I really understand your concern. I made a decision to go on a miniture vacation with my family this morning and we leave on Thursday. I'm really worried about keeping to my exercise. I know I can eat healthy, but working out the way I'm used to has me worried. I do workout videos and I'm sure I won't find room or even time perhaps to do that. I guess our best advice for ourselves is to just do the best we can and work with what we have. Good luck on getting where you want to be before vacation though!

Just an added note to the strength training suggestion...your legs and back contain the largest muscles in your body which means they burn the most calories when strength training. Try to incorporate them into your strength training more by rotating legs with one other body area one day and back with another area the next. :)
I can relate, this past week I thought I lost weight at least 2 lbs, but the scale didn't budge. However, I know I've lost body fat, and it may be the same for you. I don't know what you do for your workouts, but try adding some strength training. It helps you to lose much more weight than just cardio. For women, strength training tones you down rather than bulk you up like it does for men. Unless, you do excessive amounts of weight. I loss body fat in my back and shoulders from strength training alone in one week. You'll probably see weight loss on your next weigh-in. Don't worry about it, and you may have actually lost lbs, but due to daily fluctuations (water, time, etc)it may not have shown on the scale. Whatever you do, stay positive and dwell on good thoughts. Don't stay blue because that will only lead to negative stress and keep the weight on. Do something to make you feel better (i.e. exercise, outside walk, etc), and don't worry about the scale. Hope this helps.
Hi, Dont lose the faith. It is discouraging when the scales dont budge, trust me I know. If you just started working out, Im sure you are holding a little water weight and putting on muscle. Your body will retain extra water to flush the lactic acid produced by your muscles. Dont give up. Try measuring yourself now and in a few weeks,to really gage your results. you can do it!!!!!
I know it can be discouraging, but just remember that muscle weighs more than fat. As you exercise, you build muscle. You might have lost those 2 pounds of fat, but because of the muscle gain, your actual weight doesn't reflect that loss. Cheer up! Focus on losing fat and not weight...feeling healthier and more energetic is better than anything the scales can ever say. :) Have fun on your vacation!
Are you going to Disney? You will walk allot if so, remember to drink allot of water..you'll be hot. I ALWAYS lose weight on vacation..it's strange. I struggled to lose weight before i got married and ended up gaining weight the year i was a bride to be. Then oddly I lost almost 10 pounds on a 3 week honeymoon! I attribute this to walking allot, being hot and therefore drinking allot of water, and not having a stocked pantry /refrigerator at the ready. I ate whatever I wanted, I was not dieting. Have fun..what ever happens you'll get right back at it when you return. Good luck. :o) Chris

Try not to feel down, you are doing something great for yourself and your body. If you keep it up the scale will respond to your efforts, probably before you leave for vacation. Just keep going...I've had a really bad spell myself and all I can do is keep logging on and hoping I can get myself back into this. The only way we lose and gain our weight back is if we quit. The dry spells and frustrations come but they won't stay if we push. Good luck and smile!

I'm just feeling a little bit blue and I was hoping for some support, I guess. I was hoping, since I started working out last week, that I would be able to drop two pounds this week and *finally* be 250 or less. But I'm still stuck at 251. I'm going on vacation in a few weeks, and I'm scared that if I don't get down far enough, I'll be back above 250 when I come back.
I dream of pants that fit me at my waist *and* my hips in an affordable price range.
