10/31 another bonus for the month, practice #2 from my new DVD this one was vinyasa with Colleen Saidman (sp?) for 25 minutes. It was OK, my only problem was facing the wrong way on the first side, but that was my fault, not the DVD! I like to check the video every so often, especially with a new DVD...

No meditation, too much going on with Halloween and all!

10/30 22/21 got a new DVD, Rodney Yee again, it's the one with 5 different styles of yoga, Collage had it on sale last week. Did the Iyengar practice, more instructional style than Rodney usually does, 25 minutes.

also got in 10 min meditation last night at the gym, and 6 minutes this morning.

BigPoppa, and anyone else in Sandy's way, stay safe!

10/29 21/21 Rodney Yee, AM yoga, about 20 minutes after listening to the intro and all. This one is interesting in that it starts with savasana, and ends with a short meditation.

I did a longer meditation yesterday, one of the Chopra challenge ones 16 minutes.

10/28 20/21 from the 21 day YJ challenge, hip openers with Rebecca Urban. I enjoy the hip openers after a long cardio, we had a 2 hr bike ride yesterday (on a rental bike) so it felt good!

10/26, 19/21 did the Bethany Frankle Yoga they had featured on Spark, it was OK, kind of reminded me of the Rodney Yee/ Mariel Hemingway DVD I have, but Bethany's Yogi was not Rodney! It was fairly short, and very chatty.

10/22 16/21 backbends from the Ultimate Power Yoga, to finish off that DVD. Punchie, I tend to not watch the video either, but I was in the standing practice, and it was really off, like I mentioned. I saw that in a review on CollageVideo also, so I don't think it was just my DVD. It just seemed off, and Rodney's DVD's are typically so well done. Maybe he was just trying to demonstrate the pose before he led us into it? The rest of the practices seem to track OK from what I can tell, I'm like you and often don't look at the video unless the pose is unfamiliar to me.

KAYOTIC glad you liked the dvd, it's a pity is sound and image don't match, I'll pay more attention next time I'll practice with it. I'm paying $49/month for unlimited session....It's near my house so I'm doing 3 or 4 sessions a week...I'll do it in November.....then in December,the new LA Fitness will be open and they'll have a sauna..so I'll use it...

Bigpoppa, your infrared sauna sounds much nicer than mine, but I do enjoy that time in there...I usually only go for 30 minutes once a month.

Been forgetting to mention the meditation. I did 5 days last week, minimum 6 minutes, that's what my app is up to.

My Saturday yoga class was cancelled (wah), so I went to the gym and did strength training (legs) and a walk instead.

Today I will research some 30 minute practices I can do this coming week in the mornings. And I will take my elderly (85) mother for a walk. She is still going strong!

10/20 15/21 popped in Ultimate Power Yoga with Rodney again, did standing poses, 14 minutes. I do like the DVD, I still have the backbend sequence to do, so far they have been pretty good, the voice over doesn't always keep up with the video though, which is a little distracting when watching it, but they are nice sequences.

I use an infrared sauna at the massage place when I go for my monthly massage, it helps loosen the muscles I think, and does make me sweat! Is yours one of those, Bigpoppa? Mine doesn't have special music or color though, that does sound really nice...

the chiro is a trainer at a gym i've been a member of....she just got her certification and has set up a sauna which is more therapeutic than what you'll find at a gym....she sets the time...the temperature...the music...and the color in the sauna...i'm loving it....and did i ever sweat at todays session....

BIGPOPPAPUFF could I ask a question? why do you have to have a sauna session at the chiropractic? If I may ask. It sounds terrific to me. When I have gone to a sauna it has been only for the fun of it, but I imagine in your case it has a second(or first) purpose. Anyways emoticon with your fusion !

JANNEBARN I also like Jason Crandell and Lilian Folan had that Happy days practice in the 21-day Yoga Journal. I love it!

It's good that you like the Yogaglo site . Going to a studio has the benefit of feedback from the instructor,especially when one is a beginner to get the poses right, but I think you are an intermediate yogini and practicing Yoga at home has many advantages, especially the schedule. Good luck in your practice and let us know which videos you practice, if you like them and recommend them.

Thanks for the My Yoga link, Punchilouie!

I had a look, but I think I prefer the delivery system of Yogaglo, i.e. not filmed live, very focused, very one-on-one. $18/month is not bad and certainly cheap compared to paying for my local weekly class at $12 for an hour. I am a huge Jason Crandell fan and he is with Yogaglo. (Jason also has some pod casts free at Yoga Journal but I am tired of those.)

I will probably tire of Yogaglo, and then switch to another - keep the links coming!

Has anyone tried a class with Lilias Folan? She has a pod cast called Happy Days (Yoga Journal) and I just love it, a short 15 minute sequence but so inventive.

Haven't been on this forum for a while; I've been focusing more on running and strength training. Now I'm trying to alternate running/training and yoga so I get a balanced workout during the week.

I signed up for a trial run at Yoga-glo, a wonderful site with literally hundreds of practices. I got one in every day last week, Tuesday-Friday and then a live class on Saturday.

I agree about the name, Noll is unusual! But I like the practice too, and can't see how our abs cannot benefit from that!

KAYOTIC we were in the same wavelength today, hope you had fun fun with the core practice! I did! emoticon Yes the guy's name is Noll, what kind of name is that?...(being silly, sorry)

Oct 12: 12 Fitness Challenge, CORE FOCUS WITH NOLL DANIEL, 21 min, I've come to like this practice, the segment with the block is fun! I hope my abs will benefit..lol....5 min meditation at the end of my 5K virtual race, I was hyper so it helped to calm me down...lol

35 minute sauna at the chiropractors office......some stretching and myofascial release (20 mins)....and a yoga dvd (20 min).....to the gym tomorrow..

10/12 9/21 day 16 YJ fitness challenge core focus (with the guy, I forget his name, maybe Noll?) 21 min. followed by 5 minutes meditation app. I skipped yesterday, thought I might be able to get it in after work, but it didn't happen!
