the way my old computer was set-up, and I wanted to get back to it. I'm able to move my legs, rock back and forth, do Kegels and isometrics, stretch all over (arms and neck too), and for extra fun, chair-dance along to music!

Another too late night, and gotta rush again... G'night! emoticon

Good for you Irene, working towards these mini goals is what pays health dividends, love it!

My latest is clearing the winter weeds off the paving at my house, I have made a commitment to pull weeds everyday, so when I get home in the afternoons I take my mug of tea outside and start the task. Sometimes I only have time to do a little bit, but I'm doing it and that is what counts. emoticon emoticon

Iam having a few problems so my daily exercise has suffered this week but I found a new way of fitting some in. Often when I log onto Sparks theres a delay. They are often updating the site over night in USA which is morning here in England. So as i sit and wait I was doing some leg lifting and knee raises while sat in my office chair by computer. It relieves me being impatient and helps me generally. Anyone else found a new way to fit in some exercise? Irene

Yes slowly is more likely to stay off so Iam told. I read we should aim for 2 lbs a week. thats fine if your body agrees to do that I can aim all week with no effect! As you say every pound off is the result of a lot of hard work and effort, not just stop eating chips or what ever!
Exercise too comes into it all. I have been doing the same ones for ages So it got to the stage I did them autmatically thinking of something else !
But now I am trying to be aware of my movements control my breathing better and concentrate! Also add a new one weekly.
So we plod on!
Does anyone else want to comment on this thead ? 2 of us get lonely! emoticon

I know how you feel, Ree... "Losing weight slowly" may be the healthiest way to do it, and the most successful long-term; but it sure gets FRUSTRATING, doesn't it?!

It seems that, for every pound I ever so slowly carve from my body - real weight loss, not scale fluctuations - there's hours of temptation and struggle; plus, it's too easy to cancel weeks' worth of good with one binge.

When my frustration grows, and it gets harder and harder to see the long-term goal, I look at where I WAS, where I've been in the past - not just the number on the scale, but healthy markers like blood pressure and cholesterol, and overall attitude toward food.

This past week has been a real challenge, in every way. I feel like I'm finally turning it around, FINALLY... Even though I didn't feel like it, I got up off the couch and exercised. Then, when I hit my "goal" of 30 minutes...

... I decided to keep on going, and did a total of two hours! I stopped to make sure I didn't do too-much-too-soon, instead of because I felt like I was gonna fall over. It was rewarding to get into the shower because I was sweaty from kicking up my activity level, rather than because I'm scummy from laying around feeling crappy~!

Summer has returned in Uk Usually known as an Indian summer.
Must make the most of it Trying to do a bit more walking while ist fine weather.
I am struggling wieght wise and not happy with the scales at all ,So whats the answer? Ignore them for now?
I want to start writing down all I eat and drink ,then review that to see if I am over indulging without realizing it
Or should I be happy with what I have achieved so far and not expect too much to happen now.?
Questions galore?? Irene emoticon

Today was all about the Walking... did 65 minutes, all deliberate and purposeful! Tomorrow will be all about Cleaning... I'm going to get up early, and stay on top of the normal cleaning that has to be maintained. Then, in the afternoon, GS will come over to work with me again. My goal is to be finished with the cleaning and straightening up, which is sorely needed again, so GS & I can work on more of our closets and cabinets.

Doing the Boogie Woogie to Tom Jones sounds...
MARVELOUS! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Most of my exercise minutes as of late have come from "housework" - which most definitely has the potential to count as cardio! The reaching, lifting, bending, scrubbing, walking, twisting, and more lifting and scrubbing, that I've been doing has given me a good, sweaty workout more than once this week.

We had the Home Visit by the Dialysis Center today - they arrived while I was showering - and DH said he's sure we passed the inspection! He said their reactions were very positive, especially about the way we set up the area in the bedroom for his dialysis machine and supplies. (DH is doing very well on it!)

For me, a lot of satisfaction came from the overall cleanliness of the apartment. Oh, I can make the kitchen to shine, but the living room will be a mess; or the bathrooms will be sparkling, but the dishes will be piled up too. This time, I kept working until everything was done - which is why I am SO exhausted!

When our GS came to help yesterday, I wasn't sure what I should focus on: should I make everything look perfect in the visible areas, even if it meant just stuffing stuff here and there to get it out of sight? Or should I stay the course, and continue to declutter, sort and organize, as we've done these past several weeks?

I took option #2. I quickly went through my "good" clothes, filling three boxes. GS & I emptied the linen closet, filling two more boxes with sheets we don't use. Then he pulled out several boxes from the spare room, a couple at a time, and I went through those too. He and DH took ten boxes total to donate!

Then, after a long rest, it was time to clean and straighten up. I was really freaking out about the inspection! I mean, DH and I - and the grandkids - can see the great improvement in our apartment, but would a person coming here for the first time think our home is okay? I guess we'll find out when we get their report.

I am going to kick back and relax! G'night~ emoticon emoticon

Elizabeth, I enjoyed your chat. Positivity and commitment comes through it all. We have to be determined we have to be the ones to push our partners. Its too easy ot use excuses as we have all done. It is no more excuses time. I am happy for you that you are geting you points across and doing whats important to you.
Me? i am ok, I cant walk for walking sake any more. I do walk when I have to but its no pleasure! So I am upping my home exercise minutes. Putting more effort in, getting breathing right and concentrating more.I put a cd on for music to exercise to. I just dig in the box and see what comes up Today it was Christmas carols! Christmas in September. But now I shall put that on one side for a while. I dug in and came up with a Tom Jones Cd .So thats ready for my 25 mins workout tomorrow.
Keeping going is the main thing for us all whatever our age, or heath condition we can find something that helps us keep going. emoticon

I have good news! First, when DH and I had errands planned after his doctor's appointment last Thursday, on the spur of the moment I grabbed all my swim stuff and had him drop me off at Bally's instead - what a great workout!!! I tired early, and called him to pick me up; he was out doing the errands by himself, so he came back and got me.

I had another afternoon at Bally's planned today, while he was kicking it watching the NFL (football); but I forgot he'd gotten a ticket for the Dodgers game. My oversight - I should have talked to him about it when I first planned it, and then I would have known he wouldn't be here. (I can't go to Bally's on my own because of needing a ride.)

Second, I talked to DH again about working with me on my going swimming regularly, and told him he HAS to buy a parking pass for school - I don't care how much it costs. He's been using his motorbike, now that he's strong enough to handle it again; however, even in the short time since school started, it's caused some inconvenience.

For example, I've wanted him to drop off boxes at the charity on his way home from school, but he has to come home to get the car first. Then he makes excuses, and doesn't go at all. I have them stacked in the entry hall of our building, with a sign that says, "Please take anything you want!" (About half has been taken by my neighbors.)

Okay, back to swimming... when I found out the parking pass is $6 - let me repeat that - six dollars - boy oh boy, was I mad! "For $6 you've been making our lives more difficult? What about when it rains? (It does rain in Southern California sometimes!) What were you going to do then?" So, he's to buy a parking pass - hasn't yet, but I'll keep on him.

This way, he can take me in the morning before class, and pick me up on the way back! I am SO jazzed... I know it will be tough for me to adjust my schedule - I've been a "night person" since I was a kid - but it's worth it. With such busy afternoons doing stuff for DH, I want to make that morning time more productive for ME too!

I postponed our Home Visit by the Dialysis Center, so it'll be Wednesday the 21st - NO MORE EXCUSES! As long as I keep on with what's planned, and keep up with what I've accomplished so far, the apartment will be more than presentable. On the 21st is also when we receive next month's 37 boxes of dialysis supplies.

Well Ladies, it's back to work for me...
Have a good day! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

hmm, I hear you...making the plan is the most difficult part...but if he is already out of the house till noon everyday does that not "free" you up to take a couple of mornings for yourself? emoticon emoticon just asking.

Walked in the rain this morning, not the best walk by far. Sun is out now, hoping for good weather this weekend, I must get back into my jungle, the lawn needs mowing. Can't believe spring is nearly over, missed it with this weird weather. Feels like the UK Irene emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I have GOT to "find time" to go to the pool and swim! It's not so much actually scheduling a time - it's coordinating with DH and transportation. It's safer if DH drives me - I mean, I can drive there just fine, but going home is the opposite. I won't know until I get out of the water if my legs will hold up under gravity and how shaky I'll be.

I had thought if DH joined me in the pool, which would be excellent for his health too, there'd be a double push to get out of the house and go and the finding-a-time problem would be solved. However, DH's doctor said maybe some day, but no pool yet because of DH's dialysis catheter (it's a bummer - we like to swim together).

I suppose one solution is for DH to join the gym and use the machines, treadmill, and so on; then he could drive me and work out too. Except he has a recumbent bike at home, walks outside every day, and has a full set of free weights that he uses when he can (still somewhat limited); so why spend extra money on a gym membership?

I told DH I need his help, and explained my problem. He agreed, but didn't offer any solutions, so I have to work on a practical plan. I feel as if I'm busy most every day, but I also know there's not much that can't be postponed or worked around. At this point, adding regular swimming is THE most important way for me to be healthier.

DH enrolled in two computer classes, a big step, after having to drop out last spring because of his health. He's learning to use a computer - go on the internet, use Word, and eventually get his own email address - so he's gone from 8am til noon. We schedule his medical stuff in the afternoon whenever possible, so that takes a chunk of time...

Heavy exertion through house cleaning, as well as some walking, are my usual calorie-burning activities. I've added occasional Chair Dancing lately - the upbeat music is a real mood-lifter - but I haphazardly (and rarely) follow my strength training routine. I MUST shake up my "usual" if I'm going to make any noticeable progress.

Swimming was a big part of me losing 100+# back in 2000, without the usual flabby folds of skin. I was more toned than I'd been in 15 years! I built up from 20 minutes twice a week - which exhausted me - to two hours three times a week. I can still do 90 minutes AND walk afterward, so I haven't lost too much function - and I love it!

Okay, time to finish up my trackers and get to bed... after the past two very busy days, today I rested physically. On the schedule for tomorrow is more cleaning, doctor for DH, and walking during errands; as for a mental exercise...

MAKE THE PLAN! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

only then will you discover you cannot eat money.

emoticon emoticon gals!

Had a super weekend, spring fever got hold of me and I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned some more! haha you need sun glasses in my house, everything is so shiny! Also started removing the winter weeds between the outside paving by hand, back breaking work and very hard on my hands. This is the best way to firm up my sagging behind, aiming to have all the bits and pieces back in good condition for my swimming costume in time for summer.

Today, house cleaning was my main exercise. While doing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen, I put on my country music and worked up a great sweat. I had to break it down into 25-30 minute segments, and tolerate the gross-ness of being sweaty, but it felt great to get the kitchen 100% clean - AND to max out my Sparkpoints for fitness! emoticon emoticon

Tomorrow... probably more of a rest or low-intensity day. Now that every-thing is clean, DH and I can finish putting our kitchen back in order!

I DO, I DO! I don't know what I'll be able to do tomorrow (physically, that is), but the plan is to get back to the kitchen. I need to do a lot of hand wash (dishes) before we can start restocking our cabinets and shelves. However, for TODAY... emoticon

when I came home my lower emoticon leg muscles hurt more than

to stop walking, I kept moving by emoticon lifting my knees, stepping

Hi there! I can't think when I last logged on here. It's been quite a ride: I was sick for awhile; I strained my bicep; one thing after another, and then I had gotten compulsive/obsessive about SP, and really had to cut it back. I've been trying to build up again, but schedules get nuts. Today I walked the bike path for 90 min, and did a yoga class tonight for 55min - I'd been gone so long, it's a different teacher! I didn't like him, so I doubt I'll be back. Oh well.

Don't know what tomorrow holds. I'm trying to adjust my schedule again; hope to do some kind of cardio in the morning, and yoga class in the evening -- that instructor is finally back after shoulder surgery last December.

We do Elizabeth! we live in wonderful times now where it comes to woman rights, gosh the first 20 years of my working life was NOT fun.

So happy for you that you guys are taking a break away from home and I'll whisper this .. the doctors, believe me this holiday is important for both of you( emoticon I know, been there myself) emoticon emoticon emoticon enjoy! and PLEASE allow yourself to RELAX, sing and dance. I mean it my friend, I ended up with paralysis to my face a year after my DH had his heart surgery because of stress, it took years for me to recover, lol longer than what it took DH to heal.

Okay back to exercise, walk the dogs in the rain this morning, we should have clear skies by Sunday again - planning to some house cleaning tomorrow.

emoticon Have a great weekend everybody!

Woman's Day sounds like a nice way to remember our foremothers!
Most probably think of suffrage (the right to vote), but they fought for so much more... most of which we take for granted. Two that come to mind:
(1) using birth control - distributing condoms was illegal?!?
(2) owning property in your own name.

Ladies, we have it good!!! emoticon emoticon

It seems like "the day not going as planned" is catching...

I took today "off" - spent all day with DH, either doing his personal business, making calls, watching TV/movies all cuddled up, and napping. Now, he's going to sleep, and I'm just getting started on "me" stuff.

Tomorrow my goal is: finish with the paperwork that needs sorting and filing, plan out our Vegas vacation (general schedule of who's doing what with whom), and start laundering the clothes we'll be packing...

Just 3 days! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Take care ~ Elizabeth

Our usual walk this morning, working late tonight so there will be no play session with my four legged playmates after work.

Hi Rita! You go girl! the stepper is a wonderful workout, specially for your legs.
