Thank you for the tips, I love breads and pasta. I am doing much better about replacing the whites with whole wheat versions. I am going to weigh in at the end of the week and see if has paid off!

Welcome Hallie! :) Glad that you found the group.

I'm currently on metformin as well and I've found that taking that, along with watching my food intake, AND exercising has definitely helped me with losing weight. For dieting, I've focused on cutting out the WHITES in my diet - going with a lot of wheats as an alternative. And of course, that means staying away from sugar as much as possible as well... which can be a struggle but worth it!

The metformin is helping my body regulate periods and when we try for baby number two, I think that I'll be able to get pregnant without the help of docotors (which I needed for my first).

Hi, I am new to SparkPeople and I was so happy when I searched PCOS and found this group! I have felt for so long that no one understood my problem. It is so great to read everyone's posts and know that I am not the only one out there with this condition. I have been taking metformin on and off again for two years and have gained almost 30 pounds since being diagnosed at 21. My husband and I would like to have a baby soon and I am trying now more than ever to lose the weight. Any tips on diets that have worked for others?
