Have you ever tried Metformin? I have a similar problem with my PCOS except mine is mainly spotting all the time. I have been on BCP since I was 15 for extremely heavy periods and cramps and the BCP only helped so much. My doctor recently sent me to an endocrinologist since I could not lose weight ever and was spotting ALL the time. I was diagnosed with PCOS and put on Metformin. I have been on it for 3 months now and this is the first month I am not spotting through the month AND I had zero cramps!!! Metformin is used for insulin resistance in PCOS cases but it helps balance your hormones which has really helped me! Good luck and hang in there

welcome! i've had the opposite problem.... i would skip a lot of periods. so i don't have any advice accept that if you've been going to an ob-gyn, consider seeing an edocrinologist. they specialize in the hormone and metabolic systems where the root of the problem is. hope you get it figured out and find some relief!!

Hi Brittney.... as i read your posting i though .THIS IS ME I have the same issue, i was diagnosed with PCOS when i was about 15, and ever since my periods have been irregular. I can def say that if i go 2 or 3 months w/out seeing my period, as soon as I lose 5 lbs, there it comes!
Hi am new to this group and not sure where to post. Am sorry if this isn't where I should be posting, and won't do it again.
My name is Brittney, am 27 years old and have always been over weight. I found out I had P.C.O.S when I was around 20 years old, when I ended up in the ER for heavy bleeding for 3-4months straight. So from there they put me on B.C pills and those seemed to help for the first 2-3 weeks before I was back to bleeding/spotting. Then from there they would keep switching the B.C pills to help find one that would work for me. I finally gave up 2years later and stopped taking B.C pills.
I have been to many doctors and am just tired cause it's like the same thing over and over or they just won't listen to me.
I feel like it has taken over my life, cause there isn't a day I go with out wearing a pad sometime even a tampon. Since I have started working out and being more active, I have noticed that I will flood more after a workout. Is this due to my cyst's being twisted/moved around? Or is there something else wrong with me on top of my P.C.O.S? Is there anything out there that I can do so am not bleeding every day for the rest of my life?
Am just wondering, cause I have tried asking doctors and I never get an answer they just want to put me on more B.C pills which doesn't help.
I have also been reading the other forums on here, and everything I have come across I have never heard of and it leaves me wondering if I should mention them to a doctor? To see if any of they would be a good choice for me.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, any help at this point would be wonderful. Thank you
