I occasionally get cravings before my period but mostly mine are at the end and the days after. Its like some one else said, no matter what I eat I am not satisfied. I have been on BC that made it much worse, so much so that I would inintially resist then almost binge on sweets and food. Since I have recognized it, I just try to be in tune to my body and make healthy choices so I don't sabotage the progress I have made. I think it is related to the PCOS in some ways since it is a systemic disorder. I remember once, several years ago I had started a new BC and was having terrible cravings etc. I called the Doc to say I can't live like this. The nurse says "well there is a thing called P M S and it effects each of our bodies differently". I was like REALLY??? Did this lady think I had been living under a rock for the past 15 years and managed to get to 30 without that lovely jewel of knowledge?
yep. i also want to eat everything in sight right before my period starts. and even though i know this, i still don't realize that that's what it is most of the time... the urge to eat just makes me go crazy.

I'm pretty sure this is a normal part of a woman's cycle. I read a study that said your BMR goes up during that part of your cycle.
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.
I used to sabotage my month long weight loss whenever PMS hit because I would crave and eat anything in site!! I had next to no willpower for a week for some reason. Well a good friend introduced me to something to help kick my cravings and for two months in a row it has worked!! If you are interested in hearing more, send me a message and I can forward you some info.
I have a pretty big sweet tooth, but whenever my period comes, looking back I realize just how strong (stronger than normal, anyway) my cravings for sweets have been. It's not necessarily hunger but the cravings that get me before my period, but I don't tend to put 2 and 2 together until after my period has started.

I was just reading someone's blog who talked about feeling hungry during their period. I feel like I'm famished. It usually starts with the pms/pmt a few days before and lasts a day or two into the period. Maybe all women get this, but a straw poll with my friends says that they don't. What do you think? Is this part of PCOS?
