Thks Sparkers... to reply on the tight clothing, I have read that tight clothing is not good and can cause symptoms. I would think a bra too tight or an incorrect fit would not be beneficial. Acually I heard yesterday from my Mom that an incorrect bra size can cause neck / shoulder pain as well..so I will be getting sized for a new bra very soon.
There was information given to me that stated to avoid tight clothing. What about a bra? Should I get a larger size? Right now, I am not really sure the size I am wearing is correct. I f/u with my PCP this week and the specialist in 6 weeks. This is all very new and scary to me right now.
Finally since January waiting saw the specialist yesterday. I have to go for a gastroscopy and a stress test:) It has been 10 yrs or so since my last gastro and he said need to check on the GERD and see what is going on. I have chest pains/indigestion and when this all started in October had shortness of breath and heart palipations - I thought for sure I was having a heart attack. THere are days I feel good others the pits and there seemsm to be no rhyme or reason..it is very strange. I have modified my diet - no tomatoes/onions/chocolate/alcohol/spicy or fatty foods as these are GERD triggers. Sometimes I can eat spinich salad and have a bad day with lots of pain.
Hope to get in for the scope soon was supposed to be October but he is hoping he can get me in the next couple of weeks.
I do think the exercise and the losing of some weight has been beneficial.

Hello I know just 3 weeks ago I brought a tote 50 LBS down to floor level and after that I felt like crap funny in the upper chest by the throat no energy, I thought it was my heart again went to Dr had stress test done everything good. Went to my other DR asked him about my hital hernia and what I did he said that all the regertation in my stomach pushed all the way up and that may be what caused it??? So no more lifting any thing heavy again and no hot dogs it caused the pain in the chest too back in May , Brenda
Trying to eat healthy exercise daily, slow down my pace in life think positive and all in all get in Better Shape and Keep Heart healthy and enjoy the life God has given me.
Hi, Wearing tight clothing when you have Gerd caused by Hiatal Hernia or a Relaxed Lower Esophral Sphincster( LES) can allow more acid to be pushed into the esophagus/throat, causing horseness, heartburn, chest pain and pressure and cough to mention just a few symptons. Step Aerobics has to do with standing in place or moving side to side, back or forward and general Aerobics include walking on a treadmill, running and more aggressive ways to speed up the heartrate.
Hi, I am very new here, not quite 2 wks. I'm still learning how to navigate, not sure how to introduce myself. I have a few questions, has anyone heard that its not good to wear tight fitting clothes or lift heavy objects when you have a hiatal hernia? Also wht is the difference between general aerobics and step aerobics, this is my favorite exercise. Thanks a lot, Jormanoy
