I know what you mean about having few people to talk to about PCOS as well. When I do talk about it, I feel like my friends and family think I am really just making excuses for my weight. it's a total bummer, when I really am working hard.
On that note, you are doing great! You have lost 50 pounds and are taking control of your life. This is a GREAT place to start with getting some support. I am so excited for you!!! And I'm definitely cheering you on!
Hi, Welcome! I know what you mean about friends not being able to understand, I've totally stopped even talking about it with friends because they just think I'm a complainer or I'm making excuses. You've already lost about 50 lbs and thats awesome! I hope i'll be able to say the same later this year, feel free to add me!

Hi I am new to SparkPeople!! I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2005 after I had my miscarriage with my one and only pregnancy. After that I became so depressed and my weight soared to 314 pounds. I have worked hard, but not hard enough and am down to 265. I don't know anybody around me that has PCOS and its very hard to talk to my friends about it, because they don't understand. I am looking for that support and encouragement to keep my journey going. I am glad I found this site and look forward to talking to all of you!!
