Interestingly, Indian food (no rice, just curries - I make either steamed veges or quinoa at home to go with it) from one local restaurant will set me back 3 lbs the next day and the same dishes from another Indian restaurant we found recently doesn't. I'm wondering if Restaurant A uses msg or some other additive, or a particularly unhealthy oil or ???
Pizza or gozleme or pasta are all pretty atrocious from both a carbohydrate and gluten perspective. I've noticed that pizza with a gluten free base doesn't cause as much of a scale-hangover, so perhaps that's a factor.
I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem ..
I am usually very good with following Low GI plans, but there are times when I celebrate someone's birthday, for example and have let's say 3 normal sized slices of pizza.
The next morning when I weigh myself, I can be 2lbs, sometimes even 3lbs heavier than the couple of days before (I weigh everyday, just out of curiosity really & it goes into my food/weight log I have).
It actually can then take another week to get rid of the excess 2lbs just from having 2 slices of pizza. So I can be set back by a whole week, just for having a few slices of pizza or some mashed potatoes with a sunday roast.
Some foods, like chocolate and crisps, I can stay the same weight with (but never lose, even after a gym workout).
I guess I'm just curious to see if any other ladies with PCOS have a similar issue? I'm not on any medications for my pcos either.
