I also decided that I wasn't feeling the full potential of my weight loss, so I readjusted my start weight to the five pounds I gained while rebelling against the program when I first signed up. I am proud to say that I am 16 pounds down! I feel so much better since I upped my physical activity. I think I've lost about 10 lbs. during this challenge and I can't wait to participate in future ones. Go team!

I made the decision to wean off of it. I presented this to my Doctors, primary and cardio, they didn't argue though. I said I could only manage to maintain my weight on these pills no matter how well I stayed on a healthy eating plan. I walked everyday and found myself gaining. Beta blockers can cause IR, thats when I got tested and found that i also have PCOS. It took 2 weeks to wean off, but both my doctors agreed that it is better for my health to get the weight off. (I was down to one tablet each morning), originally I took 4, (2 twice daily).So for me, what it cam down to was the med was doing more harm than good. Best of luck to you.

He told me I could exercise as hard and often as I wanted to, that the medication won't let my heart rate get any higher. Crazy thing is, I don't have high blood pressure to begin with - I am on Lisinopril & Coreg for the cardiomyopathy. I have an enlarged, inflamed heart - due to a virus. I never even knew I had it. (you can read all the gory details on my SparkPage if you want).

I was on Metoprolol, a beta blocker. It did the same thing. I weaned off in feb. I feel SOOOOOOOO much better. It made me sluggish. It also causes IR..I can do without the double whammy!

Did they give you a range to stay in? I'm also on meds that slow down my heart rate (for borderline high BP), but I know the range that I should be in. If they don't start weaning you off, you should definitely ask what your cardiologist recommends for cardio.

I can't go by my heart rate anymore since I am on medication for dilated cardiomyopathy - the meds keep my heart rate from going anywhere. The highest I can get it (even if I run) is around 135. I'm hoping that at my next cardiologist appointment he will start weaning me off of it!

I agree with you all. I don't sweat that much but if my heart rate is up and I'm breathing hard I count those minutes. I put in playing with kids with some of my minutes for when I take my dog out and play but I only do this when we are running around the yard or playing ball with him because he gives me a workout. Is there a better way I could put those minutes in??
