We actually went to Tucson and then to Willcox... I know I know what is in willcox? LOL. Nothing. We just went there because it was close to a lot of different monuments and stuff we could go see (I have a degree in history and hubby loves historical stuff)... We actually did a hike while we were there - nearly 5 miles. Very pretty!

My week was fantastic Grace. Hubby and I went out of town to celebrate our anniversary Thursday and got back home yesterday. Had a great time and got in quite a bit of exercising as well. That was a good thing because I had trouble monitoring my eating while gone... I came out of it fairly well I think though. We'll see when I get a chance to look at my overall deficit comparisons later today.

I just remember the 5K walk/run on Nov 2nd which is a Sunday. This will take place in Tempe and will benefit pancreatic cancer research. I lost my mother to this just over a year ago. :(

I'll start another post for anyone who may be interested.

Either is okay with me. I have to check the soccer schedule as I know there are a couple of Saturday games on it.

Anyone else interested?

Grace - weekends - either day is great for me. I work m-f so I can't really do much those days... Just don't plan it for this coming weekend. Hubby and I will be out of town for our Anniversary.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Welcome Olga!

I think a meet to do a walk or hike is a great idea Grace. What motivation it would be for us to get together and do something like that!

I'm doing pretty well right now, I've been slacking on the exercise this week (haven't put in even one minute), but I've been doing well on the eating part of things (until yesterday).

I'm down about 3 lbs so far for October (6 if you count the fact that I was up 3 for TOM on Oct 1).

Hello Olga! Wow, I wish I could lose 7 lbs like that. emoticon

I am back down a pound but still within the 4 lb plateau I've been in since June. Maybe things are changing, the weather is cooler and I not only slept 8 hours last night, I think I got an extra half hour as well. Perhaps sleep (rather, lack of) is what's been holding back my progress. Well, we'll see.

I think it would be neat for the team to meet sometime, and the weather is certainly much better for that now. Anyone else interested? Perhaps we could do a walk in a park or a hike?

So how's the week going for the rest of you? My daughters are on Fall Break and I think we are planning a day trip up to Sedona tomorrow. It's turned into our GIRL's DAY AWAY these last three years. We'll probably drive up to Flagstaff on that back road to see if there are any fall colors left up that way. We miss fall so much.

Hello everyone!
I was so glad to find a team in Mesa! I have my own team here on spark but it is so nice to see some local friends on the site! I just started back on low carb and jogging/walking and I am so happy to say that I am down 7 pounds since Monday!. I feel so great! I had a membership to the Mesa Rec center last month and tried to get over there during my lunch hour. It is pretty nice but I like jogging at either Shepard Jr. High or Westwood High school. I love the bleachers at Westwood and will do sets in between laps. I run two laps then bleachers then another 2 laps until I have done 8 or 10 laps. I usually walk the first and last lap for a warm up and cooldown.
I hope I can meet up with some of you some day!
O

No jogging last night, something was cutting into my toe and I pushed just to walk the 55 minutes.

Yep, I've seen some correlations with caffeine and stress. I've never been a soda drinker but coffee can help my headaches unless I start drinking it every day again, and then it may be the cause. emoticon LOL, gotta get that straight. I've been trying to wean myself this past week by making my cups smaller and smaller.

I'm close to 5'5" and usually manage a mile in 15 min. A few times I've managed 13 min but it is a more 'jolting' walk when I go that fast. I think I am gong to set a new goal, something different for me. It may seem like something very small to a serious runner but I'd like to see if I can build up to a 5 minute run. I have no idea how long this will take me (a monnth or months, I don't know), and am not really sure how long I go now but it's probably less than a minute. Need a stopwatch AND a new pedometer!

How's it going?

I used to get migraines regularly, then I found a correlation between the caffeine I was having. I cut that out of my diet and I've had only a few scattered ones since (maybe 3-4 in the last 10 years or so). Those have all been related to instances of super high stress. It's been quite a while since my last one.

Yeah, I will jog for half a song maybe a full one if it's short... then walk for the rest of the song and the next one, jog again. Depends on how I feel how much I throw in. But a little jogging is the only way I can reduce my 1 mile time to less than 15 minutes. I think it's because my legs are so short (I'm only 5 foot tall).

I've been working pretty hard this month - I've gotten in over 600 work out minutes so far! I really want to break into the 160s this month so I'm pushing myself, but I'm having fun with it too.

I seem to be doing better but every so often I do go through these awful phases. They can be months or even a year apart. I know what you mean about not being able to do a "THING for days". After a really bad one, I may even feel spacey the entire next day and still not be able to accomplish anything. The paint though, that can be paralyzing.
emoticon

Wow, you are jogging, too! I'm still getting the 10 minutes of jogging in several times a week during walks. It's beginning to not hurt as much on the inside tops of my thighs. Also, I think it'll go better when I get some new running shoes. The shoes I've been wearing are great but they are really much better for hiking trails and not flat ground. I never meant to wear them other than that these past several months but didn't feel I could afford a new pair just yet.
emoticon

Yeah, our little team is still so quiet. We do have one member on vacation right now. If any members or prospective members are reading this, please jump right in. We'd love to have you join us. In fact, we need you, there is power in numbers.
emoticon

Off to workout to my Pilate Fusion tape. It's just on-loan from the library and something different for my routine. After that, I'm planning on a little hike. See you all later.

EEWW Migraines are awful! Take care of yourself Grace, I have had a few myself and I usually can't do a THING for 3 solid days so up and down sounds fairly good to me, but I know for others that is just as bad as the solid 3 days are for me.

I've added some jogging in to my walks as well - I can't seem to get my time below a 14 minute mile without a little jogging. I'm trying to make sure I keep a good intensity to my workouts, which means decreasing my time - so jogging has become essential though, like you Grace, I'm not a runner.

I'm really motivated this month. September was so hard I just had to take a breather for the last week or so and I think it's been the best thing for me. I've been very good about the workouts and I've been easily managing the food and water intake so far in October, so I'm really hoping to see a good loss next week.

What's happened to everyone else? It's been really quiet the last few weeks....

Hi CLYNN!

Up and down with bad migraines the past couple of weeks and today. emoticon Hoping I can turn this around soon.

I've been doing fairly well with exercise, in fact, I've managed to add 10 min of jogging into my walks (in off and on spurts). That can count as my success emoticon as I am not a runner, but I'm really hoping this will spark some fat-burning as I haven't made any progress by the scale.

A little less fair with food, not terrible but room for improvement would mean less treats. Actually I did eat junk food 3 times in the last week, guess that is terrible. emoticon

Going to get to bed real soon tonight, sleep is probably my worst area right now. emoticon For me, it's crucial that when I wake up I am able to get moving right away. Lack of sleep, though, seems to really slow me down in the mornings and ends up affecting the rest of the day. Y'know that old Domino effect...

I've been hoping to break that 150 mark again so I'm making that my October goal. Not sure what the scale is going to say in the morning as I'm feeling a little bloat right now, but it's probably 4-5 lbs for me to reach that mini-goal.

How is everyone doing? It's been slow around here!

I stagnated in September. Actually ended up taking the last week to maintenance levels and forgetting trying to lose anything I was so frustrated. Today it's back to doing everything I should be so I can get rid of these pounds I don't need to carry around anymore.

Anyone have any goals for the month? Any successes from last month? I'm hoping for the 160's in October. I'll be smaller than I've been since before I met DH, just in time for our anniversary at the end of the month (I hope!).
