I know this may sound silly, but make sure you're not drinking caffeine near bed time. I've also noticed myself being exhausted a lot when I eat a lot of carbs during the day. I think it's something to do with being on metformin, but I'm not sure. If I watch what I eat and try to eat a balanced days worth of food and avoid a lot of sugar it really helps.

I would highly recommend taking a B-Vitamin Complex and see if this helps with the exhaustion and the waking feeling unrested. I know that this did help me quite a bit with those issues.

Also maybe try melatonin as a sleep aid when you can't fall asleep. It really can be helpful with getting some really good restful sleep every now and again.

Yeah, I was going through a period of extreme exhaustion. 12 hours of sleep and still needed naps (particularly after meals) and it lasted for well over 2 months. Its abated, I'm not sure if its the medication, I was recently put on Metformin, or if it just not as tired at the moment. I was reading up on Vit. B-12, cause not being able to absorb it fully is one of the side effects of Met. It suggests on a number of medical websites that insufficient can lead to fatigue. I've been tracking it in my nutrition, and despite thinking I've been eating really healthy, haven't been getting nearly enough. So maybe its just a vit deficiency rather than Insulin resistance. All the best. Jo

Unfortunately right now I am exhausted all the time. Even after sleeping I wake up exhausted and I am not sure what to do to help. So any feedback is great. Sorry I am not much help.

Well, we do go through changes, especially us women. Stress, medicine, diet changes, & even the weather can have an affect on us. Perhaps you can keep track of these changes by keeping a journal and also talking to your doctor soon.

Well... I haven't been taking the pills my old doctor prescribed me. My new doctor said I should go back on them, but I really don't know if that's the cause. I should be on metformin (low dose for the pcos), nexium for acid reflux, and spironolactone for high testosterone. I'm going to talk to my doctor and be sure she wants me to restart these meds before I try... I'm thinking it's me not taking my acid reflux med. That even though I don't feel like I'm having it that maybe at night I'm having it unsettle me.

I've also stopped eating 3 hours before bed recentally b/c I know that you don't sleep well if you're body is having to digest things at the worst time ever b/c it's harder to when sleeping. So hopefully that might help. Going to take a night time nexium just incase. I just know this endless tiredness has got to get kicked out the door just like my weight issues!

I agree with you! I am on meds that make me sleepy as well. Could this be a problem for you as well or no? Take care!

Yeah, I figured if anything it may help others get answers as well :) I do have a few issues I know can affect it like insulin resistance and acid reflux but they have "seemed" to be in check so I don't know if that's my issue... or if there is some better answer. Or atleast something I can do to get my energy in check. I drag through the day in a fog lately, I can exercise and get things done. I just feel so blahed out though.

I go through "bouts" of exhaustion. It's difficult to get out of bed and then I can't wait until it's time to crawl back into bed. But other times I have energy and plenty to spare. I can stay up and read or pay bills even after the kiddies have gone to bed. I was doing well for several weeks but now it seems I'm tired all of the time, AGAIN. Even with plenty of excercise my energy levels just fizzles right after dinner. I thought maybe it was just having a bad day with too many carbs, BUT I had grilled chicken and steamed veggies last night for dinner and I was still exhausted 15 minutes afterwards. I'm certainly not helping you, but also looking for answers, just like you......

I am finally seeing an endo on the 10th. I had to wait 5 months for this appointment. Maybe I will get more answers from him.

I was wondering do a lot of you have issues with exhaustion? I'm finding myself tired all the time, no matter what time I wake up or go to sleep. I will be calling my doctor Monday since I told her a while ago I was having issues getting to sleep early but even now with me getting 1-2 more hours sleep I'm worn down by noon.

Was wondering if it was just me or if others have that issue or know what I can do to boost my energy so I'm not feeling lethargic.

Sorry if people are in multiple groups that I'm in and seen this posted a few times, I'm just trying to find out what is going on. If maybe it's a weight issue, insulin issue, pcos issue or what. I've talked to my doctor before and now that I'm getting more sleep and not feeling anymore rested I wonder what's going on. She just suggested Tylenol PM back then to help get me to bed early. I don't blame her, it didn't feel as bad as it does now. Sleeping w/ out Tylenol PM but still not rested. Anywho... I'll post this now :)
