Thanks. My son will be 12 weeks old (or 1 week early) on Saturday. Metformin doesn't cause heart problems. I'm the 1 in 10,000 women who happened to have cardiomyopathy during pregnancy. We're still waiting to see if it will resolve itself or if I'll have to stay on the medicine.

Welcome to the team. I think that you'll find a lot of support here. I'm sorry to hear about your health issues - it's good that you have things under control now.

Congrats on the birth of your son - how old is he currently? I have a 21 month old.

Wow- this last year has been a dozey for you! I am tickled that you were able to get pregnant- that is wonderful! :)

I've had PCOS forever-- but came full blown after I had my son 8 yrs ago. Was diagnosed 5 yrs ago after I was pestering doc after doc- trying to figure out what in the heck was going on with my body. Finally- I had some answers. No luck on getting preggers again- but like you said- it's so nice to have a group that understands what you're going through and gone through themselves...

WELCOME!!! Glad you could join us. I joined for the same reason. I was sick and tired of hearing people say "PCOS??? What is that?" You guys know so I feel like a part of a group. Congrats on the weightloss but I am sorry to hear about your heart issues.

I'm new to the team but not to PCOS. I've had it for more than 10 years, but it was only diagnosed 3 years ago. I was over 200 pounds, severely insulin resistant, not ovulating, depressed, the whole bit. I was put on met which helped with a lot of the problems and managed to get pregnant earlier this year.

Because of some very large fibroids and blood pressure problems, I gave birth 3 months early (he's doing fine now just needs to grow a bit more). Because of my problems, I had no appetite during the last part of my pregnancy and lost 10 pounds during the last few weeks. I had major gas problems and a huge infection that led to further weight loss and a hysterectomy. On the plus side, I am 50 pounds lighter than I was at the start of my pregnancy, and my IR is gone. On the minus side, I developped cardiomyopathy and am now on a slew of heart medicines. While my PCOS is under control, I need to keep it under control for my heart. I know that the syndrome never really goes away though mine is under control. I wanted to join here because I feel at home with others who understand.
