I have been doing low carb since mid February. I haven't lost any weight doing it. (I'm doing the original Atkins, no artificial sugar, plenty of exercise, and I average under 10 net carbs per day. I've been in phase 1 the entire time).
My doctor put me on Metformin. She suspects I have PCOS (or at least insulin resistance.) My hormone panel hasn't been assessed yet.
Did you find that without a change in diet or exercise, you initially gained weight on Metformin?
I'm not sure what metabolic cleanse my doctor was referencing. She called it a 28 day detox with supplement support. She said there was an elimination component to it. However, I've eliminated dairy (as well as all carbs except for what is in mayo, sour cream, and leafy greens), without results. She said she's on the fence about it.
