Kettlebell class uses the different maneuvers (like kettlebell swings, cleans, farmer carries, lunges, and other tasks) to tone and shape your different muscle groups. It also really helps you build endurance. I have used kettlebells set to music, as part of relay activities, and for floor exercises, as well. There are some cool videos on Youtube you can watch to get some ideas. Just make sure you look at beginner stuff.

I've used kettle bells with a trainer a little bit, but what would a class entail?

I love kettlebell training. It is a great total body workout. I am hoping to get some kettlebells for Christmas this year. They are awesome!

I have two free passes to our local YMCA to try it. If I decide to continue they have an option that is as many classes from a variety of activities that is $65 a month for non-members I think that is quite a bit even though it would be $3.25/class (and less if I take any other activities). If I join the price goes down to $35 for the seven weeks. As a member I would also save a $1 on each Zumba class. (They offer 3 per week.) I figured it is a savings on the kettle-bells and Zumba of $10 a month if I join, but I too would have to save up for that.

Sounds like I am trying to talk myself into it! emoticon

I am starting a kettle-bell class this week to address the weight-lifting component. Will let the group know how it goes. the fitbit records minutes of intense exercise and I have yet to meet my goal in that area.

I am trying an Alternate Day Fasting approach right now and the last panel of blood work makes me think it is working for me. HDL was up 4 pts (highest it has been in 3 years), glucose was down (but still not where the Dr. wants it), and I am no longer anemic. I try to keep things balanced and avoid processed food, sugar & refined carbs and on alternate days eat only a large healthful lunch (400-500 calories spread out over 2 hours) between noon & 2 pm. The Paleo thing is just a little too much for me right now.

I tend to record twice a day - breakfast & lunch together and the rest of the day in the evening. I will be really good for a week or two and then it drops off.

With the fitbit the food I record in SP shows up on the dashboard as calories in and then the activity that the fitbit records automatically goes to the SP fitness tracker and it records minutes of activity. I think it takes the steps/day that you have and converts them to minutes walked. will be interesting to see what it does with Zumba class this week.

I hear you. I feel like I just keep bouncing around the 240 mark. It is 17 pounds off my all time highest, but I can not breakthrough to drop below 235.

I just invested in a fitbit and am hoping that the data it gives on calories burned and sleep will help me make better decisions. If it doesn't I am going to be pretty bummed.

I've had pcos since I was 15. I am trying to lose weight (my pcos spiraled out of control two years after I had my twin girls 8 years ago. I am still trying to find my way down again.

It feels like for at least a year or more, my body doesn't want to give up anymore weight. and I'm at around 29 pounds weightloss.

it drives me crazy.
