Hmm. Interesting. I have been using something non-traditional as well to manage my PCOS called Insulite. It seems to have helped get a lot of the symptoms under control. I still need to get my carbs more under control. I have lost 5 pounds this month, but I'd like to see that pick up some.

I buy the GNC brand because it does not have any sugar alcohols in it. This is the only brand I found without them and they give me an upset stomach. Here is a link about Sam-e http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/

I recommended it to my sister and she didn't think that it helped. She doesn't have PCOS.
I am not sure why it worked so immediately and so well for myself but it has just improved my life so very much. Also, I have read a few scholarly journals and can't really find anything bad about it. I was just wondering if anyone else took it.

I am in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing.

Can you tell me a little more about what's in it?

I take L-theanine for mood enhancement ,to take the edge off and helps with sleep too. Never tried Sam-e but willing to try it if it helps as much as you say. Metformin didn't work for me either. I was on it of about a year and I only got the bad side effects from it.

I am doing it!

Does anyone else take the supplement Sam E. I just began taking it a couple months ago and it has changed my life. It helps me more then the metformin did for sure! Also, everything I have read about it makes it seem like a wonder drug. It is used for many other things besides mood enhancement which my hormonally challenged body NEEDS, such as energy level, memory, healthy joints, liver repair and more.
