Managed to get a guest pass at upscalegymfullofyoungpeople.com ... who'd a thunk it. My cousin never even thought of getting me a guest pass to the New York Health and Racquet club, of which she'd become a member ... probably because she can't fathom she could give me one for any branch of it roughly in the East 34th Street area ... and she's got loads of Financial District still-working friends to impress (I GUESS!!)

So, I took an old bathing suit, from 35 pounds ago-sized, took it in (will hand-stitch it up with 4 ruched darts), and add snaps to its inner panty part ... reinforce where the seams had burst out (tight had been TIGHT even 3 short years ago, before my diabetes disease discovered for me, low-carbing ...)...

I swam ONCE, 3 years ago ... then had swum semi-frequently as long ago as nearly 6 years ago ... sooner THAT than the Solstice Yoga Celebration in Times Square '14 (see my blog(s) on that as to why ...) Been a super-commuting, extended-family-caretaking, semi-dysthymic landlubber before '11 and since '08 ... need to add some "Happy" to my life ...

In honor of all that, I will continue to cross-train with cardio. I will dry-run a new corework section (not recording its cues yet), to eventually tack on to the mp3 playlist ...

My bad feet were acting up that day; couldn't make the Cardio Barre (Cardio Dance) class ... had done my yoga mp3 for 83 minutes (in addition to extra walking ... the cold caused the pain flareup, not the walking ...)

I would like to "steal" pilates moves from The Blonde today - she teaches Cardio PILATES ... so, theoretically, if I want to spend the money, it won't just be some video star ...

On the other hand, I will be avoiding (free or least cost/donation) actual commercialized "Laid Off People Yoga" at this world-class studio [I know... it is SO un-TINIERTINA-like]... I had already purchased what I think is a very similar (and LENTHIER) practice, authored by one J. Brown on Video ...

@SAMMIHAT, at the studio, over the weekend, I took a new class with a teacher I will politely dub, The Pilates Yogini [she is a big deal pilates teacher, primarily].

This class was taught in Yogea ArtFlow Yoga (pronounced "Yo-gay-ahh", not a misspelling) a fusion of modern dance moves and yoga done at a rapid pace, & it has all the spiritual bells and whistles I like.

Tonight I will take a Cardio Dance class ... I have only a few classes left; and being newly laid off, I will NOT be renewing the class pack ...

I "stole" two moves from this class, neither of which are pilates moves (sigh) ... Plus neither of which was crow, swapped from headstand (contraindicated for my medical condition -- I DO want to prevent diabetic retinopathy--I do a small handful of inversions yet, and headstand/handstand/full shoulderstand are none of them!) ... And THAT's a new development, even - from avoiding downdog held for more than three (3) in-out full breath cycles and avoiding them ALL ...for about 13 months

I am innovating my own pilates yoga fusion practice. Hot-damn-disappointed about the lack of inspiration in the exact way I was looking for:...

Question - Who steals pilates moves from a pilates teacher who would merely be on video ?

Answer - Mostly those who have no choice.

Yoga class today was great --- a little crowded. We had a young girl who came with her father.
She sat on her mat and read her texts. Boo! Not a good fit. It was, otherwise, a great class.
